370 hours in DBD split between playing survivor and killer, and I think I played against a plague literally once when I was in brown ranks.

I'll always find it funny how they got rid of clowns exhaustion bottles but kept Huntress's addon
5 sec. of exhaustion makes the add on worthless.

probably best to take a break from the game if it tilts you so much that you feel that way.
-
I suppose you guys are right than. It just feels so ######### when you get royally screwed over because a gate was 99. If only it was open I would have lived. etc..
-
Ok I could see how the dev's made it deliberate. Thanks for the explanation.
-
It means hurry the [BAD WORD] UP stop crouch walking and unhook me. Can't you clearly not see that he is chasing the obsession since the 2 spider legs are moving??
-
If your internet is being flaky, i don't think you should play and make the other 3 survivors suffer. get it sorted out with the ISP
-
The times I see a killer quit mid/late match is when we absolutely wreck him in gens and avoiding being taken down (i play solo queue). It seems more out of frustration. it could be a new killer he is testing out.
The times I see survivors disconnecting mid/late game is when they also get wrecked when I play killer.
I also think it's a case of being spiteful and denying me sacrifice points and/or a proper 4k. ie) DCing when I pick them up when they are on their 2nd hook state
I'm glad DC penalties are back.
-
I think it's fair. AFAIK the person with the lower ping has priority, as it should be, rather than the person with the higher ping.
-
it's called Schadenfreude:
experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, or humiliation of another.
Self-esteem has a negative relationship with the frequency and intensity of schadenfreude experienced by an individual; individuals with less self-esteem tend to experience schadenfreude more frequently and intensely
So basically ppl with low esteem tea bag at exit gate, and conversely ppl with normal/high self esteem don't.

Killers that are 'boring':
trapper: traps around windows and pallets makes chases unfun
wraith: coming out of stealth and getting a huge lunge is unfun. only hope is a window pallet, hope he doesn't have bamboozle
nurse: she can teleport; can't do a 'proper' chase
hag: teleport traps. enough said
doctor: shock therapy prevents me from dropping a pallet or vault for 2.5 sec. also i scream occasionally which prevents the same
huntress: ranged killer BS
leatherface: shreds pallets; only hope is window and hope he doesn't have bamboozle
nightmare: being in dreamstate means he will easily win mind game loops; unfun
pig: she's ok, but the bear traps sucks because taking them off is RNG
clown: similar to doctor except he slows you down to get a hit; unfun
spirit: no counterplay
legion: not fun playing mending simulator
plague: ranged corrupt plague able to hit multiple survivors; OP and BS
demogorgon: barely getting hit from his lunge attack when I vault a window... yea .. BS and unfun
Oni: he's ok without his powers, but he's too strong and unfun when he can one shot easily in loops
deathslinger: ranged BS
pyramid head: special attack going through walls, pallets, windows.. unfun
blight: very fast and very strong in loops; also plays the same 4 perks. boring
twins: ill just make coffee while im slugged on the floor from victor
trickster: ranged BS
________________________________________________________________________________________________
Klllers that are either tolerable or fun
billy: fun; i can abuse him in loops while tries like a fool to curve kill me
shape: he's ok as long as he's not running his iridescent which gives him unlimited tier 3
ghost face: only fun if I have spine chill perk so I know i'm being watched and can reveal him. then he's just a basic btch boy M1 killer with no powers.
Nemesis: he's ok. the zombies are annoying AF when I'm working on a gen. also iron will should supress the coughing from being infected.

The main thing you need to practise is your aim. Knowing the timing is only good IF your aim is perfect.
- Learn exactly how to aim at their face. Just practice when a killer is kicking a pallet
- From one side of shack to the other is a pretty good distance for attempts. Too close and it's too difficult. Too far and you won't get the beam.
- The killer picks the survivor off the ground, then hooks his arm under them to finish the pick up. You start blinding after he hooks his arm under the survivor and starts lifting them up again.
- Angles can be quite stupid. So go for any attempt that is 60° either side of their face. You'll soon learn which killers are easier to get side flashlight saves on.
- If the beam doesn't close in then your not aiming correctly.
If you want to see a bunch of flashlight saves to help know how it looks then here is a link to a bunch of flashlight saves and misses. I'd suggest muting the video because I'm drunk in some of them. Just stop at "other highlights" lol this will hopefully show you how bullshit some angles are and how precise you need to be sometimes.
Nice video!!!!! Shows the exact timing of when to use your flashlight.
To add on to point 3, when the killer has the survivor hooked under his arm, he will quickly hoist him over his shoulder. It seems this is when you want to start your flashlight when he's doing the quick transition from under the arm, to over his shoulder.
Nemesis is a weird one since he doesn't hoist you over the shoulder, but the timing is still the same.

