You can say the same for Trickster.

Except that Knight has real map pressure

I could say it for a lot of Killers.

Legion, Knight, Trickster, Dull Merchant, etc etc

Oh boy. Okay. Well, if I don't mention a perk it's because I think it's okay or that it's so meaningless that it won't affect things.

Bamboozle: This perk is fine as is.

Brutal Strength: This perk is fine as is. DO NOT put this to 40% faster break.

Bloodhound: This is pretty bad, not a great effect.

Dissolution: Don't make it activate directly after hit. Maybe make it 2 seconds.

Grim Embrace: This is just as bad as the current one.

Haunted Grounds: This is, well, bad. It punishes Survivors for getting rid of totems.

Third Seal: It should NOT hinder Survivors.

Floods of Rage: Honestly, what is this. This is so overpowered I don't have words.

Shadowborn: Pretty not great design here. Maybe if it were like, 4 meters.

Trail of Torment: It needs to keep the aura reveal on the gen. Unless the 30 second cooldown is when the effect goes away.

Autodidact: It should guarantee 1+ skill check per heal.

Dark Theory: No. No. No. Absolutely not.

Up the Ante: 7% Haste is WAY too much.

  • I don't really mind either way.

SB just makes me have to track Exhaustion cooldowns mentally, which I don't like to do.

DH made me play macro, which I do like to do.

I wouldnt call it DREADFULLY killersided, because killers doesnt have very much good maps compair to survivor.

    It's pretty Killer-sided.

Pretty much every pallet is either unsafe or a death trap. The map is indoors, there's limited LoS and few windows.

  • @miniwengsel said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3414008#Comment_3414008

At the moment midwitch can be very hard for killers. WoO is very popular and on this map this perk can be rediculus, but yeah it is mostly killer sieded exept the hooks. If they ever killsitch midwich they need to fix hook spawns. (For example the hooks spawns work the same, but they spwan without looking on the top floor)

Since they started allowing Hooks to spawn inside the classrooms, I haven't had an issue.

Likewise, calling this map anything other than dreadfully Killer-sided is simply wrong.

Yes the +33% (not 50% btw) slower healing in general was very bad.

DH isnt dead if you dont see the slow return of DH you are blind. It needs to be deactivated after on use, because on good DH can be the lose for the Killer. DH is strong enough to be a one time use. (one in one round for each surv)

PLAY with CoH and you will see that the nurf isnt that big as you think.

And you point about Hyperfocus can be made for nearly every killer and survivor perk in the game. Some perks have these scenarios more often than others and I would say Hyperfocus scenarions happens more often if you compare it too other perks.

    It's 50% slower healing. 16 seconds to 24 seconds is 50% extra.

DH is actually not worth running for anyone outside of comp now. It's deactivated upon ANY use, whether it's successful or not, it still causes Exhaustion AND it's still completely dependent on the Killer.

CoH got a huge nerf. I don't expect a ton of people to fully grasp how massive it was, but I know a lot of the higher level players appreciate it. Removing the ability to Self-Heal was an absolutely massive (and needed) nerf.

Hyperfocus requires you to do one of two things. Either A, be very good at the game and be able to nail Great Skill Checks that get increasingly fast. Despite what some people may say, this is not easy. Or B, run a build centered around Hyperfocus. That means you'll be able to be tunneled and you'll have zero chase or info perks.

Perhaps the community have a different experience on the server they play at, but at South American servers I play both sides and I´m really giving up playing as killer, the genrush meta is real. Every match I see Prove Thyself and toolboxes and most gen regression perks are useless now.. they really need to work on toolboxes and perhaps make prove thyself 5% per player instead of 15%. As stated by OP, kicking gens most of the time serves no purpose, Overcharge is mostly useless against veterans and not sure about you guys, but I'm almost always facing SWF squads or at least a efficient trio.

There´s also map rng at work which varies a lot depending on which the killer you play. As survivor the solo queue experience is miserable but whenever I play with friends using voice chat we usually escape 3-4 per match.

