Yeah, but it doesn't at the current moment. That is my point. Adrenaline has had multiple instances where it just never went off
So once you either wiggle off or are unhooked, it doesn't heal you?

No it's not. I get many nice messages from random people all over the world, hell I still get messages about a record I set years ago and haven't played since.
I will not turn off all communication because of 1 game and because we think its acceptable. Imagine having to tell people to turn off their stuff instead of telling the horrible people to act better.
It's like saying to a murder victim, oh hey you probably shouldn't go out and should void everyone.... like no murders shouldn't murder.
It's an exaggeration yeah but it's the same point.
I feel that, but you also need to take steps to protect yourself.
You need only look at my recent posts to see what I deal with, I definitely empathize.

The game barely runs on Xbox One. I feel so bad for Switch players.
-
There are still Switch players?
-
Yeah, it's a pretty silly system.
-
It's such a terrible map.
-
I mean, it's the best counter to boons
-
Ah, still on about this I see.
-
Also, fun fact everyone, this thread is about 6x larger than the entire Optimization subforum.
Kinda crazy that we are still having serious performance issues, though I understand they probably aren't easy fixes.

@ImBlissful said:
Are the devs actively keeping up with this thread?
I have been told by Mandy that they occasionally use the videos from this thread as examples.
So yes, I presume that they pop in every so often.
-
I am not sure.
There are people who hack into crossplay off lobbies. I can offer some proof of that if you like.
It's certainly possible. You can crash people's games rather easily, and hackers obviously have access to client-side information of other players, so it is definitely possible.
-
The issue is that meta perks need to be nerfed.
They are so powerful that anything that challenges or surpasses them is ludicrously powerful.

Yeah, I feel like hackers in games play to gain an advantage, not to sit there and break $500+ dollars worth of technology.
Eh. They definitely can, especially if they don't think they'll be caught.
They have access to people's client data (which is why they can make vulgar messages pop up when you report them) so I definitely think they have the ability to.
-
I don't know if thess things are confirmed.
I believe it's possible, but I'd like to see a little more evidence.

There are apparently multiple people on here with the same issue - Shouldn't be too hard for at least one person to provide a video with the error message/code/nothing/etc.
I talked about it back when Resident Evil dropped.
My Xbox was very close to being bricked.
The game basically just did the "chainsaw of death" noise and clicked, then turned off and wouldn't restart.
It took a few hours, but eventually I got it to restart and didn't play another match because I was too worried that it would happen again
-
Because they said it couldn't happen, when it happened to me.
I get DDoS'd at least once a week.

If you believe every bull you see online you might be mislead. Fried routers? Lol.
A quick Google search would let you see the last part is correct. You can fry a router or send a zip bomb to it.
Both of those are extremely illegal.

The fact that the game is extremely poorly optimized.
Even @GoodBoyKaru had issues with their PC.

Mine almost got bricked by the RE update, I believe it's possible

@alex511 said:
I do not think that it is possible to do that through the game.

I don't think it's impossible

I remember reading him saying about it.
@Pulsar can you confirm it?
Yeah, I've lost two.
That's DDoS'ing though. It isn't on BHVR.
Also the group that did it is being sued by the government because they tried to do it to some dude who lives on a military bass (I think). That's what I heard through the grapevine at least.

It runs alright on current gen but there is a truckload of problems with this last update....
Like sometimes your Bungie (even with good internet)
And I know on PS5 that great skill checks are horrid atm like the bar will max then go back to when you got the skill check sometimes not rewarding the bonus for getting a great.... Also sometimes pausing gens for a second or two when you get a great skill check
I'll still argue that Xbox One/PS4 are current-gen because most people can't even get the new systems, much less find them for retail price

You can buy them with Iridescent Shards, the only thing limiting you is that you actually don't want to play the game enough. You can stop the entitlement, play the game, and get the shards to get them all for free.
14 XP = 1 Shard. You get 1 XP per second in game. 9000 Shards is one character. 9000×14 = 126 000. 126 000 are 35 hours. So it takes 35 hours of in-game time per character to unlock. You'd need to put in ~ 800 hours of in-game time in order to unlock them all. That's way worse than Battlefront II and yet no one talks about this.
Oh, but wait, you can buy them. Let's see how much the Auric-cell only DLC will run you, since every character is $5.
IRL-money exclusive: $90 (yikes)
Here's how much money you would need to spend to get the full DBD experience when you first boot up the game: $20 for the base game + $215 for every DLC = $235 for the full game.

