Maybe they should have an increased reveal timer, or a reduced reveal range (say 24 meters)? Being able to reveal while incapacitated from up to 32 meters is pretty annoying, as you could accidentally wander into range, from a pretty far distance away.

That seems like a fair compromise

  • Well, atm survivors are different, for example, Ace is the most quiet survivor both injured and uninjured, while claudette is the hardest to spot, Feng is pretty tiny but she is also very loud. Bill has literal camo but he is pretty big and loud. Now that isn't super unique, but it is something to appreciate

  • You realise he is just being tested out right now, and the devs said that the cooldown after shock would be reduced right? If you did nice bait.

  • Having night shroud revealed by incapacitated survivors is to help mitigate and discourage camping, being able to camp as a stealth killer who could immediately expose the rescuer would just promote a hag-like playstyle, why chase when you can just camp and win easier?

spine chill? oh please. wasn't that why everyone complained about spirit? that you needed a specific perk against her?

I didn't even have an issue with spirit I didnt think she was too bad but iron will is a good perk regardless, spine chill is not a fun perk imo and I don't like it nor would I ever need it aside from this one killer who has more problems than just his stealth.

I never said you NEEDED spine chill, although if you have it it makes beating ghostface a lot easier, but he has a lot of indicators of when he is coming, his cloak makes a ton of noise, you have EYES that can ######### SEE him since he needs LOS, and the most obvious is crows, if you listen you will hear crows caw and fly off when survivors or killers disturb them, they are very audible, so listen and look up when you hear them to see where he is approaching from. You need to be aware of the environment and use it against ghostface, crows are something most people don't even notice but knowing gives you an early warning against any stealth killer

So yes I'm aware that jerks exist on both ends of the spectrum, but toxicity is 100% more prominent with high level survivors, which I think is directly linked to how much easier survivor success is right now than killer success. I run into so many survivors that give the role a bad name by being entitled crybabies who literally complain about anything and everything, unless they win, and when they win, they're also toxic about it either in chat, or abusing the remaining methods available to hold the game hostage as long as possible, and sadly it seems that reporting never leads to punishment. Anyway, Survivors literally have multiple answers via perks to every killer tactic, while killers are constantly getting nerfed still. Are the devs aware how difficult it is to even have fun playing killer right now, let alone with the new wave of nerfs? It's nearly impossible to play any slower killers right now because every match, the gens are rushed down so quickly that the game's over before I even have the chance to play certain killers the way they are intended. For me, ghostface and the shape are the two biggest issues. While ghostface moves fast, his core ability relies heavily on a stealthy approach, which makes him feel pretty terrible to play. The shape is just too slow in every aspect for the current state of the game. Why are killers constantly getting nerfs when they're already in a bad spot? Am I the only one concerned about this? I don't enjoy playing survivors personally, and as a killer main, this is pretty concerning to me.

I think most will agree that yes, the game definitely favors survivors a bit more, but atm it isn't by much. BHVR has done a good job removing almost all the BS survivors could use to cheese, they are working on improving maps which are the main problem the game has atm, and stronger killers have been released and the weaker killers have continued to get buffs. Now, a 4 man SWF is still obnoxious and frustrating, but it isn't that common, killers also have ways to really combat these people with more powerful killers, not to mention how a mori can turn a losing game into a cakewalk if you kill someone early on. All things considered the game is in a fairly good place right now, back in 2016 I would totally understand complaints about survivors being ridiculously OP, but nowadays it seems more balanced than ever

And yet buffs were handed out when killer mains cried, now we end up with the killer who a lot would agree is the least fun killer in the game.

his stealth is bullshit. He removes terror radius, has no noise, no red stain, no slowdown or no penalty to attacking unlike other stealth killers

He’s awful and ruins the game for a lot of other players.

its funny how hes not allowed to be changed because people dont find him fun yet when killers didnt find him fun THEN he had to be changed. Double standards. GF was DESIGNED to have a 16m auditory warning.

