And so are stats from 6 patches ago.
Which is more reliable? An old, outdated set of statistics?
Or a smaller sample size collected from yesterday?
The official statistics from BHVR taken from the entire population of the game.
vs
A third-party, self-reported and extremely exclusive website that only a handful of extremely dedicated DBD players know about?
Gee, I wonder which.
I mean, you could try to ask BHVR for some stats. Who knows, maybe they'll indulge us.

Then at least let me know when I'm against a SWF lobby so I can dodge it.Yeah, that's never going to happen. At best, BHVR might consider allowing people to know whether they hit a SWF in the endgame, and they've already shot that idea down on the forum.
I'm 100% soloQ and see your point, but its not going anywhere.
I'd honestly love to see SWF revealed in the post-game. Good players can already tell.
It'll just check some people's egos.

Except they didn't actually nerf DH in a way to solve its core issues. After the first hook, I'll have to go back to assuming that EVERY survivor has it. Which means no lunging against injured survivors. It means sniffing survivor booty trying to bait out a perk that might not even be there.
CoH got sideways nerfed. It's still REALLY good. 8 second altruistic heals. It still gives 20 second self heals with Self Care.
And Pain Res is too RNG dependent and too unreliable to be used. You MIGHT get one or two good uses out of it a match.
And you will still have to deal with the third health state after the first chase on each survivor.
*16 second altruistic heals.
Also, it doesn't apply to Self-Heals. You need someone else to heal you.

All of the above.
If given the choice, I don't want to play against cheaters using third party software for a competitive advantage. There's a reason why comms aren't in the game; it nullifies half the perks, and puts killers at a severe disadvantage, since they still have to bring info perks.
Survivors on comms cam nullify half of my perks, too. Franklin's? Useless against a SWF since they'll just drop their medkits after the first hit. Endfury? All of them will just predrop. Bear traps? If one survivor sees it, they ALL see it and can easily dodge it.
I could go on, but you get the point.
Then stop playing DBD. Most Survivors who play with friends aren't good. 99% of the time, you can beat them easily. You are using SWF as an excuse.
No matter how hard you rage, BHVR has already said that it isn't cheating to use Discord or use Steam.
It's not cheating to play with friends.
It's not cheating to use Xbox Live Parties or PSN Parties.
How would you even regulate that lmao?

Lol. Really? Bringing up 7 month old stats? Game has changed a lot since then. They gutted every slowdown perk and massively buffed survivors in every patch since. Ever wonder why they have never released any "updated" stats since?
Cause Nightlight shows about a 50% kill rate. That includes DCs, and survivors that kill themselves on first hook, screwing over the entire team.
Nightlight is completely unreliable as it is entirely self-reported and is much too small of a base to draw any meaningful conclusions.

Then at least let me know when I'm against a SWF lobby so I can dodge it. Let someone else go against that nightmare. But forcing me to play at a huge disadvantage against a group that basically gets all the info perks for free, and then some, is just brutal.
Oh?
Are you gonna dodge 2-mans? 3-mans?

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3394342#Comment_3394342
No. It's a huge un-nerf. With the original PTB, it's extremely easy to get 0 or 1 activations, especially in solo Q. New DH is 2 guaranteed activations, which is a huge boost.
The maximum limit was unrealistic. People usually aren't getting 6 DH activations on live DBD. The average would be 3, which is 1 per hook state. So the original PTB is realistically usually 0 or 1, with a much lower chance of 2 or 3.... and new DH is guaranteed 2.
And if the original PTB version went live, survivors would quickly find out they can easily get stuck with 0 activations, and would drop the perk.
Yeah, I think you're just determined to be stubborn which, more power to you, I suppose.
-
@Caiman said:

Guaranteed activations is why Dead Hard will remain a meta perk that everyone runs, because they don't have to do anything to earn it. It just happens passively, same as before. The only change is that now it can't happen during the first chase with any survivor. After that, it's the exact same meta as usual.
How many DH's do you think actually succeed?
As a percentage.

Bro, they don't give a crap about killers. Killers exist so that survivors have someone to loop and drop pallets on, before tbagging the gates with a 4 escape.
If they could replace killers with bots, they would, but it's no fun tbagging the AI. And all they care about is survivor fun. Gotta sell them Feng skins, after all.
You really like that line huh.

New DH is a huge un-nerf, compared to original PTB DH.
In the original PTB version, people that equip dead hard might get 0 activations from it, if they didn't safe unhook anyone. In the newer version, every survivor that equips dead hard gets 2 activations for free.
That's not an unnerf.
That's, at best, a change.
The maximum limit of the perk is far less but it has guaranteed activations now.
The perk is still bad though. It got nerfed extremely hard.