The saddest thing is there is no way to force them out now, since there is an invicibility spot on the edge of the way out... so they can just stand there the entire end game collapse and you can't do anything but wait.
yea when someone did this to me, obviously the survivor mains were like.. well this gives you a chance to let them back in the match to potentially unhook the survivor so that you could try for more than a 1K. 🙄
i unintentionally did this to another killer when i wanted him to hit me so i had to move a little away from the gate

I guess their post is not about the slugging in general, more about the 4 min. since most killers tell survivors that it's not a big deal to wait 4 min. til they bleed out, while they can not wait 2 min. until egc ends. I don't know, might be wrong though
Slugging is a fair and viable tactic unlike camping & tunneling.
ie) Oni has his power and instead of downing a survivor and hooking, its probably better to see if anyone else is nearby and take them out with 1 hit.
hanging around at the gates waiting for the killer to come by so they could flashbang / flashlighting his face, tea bagging, etc.. is just being a douche
now if you're the only survivor and he is just leaving you on the ground to bleed out, then yea, that's toxic too.
-
I just had an occasion when I was picking up a survivor under a pallet, and a teammate dropped the pallet on me,... but nothing happened. no stun, no saved teammate...i mean i was right dab in the middle of pallet

Then learn and get better at the game just like them watch youtube videos on how to play without having to use those cheap tactics because at that point no one is having any fun but with the fact of me playing with friends and using comms doesn't mean that we are talking tactics we don't even really say who the killer because we know what the sounds are that they make and can make out who it is without any issues so if you're playing the game like garbage then again either learn or don't play killer
Proof how toxic survivor mains are over killer mains, especially those that rely on playing in a SWF as a crutch.
-
Feng mains hate her new look as well. We call you gorilla feng, or feng man.
we share your pain
-
Probably because you are playing in a SWF and the killer can sense it.
If im playing killer and I sense a SWF using comms and I'm getting rolled, I'm gonna tryhard by using 'dirty' tactics.
Post chat will be toxic as well.
I'm not Otzdarva or Umbra or any other top killers that can still get 3-4k from a coordinated SWF squad.

I let 'em.
Wasting 4 people's time for the price of 1 while I break walls and pallets is a good deal to me.
Once I break one breakable wall or pallet they all immediately leave. Why you leave? i was farming points.
Goes to show you the mindset of survivor mains.
-
If someone is lag switching on me when I try to pick them up, and hook them, im gonna camp them and tunnel them leave them on the floor.
Lag switching is a reportable offense.

No, if you pop the styptic, the syringe would not heal because your health state changes from injured to deep wounds/mending.
I know that's what the syringe states, but 2 people have stated otherwise, unless they are mistaken in their recollection.
-
Styptic lasts for 8 sec, the Syringe will heal after 16sec, Self-Mending takes 12 sec, and Altruistic Mending takes 8 sec.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Based on the responses, it seems like:
1) If you get hit within 8 sec., the Styptic works and the Syringe will heal the mend after a total of 16 sec. elapses.
(theoretically it seems like you can either self mend or have a teammate mend you if you get hit right after you use the medkit, and then Syringe will heal you back up but I don't think this happens in actual gameplay.
2) If you get hit between 9-15 sec, you are downed. (outside the window of both Styptic and Syringe)
2) If you don't get hit at all, the Syringe will take effect and you are back to Healthy state.
yes?? can't really test with KYF since I have no friends, lulz.

Survivors mains be like I find every killer boring, they shouldn’t have no unique power and should be easily counter by predropping pallets and running away.
I kind of think the same way. I think they want a standard basic 115% speed 32m terror radius M1 killer without any powers.
The reason why overwhelming survivor mains find BIlly to be 'fun' against is because very good Billys are hard to come across, and even then, he still can be abused by loops.

Gotta be Hag. No one touches her. I get more Hillbilly and Plague than I do her.
I don't think I've ran into a Hag in the last month. Not exaggerating one bit. Which is crazy, since she is incredibly strong if played correctly.
For me Hag is the 2nd least played killer I versus against. She is top tier as well. I could kind of see her being boring to play as though, so maybe not a lot of people like playing her even if she is strong.