You have two perks that aren't teachables that totally counter his stealth, he makes plenty of noise (If you actually listen) and his pale white mask gives him away pretty often. You need to pay attention, sure there will be times where you get put on a gen that he will probably get a free hit on since its so risky, but thats his strength, to catch you when you're unprepared and capitalise on it, so don't get caught unprepared, the second you know its ghostface always watch your back, pay attention to your teammates, whether someone gets injured, or the obsession is being chased, or if you see teammates reacting to something its probably him and you should take the hint. His stealth is a powerful ability, but with the proper preparation and vigilance, you can prevent him from catching you off guard.

You could try reading what I wrote instead of going on the defensive.

Old Freddy wasn't the strongest yet everyone hated him. Why? because although he was not OP he was not fun to go against due to his power.

I specifically said Ghostface isn't the most OP killer, nor is he straight up overpowered. He just feels cheap and not fun to face. So taking the usual defensive approach of "git gud" really doesn't work.

People know how to play against Ghostface, they just don't like how he plays. In the same way that people knew how to play against old freddy but nobody found him fun to play against.

That said there is ample evidence that at the moment you CAN'T play against Ghostface correctly as half the time you can't even reveal him.

What you typed just comes off as saying "don't nerf my killer, i like them strong with easy hits that the survivor can do little about". Perhaps I should ask for you to try playing other killers and getting better at getting hits so that you don't need a killer with zero terror radius, zero slowdown, and zero attack delay while cloaked.

If you pay attention he won't get the jump on you, he is meant to be a stealth killer, he constantly pressures survivors by being unpredicatable. Yes I agree revealing him is inconsistent, but an exposed status effect isn't a death sentence, Myers gets looped, Billy gets looped, Haunted grounds, make your choice, Noed. If you can outlast the exposed it doesn't even matter, plus you shouldn't expect the killer to not use their power, especially when their power is good in chase like ghostface's is. Nerfs should not be dolled out because of a subjective opinion of "he's not fun to play against" objectively speaking, he is in a very good spot, he has counterplay and a power that is strong and fun, he is atm the only real stealth killer, it forces survivors to play differently and that doesn't make him unfair, it makes him unique, and not being able to adapt and then complaining isn't a great solution

  • Hell yeah, Shadow Dance wraith and Tuft Myers boutta reach a new level of vaulting speed

  • @thefallenloser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/997822#Comment_997822

You get to remove the killer's power in less than 2 seconds for like 35 seconds.

    "Unearned info" lol.

To address the OP, no. Ghostie is nowhere near OP. He's just okay. He's easy to loop when his power's disabled, has no map pressure, and his power is easily disabled. You can disable his power while running away and after that, he's pretty easy to go against, as he has nothing for the next 35 seconds to use against you.

You are really understating Ghostface's power, he is actually a very good killer, but that doesn't make him OP

    @ClickyClicky said:

I agree he is awful. He's the only killer that makes me not want to play survivor. I will type up my own arguments in the future but for now I fully support changes to Ghostface. He feels very "cheap". I wouldn't say he's straight up overpowered, he just feels unfair and unfun to face like old Freddy did.

idk ######### you're talking about, old Freddy was a joke to play against, he wasn't threatening in the slightest and most of the things survivors deem to be "scummy" didn't even work with him i.e. face camping, slugging. Ghostface is NOT old freddy, he is in a good spot atm and you need to understand that just because you aren't doing well against him doesn't mean he needs a nerf, it means you should improve as a player rather than beg the devs to make it easier for you

You're right about this topic isn't bait. It's my very first time making a post in this forum and I've seen what this forum is like over the months on various topics on killers. Which is normally in the favor of the killer for whatever reason.

Plaquer, personally when it comes to me I always have on Spine Chill lv 3 at all times in my build. I do use it to get a heads up on the killer and plan my moves in advance to evade. But let me tell you. Ghostface killers on the Playstation 4 Mostly snowball survivors constantly and lets be honest the hit range of killer weapons during lunges is pretty long regardless if they are using daggers or short weapons. From my experience Ghostface will end chases in a 1 shot, they do not hit twice, in fact all of them will stalk midchase and bam 1 shot. So trying to prolong a chase is a no go.

They will run I'm all Ears, Barbeque and Chilli, Ruin (Everyone runs this) and the fourth one could be whatever sometimes nurse's calling, corrupt intervention or whatever. They are rampant in PS4 console more than any other killer by far. I ran into four different Ghostface matches in a row. Each game was a hatch game except for one, that particular match Ghostface wanted to Teabag a poor Steve in a sailor outfit by using camping and tunneling tactics.

