  • I'm not going to lie, Sadako players can be quite aggressive with their playstyle at times, and I'd like to believe that if Sadako receives passive condemnation, it will be used to tunnel and mori everyone out of the match. But that's the fun part. You get to play against someone who actually poses a threat rather than just being a budget wraith with teleportation powers.

  • Still not good enough. We still need to pay just for prestige and grinding out as a beginner just isn't worth the gameplay for the long run. You'll be earning less, and you'll be forced to play with bad perks for a long time before you can prestige anyone. It's hardly a fix at all.

  • It's the wrong call, they should have just added a basekit sprint burst, instead of giving survivor a 10 second body block perk. It just makes hook trades worthless for killers.

  • It's useless, especially without comms and how most survivors trade hooks everytime they see someone at their 2nd phase.

  • @D2night said:

So if I understood it correctly, reassurance can only be used once per survivor per hook stage (per each survivor) so if 1 person gets killed and hooked, i can use it one time on their 1st and then 2nd stage and that’s it. But if 3 people brought reassurance we can stack it up to 90 seconds max? So 3 survivors can use it on one survivor per hook stage?

not sure if I understood that correctly but seems weird how they would only limit you to be able to use it 1 time but up to 3 survivors can use it if 3 brought it. What about if they upped it to 2 times but still a 90 second cap? So 1 survivor can do it twice and another only needs to do it once to hit the cap.

obviously with this nerf a lot of survivors won’t bring this perk so there will most likely only be 1 person, maybe 2 bringing it in a trial. Just seems like it won’t be extremely useful with only 1 person so 2 times per person with a max of 90 seconds would be nice

When used by SWF, it's actually balanced. If only SoloQ could perform the same as SWF, then we could truly stop camping.

It's a good countermeasure for any killer trying to get a head start by killing someone at 5 gens.

  • 20% but having a survivor on hook doesn't count. get ready for a slugfest.

  • oh you mean the pallet sponge killer, not really, but i've rarely seen any sadako players left.

  • 1 toolbox per SWF and ######### ton of Medkits and Flashlights. You'll start to doubt if they're healing each other or they got infinite hax on.

  • Killer: 7

    Survivor: 4

I make a lot of mistake as a survivor but does well playing killer, must be because I mastered killer early and I'm just >1000 hours as survivor.

Not to mention I play around fun builds as a survivor and always goes sweaty when playing killer.

    Bad news:

The players currently playing DbD as survivors will never accept any greater complexity.

Look at old Undying: take out 2-5 totems? An impossible task (apparently), so Undying nerfed to a flat 2.

Look at Pinhead: One survivor has to go to the highlighted box once every 90 seconds. An impossible task (if the bevvy of complaints is to be believed).

I mean heck: people complain about Pig's bear traps, and she's in the bottom five of worst killers in the game.

They'll have to make a new game (or DbD 2) with the more complex gameplay from the start because there is a zero percent chance current survivors will tolerate anything that makes the "click M1 on gen, repeat, leave" snoozefest more difficult or dynamic.

Or they could introduce a simple ping system in place of comms, because why the ######### are we still mimes in 2022?

I was angry yesterday about this nerf.

But i am glad they nerfed it. Because this perk will not do anything against actual facecamping and this problem will stay in game. So in future they will have to fix it with base-game mechanics.

For now, whenever Bubba is camping i will just go to next game. Like usual.

Yeah, nevermind it was broken with unlimited use. Whoever made the perk must have had some very wild ideas. It was game-breaking in typical BHVR fashion.

  • Trapper is less stressful with the trap placement, even though you're practically wasting more of your time to even gain a small amount of strategical advantage that you wouldn't really find to work at the most crucial of times. even though it is far more RNG-based and map-dependent.

Hag, on the other hand, has an extremely obvious trap. Paired with the lack of mobility and huge maps, you'll end up struggling early game against SWF who knows how to bait or when to disarm your traps. Not to mention that Hag has the least synergy with chase perks.

Trapper is like an extremely rigged slot machine, whereas Hag is like playing poker but everyone on the table is conspiring against you. Yes, even the devs.

