interesting.. i play nurse in my rotation and have played with the latest patch. seems like a new bug.
-
Im NA West as well and its pretty much the same as you.
solo Surv afternoon: instant
solo surv evenings: 5 min.
killer afternoon: mostly instant
killer evenings: instant
I don't usually play in the mornings.
-
Seems like a shadow nerf.
I wouldn't say it's irrelevant; i'm more inclined to search lockers for a suspected hiding survivor when it was faster.

No.
If you flip a coin 3 times, each flip has a 50% chance to land on heads, you don't add it together for a 150% chance, because the previous attempt doesn't affect the new. Same here. It's 4% chance on each attempt. Therefore, even if you got 5 chances, you'd still be at a 4% chance of any of those chances panning out.
You're right you don't just add it together; that's not what I did though if you followed through on my equation.
If I hand you a coin and say 'you can flip this 100 times and if you land heads at least once, you win', do you think the chance to hit heads is still 50%?? Of course not.
You are confusing how dependent and independent event works.
If I say 'I flipped this coin 99 times and it all came up heads. If I flip it again, what is the chance it will land heads?', this is an independent event and the chance is still 50%.
-
having 3 attempts at a 4% chance to unhook yourself is 11.5%.
(.96) x (.96) x (.96) = 0.8847
1 - 0.8847 = 11.5%

With higher efficiancy, you should stalk faster, to reaching EW3 sooner, with the survivors being "drained" faster as well.
If you only stalked these two survivors and the other two not at all, you wouldn't get more than 2 to 3 activations of EW3. You need one survivors full stalk to get from EW1 to EW3 after all.
Another thing that might have happened, did you use addons which increase the amount you have to stalk to reach EW3? Namely the duration increasing addons or tombstone addons? That woul also cause you to take longer to tier up and give you less EW3 phases.
ok, so the amount if evil drained from the survivors is equivalent to my stalk efficiency.
I used the greens mirror shard and jewelry box so no to the 2nd question.

@OnryosTapeRentals said:
You can only stalk an individual survivor for a limited amount of time. Once their outline turns red you won't be able to stalk them any more for the rest of the game.
ooooff... that hurts to know.. thanks

It says that the game overly rewards gameplay styles that the vast majority of the community dislike or find boring.
Camping and tunneling is certainly not fun to go against and I'd say at least a decent amount of killers dislike overly using those tools either, so how do you counter these strategies? Well you just hold m1 on a generator as spread out as possible and don't even bother with altruism or interacting with the killer and if the killer does chase you just throw down every pallet you run to which isn't fun for killers to go against either cause it just turns into pallet kicking simulator.
DbD needs to more heavily incentivise interacting with your opponents instead of the easiest and most effective strategies for both side being to limit those interactions.
I do definitely agree with you about killers not enjoying tunneling or camping someone.
Tunneling and camping in a match sometimes you have to do, not because you had a bad day and want to take it out on survivors, but sometimes 2 gens pop before you even get your 1st hook; you sort of panic and decide you have no choice but to play 'scummy'.
once in a while playing like this when you feel a match is getting out of your hand is fine, but if you feel like you need to do this for a vast majority of the matches, its just not worth it.
-
reverted. a survivor perk shouldn't trump a killer perk; there are 4 survivors = 16 perks, and only 1 killer = 4 perks. doesn't make sense.

