And then they instantly work on it after the kick, what’s the issue? You’re also wasting your power then when it could’ve pushed a survivor off the 3 gen for its entire duration. Doesn’t seem like any good reasons here.
I'm not even really sure why I responded tbh.
There's not a reason that you'd accept.

Could you imagine what they would say if you accidentally do something wrong like an accidental sandbag or waste a pallet lol, I know there are gameplay issues, but I couldn't imagine how toxic people would be.
Listen to CoD lobbies and you've got a pretty good idea lol

What’s the reasoning?
Camping, 3-gens and the fact that Guards can kick Survivors off gens by kicking them.
-
@Blueberry said:
Guards kicking needs to be effected by perks. It's on the verge of useless otherwise.
Kicking a gen without perks is a waste of time and hurts you more than helps but in this case you're actually also wasting your power and making yourself an m1 killer with no ability for the cooldown in order to do it as well. Just makes zero sense.
That should never happen.

He's clearly been driven mad.

She does need some buffs.
But I'm not convinced she's in a super terrible spot. She has one EXTREMELY lethal playstyle.
I'd change her teleport cooldowns and maybe give her a small movement speed bonus while De-Manifested. Maybe 125% but that's it.

You can basically copy & paste this text onto almost every meta Surv Perk or Red Addon.
Adrenaline/Unbreakable/Syringes/BNPs/Dead Hard/etc./etc.
Like how often do those perks/items carry the most average survivors through matches they shouldnt have won?
You cannot glue yourself to that one strong perk that killers have until it gets butchered (like corruption/ruin/noed/etc) while merely every surv meta perk is carrying their mistakes.
Devs have to lift soloQ communication until it is en par with swf.
Otherwise there will never be balance in this game.
Right now the game is so disgustingly surv sided and SWF is utterly broken. And still, survs get upset about one perk they cannot counter by just brain afking...
(small tip, dont 3 gen yourself and dont do a kicked gen if someone is in chase if the killer has erruption :) )
The game really isn't that Survivor-sided anymore.
The game tends to side towards whoever wants to play meaner.

That's impossible. Either the killer's weak and that's good for the survivor, or he's strong and that's bad for the survivor. You can't have a killer that's boring to play as AND play against. People play the killer, or know how to play against the killer, for a reason.
No it's not lmao.
Freddy isn't strong. What's the counter to pallet Freddy? Hope you don't pick the wrong pallet. That's dumb and boring.

I'm saying you should consider your teammates and not give up. What do you gain by giving up? Nothing. I'm also adding if you're burnt out you should consider taking a break for your own health instead of playing and getting more burnt out. If, overall, you're not having fun which is reducing your ability to handle in-game inconveniences why not take a break and play when it becomes fun again?
It's entertainment, nothing more. If it's overall not entertaining you're not doing yourself a favour by not taking a break.
I play for my friends. They want to play and want me to play alongside them. I've tried to take breaks before. Doesn't work.
Our only other option is Overwatch 💀💀💀

Be factual please, where was i wrong. I'm not angry at all, i'm just not afraid of saying it. I'm absolutly relaxed, i haven't been playing DbD in so long yet i see people talk about the same problems over and over again, each after year, chapter after chapter, nothing changes and nothing will. IT's how DbD and BHVR operates.
The path is set and has been set a really long time ago.
If you enjoy it then fine, it's in your right and i have absolutly nothing against it but you can't deny the reality that veterans carry the game while casuals give BHVR the quick money flow.
You can't deny the game is easy access and requires barely any understanding at all.
You can't deny it's an Horror Action Game and not just hey lets CHILL. It can be a Party game for Survivors but that shouldn't negate what the game is meant to be. But reality is that in terms of Survivors vs Killer, SWF is a really big advantage when used to it's potential. IT's problematic even for the greatest killer players let alone the everyday killer player.
IF there wasn't the chance to party up then the game would retain a higher level of it's Horror Action aproach. And because of that feeling it would also require more survivors to pay more attention.
Maybe then survivors wouldn't 3 gen themselves as much, maybe more survivors would know how to loop, would know how to play against campers, etc, etc. Which would increase the base level of the skill for everyday survivors.
OR they'd still leave the game...
Matter of fact is even the game being as easy access as it is, PEOPLE LEAVE ALL THE TIME. It's not just DbD, it's in every other game aswell.
Where do you think the "Gaming Journalist Difficulty" MEME came from? Because most people want casual gaming experiences. They want pretty graphics, they want big shock value but they want it without beeing asked to have to do something for it.
Demon Souls was a FLOP on release. Dark Souls 1 was a FLOP on release and it took years of Lore diggers and speedrunners to make the game a Cult Following into Mainstream acceptance.
Since then yeah Dark Souls got big but thankfully the game didn't went and lowered all of it's standards to be accessible. GIT GUD.
Do you know what's the % of people with Platinum Trophy in Bloodborne for example? It's a very very low % of players. There's more people who quit it without doing the first story boss than there is people who got the Platinum.
And the same argument applies to so manny other games.
DbD as a game cannot escape this aswell. And there's so manny casuals that it's just a waste of MONEY to not make games for those people. But the bad side is then you have a game that doesn't satisfy either side and neither role.
DBD won't be successful without either group.
Projects that don't make money get dropped and buried. That's what your asking for.
Your asking for F13. No money, no development, dead game.