You know, I thought this was going to be "Survivors need to be compensated more...for being facecamped" and I was about to agree with Sluzzy.
Whew, that was a close one.

@Arcturus said:
I hate that some people are saying things like "If you tunnel I have no sympathy for you" and somehow making the Original Poster into the bad guy when he's being told to kill himself. Even if he really was tunneling or camping or whatever, that doesn't make telling him to kill himself justifiable. Sure, I don't like tunnelers and campers, I play Survivor more than Killer after all and it takes the fun out of the game for me and makes me frustrated, but not even close to the point that I would want the Killer to kill himself and especially decide to tell him that, even going so far as to spam him.
And to the people who have been saying to "just ignore it," the original reason why the OP posted this in the first place was because he was afraid of how people in a worse spot mentally would take this extreme toxicity. If someone had been having suicidal thoughts, and was spammed by a toxic player and told to kill himself, do you really think he would ignore that? Or be able to ignore it in the first place? This isn't the OP just complaining about toxic players, he's sharing his experience, his fear for other people who might end up in his situation, and his own mood being affected by these messages.
Sorry for the rant, hope you all have a good day
wow, okay, did you have to say everything I said but better :p
The only thing that I would add is that I'm (likely illogically) worried that by not engaging I'll be damning someone else. I didn't play very "mean" that match. They got put on their backfoot early and never recovered. I didn't camp and I didn't tunnel anyone.
If I played that clean of a game and got that result, what about people who did actually camp or tunnel?

If you do not play too many licensed killers, it might be a good idea to smurf. You do not really need perks at low mmr.
I play Nemesis and Pinhead.
And I don't really want to smurf, but yeah, I'm sort of running out of options.
Maybe I'll become the only Console Nurse main.
-
Here are the videos I promised, all of these are after the October 19th patch.
https://youtu.be/LIJRawX0B6EThis one is just that incredible aim dressing. I don't know if it's specifically Console, but it seems to happen more frequently there. It happens enough that good Survivors have learned to try to force it to happen.
https://youtu.be/2vQ3UyROoW4Huge freeze against Oni. Got flashbacks to Resident Evil.
https://youtu.be/IDFyDeBlEv0This one highlights the de-sync issues with Console. Watch where the girl goes down at and look where she ends up.
And finally we have yet another cheater (with our beloved globe icon) whilst my Crossplay was off. I confirmed with the two other Survivors in the lobby that they also had Crossplay off. My game was subsequently crashed due to about seventy million firecrackers being set off in front of my face.

@Seanzu said:
Oh well - a few months ago when survivor queues were bad killers just said it's because all the killers are leaving because killer isn't fun and too hard, now the shoe is on the other foot I guess that just means all the survivors are leaving because it isn't fun or too hard.
I think it has something to do with high MMR in my region.
I would imagine it's difficult to get to high MMR as Survivor because it's almost entirely reliant on your teammates.
Also, because I don't want to quote you twice, if you haven't figured out what my crusade is, respect.

That's ... probably not the case. Unless you think Otzdarva has low MMR -- just looked at the VOD of his last stream, and his first match took 18 seconds to get a lobby and his second took a whopping 16 seconds. I'm guessing he's not playing at low MMR, so the idea that a short wait time = low MMR doesn't really hold water (if anyone has high MMR, it would be him, no?).
The SBMM system still prioritizes (I believe, at least) putting people into games over "fair" matchmaking -- it's why during the evening hours, when survivors and SWF groups are at their most common, killer queues are almost always instantaneous -- they were prior to the implementation of the system, and they are still that way, due to the imbalance of people playing certain roles.
Crossplay being off definitely is going to skew those times. I'm on console and have crossplay on -- definitely have run into a couple of suspicious things that I thought might have been hackers, but when the game can be so buggy at times, it's honestly hard to tell.
I'm still getting 20 minute queues, for the record.
It's 11:00 PM here
-
Let's not divide ourselves.
It's not toxic Survivors vs Killers or toxic Killers vs Survivors.
It's non-toxic people vs toxic people.
-

Two clips back to back of a single game and I got screwed over cuz the killer was invisible because the game wasn't registering the killer there, and once again couldn't move. Turn down volume, loud beeps ahead.

