The Ghost Face - Add-On and Teachable Perks Changes (+ Minor Tweaks)

Okay, last time.

I've done two posts now to update Ghostie and make him a bit better. I... somehow forgot to actually include my changes for the add-ons and perks in the last post.

I can see why no one commented, lol.

I promise, this is (probably) my last one.

With a ton more Ghostie experience under my belt, here's some stuff that I think Ghostie needs to make him pretty much perfect.

_______

Night Shroud Tweaks:

  • downed and hooked survivors can no longer reveal The Ghost Face
    • (CHANGE: DOWNED AND HOOKED SURVIVORS WILL HAVE A REDUCED REVEAL RANGE)
  • hitting a survivor who is not fully marked will only regress the Stalk progression by 15%

Currently, incapacitated survivors interrupting and interfering with Ghostie's power is pretty annoying, as they can do it pretty much for free. It doesn't make much sense that they can do that seeing as they're incapacitated.

Often times with Ghostie you find yourself having to choose to hit a survivor when they're pretty close to being exposed or letting them go and instantly downing them later on. With a change such as this, you won't find yourself at such a conflict, as you will still be able to maintain some Stalking progression, which would be very beneficial, as players will not find Stalking as such a time-waster anymore.

(change i would like to see: while in night shroud, ghostie's movement speed is increased by 0.3 m/s -- seeing as he doesn't have much map pressure, a slight boost in speed while using his power would be a great improvement)

Add-On Changes:

  • Common Add-Ons
    • "Philly" - Slightly reduces the stalk time. (previously applied only when not leaning)
    • Walleye's Matchbook - Slightly reduces Night Shroud recovery time. Slightly increases Killer Instinct duration when The Ghost Face is revealed. (previously only reduced recovery time)
    • Headlines Cutouts - (no change)
    • Cheap Cologne - (no change)
    • Reusable Cinch Straps - (previously uncommon, now common)
    • Olsen's Journal - Moderately increases movement speed when stalking. Moderately increases marked duration on survivors. (previously only applied an increase in movement speed while stalking)
    • Olsen's Address Book - (no change)
    • Marked Map - Moderately increases Killer Instinct duration when The Ghost Face is revealed. (previously slightly increases duration)
  • Rare Add-Ons
  • Uncommon Add-Ons
    • Telephoto Lens - Moderately reduces the stalk time. Survivors who have been stalked will reveal their auras for 2 seconds when performing a fast vault action. This effect can only be activated once every 35 seconds. (previously applied only when not leaning and slightly, as well as with the additional effect of slightly increased exposed duration)
    • Olsen's Wallet - Moderately decreases the detection range to reveal The Ghost Face while Night Shroud is active. (previously increased movement speed while stalking)
    • Leather Knife Sheath - Considerably increases movement speed while stalking. Moderately increases movement speed while crouched. (previously only increases movement speed while crouched)
    • Lasting Perfume - Moderately decreases exposed duration on survivors. Downing a marked survivor will block all generators from survivors that are not being repaired for 13 seconds. This effect can only be triggered every 60 seconds. (previously only increased exposed duration)
    • Knife Belt Clip - (no change)
    • Chewed Pen - Considerably reduces Night Shroud recovery time. Considerably increases Killer Instinct Duration when The Ghost Face is revealed. (previously only reduced recovery time)
    • Drop-Leg Knife Sheath - Considerably increases movement speed when crouched. Survivors who were at least 50% marked will be put into the Deep Wound state if hit. (previously only increased crouched movement speed)
    • Driver's License - The Ghost Face cannot be revealed by survivors. Tremendously increases Night Shroud recovery time when missing an attack. (previously considerably decreased detection range to reveal)
    • "Ghost Face Caught On Tape!" - When downing a marked survivor, The Ghost Face automatically regains Night Shroud and any survivor within 24 meter radius will scream and instantly become exposed. (previously tremendously decreased stalk time when leaning and tremendously increased stalk time when not leaning)
  • Ultra Rare Add-Ons
    • Outdoor Security Camera - (no change)
  • Very Rare Add-Ons
    • Victim's Detailed Routine - While in Night Shroud, blood trails are considerably more discernible and scratch marks are considerably more accurate. When hitting a survivor, your terror radius is reduced by 4 meters to a max of 16 until revealed by a survivor.
    • Night Vision Monocular - (no change)

Ghostie's add-ons are pretty boring and some of them are pretty weak. By combining some add-ons as well as taking inspiration from the more unconventional and fun add-ons such as Myers' and Nurse's, Ghostie will have much better, and much more fun add-ons in his arsenal.

Teachable Perk Changes:

  • I'm All Ears
    • reduce cooldown to 25 seconds to align more with Quick & Quiet
  • Thrilling Tremors
    • reduce cooldown to 35 seconds
    • apply 5% regression to blocked generators
  • Furtive Chase
    • increase tokens cap to 6
    • reduces terror radius by 5.3 meters per token in chase
    • on the 6th token, the killer is Undetectable

These perk tweaks will have these perks see much more play, as they will be a bit more close to in power as other meta perks.

_______

Let me know what you think of these changes, all! What would you change about Ghostie, whether that be his power, his add-ons, or his perks. Do these add-ons such more fun and interesting?

Thanks for reading!

  • "downed and hooked survivors can no longer reveal The Ghost Face"

This is a really bad idea to be honest. Most GF players camp enough as it is. If the hooked/downed survivor could not reveal him then every hook/slug would be more of an ambush than it is now.

I've seen you on the other post about Ghostie

You're speaking for most people in all of your posts regarding Ghostie when in reality you're just speaking from your own experience.

You do not speak for most people, and just because you have been slugged and camped by Ghostie, doesn't make it widely applicable. Another can say the exact opposite.

Many people seem to agree hes the campiest of all killers. Even Leatherface mains are shocked.

Jokes aside though the reason hooked and slugged survivors can reveal him is precisely because of this. The devs said it themselves. Its to stop him camping.

Removing that would just buff his camping anility which isn’t fun for anyone. I dont see why he needs that anyway, you hook the survivor, walk away and then activate night shroud. If you arent hanging around the hook then you dont need to worry about that survivor revealing you

The devs also said that camping and slugging is a viable strategy, so where exactly did the devs say this?

Also survivors can reveal from up to 35 meters away, and he has a 32 meter terror radius. You don't want to let survivors within that radius hear you coming.

It was in one of the streams around his launch because people kept asking for that.

  • Having night shroud revealed by incapacitated survivors is to help mitigate and discourage camping, being able to camp as a stealth killer who could immediately expose the rescuer would just promote a hag-like playstyle, why chase when you can just camp and win easier?

Maybe they should have an increased reveal timer, or a reduced reveal range (say 24 meters)? Being able to reveal while incapacitated from up to 32 meters is pretty annoying, as you could accidentally wander into range, from a pretty far distance away.

That seems like a fair compromise

  • Eh..as much as I like the idea..the devs would take a baseball bat to his stalk and reveal mechanics if they added that inability for hooked and downed people to reveal him ..they wouldnt be able to resist..I do like the iri addon and perk changes though..very cool

They have a point though. This would just encourage camping, which is not a good idea. This would also hurt solo survivors, but not swf survivors. That's why I would not want to see this change myself either.

This is fair. I do actually see how this could be abused now. @ClickyClicky was right, though I still feel as though it can be really annoying to get revealed when you're really far away by a hooked survivor. I think that it would be a fair compromise to have them have a reduced reveal range instead.

True, actually. Maybe the reveal range can be reduced for hooked and downed survivors?

That would be nice..at least I wouldnt have to be a lile away to cloak again without getting "spotted"
