I play in NA with crossplay enabled and even before the Nemesis release, I could get a match as a survivor near instant morning through evenings, and still fast enough at dead hours.
For killers, I only really could get a match during the evenings that are near instant. In mornings and daytime, if after a couple minutes of waiting in queue matchless, I give up and play survivor.

Neither side is advancing the game state. That was my point. I'm not saying the survivors were in the right, they clearly weren't. All I'm saying is I disagree with the OP thinking he shouldn't actually need to look for survivors.
I never said that.
There's a difference between searching within the vicinity around the generators to see if they are hiding, and searching for survivors in some obscure location no where near the generators minutes on end.

Ahhh...damn.. what a shame

well yea.. I don't get that screen though. is that how it looks on console or MS store? I'm playing on Steam version.

While you didn't do something wrong here let me make a minor correction.
Survivors are obligated to attempt to do the generators, but if the killer 3 gens excessively it can be considered holding the game hostage if the killer is clearly not attempting to actually kill the survivors but just delay them as long as possible.
For example I had a game VS a doctor with lullaby and overcharge and unnerving, who just held a 3 gen all game and his lullaby totem was in the middle of the 3 gen where we couldn't get it.
The doctor never took a chase and if you ran away from the very tight 3 gen he would drop you to continue protecting the 3 gens and the totem at the same time. My survivor team tried to Knock away at the gens but any time you tried to work gens he would push you off/injure and drop when you ran away and kick the gen overcharge. This match when on for 30 minutes because that's how long it took for us to slowly work through 1 of the 3 generators with lullaby and overcharge and him refusing to leave. (Unnerving overcharge skill checks can be easy to miss and lullaby increases their regression by 6% even with no stacks, so if you dare to miss a skill check you get your gen regressed by 11% or about 9 seconds of repair in addition to like 2.5 seconds where the gen stops repairing all together after a skill check is failed). After 30 minutes of that we finally finished the last gen and he DCd when it happened.
In the end game chat he called us racial slurs.
The entire thing got recorded and sent in a customer support ticket and I think you can guess what happened next.
I'll be honest I think that's similar to how I played it. My game: 3 survivors left; 3 gens. If I found a survivor I would make an attempt to insta-down him with my chainsaw. I'm not good yet looping as a survivor or playing a killer and juking them into a misplay, so I'd just ignore them and see how the other 2 gens are doing.
Ill probably have to rethink how I play it going forward when something like this happens again. If it prolongs, I think Ill just chase the survivor and if they get the gen down, they get it down.

Start up OBS and record the whole thing. Post it on a dummy youtube account and put in a support ticket

on the left pane, click on "What should and should not be reported?". then click on THIS PAGE.
An In-game report MUST be made.

Temporary bans
GRIEFING: INTENTIONAL GAMEPLAY ABUSE
- Holding the game hostage
If its a steam user and you click on show profile at the end of match scoreboard, OBS cannot pick up the steam overlay. So use a program called Greenshot to take a printscreen of the game with the steam overlay; regular prntsrn will not show.
Start Greenshot, press Ctrl-Prtsrn, save as (displaying dialog)
Probably too much effort for most people, but here's how to do it.

I have a build dedicated to torturing survivors on Midwich as Doctor
It's Distressing, Discordance, Ruin, and Surveillance (but I swap those last two out all the time) with double calm addons and of course, a Midwich offering.
yea we got screwed over hard with the doctor on this map. getting shocked all the time.

Ok.. I wonder why Windows version is grouped up with console with the globe symbol. I would imagine PC players would be Steam and Windows, and Console would be Playstation and Xbox

i see .. Thanks again. Much appreciated!!!

are you guys still doing this?? im on steam. search for 'M E G A D E T H' in USA.

Ahh.. OK. thanks guys!!

I actually just found this youtube tip.
Get it to tier 3. Once it activates, look away while waiting 10 sec, then slowly turn your view towards where the totem is and when Small Game activates, its where its at.
Pretty smart. No this is not me or my channel. Ok so I guess my original question was answered, I was just doing it wrong just randomly trying to find the totem whenever Small Game lit up.

