It’s a pretty bad change imo. It excemplifies his current design flaws and leaves survivors with next to no counterplay
At a low wall loop? Either just take the knives or try to dodge and lose distance for an M1 or more knives
At high wall loop? Take 3-4 knives per rotation thanks to throw speed buff until you get injured or predrop if the pallet is safe and try to make distance
It’s a bad set of changes imo that will need a considerable look over if they even want to change him at all

The main thing I questions is they said that the Twins rework was moved because other priorities. Was anyone calling for this Trickster change? Was it more important?
Trickster seems to be a developer favourite due to the amount of work that was put into him.
His list of post launch changes is drastically longer than most killers, He gets tons of cosmetics despite a relative low pick rate and got his archive very soon after his release (back when that wasn’t a common thing)
Compare that to someone like slinger and we can see a bit of bias imo

So just like any other killer with a power that hits over structures.
No one enjoys a mechanic where your power is effective based on rng.
Huntress and slinger actually have a long cooldown for missing alongside 110% speed giving survivors time to run away and find a new better loop if they outplay and dodge the shot
Trickster doesn’t allow this. He throws constant knifes with little cooldown, moves at 115% now and can easily pull his knifes up and down for little cost
-

I really worry about the fun factor with this. If the killer can aim at all, you just go down at any structure he can hit over.
He doesn’t even need amazing aim tbh. Once the survivor is on their way to the pallet they have 2 choices
- Run through and take 3-4 knives
- Try to dodge and potentially take even more if he has even half decent aim
Why dodge him if it only allows his new 115% speed self to get close. He has no long cooldown after throw like slinger or huntress so no real penalty to missing especially since he can now M1 loop while out of knives pretty well
-
@Zokenay said:
Remember Trickster is really unlikely to injure a survivor from afar, unlike Huntress or even Slinger, since it takes several shots (Even more now) to injure someone, rather than one hit, so him moving faster or having a bigger TR, hardly helps in that regard, it mostly helps him at looping, where he seriously struggled at tall loops.
Regarding the other stuff, we will have to see it first.
My concern is that at any low wall loop the survivor has no option now. Run away and get injured, loop around and get guaranteed injured by knives, throw pallet and get hit with knives
Now that he’s 115% making distance doesn’t work as well especially since he can throw faster bursts of knives from afar to keep laceration from going down
-

Faster recovery after being hit with knives is a pretty big deal, I wouldn't jump to conclusions right now.
4.6 is the real deal though
It doesn’t particularly matter in most cases since he can now hit you with way more knives per loop and is faster during each rotation
-
The pain point for survivor they wanted to address was that “dodging blades felt inconsequential” which it does. Problem is these changes only make that feeling worse and I’ll explain why here.
- He now throws 4 blades a second instead of 3 but ramp up has been removed. In practise this means each loop you will take 2-4 knives per rotation with no way to dodge as attempting to move out of the way will leave you open for way more knives especially when combined with the next change
- He now moves at 4.6 ms with a 32m Terror radius. I’m not sure how this affects movement while holding throwing knifes but it allows him to close the gap on survivors who attempt to dodge and can now close distance on every loop rotation to hit even more knives. Even at high wall loops which usually were a nightmare for him he’ll get through them super quick
- Main event now takes 6 knives to charge instead of 30 but with a 5 second duration. This makes main event much more common but less effective at camping someone. This means getting main event while the survivor is stuck at a low wall loop will be much more common and be essentially a free down with next to no survivor input
I know these will be tested on the PTB first but even on a conceptual level these changes look awful and only exasperated tricksters current issues.
Would love info on his movement speed while holding/throwing blades and if that’s getting changed too
-
Unlike killers like huntress Xeno gets countered by turrets. It’s on the survivor to play around the counterplay they are given
If you are in a loop without turrets it’s no different than being in a deadzone against bubba. You got outplayed or played poorly since you are out of position
-
At least it’s kinda dark but yeah trapper has been indirectly nerfed so much that a lot of his buffs don’t really matter too much
-
He definitely has a high skill floor and ceiling but he’s fine tbh. Nothing wrong with a killer who requires a lot of skill to use
-
Knight easily
Added nothing of interest and his perks are pretty boring. Face the darkness makes pig boxes even more frustrating and the aura perk made the call of brine 3 gen even more obnoxious
Knight’s gameplay is a literal flowchart with no deviation. Either you get hit or you don’t simple as. He also relies on common add-ons to even use his power properly
-
Meg objectively has the best with 2 meta options and 1 more niche but still strong choice
Gabriel is actually pretty high up too. All 3 perks are useful with made for this being meta.
-
She’s 100% better now. Sadly that’s mostly due to her power demolishing solo queue players similar to pinhead’s
Hopefully they can find a middle ground with her condemned and make it feel more fair while still being a mechanic that needs to be managed on the survivor end. Right now she gets so much reward for very little skill required
-
Honestly forged in fog was just bad. Bhvr have no clue what they want Vittorio to be, knight’s gameplay is just a flowchart and borgo is migraine inducing
Tools was pretty bad but it had some fun perks and a decent shelter woods rework.
End transmission was actually great overall though. Cool killer with a good power and alright perks