1) Yes, at the cost of not running other perks. With SBTFL, you would be able to hit body blocker and then hit borrowed time proc, and hit again in quick succession. With an aura reading perk (ex: floods of rage), you'd be able to track unhooked survivors more efficiently. With BBQ, you could probably be able to do 2 in 1 (pressure both survivor and gen they're working on).
Now I'm not saying anti-gen perks are weak, but if your goal is to tunnel and camp - there are better ways to do it. Also, your example is "ideal scenario" - a generator is close to the hooked person, no one is working on it, and it's also at least 50 % done so that regression is useful + no one goes to tap it.
This, again, works really in 3 gen more than early to mid-game. Not disagreeing that this scenario happens and it's strong for killers, but usually, killers need to go to another side of the map to pressure a good gen unless they get instadowned next to a gen they're working on lol.
2) You lose 5 % when you miss an overcharge skill check, which is like what - 4 seconds? lol. And if they keep missing overcharge skill checks, then these are baby survivors. The value of that perk goes dramatically lower once people actually know you have it and pay focus. I tested it before and it didn't do much at a high level - I might test it again. With that being said, I think Eruption is superior to overcharge a lot of the time.
I don't know what to tell you. I don't think the Survivors I'm playing against are stupid but CoB and Eruption is all I need to win 95% of my games, most people are bad and the matchmaker isnt good.
Never said you don't need anti-gen perks to win the game. In fact, I agree and it's a must needed. I do think Call of Brine is A tier perk (S tier in 3 gen) and I'd put Overcharge as B tier. Though I would not take them both at the same time personally. Maybe on killers who have ways to get around the map.
Missing an Overcharge skill check removes 15% of progress. It's a MASSIVE deal.
It's also considerably harder than DS. It spawns earlier, moves faster and is smaller.

