Yeah I feel either corrupt/discordance/LP is kind of essential unless you're willing to risk having a horrible early game (which is sometimes fine), and I got bored of corrupt long ago even though it's probably the strongest choice. Then after a LP phase I went back to discordance on most killers except blight because I'll won't turn down the opportunity to get my first hit 10 secs into the match πŸ˜‹

Well... Im still at that stage where I don't have everything unlocked on everyone - at 1000 hours in. πŸ˜… So my loadout heavily depends just on that - I have to play with what I have unlocked. But you know what? I somehow like it most of the time as it's forcing me to be more creative around using the perks I have available.

I'm back into discordance since playing more artist.

Also my worst early game feeling used to be double discordance lighting up immediately but lethal pursuer showing four survivors spawning by four different gens is vastly worse :(

Trust me, I know the feeling. πŸ˜‚ But at least with Discordance I'll know where they are and can decide if I need to prioritise one gen over the other as it's in a good three-gen. Without it, both gens might be popping in my face. πŸ™ˆ I like Lethal Pursuer as well because having a decent early game.js so valuable - but like you, I've sometimes had that feeling I've lost as I spawn in. Discordance is a great endgame perk as well though (and that's where it really counters Prove Thyself well).

I'd stay out of it for now, at least until the matchmaking has a chance to account for all the new arrivals. It's...chaos.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002470#Comment_3002470

    But...you said 'all the time?'.

To be fair, I've literally encountered two 'farming' killers (in that they didn't play, they just wanted to farm BP) since I've started playing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002485#Comment_3002485

Yeah, that's unfortunate. Again, I'm not saying it never happens, but I'm saying that it's vanishingly rare in my experience - and letting a single bad experience with a person of a specific category make you treat other people of the same category poorly...that's the sort of thinking I try not to engage in.

I don't treat anyone poorly. I'm just weary of killers suddenly wanting to farm when their match is going badly.πŸ˜‰ This was an anecdote, yes. But it's not an isolated incident, this does happen relatively frequently. I always try to stay in a situation where we can still get out if things get hairy, like making sure they don't get to slug everyone and I try to get all the totems as then brining NOED to catch the survivors who think we are farming off guard is a popular strategy.

I also don't understand why people do this as inflating your MMR that way should just lead to getting outmatched every single time?

  • Prove Thyself is not that much of an issue.

    - Your average Discordance enjoyer

Jokes aside, I do like to rind Discordance but Prove Thyself shines when there are two or less gens left and 3-4 survivors alive. In ideal scenario you will generate pressure at that point that means two people don't even have the time to be on a gen together. If that's not the case, you were probably going to lose this one either way. At the same time, Prove Thyself can be a bit of an issue if the Baby Dwight is following me all over the map all game long, hoping to do a gen with me. πŸ˜…

  • Glad to hear I'm not the only one! As survivor I've been getting hit through windows where I genuinely thought I was well clear. At the same time I've noticed that when Im the killer and I down someone, they teleport a bit on the ground so I suspect things look weird on their end too. My internet connection and ping are usually excellent though.

  • Has it ever been confirmed if we need the challenge to be selected to continue contributing? That makes a huge difference as people might also need to select individual challenges to complete the rift..

Oh whoops. Yeah lethal is perfectly fine. Trading a potential good early game chase for a perk slots is exactly what a perk should be imo: very good but situational.

Exactly that's why I think it's in a good place! I really hope it doesn't get changed too much. But I can't imagine they've put I on the list to just implement a small numbers change or something.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004328#Comment_3004328

It's terrible. It requires you to stop, kick a gen and hope you get a down before that gen pops. Then it also for some reason has a cool down.

The comment was about Lethal Pursuer, which is a perk that shows you survivor auras as you spawn in. I think it's fine because you take a risk -playing the match with 3 perks - for the reward if exactly knowing where you need to go first.

You are talking about Eruption, which I think will be nerfed rather than buffed. It's fine, I actually use it but has to be used with Pop or Call of Brine.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004259#Comment_3004259

If they nerf it I don’t think it’ll get much use anymore. It’s already overrated imo

I think it's ok. It's high risk, high reward and really only worth it on some killers. It's actually in a good place and I don't understand why it's on there or if it's a candidate for a need or a buff!?