No need for that. You know how you behaved. If what they write it is totally unfair and unreasonable, then you know that you didn't do anything morally wrong. Sometimes it still bothers, but as long as you know that you behaved in a correct, fair and respectful way you should just block them and move on. (At least in this case I guess you cannot do anything else)
What helps sometimes, if you feel like you have might been unfair to someone, is being honest and understanding.
Yeah, I feel like being told to "open my arms with sharp objects" is pretty unreasonable.
But maybe that's just me.

Hmm it kind of sounds like you tunneled and camped one special person and that this person is very upset because it wasn't a one time thing. I had 2 "stalkers" or whatever you wanna call it. They kept tunneling and camping me whenever I got them as killer, letting everony else get out. They did write gg :) after each game, which was just a disgusting sadistic provocation. I recorded the incidents and submitted a ticket for each time it happened. Haven't seen those two around, so I hope they did something about them.
Gotta be honest, if you did to this person what my "stalkers" did to me I can 100% understand why you got those messages.
It's true words can hurt, but behaviour can hurt, too. Not saying it is ok to write something like that (as I wrote I recorded everything and (hopefully) suceeded in them getting banned, but my thoughts might have been comparable). Some kind of behaviour isn't ok neighter and one cannot expect to not get a comment on that.
I guess what I am trying to say is, that you should reflect on your actions and take responsibility for your part in that story. People tend to believe that any behaviour is ok, as long as it isn't against the rules. Well guess what: Some kinds of behaviour will make people write you a text (and some might even do so just beacuse they're frustrated or still kids). But one should know if there is some truth in it and if they should adapt their behaviour if they're getting a lot of rude messages. (I myself got about five rude messages since I started playing this game, not as rude as yours though, but that must be due to me playing fair unless I'm provoked a lot)
This was the 2nd time I've ever played them.
They didn't do great the first time but they had a really bad game the 2nd time.
Nobody got targeted, I can give you a play-by-play if you want.
-

I'm on ps4 with cross play on and my killer wait times are very short in the evenings.
I've only encountered 2 hackers in the last year, so I guess I'm lucky.
Maybe.
I just waited for 22 minutes to get a Spirit game on Haddonfield where my Ruin was cleansed within 30 seconds and where all the gens were done in under 6 minutes.
I just literally can't keep doing this. I'll never be able to lower my MMR in a reasonable amount of time.
-
@NomiNomad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2583167#Comment_2583167
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if hackers somehow ######### the queues even more.
Then, like you already said, even if you do get a match, there's a chance you won't be able to play because BHVR is a competent company that cares about their game, especially during an event.
Yeah, basically.
Crossplay on will increase my hackers and but maybe decrease my waiting times.
Crossplay off decreases hackers but increases wait times.
-
@NomiNomad said:
You play with cross-play off, right? That definitely affects it, but that's still ridiculous.
It'll probably be the same with it on thanks to the hackers infesting the game

so then you do get into a match and just get clapped by pallets + constantly bamboozled by survivors that know where the speedy blind girl is at all times
brutal
though if want a random anecdote, a friend of mine was winning a 2 party streamer game on haddonfield and went to pick up someone and then crashed
Sometimes I do. The other 50% of the time the Survivors run in a straight line while I phase.
-
You won't catch any decent Survivors in 15 seconds lol

This is pretty much the best case scenario for survivors once NOED is activated.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2582481#Comment_2582481
I won't argue that, I share pretty much the same sentiments though I'd still say NOED is seen in lower MMR lobbies because it can at least get you one kill when otherwise you wouldn't have gotten any.
You aren't entitled to a 4-man escape.
A 3-man escape is still a win for your team and a loss for the Killer.

I think all the Series S are digital-only.
If I'm gonna get next-gen I'd like it to be significantly better, ya know?
But at this point maybe I should just grab one, doesn't seem like prices will be down at any point soon.