And if that wasn't bad enough. I discovered that Ghostface can put exposure on multiple survivors at once. And it happened when two survivors went to go make a save on a hook survivor and well a Ghostface was camping nearby. After during the unhooking the two survivors both had that target sign on them. To summarize everyone died and there was only one gen left.

This killer is frankly too powerful. Which is why I created this topic.

Its just practice, you need to work on having good chases, if you can play well, then his exposed effect won't even matter, since he won't hit you in the first place. He can be very frustrating to play against, but a nerf is unnecessary, you just need more experience as a player, work on improving yourself and play around his weaknesses. If something is difficult, practice first, if you're stuck, ask for help, once you have understood how to play around it then make suggestions about changes.

  • Assuming this isn't a bait, Ghostface isn't OP, you just don't know how to play against him, if you know how to win chases as survivor you can outlast the exposed effect and staying vigilant will keep you one step ahead of ghostface, if you really need help, run spine chill, it will give you an early waning to when he is coming and increases your vaulting speed

Dead hard is one of the hardest to use effectively, and isn't that big a deal (just bait it out)

If any other exhaustion perks are on the chopping block, it would be SB imo, but even then its not the most egregious thing in the game.

"Just bait it out" when they dead hard to a pallet it doesn't matter, they get free distance and get a safe loop, good players don't try to bait a swing, they use it to extend loops that can totally cripple a killer, the fact that they can make a mistake and not get punished for it isn't exactly fair

  • @Ryuhi said:

play an instadown killer and the perk literally doesn't exist tho.

    unhooked survivors who don't heal

  • As a survivor: I'm too overconfident, I've had many situations where my aggressive play style has forced me to 1 for 1 someone on the hook or cause the killer to camp. This also leads to me dying quite early fairly often, leaving my teammates a player down fairly early

As a Killer: My aim is very jittery at times, and I tend to sometimes switch targets too often, leading to survivors not really being pressured, I also focus a lot on chases so finding hiding survivors and tracking scratch marks can be a struggle

  • Bond is generally better than kindred since it is always available, the amount of info it gives you is very useful, most of the time you don't need to know what your teammates across the map are doing, but being able to see those nearby can help you heal injured teammates, decide you next actions based on what people around you are doing, it helps keep the killer away from your teammates and lets you know where and what objectives are being completed. Bond is so incredibly applicable that it provides an insane advantage that kindred can't always provide. Personally I believe Bond is the best aura reading perk due to its general applicability and how that information helps save time and coordinate with random teammates

I tried a few games with the "New Doc" I'm not impressed. I just don't understand.. I've been rolled on by teams using the Original Doc, Hex:Ruin, etc. "Using a map" I've had teams take out both of my hex totems within the first minute of playing.. I mean do they really want matches to last 5-10 minutes? I'm used to matches lasting 20-30 minutes. There's just not enough time to get around the map as a killer.

Thats fair, he is still far from being a great killer although the new changes have been an improvement, thanks for being reasonable and actually expressing your thoughts, I have to agree that there are too many killers that lack the mobility they need to assert pressure on survivors and that is certainly something that must be adressed

  • You haven't even tried it, the PTB is to test this stuff so give it a chance and then give your opinion, thats the point of the PTB, stop just blindly flaming the devs

    1. They aren't really nerfing Doc, they are changing him completely
    2. The PTB isn't out yet so you don't even have experience with the new changes
    3. The PTB is to TEST these things, try them out and give your opinion, if they are bad changes then the devs will listen
    4. The change to Ruin could actually push the devs to make games longer by default, rather than forcing us to rely on a perk

I finished every tome for every level. You're insane if you think people should be able to finish the entire rift in 35 days, that's an unreasonable amount of playtime in dbd for the majority of the community to do.

Well I did it, plus that only means that I was able to do it in HALF the time, if I'm able to do it in half the time I'm sure others can do it in the full 70 days

So what you're saying is that it'd be to broken and unfair if survivors were punished for making mistakes? Because if you gave the killers 5 hooks and can't even focus enough to hit skill checks without a warning then I don't think a killer's perk should be blamed for your problems.