  • This has me a bit worried. I play both sides in non-toxic way, which means I also know how others play both sides... and there are a lot of perks in there that are absolutely fine in my opinion, including ones that I'm sure will be nerfed, including Pop, BBQ, Tinkerer, Eruption, Self Care, Spine Chill, Borrowed Time, Lucky Break and Iron Will.

Pesonally I also don't think Ruin should be nerfed as totems tend to go quickly and Ruin tends to only be efficient in a combination with other perks (Undying, Pentimento). You're giving up a lot of slots for that as it is.

Do it as a killer, it's alot easier. Spam dead dog.

i tunnel people because im sick of my time being wasted at the exit gates. If people started leaving when they can i wouldn't be such a sole.

    1. Chase them out

    2. Break pallets/walls (I've hardly ever capped my bloodpoints on them by the time a match is over)

    3. Go get a drink/snack

    4. Break the cycle of hate. People are less likely to teabag if they don't get camped or tunneled often.

Of course at the moment there is a chance people are not leaving because they are still looking for the invitation. Similar to other challenges (Gnome, Green Glyphs).

  • I like balanced matches - can be anything between 1 and 3 kills but the feeling that both sides had the potential to snowball needs to be there. Some of the most fun matches I've had were 1 or 2 kills vs competent teams!

I think the matches that people complain about are on either end of the balance spectrum. I don't necessarily even enjoy 4king, especially when it was against obvious solo queue babies but the problem with this MMR is that I can also not let them go as I'll face more babies. I actually don't want that. πŸ˜‰ Likewise it's not fun to only get 1-2 hooks. Whether the other side are graceful winners is another question, I've actually also had some very nice survivors after these matches where I was outclassed.

Well another thing that's not really clear is, if I contributed 40 Checks/GenKicks already, do consecuttive Checks/Kicks keep getting counted towards the Global Progression, as long as I keep the Quest active?

I assumed my contribution is capped at 40 and selected other challenges over this - even some from the archive just for the BP. πŸ˜… So yes, this would be valuable information as I'd obviously prioritise the community challenge.

Time to run impossible skill check doc and hex ruin.

I'd run Pop, Eruption and even Call if Brine if you feel like it. πŸ˜‰

  • It works the other way round too though. I've been playing super chill with non gen slowdown last night. All I was going for was 4 stacks of BBQ and my tome challenges - which I would sometimes not even get because gens were just flying by.

I don't go to the gate to watch butt dances but some of them were spamming noises to try and get me to come and watch - even in games where I repeatedly slugged ppl on death hook or even just ran past them rather than killing them.

I don't want to outright farm because it's boring if you get that over and over. But playing chill has that repercussion where a lot of survivors seem to think they "beat" you and make sure to let you know. πŸ˜…

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002376#Comment_3002376

That's...a little paranoid. Plus, even if that were the case - you'd still have gotten plenty of BP from them playing for fun :).

This literally happened to me already today. The killer was pretty bad so we didn't actually get a lot of points as there was only one unhook to be done before all gens popped. The killer then pretends to farm. I seem the only one who is cautious... until he slugs three and goes after me too. I managed to get away and potentially worried about Unbreakables he picks up one of the survivors - the only person on death hook at that point. Luckily she had Decisive Strike. We managed to snowball from there and get all four people out but it was only by a hair!

  • I like this idea! Not quite the same but when I pick up anew kille I play them without add one and their three unique perks until adept and/or feel like I understand their power.

However, I'm still learning a lot of the killers - I have almost 1000 hours but split between all killers but one and survivor so I feel like Im still in the learning stage for so many of them. So I still play with add ons and different combinations to really learn what they actually do! Once I'm at a level where I feel like I know, I might switch to a "handicap".

I wasn’t aware of Elix getting attacked as I am not following the DbD streaming community that well. But, yeah, very good point! Especially the fact that drag queens/cross dressers do get marginalized even within the LGBTQ+ community!