Honestly the Knight take isn’t even a hot take. It’s just mostly facts.
Fair enough but I feel people have gone soft on knight since skull merchant exists. It’s understandable people dislike her but that doesn’t mean knight is suddenly fine

Idk how controversial these are but here we go.
- Nurse shouldn't exist in her current state.
- Killer is infinitely more fun than survivor.
- The game, for the most part, is more balanced than most of the community is willing to admit.
- Clown's yellow bottle is actually extremely good and turns him into a strong enough killer when used right.
- SWF is balanced. You play against more swf than you realise and lose to more solos than you realise.
- Pain resonance is the most annoying perk to use and to play against. (Feels useless when using but amazing when playing against idk why).
- DS needs to be reverted to 5 second stun.
- Coup de Grâce is slept on.
Yeah people act like the 10% haste isn’t much but then complain about MFT’s 3%
It’s very powerful and allows clown to play nearly any loop even when the pallet is down
-
- Knight is the most boring killer in the game and one of the worst designed. He has a 1 note playstyle which only allows survivors to hold forward. He is also super reliant on low rarity add-ons to use his power properly (dried horse meat and map of the realm)
- Gen regression and progression perks shouldn’t exist or should be heavily restricted. They handicap build variety by either being so bad they’re useless or so good they can carry killers/survivors to a skill level they don’t belong. We seen this with the CoB/Overcharge meta which was by far the worst killer meta the game has faced
- Skull merchant’s design is fine. Her weapon is cool and the mask conceptually fits her character. I understand if you don’t like her but there’s nothing conceptually wrong with how she looks and in my opinion it works well

It gives you few (maybe two-digit of) additional meters for every windows/pallet you uses, it very well enhance holding W a lot, just that it's even stronger in looping.
No other exhaustion perks are THIS strong, all those perks only works for a tile or two while this perk works for every tiles and allows survivors to chain the tiles they otherwise couldn't, MASSIVELY enhancing holding W unlike those exhaustion perks.
That isn’t holding W though that’s just chaining tiles. In which case I’d agree depending on the killer being played and the skill of the survivor
If were talking about holding W as I understand it then overcome is better. It’s way more consistent and allows you to potentially break the chase completely after a hit unlike MFT. 3% is big in tight loops but from point A to B isn’t as noticeable with plenty of killers being able to deal with the added speed
-
Made for this is much better in tight looping scenarios than holding W. If you want to hold W overcome is much more viable than MFT
In tight loops against 110% killers it’s absurd though
-
It’s not abusing the mechanic. That being said the mechanic in question is dumb and should’ve never been added even as a fun event thing
It’s on par with the snowmen working as shields if not worse
-
Borderlands 2
Handsome Jack could be a fun killer I guess. Similar to knight summoning different loaders which can do different things
Survivor I’d pick Lillith since she’s the most iconic character outside of claptrap and a siren.