Whenever I watch streams like Reds ou D3AD I wonder how they face certain groups that are really average because I rarely see tight matches as the ones I get daily. I often see 2-3 gens done in the first hook.

People can use Resilience (9%) which can combo with Friendly Competition (+5%), there´s Overzealous (+10%) and Prove Thyself (+15%) + toolboxes. So yea, neat.

I still get tunneled often and sometimes facecamped, but most of the times as survivor I can farm a ton more bps per game than as killer, even if I die. I don't care as much for a victory, but I wanted at least fun matches balanced for both sides.

I also don't see any difference regarding the rank, even if I play about 3 weeks after rank reset, I still get sweat matches as "Ash".

How do you know it's a SWF?

PT is good for you as a Killer. It means Survivors aren't being efficient. As for players like D3AD, they are very good and make regular players look like babies.

    Screenshot_20230429-181700_Xbox.jpg

These guys were all chill people and decent players. Even though I don't play Billy, I was still able to 4K despite the odds. I don't think it has much to do with the severs.

If people play to win, you've gotta play to win as well.

  • It's pretty difficult as Survivor at the moment.

It's probably a lot easier as Killer for me, personally.

Other than SM, the changes have been fairly positive.

  • He's a very good Killer.

Extremely difficult to deal with because of his intense macro.

  • It's sort of whatever.

It's annoying, I suppose. Makes me have to play slower and time when I chase people. Just one more thing to keep track of mentally, 4 different Exhaustion perk cooldowns.

I agree, I thought the same.

    I consider a 3k a win. 2k draw

    Honestly I dont have a set build right now, I cant figure one out. I play pretty much all killers, my most played killers would be ;

Nurse - SH : PR, Agitation, BBQ, Lethal.

Spirit - discordance, jolt, no way out, deadlock

Other killers I dont even have a solid idea yet, I just run info perks because gen regression feels so week.

I know its hard without gameplay to give tips, thanks ill keep these things youve said in mind.

I'd say to give PR another shot.

It's pretty damn good, you just have to be selective now.

  • Didn't you read the part where I said I'm using slowdowns and that I always play to win?

  • Eh.

I don't find it to be OP. It enables camping a bit too much and it's kinda boring, but I think it's fine.

I'd be more interested to see if PR gets adjusted further.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

The counter to him, like most anti-loop killers, is to just run forward. Delay down as much as possible, that's how you win.

Also, don't go to corners of the map.

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3414360#Comment_3414360

The OP was wanting actual advice. To me this was a little bit condescending and not very productive.

To the OP, what killers and builds are you currently running? What exactly do you consider a win? Those are important questions to answer when it comes to this.

One thing I will say is that tunneling is not everything in this game. A lot of people act like it’s always the best strategy to tunnel just one survivor out for the whole match. There are eventually going to be teams that know how to deal with that. Typically it’s best to be able to find someone early, get in a quick chase and get a quick down. At that point, you’ll need to force others off gens, this is where I recommend BBQ or Thrilling Tremors.

Once there’s a gen or two left, you need to keep track of who’s been hooked. If you get a chance, you need to get someone out if you can, and this is why it’s good to get at least one survivor to second stage by then.

Camping, tunneling, and slugging are strats that can be useful. It’s best to know when to use it, because they are not strats that you just do just to do if that makes sense.

Hopefully this was somewhat helpful, I tried my best to give advice without gameplay to go off of lol.

Eh, I might've read the title and the reply right above mine.

"I should be able to play as a killer without perks and addons and beat people I am more skilled than."

That kinda felt super entitled and I went off of that.

I should've read the actual post instead.

  • He's definitely not overpowered, he's just not very fun to play against.

  • @Dbdfan398 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3414360#Comment_3414360

Ok I get it, you're better than me.

Thanks for the advice, very helpful post. Could have gotten the same thing by not posting.