Huntress's lullaby is incredibly powerful, being able to almost entirely remove the ability to heal or do gens is incredibly strong, but making that a permanent passive ability will be too much, without any risk to the killer, they will almost always know where every survivor is, not to mention the passive regression being caused by the constant missed skill checks, not to mention the effect it could have if used with doctor when combined with unnerving presence and overcharge. I understand that Lullaby needs a buff but this isn't the way to go about it.

If she gets a hit every 6 seconds, the survivors are just bad.

No, it just means that she is good, its not like you can prevent her from closing the distance, the only chance you have is to trick her, which might not even be possible in many cases. 6 seconds is how long it takes for her to recharge her blinks without add-ons

  • Here's how to nerf Adrenaline: JUST RUN NOED

  • @Astrian said:

I play a lot of games, I have a bunch of free time. That being said, I, nor anybody should have to dedicate so much time grinding for levels in the rift. I play more than my fair share of games every single day, I've completed the entire rift for both sides and I'm still only level 64. I'm already playing DbD to the point of getting bored of it, I nor anybody else should have to dedicate so much time to a game for a battle pass that honestly isn't worth the price of admission considering how much grind there is in it.

Do the tomes, they speed up the process immensely, I personally finished the rift in the first 35 days.

  • Please no, permanently having no warning on skill checks not to mention the additional regression, its too much to be just a passive perk

Historicly in a game that is a few years old ok.

    I just leave this here.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/398/4A494UUNC0WZ.jpg

You can clearly see she wasn't at the bottom for pc. But she used to be the most popular.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/103/8BOLFYNH0D9I.jpg

Compare that to the recently released ones, compare it then to what almo posted about her killrate being at 43 or something. Oh and she is a little less popular than clown by now.

Don't know what it needs that some people realize that this isn't a good result.

Only on Console, she sucks on console but on PC she is by far the best killer, P.S. her killrates may not be too high on average even on PC since she is the most difficult killer to play atm, people struggling with her power is not a sign that she is weak, just a sign that she is hard to play

  • No, because I don't enjoy Nurse, I play mostly Huntress, she is total garbage IF you play her poorly, but Nurse has incredible potential still, the few good nurse players (emphasis on FEW, since most nurse players relied on crutches before the nerf) they can still stomp a well organized team since nurse's lethality is still unmatched, having the ability to essentially guarantee a hit every 6 seconds is immensely powerful

  • She's not bad, you're just bad at playing her, you don't deserve to be good at the best killer in the game, its a privilege, learn how to play well and stop complaining about how bad nurse players can't get free wins thanks to addons

Scratchmarks are incredibly easy to follow, a 5 year kid can do it. I don't remember when I lost a survivor last time because I couldn't follow his scatchmarks. I have NEVER seen anyone using Predator. There goes the "incredibly annoying to follow" theory.

I'm not talking about anything crazy, maybe 30% wider, but it would be an interesting perk, probably for those who prefer stealth, I would definitely use it.

Heres the thing, its probably because they don't care if you follow them, most survivors actually enjoy the chase and aren't immersed, if someone really wanted to lose you, they have plenty of tools at their disposal to do so

I know these perks exists, they don't have the same functionality.

If the killer is close to you Lighweight is totally useless. The killer can still see exactly where the tracks are going. Other perks are useless for the most part and too situational, that's why you hardly see them being used.

With a perks that makes scratchmarks spread wider you can mindgame the killer during the chase much easier.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/934413#Comment_934413

No, not like diversion. You just sprint and the scratch marks spread wider in all directions. As soon as you break line of sight it will be harder for the killer to guess what direction you run. You can double-back easier. Sure, you can do it without such a perk, but it would allow more interesting strategies during the chase and more mindgaming instead of the boring looping.

Scratch marks can be annoying as hell to track already, these perks give you a chance to escape and hide, if you used quick and quiet with dance with me, you could easily confuse the killer long enough for you to make distance. Making scratches even more spread out would be incredibly frustrating since they are already difficult to follow, can be covered by grass and behind structures, and because we already have perks dedicated to making scratch marks harder to follow. You need to actually put in effort to lost the killer, you shouldn't just equip a perk and suddenly be impossible to track

  • Super cool idea, but remember to put it in the feedback section

  • Preventing tunneling isn't the killer's responsibility, it is the rescuer's responsibility, the rescuer is responsible for taking aggro and letting the unhooked survivor recover, if you both hide, chances are the killer is only going to find the injured person since they are easier to track and are at their weakest. Don't act like its the killer's fault if they can only find the unhooked survivor.

