That said - yes, it sucks. I've had a rash of survivors going AFK and somehow using snowmen to avoid getting crows, stalling the game out for ages. I wish this sort of thing didn't happen on either end.

I did myself today. It's completely possible to hold games hostage for an hour. It's not even really hard.

People who talk about the Survivor rulebook as if it's a thing are hysterical. As I've matured in my Killer experience, I've come to realize the truth about the rulebook. Yes, there are some weirdos who really do believe it, but it's mostly just asking people to not be a dick.
I don't really blame you for DC'ing. If the Blight wants to play that way, he can reap what he sows.

It's an odd bug to say the least.
I was able to replicate it on several different killers; first test was swapping between two different loadouts with the same add ons in the same order and then to the third with the order reversed.

It appears that as long as the addons are in the same order, everything is cool.
If they aren't, I guess it freaks out.

You should try doing the same test I did above to confirm the cause, which seems to be switching to loadouts that use at least one of the same addons but in a different slot compared to the other loadout.
It would appear to be that way.

It's like this at the beginning of every event.
You get a lot of sweats and people not interested in playing the event.
It dies down eventually. A lot of Killers also probably have some bad memories from last year.

I try this but I have so much emphasis on having fun over winning that there are no equivalently bad killers to put me and my friends with.
One of the best memories I have in this game is when I was picked up right next to the escape, and one of my teammates (a random), while trying to get a flashlight save, accidentally escaped the trial. Laughed our asses off over it for like a half hour.
Yeah me and my dumbass friends have no equivalently dumbass Killers to match with

I suspect, especially with impactful DC's (DC's not on death hook) included, that the Solo Q Kill Rate is probably close to 80%.

You just really don't want to give the killer the benefit of the doubt, do you? That's literally what these forums are.
That's not the benefit of the doubt that's the average game.
Most Killers, when paired with Survivors of equal or lesser skill, do not struggle for downs.
Most Survivors are NOT good.
Maps do not spawn enough pallets to support them dropping them instantly.
Most teams aren't capable of gen rushing to make their teammates who aren't able to loop not a HUGE liability.
Not every Killer gets run for 5 gens. I'd bet most chases at average MMR are 30 seconds or less.

That's dangerously broad, what you're saying. I think it's very obvious that people defend stuff that they use. But if we invalidate their argument just because of that, then what? No balance discussion at all? "Wins they maybe didn't deserve" is pushing it. If anything, that describes the survivors. I don't know if you've seen teams who are efficient on gens, but they can pretty much get owned in chase non-stop yet 3 get out.
....so one might say they are smart for playing to their strengths?

Not sure if it still works the same but when I tried this on Xbox, all they had to do was friend me (I had no say in that) and then they could message me.

I havent used xbox ever. Only ps4. Very recently moved to PC though. Those "offensive" messages, Im a little suprised they didnt get a ban. They seem like they're right on the verge of a ban. Admitting ddos wont get you banned I think, only "offensive" messages. That last one would definitely have gotten like a 7 days ban on PSN. Those first two Im not sure.
These were ones where I went out of my way to try to send screenshots to Xbox to get them reviewed by an actual person.
No luck, they said they didn't technically break any rules.

Pissed off a clan of booters. There's about twenty of them and they have access to good software.
Only thing I can do is lobby dodge them and hope they didn't have time to notice me either as Killer or Survivor.

I figure telling someone to kill themselves is fairly against the rules. No ban.
This guy who DDoS'd me for multiple hours. No ban. Funny story about him tho. He tried to hit someone off who lived on a military base, apparently. Turns out, the military gives a ######### about that and prosecuted him. Heard through the grapevine, so take it with a grain of salt.
They kept going for flashlight saves and DC'd after I downed a guy who got unhooked with BT. I didn't even pick them up. Spammed me with invites and messages.
So as you can clearly see, there are ways to get around the system and Xbox doesn't really give a ######### about it. I think I have more but I'd actually have to look for them and I don't really feel like doing that right now.

Thats exactly how it works. Report the message they sent you. They will get a ban. Im not talking about the DBDs report system.
I can give you any number of screenshots that people DIDN'T get banned from.

It ######### sucked for me. There's a lot of people I need to avoid and when Anonymous Mode was on, it was hell and I couldn't play DBD.