-"Then he's a bad Wraith player."
Ah yes certainly that is the issue. He has nearly 9k hours played and has been playing Wraith for 6 years. He plays DBD for a living - he must be bad at it. LOL.
-"Also, Killers did get basekit STBFL. 2 stacks of it."
So why not give survivors 2 seconds of BT? That's because 2 seconds of BT would not be useful. They could have just made STBFL base kit and it would have made killer a lot more enjoyable.
-"I take it you wouldn't care if all the Killer changes from 6.1.0 were reverted"
Against SWF teams killer was stronger before rather than after 6.1 but became better against solo players until the HuD update.
The upcoming patch will make killer "less unfun" but won't revitalize the role.
To make killer "fun" they need to go through with the second part of the plan. Just to remind you - Step one was to make Solo queue survivors closer to SWF players. The HuD update did that.
Step two was : Buff killers.
So where are the big killer buffs? I'd totally be fine with : here are +2 perk slots.
Yes. For anyone looking in, I'm saying this respectfully and I mean no ill by it. He plays DBD like it's 2018. The game has evolved past him and he isn't interested in catching up. I respect that he plays his own way. Playing DBD for a long time doesn't immediately make you good nor does playing it for a living.
You are comparing 2 seconds of BT with two stacks of STBFL. These things cannot be compared directly. They are completely different.
-
Sort of.
The bug was actually that every available pallet spawn was used, iirc.
That's been fixed.
The issue is that the map is dogshit and still spawns 20+ pallets that all chain together while also burning your retinas with its color scheme.

-"You ignore that Killers also got a buff by making their pallet breaks faster."
Truetalent made a video on this using Wraith to have maximum speed pallet breaking and even with something like 100% faster breaking it made no difference in chase. So the 10% pallet break speed was literally nothing.
"Survivors also got less of a speed boost after each hit and most importantly: +10 seconds of generator time, adding up to around +50 seconds over the match and improving all percentage based regression perks..."
Survivors also got base kit borrowed time - which was a meta perk. But now almost nobody uses BT because the base kit effect is so strong.
Every unhook gives the survivors +10 seconds. So while survivors "lost" 10 seconds across five generators they "gained" 10 seconds off the hook about 8 times per match. That's a net loss of 30 seconds.
The devs could have given killer base kit Fire Up or base kit Save the Best for last. Instead they gave paltry buffs that basically change nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Survivors now have 5 perks each thanks to base kit BT and the killer has 4 perks. Overall patch 6.1 was one step forward and two steps back for killer.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3394036#Comment_3394036
Exactly. DH needs to go down in usuage to where Pop is right now - dead.
Then he's a bad Wraith player.
Also, Killers did get basekit STBFL. 2 stacks of it.
With all your bemoaning, I take it you wouldn't care if all the Killer changes from 6.1.0 were reverted

This was an over-reaction, unnecessarily. They work through the feedback anyway, they still take the valid citicisim

It's mega awful that dead hard survived two meta shakeups, where so many people were hoping dead hard would get nerfed into uselessness. It's the most complained about survivor perk by a lot, and has been for a while. But now we still have to worry about every single survivor having the perk, because the un-nerf they just did was massive.
I'd seriously be fine if every healing nerf was reverted, if that meant dead hard would get deleted from the game.
Yeah.
The fact people actually think DH got better is delusional.
Two uses max per trial. Exhausts you. Can't use it first chase. Depends on the Killers ping. Still deactivates if you whiff.

Take a look at ones that actually think that this game should be balance in a way that makes it balanced for the top tier players like tru3ta1ent. And you'll start seeing a different side of things.
I am once again stating that I dislike people bringing up content creators because I am not allowed to criticize them.

There is a reason why the forums are often mocked, because often those kinds of people are seen as the face of it. Most of us killer mains who've played for a long time and actually understand both the micro and macro gameplay aren't widespread complaining. We recognized that the basekit healing changes were completely unreasonable and that the gen kicking meta wasn't healthy either. That being said, you do need some form of regression at higher mmr games but those whining, crying and proclaiming the game will die aren't of that caliber. Those are the kinds of people who were bruteforcing their way to victory by mindlessly stacking slowdowns and are upset that option is no longer viable. They'll have to learn to get better at chases and decision making like the rest of us.
The changes from the PTB are good and address the main problems, namely COH, DH and self healing. Some tweaks to some of the more problematic maps, a few addon passes for some killers and the game will be in a great spot. Not all of us are as deluded as some of the most biased people that live on the forums.
It's unfortunate.
There are a lot of good people here with incredible minds for the game.
I wish those people were a little louder and a little more recognized.