  • @Troman said:

A perk for survivors that would make scratchmarks appear more spread. It would be the opposite of Predator. It would be very useful for losing the killer and for those who prefer double-backing during the chase, instead of looping until you get downed.

Right now it's almost impossible for a good killer to lose a sprinting survivor.

Run Lightweight, Poised, Dance with Me, or Distortion. All 4 help reduce or remove scratch marks

  • Why though? If a survivor in the group had Bond or anything they would be able to give callouts about where non swf teammates are anyways, (plus when you have a teammate who abandons you and waits for hatch when you still have a chance to survive is super annoying and they deserve to be sandbagged tbh)

This was never the case, as far as I am aware. I believe the devs have themselves stated that this is not and was never how the boxes worked.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/929628#Comment_929628

I'm not convinced that such a scenario is as likely as you believe. The way I see it, the two most likely scenarios are:

    1) The Pig does not actively hound the Trapped Survivor because that wastes time, so the add-on basically does nothing (as is the case with the current RBT penalty add-ons except arguably Rusty Attachments).

    2) The Pig does actively hound the Trapped Survivor to take advantage of the Oblivious Status effect, so the RBT isn't properly stalling like it is intended to.

For the first thing, it was never intentional but it was proven, it was directly addressed and fixed by the devs. I understand the point about the face mask, but why not go after people with RBTs on? They are the most vulnerable people and the best targets, the thing survivors don't want you to do is to go after the guy with a RBT, because it is the best option you have as a killer

  • Spirit and Nurse need to have counterplay (guessing isn't counterplay), and maps need to be reworked similar to badham (increased unsafe pallets, safe pallets in buildings) to make base killer stronger, Legion's Power needs to be scrapped and replaced, maps should be smaller or killers should have a more mobile mode (similar to Last Year: The Nightmare). Lastly the devs need dedicated playtesters to give them accurate feedback, and they shouldn't pander to people who are just angry or inexperienced.

  • Are you disconnecting from the lobby? If thats happening then it isn't the killer dodging, its your connection cutting out, since lobbies now remain even when the killer leaves, so you can just sit in the lobby and wait for a new killer if someone dodges

  • Love him or hate him this man is spittin' straight FACTS

  • please no, thats so boring, noone enjoys being stunned or doing anything, theres a reason so many killers run enduring, if anything it will just make enduring + spirit fury an even more meta combo

  • @Pigpen said:

Any killer can "force" a kill by camping the hook. That's way more effective than camping a jigsaw box. Hooks lure other survivors off of gens. If the Pig camped a box and the survivor knew about it they could even go do a gen or two before they died, making it even worse on the Pig. So while sure it would secure 1 kill the Pig would be throwing the whole match by doing it. Also, how would the Pig know which is the last box?

It would matter, if you haven't searched any boxes then she could stand infront of any of them and it would be the last one. Even if she threw the game it would still be unfun, its like getting tunneled by a salty killer, they will probably be throwing the game by focusing you, but they don't care, they just want to ruin your day (whether it is justified or not doesn't matter)

  • The problem with FF being lethal is Legion's mobility, he is able to totally ignore pallets and windows, and his slow and uncounterable lethality was the main reason he got nerfed in the first place, slowly being wittled down by someone you can't even avoid or outrun is what made him so boring. Personally I think FF needs to be scrapped and Legion should have a new power.

People who say stuff like this are allowing the game to continue on its poor state. There is no such thing as "pressure" thats just a piece of survivor propaganda so they don't get the slowdown the game really needs. You can chase 1 person at a time. Not using ruin is a handicap.

If one person is on the hook, and one person is getting chased, and gets downed immediately after the other person was saved from the hook, how many people do you think will be doing gens? Downing people quickly applies pressure, not chasing people, so i don't think you understood that killers forcing altruism is what slows the game down, not just them chasing. Thats why killers like Billy, Spirit, and Nurse, don't need ruin at all, they down survivors so quickly that they are too busy saving each other to finish the gens. Ruin isn't necessary, there are plenty of alternatives, although I understand using it on weaker killers since they need he time to remove pallets and hook people since it will take longer for them

  • @TAG said:

As always, my thoughts are merely opinions.