Like whats the actual point of this post? Its basically a longer version of git gud. No builds you use, or anything like that, just 4 sentences of you bragging how much better you are than me and because you arent running into these issues, I shouldnt be?

This is the problem with not seeing our MMR numbers, and the flaw of MMR itself. For all we know I am higher MMR ( unlikely but not the point ) and going against better survivors.

But because this isnt starcraft and we cant see our ranks, thats pointless.

This isnt a thing thats happened as a streak or a few bad games. Gens were flying for me before the nerf to gen regression, and now its worse.

It's extremely difficult to give advice without being able to see your gameplay.

If there's something wrong with how you play (not saying there is), then it won't matter what build I give you.

Nobody is bragging here. I shared my own experience. I understand that you are upset over how your games have been going, but that's not a reason to lash out at others who haven't shared your experience.

If you desperately want a build, here's what I've been running:

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Corrupt Intervention, No Way Out, STBFL, Surge, Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage and Lethal Pursuer.

My builds greatly depend on the Killer I'm playing but they generally don't have more than one gen regression perk.

    For example, Pinhead and Wesker.

    Pinhead's Loadout is the following:

SH:PR, SH:Floods, Franklin's and Lethal. I usually run some meme add-ons with it.

    Wesker's Loadout is the following:

SH:PR, Dissolution, STBFL and Bamboozle. I usually run Leather Gloves and Uroboros Tendril.

  • I dunno what to tell you.

I'm just not having trouble in most of my matches. I play to win, sure, but I'm generally using a single gen perk.

I'm not having trouble creating pressure or forcing Survivors into bad situations. We all have bad games, or a streak of them, every so often.

So for the 2nd time in a row you are ignoring my question.

Do you think that mario party, matches players together with MMR?

Because it's completely irrelevant to DBD's mutliplayer.

DBD's multiplayer has an MMR system. Mario Party was local multiplayer only.

  • Could also have Distortion or Shadow Step

  • @Veinslay said:

Sure man if I was 17 years old and had all day to play this game with no responsibilities, I could be amazing too. The fact is I'm not and have a real career. When I just want to chill out and play for fun at night, I shouldn't be getting matched against p100 squads that are there to troll or against resilient/adrenaline sweat teams that are playing against me like BHVR has a $50,000 check waiting for them when they escape. Somehow the biggest content creators don't seem to deal with this stuff though 🤷‍♀️

You also shouldn't be getting matched against complete baby teams that you can easily steamroll, like you seem to want.

Fact of the matter is, you probably have an extremely limited sample size. Content creators play FAR more games than either you or I. This raises the odds of the matchmaker tossing them people.

  • @Veinslay said:

They took off the DC penalty specifically for fog whisperers when the hackers were holding games hostage, it's not some ridiculous big stretch that they've manipulated the matchmaking to give them easy games to show them winning/having fun to their large audience. I'm not saying they have anything against me, I'm saying that someone has to play against those teams that are routed away from players they should be matching with.

    Uh huh.

Even if that were true, which it verifiably isn't, multiple streamers have spoken about how they don't like that. Tofu doesn't like to play Killer because he keeps winning too easily.

Personally, I think you're just making excuses for your own poor gameplay. The matchmaker sucks, we get it. However, it's just as likely to put you against someone you're better than.

  • @Emeal said:

Why is it a problem on console?

Due to how the controller functions and the lack of even basic settings, Boil Over is impossible to control on controller.

  • @Veinslay said:

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's pretty clear that something is amiss with the matchmaker when it comes to fog whisperers/larger content creators. Other people see it and have made content about it. Choy compared tru3 vs. otz during the afk no perks challenge and tru3 faced significantly harder survivors and teams while otz had matches where no one even had dead hard. tru3 gets sniped a lot and was kicked out of the fog whisperer program while otz is a game golden boy. nothing against him personally ofc. Just boot up an OhTofu or ScottJund stream on any given night and watch them stomp the hell out of survivors running into walls or hiding behind z walls. These dudes have 10k hours and play for a living while I, a console playing average killer player, get p100 players every other lobby

It's a conspiracy to say that BHVR manipulates the matchmaker because they have something against you and Tru3.