Then how about the person who's pipping up at Iri and wants to turn a bad situation into a safety pip? There's a small chance to win at what you described, very small but possible, but a much better chance to not depip at least if the match lasts seven minutes. At a 3v1 that's possible but a 2v1 is basically hoping the Killer is nice enough to take mercy. By looping for what you can you're helping your teammates which is awesome but if someone just gives up then even the hope of getting a safety pip is probably gone. Why wreck someone else's progress? Get whatever BP you can, try to learn what you can, and at least you know you didn't intentionally wreck someone else's day.
So you're saying that I should stall a forgone conclusion and burn myself out more so that my teammates can MAYBE keep their imaginary DBD points?
I just had a match with 7 hooks at 5 gens. You're telling me I should stay in that match and not let go on hook? The game is over.
-
@lemonsway said:
That happens because the game doesn't require anything from survivors. Until the game starts demanding something from survivors and only the decent to good and great players remain then will you see a healthy survivor playerbase.
The game is made for the Casuals who come here and want to use a Horror Action Game as a CHILL MOMENT.
DBD ISN'T CHILL and it SHOULD NEVER BE CHILL.
DBD SHOULD NEVER BE FOR CASUALS.
The problem with the Modern World is EVERYTHING IS FREE AND EASY FOR EVERYONE. EVERYONE THINKS THEY'RE ENTITLED TO SOMETHING.
THE YOUNG GENERATION DOESN'T KNOW ######### ABOUT LIFE AND GET EVERYTHING EASY.
Worse part is BHVR only cares about those people because those people will give them money. But guess what, if DbD is existing today is because of the ones that endured all the BS until now and not because you made CASUALS PLAY THE GAME. There would be no GAME FOR THE CASUALS if the same people day in and day out didn't play the game for years.
That's what CASUALS don't understand when veterans complain about the game. They've been there and they've played it, they already know what the issue is but MONEY talks and CASUALS SPEND ALOT OF MONEY.
2021 First Resident Evil Chapter, the gamegot it's highest peak of players on STEAM, 100k players on STEAM. But what happened after!?
The exact same thing that happens all the time, the game lost 60 to 70k players since then, meaning the CASUALS CAME, BHVR GOT THE MONEY and then CASUALS LEFT and here we are again in the same loop...
This happens every year...The same people that carried the game until 2021 are carrying the game through now after the CASUALS LEFT.
CASUALS = MONEY
VETERANS = GAME EXISTS
This is a shockingly bad take.

However, if it's we're facing Pinhead or I got tunneled or something like that then stick it out for 5 or 10 minutes instead of wrecking the match for everyone else.
A 3v1 at 5 gens isn't winnable in Solo Q.

1) So what's the problem? If a killer can pressure gen, make it back to hook, and then get a down quickly then he should be rewarded for it no? Additionally, the person who is unhooked is not injured since the killer didn't camp so body blocking should be very easy to set up. Lastly, if killer went to gen, he probably wouldn't make it hook instantly. You can hold W as an unhooked survivor and waste loads of time. Every time I go kick gen as a killer, they unhook rather instantly when they are efficient.
2) Good players can hit them consistently. Will they miss some from time to time? Absolutely, but the impact of them missing it "from time to time" is not what will make killer win the game on average.
And I don't know why you are complaining about the overcharge + cob combo. Killer has to walk to the gen and pressure it specifically to get value out of it. A survivor hitting a skill check (or tapping as in the case of the cob) negates all that effort rather instantly. Now killer needs to go again to that gen, kick it, and not commit to a chase. This is literally a DREAM scenario for survivors unless there is 3 gen setup. I can see how killers not committing to chases can be boring, but it's actually great situation for survivors if they want to win the game.
Sometimes you get cucked by bad RNG with PR, in my experience, it doesn't happen often. You can usually make a PR hook.
It happens decently often, especially with survivors' body blocking. I run Agitation with PR, and still I don't get PR every time I down someone lol.
None of these perks INDIVIDUALLY are too strong. When they are put together though...
I disagree heavily. BHVR has gone out of its way to make anti-gen perks not be synchronized together. You can't use PR with Deadlock. You can't use any gen-kicking regression perks if Eruption procs it. DMS prevents you from kicking gens completely. Overcharge and Call of Brine do synchronize but I don't think that combo is as strong as you think unless it's 3 gen scenario.
What BHVR should do is nerf 3-gen scenarios (by reworking gen placements, or maps themselves) and buff early game gen pressure of killer. Although 3 gen is strong it's also rather straightforward counterplay from the survivors' side when the map is not super stupidly laid out. So it's debatable how much 3 gen should be nerfed.
1) That wasn't the argument. The argument was about proper use of gen regression. You'd have to leave the hook sure, but you can pressure two people and someone has to tap the gen you kicked.
2) You don't get good players every match. Unless you think the MMR system actually works lmao. Most matches have one person who can't hit ANY Overcharge. Some matches everybody can hit them, though. Depends on how many times a Killer kicks a gen in a match. Few Survivors can hit an Overcharge that they aren't expecting, so you'll almost always get value out of the first one.
I don't know what to tell you. I don't think the Survivors I'm playing against are stupid but CoB and Eruption is all I need to win 95% of my games, most people are bad and the matchmaker isnt good.