this is what happens with circlejerks. people lose touch with reality.
there is no shortage of killers, play solo queue and you'll see
I do play solo queue survivor but only during the day; no way i'm sitting in queue during the evenings.
Whereas for killers I could play it anytime of the day/night.
-
this is what happens when there is a drought of killers. Essentially, MMR is turned off if there just isn't any killers to go around.
I wonder why ppl don't want to play killers but are fine with playing survivors? 😒
-
some good advice here.
as far as perks go, i used to run:
franklins, monitor, sloppy, a nurse's calling. but with the introduction of the circle of healing boon i didn't find it effective so i switched out to:
franklins, sloppy, save the best for last, make your choice.
-
Whether I'm playing killer or survivor, I treat Event Cakes and BPS as survivor pudding and/or personal cakes. I could care less that it offers bonuses to everyone else.
I'll still play how I normally would play whether I used an event cake and/or BPS. Same goes for if someone else offers these as well.
-
i don't like it for the same reason.
also trying to click on their name to check their steam profile is sometimes buggy.
when you hover your mouse over their name it doesn't allow you to click it, you have to be literally pixel perfect somewhere around their body.
-
i think it was otz or a diff. streamer that used Prophylactic Amulet with Blessed Apple (start with 2 pools corrupted) and had moderately good success. I don't think he played any differently: try to get as many survivors infected from the start, then drink from corrupted pool.
I've also tried these 2 addons together and had decent success but I'm only at mid tier MMR at best.
-
he's holding you hostage plain and simple which is definitely reportable. of course you need video proof rather than just a screen shot. if you do send it to support(dot)deadbydaylight(dot)com

@Laluzi said:
You don't need a map. Just have a general knowledge of where totems spawn and keep an eye out for dull totems during the match. In the endgame, do a circuit of the dulls you've found, and any ex-boons. If it glows, it goes.
I've been seeing way more NOED since SBMM was implemented and I successfully defuse them about 75% of the time. When I don't, it's often because my teammates cleansed the dulls I'd located and NOED spawned on that one totem I was clueless about. Or I was the first one to be hit.
This. Doing 5 bones especially in solo Q is pretty unfeasible unless you do it yourself. When you see the NOED indicator when someone goes down, find the glowy

When playing killer, keep your chat window closed. When survivor, you can keep it open.
-
The devs won't change it because survivor mains are their main money makers buying their cosmetics, rift pass and so on. They will NOT remove something that surv. find fun to do (being toxic at gates). Unfortunately you just have to accept it; I have.
The same reason why these same ppl will not be toxic IRL, like give you the bird randomly, or talk derogatory about your mother. I mean, getting mad at pixels on your screen is the same as getting mad at something giving you a gesture IRL, or saying something about your mom (it's just sound waves hitting your eardrum, whats the big deal) amirite?
Toxic behavior IRL comes with consequences; not so with being in a game. If Im an M1 killer I just break pallets and door; if I have a ranged attack more than likely they just leave. I also by default have my chat window closed whenever I play killer. If I beat them, Ill open it because I love hearing their salt. If i lost, i keep it closed. In my experience a gloating winner is more prevalent than a sore loser.
I also hit ppl on hooks once in awhile for kicks; its nothing personal but I kind of find it relieves some stress, xD

Can you explain this twitch clip?
https://clips.twitch.tv/HealthyBlueMangetoutCoolStoryBob-9Eax6E8DpRrAjwI8That survivor moved a bit to the left to avoid the crows so he didn't get downed, but he was still close enough for killer instinct to trigger? If the crows hits, it hits and but killer instinct triggers when its a near miss?
-
so he's saying some killers are viable at high MMR while most killers are not. he sits on the fence, and is only talking about after vast majority of streamers have an issue with MMR
-
If your killer is low MMR it is very easy to 4k. Once you hit mid MMR you get a more even match up. High MMR and its pretty bad for killers
-
thanks for the suggestions.
i just 4kd using:
franklins, haunted, undying, devour.
-
usually no. ill just hook them and move on to the next match.
-
moving your mouse is consider toxic, check. 😅

I put that information on the updated FAQ with regards to the offerings.
what patch note was this from because I know i did NOT read anything like this, and i read patch notes.

Prior to the latest update, there were no percentages in-game itself. The wiki displayed what it had datamined/calculated but in game it would have just said "considerably" as an example. I would be happy to test it with you.
ill shoot you a private message and give you my steam name so we could quickly test this out.
-
i also recommend KaiZ; he plays all killers and he is IMO the best killer i've seen so far
-
infectious, corrupt, discord, pop: are what i run
-
I know this was 4 years ago, but this was pretty painful to watch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R98e-Y4Lu8w -
Devs have made pallets brightly colored so its easier to see, but for hooks, they opted for them to blend into the background. makes sense.