I love Gabe, so yes, I'm really excited. Can't wait to see the deep rift skin he gets. The black/blue vibes are wonderful.
Didn’t they say future deep rifts wouldn’t all be blue? Pretty sure they said they will be different
-
To be honest I’m glad it’s wesker compared to old spirit or nurse. Going against back to back prayer beads spirit made me want to just play something else. At least wesker has a power that can be interacted with
It’s not fun to deal with the same killer multiple times but adding a prevention system would be hard to implement and punish people for playing killers they like with long queues
-
Survivor perks aren’t really “fun” to go against since most of them either go unnoticed or help in minor ways. None really add new elements to interact with.
The on,y ones that do are boons and I think they’re in a solid place right now. Not fun to fight but feel impactful when used correctly
-
I really don’t understand the dbd community’s absolute urge to try and ruin events. It’s childish
We all want to have fun in a video game right? That’s literally the whole point
-
Would love to have a Haddie avatar
Probably the same time she gets an archive………..
-
Skull merchant’s haste is undoubtedly useful but going by your logic clown, pinhead and Freddy are all absolute monsters.
Haste on survivors is more useful due to the hitbox being smaller making tight looping even stronger
-
Tbf merchant and knight had their archives which increased play rates for them
Tbh Hux is probably better than both of them depending on the map
-
This doesn’t really fix much. Matchmaking for specific languages would either lead to long wait times or inconsistent matches where any language is allowed
Many don’t want to use Voice chat unless they are with friends. The better solution is a ping system like apex legends uses which allows for information without voice chat
-
Clown can’t really have map pressure without becoming overwhelming. He has a strong, easy to use chase power with little counterplay besides pre throwing.
He’s fine the way he is now tbh besides maybe splitting his ammo in some way
-
The DBD hive mind has returned. Simultaneously complaining about a stale meta while only using CC builds
-
I’ve mentioned this before. Whatever your opinion on MFT is it’s funny that every chapter has an “overpowered” survivor perk that very rarely ends up like that
For the people, soul guard, Wiretap, Hyperfocus, Blood rush, overcome etc. People need to wait and give things a chance before the devs panic nerf it (parental guidance for example)
-
Hag can just put a trap at the loop and shouldn’t be chasing for extended periods of time anyway. If you do that you will lose MFT or not
Not sure about doc and curve billy since I haven’t seen gameplay against them using the perk.
-
If you look at his archive skin (The pig head one) his skin and eyes look way better. It’s just skin based but he does need a rework since his current model is pretty crusty
-
Wouldn’t call the end transmission a flop. The killer is cool and fairly viable and the map was mostly fixed
SWF is an issue the devs can’t solve tbh
While I still personally hate nurse I’d argue blight (add-ons specifically) is a bigger issue
Agreed on perks. So many just suck tbh
Validation is still there and working mostly fine unless you’re in a super laggy game
Honestly the games in a pretty good spot right now and the devs are clearly taking feedback regarding issues (Just recently with singularity)
-
No
The main issue with pig is her design still has rng elements that lead to inconsistent snowball and her power has a low skill ceiling. Her dash is cool but realistically unusable in most loops if the survivors has more than 2 braincells
By buffing her (specifically her traps) she still stays low skill but gets high reward for passive slowdown that’s applied through just playing normally.
Same issue as pinhead really. Her inherently passive slowdown leads to her needing a weaker active power which ends up making things less fun for both sides in the long run
-
I mean compared to Freddy and PH they’re alright but yeah nothing special
-
I don’t necessarily think it’s an issue but movement speed perks in general should be thought out fully before added.
Haste stacking will become more and more an issue the longer this goes on and made for this having next to no activation requirements makes it one of the most potentially problematic ones
-
Nick is pretty approachable from what I know and he loves working on smaller films like willie’s wonderland
Wouldn’t be surprised if bhvr approached and he was excited to do it

Multiple times, mostly in relation to killers as to not glorify those - even something like Jack the Ripper. But I also remember statements from BHVR in regards to requests for famous people as survivors.
They also said no clowns or killers who spoke on previous streams. Suppose they went back on it I guess?
-
Well Haddie might have some competition for being my main now
-
Would love to enter but my country isn’t eligible.
Still though it’ll be great to see everyone’s ideas and the 2 winners (Hoping for Haddie or Jeff to get in)
-
I’d rather not delete any killer even the ones I hate. Every killer has a community who loves them and removing that is not worth it p,us all the development time and cosmetics refunds
I quite like skill merchant and would like her to stay

I think the problem is because there is no an actual matchmaking system. Me and my friends have been playing DBD since 2018 and we get matched with a Micheal myers with 300 hours in DBD… but sometimes we get good killers.
And then when I played Solo Q, I feel like I’m in a low MMR lobby because my teammates play so weird. I had someone with TTV in their name and when I checked their devotion level it was 3 and my devotion level is 25 lol that’s a major gap.
Kinda but even a skilled teammate who’s doing nothing because he’s looking for a glyph or totem will lead to a much harder match

We need the real aliens (From the film laserblast)
-
Comparing a bug to a balance change is apples to oranges.
If you want an example of Overwatchs balance look no further than Brigitte who basically killed the first game due to her abilities and strength
-
Leprechaun is in the same situation as Chucky but especially with voicelines he’d be hilarious
Plus we could get Tupac as a survivor
-
It’s ridiculous to a point where it has to be bias from the devs
When blight’s add-ons come up they buff adrenaline vial since it’s underperforming compared to his busted add-ons (no surprise)
When billy gets his looked at they try to nerf engravings because they overperform compares to his trash add-ons
This is why balancing on stats alone is stupid
-
Nobody is going to purposely throw to get a dead hard or blood rush use. They’re both fine perks