You said it yourself; go play something that's more enjoyable for you until you're less tilted and can play normally. I'd like BHVR to nerf tunneling and camping to the ground and give Killers chase buffs and incentives to hook multiple times but until that happens you don't have the right to wreck the match for other people because you're upset because you got tunneled.
If you're that tilted finish the match, log off, tell BHVR your feelings, play something else or do whatever you need to in order to cool off but don't wreck the match for other people that haven't done anything wrong and are counting on you.
Edit: Unless you are in a 4 person SWF. In that case, that's between you and your friends.
I do play normally.
Unless it's clear the game is over, I don't DC or suicide.
I'm saying I consider it when I'm getting a horrible experience and I really don't blame people for leaving something they aren't enjoying.

1) Should've unhooked when you had a chance and not greeded.
2) Why are you so disingenuous regarding the effort, requirements and counterplay of these perks?
Overcharge can be countered by hitting skill check, additionally, it's slowdown has to ramp up.
Call of brine can be countered by doing a millisecond worth of gen.
Eruption requires a killer to down someone and hit gen and do it in a fast way, else it's literally a useless perk if they complete the gen.
Scrouge Hook Pain Res can only work on selected hooks and is RNG-dependent.
All of these perks are strong in some scenarios and weak or even useless in others. Sounds balanced to me.
3) I'm talking about pre-nerf Ruin, not "OLD OLD Ruin"
The teams that I would take 4 slowdowns against (I do not) won't let me kill someone at 5 gens.
If they won't let you kill someone at 5 gens, then they are probably good at looping too. This means that you likely won't get much use out of your anti-gen perks anyways. And we can safely say, they can tap gen to prevent things like call of brine or overcharge ;)
1) They would? I have the ability to use my eyes and ears. It ain't hard to follow someone recently unhooked.
2) Most players can't hit Overcharge consistently. Even good Survivors (not me) get cucked by a 4'oclock Overcharge every so often. Also, that whole starts at 75% regression thing doesn't matter if you use it with CoB iirc.
Call of Brine also isn't a simple tap and go if you use Overcharge.
Eruption doesn't work like that? You need to kick a gen and then down someone. Applies to multiple gens, nothing you can do to get rid of it and no time limit.
Sometimes you get cucked by bad RNG with PR, in my experience, it doesn't happen often. You can usually make a PR hook.
None of these perks INDIVIDUALLY are too strong. When they are put together though....
3) Ah, whoops my bad. Old ruin just brings up OG ruin for me.
They're fine at looping. I think Oso is probably one of the best loopers I've ever had the agony of going against. It's less the looping but more the bodyblocks. I did manage to 12-hook them on The Game as Legion with 3(?) gen perks. Overcharge, CoB and Eruption. 3-gens are very difficult to break out of. I was getting my ######### kicked in but managed to hold a 3-gen and wait for the inevitable mistake. One 4'oclock Overcharge and an out of position Ace later and the game is over since that gen lost 50% and the other survivors are now unable to do anything for 30 seconds.

That, in general, you are being selfish if you DC? Unless you queued with a 4 person SWF that is 100% true. As soon as that ready button is pressed you agreed to play the game as intended and the other players are expecting you to play as such. If you DC you just sabotaged your entire team and made it much harder for them to accomplish what they want to because of your personal inconvenience. That's a perfect example of selfishness in most cases.
I say most for the same reason I said specific. If it's for health reasons or real life concerns, hey, stuff happens and that's far more important than someone doing a tome challenge. But if you DC because you don't like the Killer or the map or your ego is hurt because you got beat in chase that is 100% completely and unequivocally selfish and saying but Nurse or but tunneled is just an attempted excuse for being selfish. Anyone who does so is a terrible team player and needs to either play Killer, queue with a 4 person SWF or not play a game where other people rely on you.
I will be selfish when I see a completely hopeless game. I probably won't DC but I'm not going to try when I see a mismatch. Why would I EVER invest myself in a match like that?
Am I going to DC after being tunneled for the 6th time that night? Dunno. But I'm going to seriously consider playing a more enjoyable game rather than not be able to play the game.
Whenever NMCKE comes back you can ask them. I had a 5-gen chase the other night (Shattered Square) after the Killer decided to try to tunnel me. Still died but everyone else escaped,, I thought eh, that's a W. Then I keep getting tunneled. Suddenly, it isn't a W anymore. They and my other friend tried to sacrifice themselves for me, didn't matter. The Killer wanted me gone and the held a 3-gen for 20 minutes. Nobody wanted to play that game and I decided to just get off.
Go ahead, sue me for getting sick of that #########.