  • The killer meta has become stale from a survivor standpoint. It's not worth playing for fun anymore. It's either the same anti-loop or tryhard killers who would probably tunnel you to death, and you only see the weak or old killers in the lower ranks that are quite good but not strong enough for high MMR, and for the record, it's more fun to verse against a good Onryo and still lose than to play against another nurse and try my hardest to win.

TLDR; Nobody wants to play against another nurse or blight anymore; we want to buff cool killers like Billy, Onryo, and Ghostface.

  • SBMM still does the same thing as Rank but more volatile and stressful, if i still get paired up with -100 hour survivor every game, I much rather get Rank instead.

  • I used to be a Hag main when I was starting out as a full-time killer, and there's actually a valuable lesson in playing a hardcore killer without add-ons or strong perks, that even though you are quite skilled, you are just learning to make use of what the game is throwing at you, and not every sweaty 4k is worth the salt you give for such a lousy endgame screen. I've gone full circle from accepting 6 hooks and 4k with NOED and basement is amazing to 12 hooks and no kills is the nicest thing I've ever done for myself.

The stress wasn't worth it even though it took me 1,100+ hours to stop being a tryhard killer and I used to be addicted to playing DBD at least 5 hours a day.

Now I just play Trapper with Noed and Bloodwarden.

  • They did the Impossible, they actually made it harder.

  • BHVR logic, less SoloQ and more SWF = more money.

  • As expected from a Nurse player.

  • "Wait, We have Anti-Cheats?" - BHVR, probably.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/341563/self-care-and-iron-will-buff-when

Are you sure your not the weak link in the chain, it's easy to blame the other 3 people but all 4 of you have to work as a team if you don't the killer will when most times. it's not a 1v1 game its a 1v4 a single survivor shouldn't go up against a killer and expect to win.

I'm not gonna run from one end of Mother's dwelling to another just to find a SoloQ teammate who's about to go unhook, and to ask him to heal me instead of making him go for the save.

There are uses for Self-care and its not because I want to 1v1 a killer, I just want an easier way to heal myself without risking running around and getting my teammates killed that doesn't involve a totem or a medkit.

Self-care isn't a SoloQ crutch, Its a perk, even killers run perks. duhhhh.

  • @jesterkind said:

Self-Care was never the best self healing perk for solo queue, and Iron Will is just a stealth perk so it doesn't have anything to do with solo queue specifically at all.

Also, who's "we"? Iron Will is in a perfectly decent spot, it's very usable but requires picking your build more thoughtfully, I don't think it needs to be buffed at all. Self-Care isn't very useful right now, but it's in timeout after being one of the most-run survivor perks for six straight years, so I imagine they won't buff it for a while. They shouldn't buff it for a while, anyway.

Did you forget that it used to stack with Medkits and Botany knowledge, making healing anywhere easy and so much faster before COH dropped? High MMR players use it even if 100% healing from COH is also available, just because we don't like crutches.

Just because it isn't the best, doesn't mean no one finds it useful. There are a lot of people who rely on self-care in order to have fun in SoloQ.

Also Iron will isn't just a stealth perk, its a chase perk, it makes playing injured easier even if the SoloQ Team sucks.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Probably has to do with the insane amount of gaslighting killers are getting because of the recent buffs. "If you can't win now, you're just a baby killer." No, it is still completely acceptable to get 0 kills against good survivors. It feels like everyone is basing how 'strong' killer is based off of them going against weak solos, using a full meta build, camping/tunneling, or playing Nurse/Blight. But as soon as you remove one of those factors, killer is astonishingly weak. And, of course, the 30-second AFK no perks/no add-ons on all killers challenge, because that streak was totally legit. T_T But seriously, if you're someone who has played as killer for years and made it to top ranks/top MMR, you know exactly what I'm talking about. If you're not one of those people, you'll get there in time.