  • Oh yeah, of course.

    That's why Midwich was killswitched

  • @Reinami said:

Overwatch has a ranked mode. I'm talking about a game that, by the definition mentioned, does not have a ranked mode.

Do you think, that MARIO PARTY, matches people together using MMR?

Once again, DBD does not have a Ranked mode.

Overwatch has both a Ranked and Unranked mode.

Both of these systems use MMR numbers to determine matchmaking. The Ranked system uses both MMR and SR to determine matchmaking, SR is visible.

The Unranked mode uses a hidden MMR number to determine matchmaking. Now, that sure does sound familiar. That mode also does not penalize people for leaving.

  • There's not one, really.

You can either play in a 4-man and simply assume every game is going to be a 3-gen SM and bring gen rushing perks.

    orrrrrrr

You could just not play Survivor at all. That basically guarantees you'll never see a SM.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Why? I am seeing a lot Boil Over lately but they are doing almost nothing. I am still hooking them.

Because it is (depending on RNG) almost uncounterable on Console. I've been told it's also annoying on PC.

Idk probably. It's not really op or anything but it's just really annoying. A perk being annoying isn't really a good enough reason on it's own for it to be changed, but that's like pretty much it's only purpose, which is dumb. Maybe it could stun the killer for longer when you escape their grasp to fit the theme, then you run it w ds ig lol

I will literally take anything other than, "You can't move, you will never get out of this hallway and you cannot hook me."

-"also if you had to stack gen regression (using overbrine eruption) to win games and your complaining that its gone then you just were never good to begin with"

I was using 1 regression perk with most of my killers.

When I played Trapper I was using a combination like Overcharge+PR because that killer is trash compared to the good killers.

Your reply is not really very fair when you play against people who are in a 4 man SWF using BNPs and Hyperfocus, etc.

That's probably just as rare as seeing a god Nurse.

-"I'm pretty sure that they've spoken about how a Killer not attempting to pursue their objective and holding an infinite three-gen is holding the game hostage."

If you chase people and try to get hits then it's not holding hostage. If you are doctor and just chain shock so nobody can ever do anything then that is hostage taking.

Holding a 3 gen is completely inside the rules.

Refusing to chase Survivors and holding a 3-gen for an hour is not allowed inside the rules, iirc.

The only Killer who can do this, currently, is Skull Merchant.

Holding a 3-gen is fine. Holding a 3-gen until the server closes isn't.

Perks should never be "annihilated" to the point of literally being useless. If the perk is that problematic, then it should be reworked entirely, not just nerfed and then left to rot for years until they decide to change every perk again. Otherwise we are left, as usual, with the same 12 perks on both sides being any good, which just creates an endless cycle of metas, some of which are more annoying than others.

Unfortunately, Skull Merchant still gets use out of Overbrine.

  • Impossible? I don't think so, no.

Much more difficult? I believe that would be an accurate assessment.

    Overwatch :

    Small team sizes, check.

    Refill during casual matches, check.

Leaver penalty in non casual matches check.

    Cod:

Small team sizes, not the last time I played. Ergo individual DC less impactful.

    + Refill during casual

    Battlefield:

Even bigger team sizes making DC even more neglectable.

    + Refill during casual

    Apex/Fortnite:

Mostly free for all battle royal with separat solo/duo or team queue. Ergo less potential of teammates DCing when going in team and DC in solo are completely irrelevant since everybody else is also solo/duo.

All your examples are inadequate to compare to DBD since they all have measures to lessen the impact of DCs (refill) or the impact is already close to nonexistent (CoD, Battlefield). And the free for all battle royal Genre is the worst to compare DBD with to begin with, in my eyes.