Lemme clear up DH as I'm seeing a few things on it.
You get unhooked or you kobe (use Deliverance), you will have Dead Hard proc'd and ready. You can be healed, Dead Hard is still there...when you are injured again and want to evade the hit and use your Dead Hard it's gone...until the next time you are unhooked. If you were successful in evading the hit (so you timed it right), Dead Hard is gone until the next time you are unhooked.
If you were not successful in evading the hit (you timed it wrong for example), Dead Hard is gone until the next time you are unhooked.
I hope that clears up some questions on it.
Yes, thank you

I’m saying you are acting like 2k is something to be proud of when in fact it shows that you didn’t win. And once again, the idea that balancing around top level play would kill the game is nonsense. All other games do it, many of which are more successful than DBD.

How is this in any way evidence of good play? 2 escaped. Also, just because the majority of survivors are bad doesn’t mean we should look the other way when it comes to comp teams. It doesn’t justify getting the killer demolished by top % survivors.
Could you state the first sentence differently please?
Yes, it does. We can balance for the top % but we should never balance around them. That's how you kill off the majority of the playerbase.
You'll find that when very good Killers and very good Survivors meet, it's actually fairly even.
The issue is that the matchmaker and MMR is not designed in a way that supports that.

14 seconds for survivor isn't that much of a deal. Also, the most popular totem spawns are well known and pretty obvious. On Ironworks of Misery for example, everyone knows the totem on the second floor of the main building and that place is so inconvenient that killers won't even bother going there to snuff the totem. Again, you are pretty much investing 14 seconds of your time so you and your teammates can get faster heals for an indefinite time, which is still huge.
Exponential has much more of a risk involved, since if the killer don't slug you won't get value out of it, and it is still a great perk since it can nullify a playstyle for just a tiny price. Of course, as a solo, your perk slots are more valuable since.you won't know the full build of your teammates, but on a SWF you can use those perks since it much easier to get synergy between builds.
Already addressed this.

The lack of self-heal is not a problem anymore now when it's back to 100% heal as well as the reverted changes to healing. Two survivors can still go and heal each other quickly without a problem.
There's no such thing as good or bad boon spots. Boons can be relit over and over. Hexes on the other hand are applied to random totem and random totem spawn points can decide if Hex will last long enough to do any job or not.
Who said anything about Hexes?
Again, like I said, you clearly don't understand WHY CoH was strong.
I don't think it's a bad perk now, just not really worth it unless you're a 4-man, which heavily limits it's usage.
-
@Green_Sliche said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3392748#Comment_3392748
Put a boon into a good place and you have a free grouping point for survivors where they can get help each other and get healed quickly. Boon still has nice 32M radius.
The update's main theme was to nerf 3 gen gaming and introduce hit-and-run meta for killers. Instead we get a classic killer nerf patch with no alternative present. Lack of self-heal from COH is nothing but mild inconvenience compared to what killer players will have to deal with when this patch goes live.
I personally expect the increase of tunneling and camping once again. The need of getting one survivor out of the game asap will now become a mandatory goal for slow and low mobility killers. This in turn will only make survivor experience worse because in some cases they will barely get any time in the match, but guess it's not much of the deal since there's always another game where things will better, right?
If you think that this CoH nerf wasn't harsh, then you clearly didn't understand what made it strong in the first place.
Oh, and there's more maps without good Boon spots (like Autohaven maps) as there are with good Boon spots (Ironworks).

Whether you're being sarcastic or not, gen-regress perks are just a necessity at higher-level/against coordinating SWFs
Duh.
"Against optimal players, you yourself must also play optimally." That's true.
99% of players don't play like that. You will not encounter them often and even if you do, a lot of times they're chill. The vast majority of players don't need more than one regression perk if they play smart. Problem is, most people just want an easy and chill game. So, they'll take the path of least resistance.
Like, I just played against a comp team a couple days ago as Artist. One gen regression perk, managed eight Hooks and two Kills on Ormond.
-
@GlamourousLeviathan said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3392522#Comment_3392522
The risk is minimal. Only one survivor needs to have the perk for all 4 to get value out of it. Survivors have 16 perk slots in total, so dedicating only one to get faster heals is pretty worth it. Also, the time to set up a boon isn't that big as long as you know totem spawns, so I don't see this "risk" of CoH.
The risk is high. 14 seconds spent on a totem is 14 seconds not on a gen.
Take this hypothetical scenario.
Most players will not know every totem spawn and some maps (Midwich, ######### off) have weird spawns. We'll say, considering this, that it takes 25 seconds to find a totem on AVERAGE. 14 seconds to Bless it. We'll say it's a small map and it only takes 10 seconds to run to the Boon range. Now, it's an 8 second heal, I think.
So, in total, we're looking at around a 75 second time investment, assuming the Killer doesn't snuff the Totem prior to you healing.
25 to find + 14 to Bless + 20 (two Survivors run to the Boon) + 16 (two Survivors healing) = 75 seconds of total time investment to heal once.
There are situations where it can be very good, but it won't be consistently good now that it's main strength (self-healing) was completely removed.

As soon as they removed the Self-Heal aspect of the perk, it was dead in Solo Q.