I play trapper for fun against SWFs and use the most nastiest and sweatiest build/playstyle I can find. I frequently get teabagged and given GGEZ just for running bloodwarden + Noed every game, but losing a few games doesn't make me a bad person. If you're not having fun, stop playing. You shouldn't aggravate innocent players just because you're having a temper tantrum

  • Some players like to play Nurse but have never really had the time or interest to master her. It's actually harder if you don't master Nurse first before playing other killers, because muscle memory and intuition tend to become rusty after playing other killers for a while, and you won't have the skill level you need to win in High MMR if you come back.

I play mostly Hag, Trapper and Plague and sometimes Legion.

Silent Bell Clapper can be countered by eyes and ears.

All-Seeing Blood is what, 8 Meters? You can probably see and hear Wraith from that distance, so again, countered by ears and eyes

The difference between bad wraiths and semi-decent wraiths is that they know how to approach at weird angles and uncloak behind walls. Your eyes and ears have little use when you're doing a gen and you don't know where he's going to pop up next. The growling noise tends to be subtle.

They're powerful because they give wraiths a huge advantage on certain indoor maps.

  • He's borderline OP right now and the most boring killer to play against, either he straight up slugs your team or you run him for 5 gens. Sprint burst and Windows of oppurtunity seems to counter him a lot.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3119041#Comment_3119041

Wraith doesn't have any OP Add-Ons, and if a Survivor is in low MMR, they probably aren't experienced

They're two different sentences and the Iridescent clapper and All seeing blood is OP since you won't be hearing anything until they're fully uncloaked meanwhile they can see you behind walls and floors, and that's how experience survivors get gen grabbed, Heck, i even see unhooking grabs against SWF.

  • Addon Nurse wasn't the same experience from when I started maining Nurse in the past, It's easier and I don't need any guessing at all, even with just two blinks I can hit people without line of sight, just as long as the first blink is near the target.

If a good SoloQ team dies to a mediocre Wraith, the team wasn't good

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3116485#Comment_3116485

Your perception of "experienced" survivors is very interesting because as long as you use your eyes it's very unlikely you get gen grabbed even if he has silent bell + no terror radius.

Context error, i said i've seen experienced survivor get gen grabbed by semi decent wraiths using OP addons, and baby wraiths get 4k's more often in low mmr.

  • They can't fix Nurse so they just settle with nuking SoloQ with OP killer and OP addons.

  • Easy Killer with OP addons and basekit Undetectable make him impossible to counter in SoloQ. I've seen a lot of experienced survivors get gen grabbed by semi-decent wraiths.

Not to mention, he's so good at tunneling, you won't believe how many baby killers use him in SoloQ just to face camp and get an easy 4k.

If you're not in a safe pallet or long loop you're dead when he uncloaks.

You want the entity dead or close to death? Cause of Death: Starvation.

  • Depends on the map, never cleanse or unhook in Dead Dawg.

  • Sometimes I try to think the devs are sabotaging the game just so we can all play Civilization instead.

  • I've given up playing Deathslinger ever since I learned most of his "skilled shots" are based on server RNG. I started playing Hag again, though.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS8v2ZsWRNw

  • I got bored reading all that for nothing, so your point was that Map Offerings busted keeping Nurse OP and letting SoloQ suffer.

I started disagreeing with you when you said Haddonfield was busted. For a Billy main, that's a good map to learn curves. The rest seems like you ranting about how bad you are at the game.

Why not just buff all killers (except Nurse and Blight) and SoloQ so we wouldn't have to feel desperate every time someone brings a Map Offering?

Also, Nurse, without OP addons, is borderline balanced on certain maps, but with the OP addons, she has no business being in the same game as a Trapper or Myers, who you know damn well doesn't have any power against decent survivors yet doesn't get any buffs.

  • Leave Miguel alone he's been through enough.

  • Oh no, anyway, let's buff Pain Resonance and DMS - BHVR

  • Screenshot (1130).png

Tunneled, Betrayed, and a little bit of hitting on the hook. I dunno, I'm not playing anymore.

Deliverance doesn't work when you're the last one in-game...

  • It's like people goes to play DBD whenever a new patch rolls out and mysteriously leaves when it gets too boring again, Surprising! not*

  • Not wanting to try!? Not wanting TO TRY!?

Then what the ######### have I've been doing all this time?!