Explain to me how anti-gen perks make tunnelling and camping "more effective".
It doesn't make sense for so many reasons:
1) Killer actually has to leave the hook to make use of anti-gen perks
2) Killer actually has to hook survivors multiple times to make use of anti-gen perks
3) There are no slowdown perks that actually are passive and don't require a killer to do anything. The only such perk is deadlock which is not that great on its own. Corrupt Intervention even punishes you for playing well.
Even the old ruin/pop was one of the greatest incentives for the killer to pressure multiple map areas and multiple survivor which is why I said that antigen perks are a blessing in disguise for survivors.
By all means, if your strategy revolves around tunnelling and camping, you might as well take deadlock and the other 3 non-gen perks. Because running antigen perks and tunnelling/camping at the same time is such non optimal way to do it.
I think you are confused about the fact that tunnelling is effective, and has nothing to do with antigen perks. If you tunnel out someone at 5 gens, the outcome is already most likely decided - whether you run random build or 4 anti gen perks.
1) Correct. Nothing is stopping you from returning to the hook to pressure two people after applying Call of Overcharged Eruption to a gen.
2) I mean, sometimes. Overcharge and CoB work regardless of your ability to hook people. Eruption requires you to down someone, not really too hard. PR does require a hook.
3) Tbh I don't think old ruin is a good example. It only really punished new players and it punished them HARD. PGTW was okay but it really only helped you win harder.
The teams that I would take 4 slowdowns against (I do not) won't let me kill someone at 5 gens. I think the best I could do would be at 2 gens. In that scenario, the game is pretty much unwinnable for them if I'm stacking anti-gen perks. I figure if it worked against the top Xbox team, it'll probably work against most everyone else.

I don't tunnel, camp, etc and I only two hook survivors if I see a survivor played streamers or a flan. Even then, on games where I've decided I'm going to farm, I still see DCs even though the survivors are going to escape. BHVR needs to really strengthen the penalties for DCing.
Bold of you to speak for the entire Survivor playerbase.

She's good versus average teams that dont really care about her phasing sounds.
I've found her to be rather lackluster against good teams who do listen and exploit her phasing sounds. At most loops, you still have an advantage but it's FAR more fair than it used to be.
So I think her popularity took a hit because if she's good at knocking around average players, well, there's more fun Killers that are also viable against average players. And at a higher level, she's not BAD, per se, but other Killers do what she does better.
She strikes me as a medium-high level Killer. She's not quite Nurse or Blight but she's clearly a step above some other Killers

Oh damn I haven't thought about Killer Cubes in YEARS

Playing from EU and there's a DC in about 50% of my games.
We actually got matched into an EU server for some reason today.
200 ms ping was not fun.

I'd like to see it returned to 5 seconds.
As it stands, DS is hardly an inconvenience. I don't see many people running it nor is it impactful when I get hit.

Fov slider. Motion sick players want to play to without a perk slot lost.
We would like that, yes.

Are you sure that's the case? I've never managed to run away from a loop without getting hit even if I started running the moment I saw the kneeling animation starting.
Yes, the Knight stops moving completely.
The Jailer and The Carnifex move at 4.1 m/s, iirc. Survivors move at 4.0 m/s and standard Killers move at 4.6 m/s. The Assassin moves at 4.4 m/s.
The Carnifex chases for 24 seconds, The Jailer and The Assassin chase for 12 seconds.
Likewise, there is now about a half second delay from when the Knight goes into his power before he can place Guards.

I don't know. I think it's obviously a bug but it would be really really funny if BHVR nerfed both Legion and Freddy in such quick succession.

Knight does lose major distance for sending a Guard out. He completely freezes. Artist slows down, sure, but she doesn't stop moving entirely.
The Guards are all slow. If you start running as soon as you get spotted by them, they cannot catch up.
Hold W, run as soon as you're spotted by a Guard and never 3-gen against him.