Vaulting windows/pallets while dashing: I'm not sure she needs this. IMO, this would just take away from the identity of the Legion, who is already suffering enough as is.

"Fix" the RNG: I strongly suspect that the user does not understand how the boxes function. There is no RNG involved in actually searching the boxes; either you've found the correct box, or you haven't. Not saying that something couldn't be done in helping with the variance, but it doesn't seem like the person understands the issue.

Increasing crouch speed: Yeah, I think I am okay with this.

Changing the activation of the RBTs: I think #1 (activates upon being unhooked or healing from the dying state) COUUUULD be okay maybe, but that's about it. Even then, I probably wouldn't make it so it activates from being healed. Maybe either from being unhooked or from a gen finishing. I think if someone gets healed off the ground because they were left slugged, they shouldn't be penalized.

Rules Set No. 2 base kit: Not my preferred solution (I prefer first box being auto-fail), but I'm still okay with it.

Jigsaw Box only opens for a Survivor with an active RBT: Not sure what the point would be. At worst, it invalidates RSN2. Survivors now won't have the option of playing it wrong (searching for boxes with no aura) and will effectively be forced into doing the correct thing (doing a gen to activate the trap and see the box auras).

Increase the RBT timer to 3 minutes: Please no. I know this is meant to be done in conjunction with the previous two things, but I'd say just make RSN2 base kit and forget parts 2 and 3.

    Original Reverse Bear Trap:

    1) I'm going to assume that the rarities of all of these add-ons will be adjusted accordingly because this and some others seem like way too much at their current rarities.

    2) This add-on seems really badly designed. It is basically just "Survivor runs to a corner, does an extended mending, and prays."

Shattered Syringe: I'm for buffing Syringe, but this isn't it to me.

    Utility Blade: See above.

Razor Wire: This would have to be at least a Very Rare IMO, and even then I am not sure this is a good idea.

Face Mask: I feel like this still just promotes tunneling the trapped Survivor, which is counterproductive to the goal of RBTS.

Broken Reverse Bear Trap: No. This does absolutely nothing except in the times where it is more powerful than an Ebony Mori, with absolutely no middle ground and no strategy whatsoever. It is about as frustratingly coin-flippy as it gets. Absolutely no good can come from this.

Improvised Reverse Bear Trap: The problem with this is that it means that the Pig now has a 50% chance of being able to just facecamp a Box and make sure the Survivor guaranteed dies. It might not be strategically sound, but it does promote unhealthy, trollish gameplay IMO.

Interlocking Razor: The Razor Wire idea at least can't down a Survivor. This does not have that safeguard, so I am against it.

The Game: I am going to assume that this only works once a Trap becomes active because I refuse to believe that the person who came up with this idea did not seriously do so while also suggesting that RBTs can only be removed once it becomes active. Beyond that, I think this is a really bad idea. Either people just 99% the gens, rendering this pointless, people don't think to 99 the gens and allow the Pig to tunnel the Trapped Survivor to death, or there is a troll in the Survivor team who decides to kill the Trapped Survivor for the memes.

Tampered Timer: I would not reduce the timer any further. I'd be okay with adding another ability to it (potentially in exchange for less time being stricken from the clock), as Tampered Timer either does nothing or everything.

A Worthy Tool: This kinda just basically reads as "Infinite RBTs", and I don't think manually having to recover them from a box is enough of a downside to off-set that.

Amanda's Secret: I'd personally change it to just one person (the Obsession) and remove the downside of RBT inventory reduction. Basically just make it a better Last Will.

Rules Set No. 2: I have no idea why this was made when The Game was also suggested as an idea. I think this has similar problems to The Game (though obviously less bad).

Amanda's Letter: This I am in support of.

Face mask could put a ton of pressure on hooked survivors, most people with traps won't go for saves, but if they are the only players not being chased it can force them to make a risky decision, especially since they can't use BT and will be forced to at least take a hit if you are anywhere close by.