The vast majority of my cakes are on my killers. If I sense a 3 or 4 man SWF, I don't use my cake; if I sense it's mostly solo queues, I use it.
In my experience, solo queues survivors are more likely to use cakes while people in SWFs are more likely to use oak offerings and murky reagents. Also I get more easily bullied by a SWF squad than otherwise so why use cakes on SWF's if im not likely to get much points.
-
what i got out of this thread.
"vast majority of killers are not fun, the only killers that are fun are the ones that I can abuse in a tile loop" 😄
-
It's not limited to just using Iron Will.
I don't use Iron Will and I get sound bugs when I work on a gen or if I am hooked, and then turn the camera around.
The sound gets muffled, i turn the camera a little bit, then the sound returns.
I already posted this in the bug forum.
-
yea they gave kate a bucktooth lulz, and made her look older in a bad way
-
they made feng look like a dude, not cool my cute feng.
-
On paper, Kindred for solo players would seem top tier. But in practice it's worthless. Even with Kindred, either your teammates will all have a mad rush to unhook you to get that sexy Safe Unhook points, or no one will bother saving you because they are too busy doing gens, or healing themselves or others.
Or a basement camping bubba hooked a teammate with kindred, and you will have the other teammates crouching around doing absolutely nothing until the last moment to unhook but of course they are all dead lulz.
-
Wow, interesting. Good to know, thanks

Ahh... I see.
When you say
"So anything within a 64 meter range that the map you are using can track will be tracked."
Does that mean that if you are running Detective hunch with a map, the map can read out to a 64 meter radius??
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Also, does Rainbow Maps track everything? The Wiki states it starts the match with 3 random objects tracked, which leads to my confusion.
-
IMO, face camping and tunneling is acceptable if the killer is getting absolutely wrecked in a 4-man SWF. Other that that, it's just a ######### way to play, ruining the match for 4 other people with no regards except to get their rocks off.
Coming from someone that plays 50/50 Surv and Killer.
-
The event has been extended till for another week; use the cakes to get more BP to get more cakes.
On survivor I pretty much always use it and I only 'main' 1 survivor. It seems like per bloodweb there is at least 1 cake now.
For killers I run it unless I think Im going against a 3-4 man SWF. In my experience, they don't bring cakes at all and instead do map offerings, extend the hook ranges, or anything else that gives them an advantage.
Often times its the solo queues that brings the cake so when I think this is the case I bring a cake as well.

I think his silent bell might need tweaked. I swear every Wraith I've run into as of late runs it. Luckily I'm never without Spine Chill, but I can't say the same for my teammates.
I think his silent bell add on is mostly fine. Maybe only make it silent to survivors when within 8 meters and to everyone else they can hear it.
The problem is his all seeing add on (When cloaked, Survivors' auras within 12 metres are revealed to you). This feels cheap especially if you pair it w/the silent clapper.
They buffed it from 8 meters, to 10 meter, then 12 meters in the past. Maybe make it so you only see aura within 8 meters??

This is a 1 vs 4. One Killer has 4 perks to choose from, so he has to choose carefully. 4 Survivors combined are 16 perks total. Playing survivor, whether solo queue or SWF gives you more freedom in choosing a variety of different perk builds to choose from.
Therefore It makes more sense for a killer to choose META perks while Survivors can switch around with different perks.
What different 4 combination perks would you recommend for Blight Killers than? Have you used these perks yourself and if so, how have you fared? Or are you a Survivor player which gives you a narrow perspective?
-
@ClumsyTrapper said:
Asap anytime the killer gets hit by D's it swings the match's momentum in the survivors favor. Plus you'll really kick yourself if you save it then it runs out after second hook

This map is so confusing I finally figured to look at some map pictures and a youtube video. This pic and video help a lot.

""he kept hitting the pallet which of course we know that's s code for, I want to farm,""
Interesting. I never knew. Anyways you got jebaited. He wanted everyone on 2nd hook and injured?? And you agreed to it?? 😅
-
It's most likely the flashbangs. Seeing a streamer that mostly mains survivors and only plays 1 killer (demogorgon) waiting at the exit gates to flash the killer while exiting. Such a DB thing to do honestly

@Trickstaaaaa said:
What do you guys prefer when playing survivor? Do you guys just care about escaping as quick as possible and getting 15k points. Or getting a longer game with more action, like getting into chases and things like that and resulting in more points despite maybe not being able to escape, but still getting more points.
And as a when playing killers what do you guys prefer? Just getting the 4 downs as quick as possible, and only getting maybe 17k for a match. Or trying to get more hooks and chase everyone. Despite the end result being only getting 1 or 2 downs in the whole game and 2 survivors escaping, but resulting in more points.
When playing survivor I'd rather have a long game with interactions spread out, so getting more points rather than getting less points/surviving.
When playing killers, I'd rather have 8 hooks and no kills, rather then 6 hooks and 2 kills. I'd rather have all 4 survivors, and myself getting a lot of points and having a good time, rather then necessarily going for quick kills.
But If i'm sensing a 4man SWF and I am getting my butt kicked, im going for a kill to hopefully slow down their progress. I don't really enjoy going against SWF with comms, but I won't bounce if that is what i'm guessing in the pre-matchup screen.