Other examples of games i have played where DCs either have alternative measures in place or straight up get punished even in casual queue:

    Rainbow six siege:

    Team size small, check.

    Refill in casual, check.

    Penalty in ranked, check.

    Rocket league:

    Small team size, check.

Refill in casual, check. + Bots!

    Penalty in ranked, check.

    League of Legends:

    Small team size, check.

Refill in casual, nope. Straight up multiple 5/15 minute matchmaking timeouts.

    Penalty in ranked, check.

So DBD remains one of if not the only popular/big pvp game without any measure against DC or to lessen their impact. And therefore needs the DC penalty for casual games like league of legends.

    That was never my point.

The person I responded to said that those games HAD a leaver penalty, which was blatantly false. They used it as a supporting argument.

I'd like to see bots replace Survivors who either kill themselves on hook or DC.

"Hey everyone, I wanted to share an experience I had in a recent game and get your thoughts on who was at fault here."

"I personally think it's the killer's fault for holding the game hostage"

Holding the game hostage is when the killer physically blocks a player and does not attack them. It is also when survivors refuse to save players , heal or touch generators. These are deliberate choices where neither side is actively trying to progress the game.

This might shock you to learn but survivors who do not complete their objectives for an extended period of time are actually holding the game hostage.

If the killer is actively chasing people and knocking them down without hooking then they are 100% NOT holding the game hostage. You might feel that way but knocking someone to the floor will eventually end that player after four minutes.

I'm pretty sure that they've spoken about how a Killer not attempting to pursue their objective and holding an infinite three-gen is holding the game hostage.

Could be wrong though. Also, am I still a Survivor main or do I get to join the killer club again?

Not to the point a 10k hours streamer winning 95% of its game during his stream ends up to constantly facing bad survivors while on my side i face really strong survivors 8 times out of 10.

And it is not about having harder game, we think that the huge streamers that are the showcase for this game benefits from special settings in their matchmaking to not constantly get stomped by unwinnable survivors.

Look at the video, it is obvious that those survivors are babies. You can also check their names on steam, most of them have 300 hours.

    That's because the matchmaker sucks.

What's more likely? The matchmaker that we know isn't accurate and prioritizes speed above all else is messing up and puts average players against 10K hour streamers. OR. BHVR's matchmaker is so good that it can actually be told who to whitelist and give easy matches, thereby creating a conspiracy specifically meant to target people and make them feel worse about their own games which BHVR has gone out of their way to make harder....for some reason.

Yeah, you guys sound like the people who think there are lizard people.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1804174159

Tell me that those survivors are not babies. You can look the whole video, the low level is consistent.

But you can also check the Wesker trial at 02:35:30 and tell me these are high MMR crazy loopers...

Now i invite you to check some other big streamers past stream and see that they face exactly the same kind of survivors.

One of the streamer you have mentionned just said, on Tuesday, that he was facing survivors with 500 hours while he has 10k hours on the game :)

    Uh huh.

I'm specifically responding to a thread about how one guy thinks there's a conspiracy against certain people to give them harder matches.

There's not, some people aren't really good players and the matchmaker sucks.

  • It's pretty okay for me.

I'd like it if Killer was a little more difficult.

I'd like it if Survivor was a little less difficult.

    But overall, it's not horrible.

    I agree with this.

I've said for ages that to keep this as fair as possible, all the Devs have to do is enable mouse and keyboard to be used on console. Consoles allow for it, it just has to be activated on the Devs side of things

    Not good enough.

Literally almost every game that releases nowadays has controller settings. DBD has non-equivalent sensitivity and that's it.

"Crazy team" is a relative thing. Those teams look crazy against Tru3 but not against Otz, Scott, etc. It's not a conspiracy. Some players are better than others.

That's one of the difficult things to learn about DBD.

If you stick a team of good Survivors against a bad or even mediocre Killer, they'll look untouchable and unbeatable.

Put them up against someone like Hens or Otz, suddenly they look like babies.