I've been rushing gens like there's no tomorrow and still here I am looking for a hatch. What the ######### have I not been doing?

    Screenshot (1120).png
  • If you think Survivors are throwing just to increase killer's kill rate then you have gone and lost it, I've been trying to make my fun builds to work during the past few days and its sad to say, Nothing but except a few Meta build seems to work, since the Gen repair have increased not having looping/anti tunneling perks seems to get me killed faster. and I've been running Head-on and Deception long before DH got nerfed.

We're just trying to survive here, don't blame us with your weird conspiracy theory BS.

TLDR; Longer gens repair + Fun survivor perks = Death

  • New Gen Repair minus the buffs they gave to overcharge. They shouldn't be able to stack it with Call of Brine, and Eruption is overkill.

  • People are still using dead hard?

    this

  • That's a Myers problem not a Gen problem.

  • Meh, A full hex build with plague is better, plague can survive even without perks since she has a built in snowballing mechanic, legion not so much.

    In order:

Only ten seconds per generator which isn't really the kind of thing you're going to feel - you already commit 80 seconds if you're repairing a generator solo, what's ten more?

DS is less useful but has a clear replacement on top of some basekit changes.

Two stacks of STBFL. It'll help the killer cut down on downtime across an entire match, but that's not the part that you're really going to notice in a single chase. Probably should've led with the shorter sprint duration after you're hit, that's one you'll actually notice- not that it's a disastrous situation or anything.

Tunnelling and camping is far more nuanced than just not being affected or being buffed. Tunnelling took a hit- it's impossible to hard tunnel someone off hook, and there are tools that'll help even further; you say DS was made useless (which isn't quite true, it's only really useless against two killers) but make no mention of Off The Record, which is its clear replacement and is far better at the job than DS ever was. Overall, tunnelling got addressed; perhaps not enough, but definitely enough to be noticed. Camping... is stickier, because doing all the gens and leaving is harder, but saves are more effective since tunnelling is now harder. It breaks out about even, so camping still needs work but probably isn't going to get noticeably worse.

Adding comms is an actively bad idea, but even if it weren't... that doesn't make survivor worse. It's just a lack of something that'd make it better.

There will be some minor adjustments to make on the player side and this patch is not perfect, but it's just sensationalising to act like survivor is going to be unplayable because games will take a little longer and you have to change what perks you bring.

Gen Regression Perks exists, Pentimento exists, Thanatophobia exists. Call of Brine exists.

SoloQ's aren't the most efficient when it comes to gen; they either run around doing glyphs, looking for totems, doing their daily, or finishing some useless tome, which often leads to everyone getting killed even more. It's part of the game. Don't blame the players. Blame the useless reward system.

We expect DS to be the Meta Perk that will keep Blights and Nurse from getting an easy 4k. It was an equalizer for SoloQ since MMR is broken and most SoloQ teams consist of 2 average players, 1 veteran, and a bad player who is guaranteed to drag the whole team down.

Two stacks of STBFL are enough to even make Demogorgon powerful in open areas. Pair that with STBFL and you can get an instant down. Any killer who can close the distance quickly and use STBFL correctly will be boosted by the extra two stacks.

OTR isn't a good replacement for DS. If anything, it just makes the game even more toxic and it doesn't stack with basekit BT anymore, so it's useless against Blights and Nurse or anyone running STBFL, who can hit you twice right after you get unhooked.

I don't want Voice Comms either, we just want a Callout/Ping System.

  • @jesterkind said:

I'm still surprised more than one or two people think this patch is going to make survivor unplayable. While reading all of it the only thought I had about survivor was "damn i'm gonna play some more after this patch hits", since I won't have to rely on teammates as much for a few key things and the perk buffs (mostly) look quite nice.

I've yet to hear a compelling argument as to why survivor players, especially solo queue players, should even be unhappy about this patch at all, let alone this mad.

Longer Gen time, DS is useless, Free STBFL, Tunneling and Camping isn't fix yet, Useless 5 seconds BT, and No Comms/Callout system.

  • Bloodlust should not deactivate when kicking pallets.

1 2 3 4 … 10