But the killer can literally call him back at anytime they choose , what you're saying would be effective if she couldn't call him back but she can, you might as well be slugged with victor right there doing nothing while Charlotte is killing your team , all it takes is one other survivor to go down for there to be one gen being worked on, one holding victor , one on hook and one going for the rescue along with being able to track anyone the victor kidnapper runs near I mean at least if you were slugged you could be picked up and get back to gens. In this scenario if Charlotte wanted she could camp the hook and there's no way the gens would be done with just 2 survivors trying to rush gens and you would be down a teammate with multiple gens still up, or she could just call victor back at anytime and continue to play like normal because this isn't even a counter to the twins it's solely depending on what the killer feels like doing they hold the power to leave you being afk essentially or just call him back and slug your team while you haven't been touching a gen the whole time and not even being chased for that matter how in the world could anyone think this strategy is legit?
I haven't played Twins yet, and I have played against her only a handful of times. But the wiki clearly states.
- Recall timer: 30 seconds
- This refers to how long Victor has to be attached to a Survivor before Charlotte can recall him at will.
Charlotte can't recall Victor whenever she wants if a survivor is holding onto Victor. Only after 30 sec. she can.
Also Charlotte can't camp the hook:
- It is impossible to voluntarily switch between the Killers or for Charlotte to release Victor when either of them is standing within a specific radius of the following Props:
- within 16 metres of a Hook
AFAIK based on this thread, the only viable tactic to hold onto Victor latched onto you is when your other teammates are all injured, and gives them time to hopefully heal.
- Recall timer: 30 seconds
-
I agree, but it should only show up when you are close to them. Similar to how it works for 'We'll Make it" perk. When someone with this perk unhooks you, you see a notification next to your 4 perks on the bottom right. Very useful so you either stay in place and get healed real fast, or run together, etc..
Any Means Necessary should also activate for any teammate that goes near the person that has it and is downed. Instead it becomes a waste when teammates go for the save when they don't have to
-
So I just tested Bullet point 3. Small Game triggers based on where your camera is facing, not where your character's BODY is facing.
Whenever you move your camera, it moves your characters head relative to where your camera is facing. So yes, your character has to be looking at the totem for it to trigger.
Your body may be squared up right at the totem, but if you having your camera looking away, then it won't trigger.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
For Bullet point 2, when you are hooked you can still move your camera position, but this doesn't change where you look since you are on the hook. So if there is a totem right in front of where you are hooked, it will keep on triggering.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
So I guess the discrepancy and the confusion is from Bullet point 1. While you are interacting with a prop, such as doing a generator, healing a teammate, etc... you move your camera and it triggers Small Game, but your head is still fixated on doing the prob. Your character's head is not turned and looking at the totem.
=================================================================================================
Uggg.. the confusion. Well at least I figured it out.
-
I only started playing DBD last month, and Hillbilly is my favorite killer. Of course I wasn't around when 'old' billy was in play.
I'm not sure if I agree with getting rid of the overheat mechanic for billy.
I do like the idea of improving his add-ons. Some of his good add-ons come with a penalty that I need should be reworked.
Spiked Boots and Tuned Carburettor shouldn't come with a penalty. It should straight up boost your steering and reduce charge time respectively.
Black Grease needs a rework/buff.
The Engravings shouldn't come with a charge penalty.
Just my thoughts.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
At the very least with old small game, you could use the screen edges to essentially mark where the Totem was, such as when on a Gen, not reliant on the angle of the Characters head.
The new Small Game does reduce the camera angle, but it should still be reliant on camera angle, not Character head angle.
I'd have to hop on and check.
Yeah I used this guys method on how to pinpoint find a totem. It's still have for me and I need practice.
-
If DBD's console performance has gotten worse year after year, you have to come to the conclusion that there won't be a magic fix, no matter how many promises and assurances the devs give you.
Doesn't Sony and MS have some sort of quality assurance for games on their platform? best case scenario is a class action suit on DBD for selling a broken game, and getting some sort of partial refund.