In the QandA stream they said they are going to look at Legion and The Ghost Face soon. Not a rework necessarily, just looking to see how they could be improved.
Far from what the OP titled his post "confirmed to be next killer reworks" .. facepalm

I'm not too sure exactly, i think it's basically like you hear the demogorgon's sounds and his footstep sounds
Thanks!!! I appreciate the info. If you know the answer to my 2nd question as well, I'm all ears.

You do make sounds when emerging from a portal. The add-on "red moss" makes this silent which is one of it's effects.
Ahh.. i see.. thanks!!
Assuming I am not using the 'red moss' addon, is the noise they hear directional when I emerge from a portal ? And what is the range at which they will be able to hear me emerging from a portal?
-
these are good plague buffs because by default after you do a vile or corrupt purge, for 1.5 sec you are pretty much at a standstill.
had to use cooldown to vile purge to mitigate this issue.
-
have you guys seen otzdarva's latest streams? He would get the occasional tea bagger after dropping a pallet. which is pretty mild as far as BM is concerned. After the match, the survivor immediately apologizes for being toxic in-game but only because they versed against the biggest DBD streamer.
Darva would get quite annoyed because if it was just a random no-name killer, they wouldn't have given them the same courtesy and he would call them out on it. So it's not like they DON'T have self awareness, they are fully aware they are trying to get under the skin of the killer during the game, and then at the exit gates to rub it in.
They know they are toxic, but they just don't care; they only care if they went against otzdarva after the fact, with 10K people watching his stream.
-
just don't do haddenfield offerings. problem solved
-
his add ons are so crap, always comes with some sort of penalty
-
I play both sided equally.
Survivor:
Get rid of brand new part, styptic agent
25% progression in 5 sec is just way too fast. Styptic gives you an extra health state when you are being chased and are close to being hit.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Killer:
I don't play all killers yet, but only cycle through 11 out of 25
Get rid of bubba's Iridescent Flesh, and Wraith's purple All seeing blood
Iri Flesh because the potential to snowball into something stupid. Wraith's all seeing blood because there is no mind game needed when at jungle gyms/ walls.
-
never tried this but worth a shot

Stuns ending Legions power is actually a good thing cause it's much faster then the normal cooldown.
Plague losing hers is bs with how much work she has to do to get it and how it's not completly in her control
ok this makes sense about legion. plague shouldn't lose her power when stunned though i agree.

otzdarva spoke about how the heavy clutch works in detail. I timestamped the video 1:16:34. In his testing, it does not affect the hitbox of the survivors.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShD_xVH8DR0&t=4593s -
the 1st blink is just a guesstimate of where you are , and the 2nd blink is the correction to get the hit. if the nurse is able to hit you on its 1st blink, then she's either really good, or you need to try and break line of sight, or both
-
@Altarf said:

Yeah, but heavy clutch also reduces the damaging hitbox. It's hard enough to hit curves as it is.
oh... that does make sense
-
same i was in a game, a survivor DC, and the killer at the same time. at to close game in task manager. verifying files now.
-
i don't get mad when a killer uses NOED, but coming from a 50/50 surv/killer, i think it should be revised somehow
-
heavy clutch addon,, ..but yea.. bubba suffers the same issues with those small branches as well

i used to run it regularly but sadly people would ignore it and let me die on hook anyway so i do not see the point anymore...
Yea this happened a lot when I ran it when I 1st started playing the game. Found it useless because of this reason so took it off. Now that I have more experience I gave it another shot.
The 1st part still happens; a survivor 10 meters away that would rather work on a gen than saving me or another teammate when the killer is obviously chasing another person.
But the other more important part is whenever a teammate gets hooked, the info it gives you. Whether you are in a better position to go for a save or a teammate closer is, if a teammate is getting chased away, etc..