It's just social behavior , the Devs on a stream around 6 Months back said there is a almost 1:4 ratio of Killer to survivor players , it's just region and time of day difference that causes queue times
I for example will play Killer during the day as my friends are at work
But at night I will play survivor as they are back from work
ahh.. that makes sense with people wanting to play with their friends as survivors, and they come back home from work. so with more survivors in the evenings, it'll be easier to get a match playing as a killer.
And in the morning or daytimes, since there are less SWF teams, that would have an influx of more killers

Neither one of us was downed at the same time. I suspect he was only doing that so that one of us would give away the other’s position, which is a ######### play trying to get us to break the rules to “work with the killer”.
Ok i understand whats going on. When he downed 1 of the survivor, instead of just hooking him, he left him on the floor as bait for his other teammate to rescue him. The killer would occasionally pick up the dying survivor so that their bleed time stops.
Then your teammate will arrive to rescue you, but since the killer is more or less camping your dying body, he either hits you again and you're back in the dying phase (does your bleed timer reset?), or your teammate saved you but it costed him to be the one dying.
But you guys kept repeating this. over, and over, and over, and over, and over, again, and again.
Either one of you guys should realize that getting both survivors escaping is a lost cause, and the healthy survivor should just finish the generator and leave.
The killer didn't hold the game hostage, or grief you; you and your teammate griefed each other.

The other survivor was actually the first one to be victimized in this fashion. I saw that all the killer was doing was picking him up and then knocking him down over and over again so I went and began working on a gen. But then the killer noticed me and let the other person get away and started doing it to me too. This went back and forth once or twice until I got bored and walked away to the kitchen.
ohh.. you're saying you and your teammate were downed, and the killer was just juggling between you and your teammate picking him up, then dropping him down, etc..??
does the killer get more bloodpoints when he does that?? with both you down he already has his 4K, i suppose he's just griefing just for kicks.
-
I was held hostage too but being a killer instead. Im still fairly new to the game with 56 hours on record. But when I was only just 5-10 hours into the game, i managed to kill 2 survivors and was looking for the other 2 survivors. i couldn't for the life of me find them. Also noticed they were not doing any generators and wasn't getting any notifications of missed skill checks, or fast vaults, etc..
after i figured they were trolling me, i just hid in a corner and did something else on my PC. 30-45 min. later, the match was over when I checked.
I mean a killer trying to get a 4 kill isn't griefing intentionally. What about the other survivor? he should be doing gens, or picking you up; he's prolonging this experience for you as well. i mean what exactly was he doing? you are in a dying state and im sure you recovered yourself up to 95%, it should be very fast for him to pick you up to injured.

Hopefully, it's fixed by making better qualities just as bright and not by darkening everything down. I don't understand what is the thought process behind making maps where you're looking at a black screen and thinking that's good design.
yea its not just that though, on higher settings there is more shrubbery, grass, foliage, etcc.
edit: to brighten it even more under nvidia control panel - adjust desktop color settings - and i put the gamma slider to around 1.35-1.4

Crouching will not trigger Hag’s Phantasm Traps.
Crouching (or standing still) will not trigger Victors Killer Instinct whether he is idle or attached to a teammate nearby.
Crouching over a Rite of Judgement will protect you from getting tormented and Killer Instinct.
As far I know there is no way to protect from Demorgorgans Portal Killer Instinct, and that may be because Demo won’t know about it unless it uses Of The Abyss (or that add on that doesn’t require Of The Abyss).
thanks!!! Good info here. played against a hag last night and got creamed. noticed the traps are definitely visible on the ground, unless its in grass.
i think when a teammate is hooked, its best to just crouch walk when im nearby, unhook him, then both crouch walk away.

consoles has always pushed for graphical fidelity over frames per second. for the console market, graphics sell and not FPS, but that may be changing with the new consoles.

thanks guys.. much appreciated for all the responses. i'm learning. 😀