I can't say I heavily follow the stream scene. πŸ˜‚πŸ€ Although I admit I watch guides and some content on YouTube. But I actually saw this reported on in the media, especially as it apparently happened live. It's honestly awful, I can't imagine how scary this must have been!

And yes, I agree this thread is prime evidence of such marginalisation happening. πŸ˜‰

  • Halloween was one of the earlier DLCs I got so I had STBFL unlocked before I had a lot of the standard meta and slowdown perks like Pop etc. So I started running it as I didn't really have a lot of other amazing options.

It was only when I didn't have STBFL equipped anymore - because I ran other perks or because I didn't have it unlocked on a killer - that I realise how good of a perk it is. πŸ˜‚

Yes it requires a certain playstyle/gameplan and I also think it's not really a good perk for beginners. However, I find that the value seems more obvious on the killer side than from the survivor POV. I would argue that survivor mains who claim they never saw the value may occasionally also not have noticed it.

  • Yeah noticed it when I had someone repeatedly booning that the other day (I was the killer). Was in the he middle of a three gen as well. πŸ˜‚ I did thank myself for not bringing hex perks though.

Yeah but the world consists of more than first world countries. And even in those it really wasn’t like this always

And to add to that drag queens are literally being attacked in "first world countries".

And in our very own community. Remember Elix was swatted not too long ago?

Being LGBTQ+ is not a choice, being a crossdresser is.

I can wake up tomorrow and decide to put on a dress, I can't wake up tomorrow and decide to not be trans or bi.

Clothes are (to some extent) a choice, yes. Although one could still argue that you can't really choose your taste... but I think we can all agree that fashion is also self expression, manifestation of personality and even art anyway. And I don't see, how this contradicts anything said on here. I'm a woman and sometimes I dress like Meg or Kate and sometimes I dress more like Jane and I can pick from those characters (or anyone else). So I would love to see more options represented.

Also YES to Rocky Horror Chapter. That would be the best license ever. 😍

  • It's tricky. I play solo survivor a lot and I'm sympathetic to the situation.

For a while I would try to balance it by just going easy on them and giving them a head start. I would just walk around and do "unnecessary objectives" - breaking walls, pallets I had initially left up, kicking gens without pop to waste some time but get some points. Usually this gives time for the survivors to reset and work on some gens to level the playing field. Afterwards I would tend to play chill, play for the chase, hook everyone twice and have fun rather than sweating for kills. This is what I would love to see when I'm survivor.

Cue survivors going "ez baby killer n00b, you couldn't even get killz except for DC, we thrashed you 3v1, yadayada...". And there is nothing you can say or do to convince them otherwise. πŸ™„

So I kind of go on a case by case basis now - sometimes I will just kill 2 of the remaining and let the last one get hatch and write something nice in end-game-chat ("Shame about the early DC, you held your own very well, GL next time")

  • @dugman said:

I’m surprised there are people who apparently hate playing against Trickster but don’t seem to have a problem with other ranged killers, especially since he’s historically apparently got one of the worst kill rates in the game.

I mentioned Trickster and for me this isn't about strength but about the playstyle that I tend to see on these killers. Trickster is a decent camper and I'm - what I can only assume - a very low MMR survivor, so that's what most Tricksters I face do.

  • Good question! I don't really hate going against anyone per se but some killers just promote really unfun playstyles, especially in the MMR hell that my survivor is in. So for me it will be

    Bubba, Trickster, Twins

Unfortunately, all of these are excellent campers and bad/new players tend to use that mechanic.

Honourable mention goes to the Hag. I love her concept and she has one of the few true jumpscares left in the game for me. I would love to go against a hag that plays more similar to my own playstyle on her (which is more aggressive) but most hags I face are very inexperienced and just drop 6 traps around a hook.

  • I really don't think your feelings are invalid, let alone silly! Playing killer is such a stressful role because you constantly have to think about your macro and your micro game at the same time. You're the prime decision maker of the game as you have a lot influence on who to chase where and when, how to use your power and which gens to protect or even sacrifice (almost like in a game of chess).

One thing that helps me is to come up with "mini games" or specific challenges, such as getting to 5 stacks of pentimento or "snipes-only" huntress, where I'd find some high ground and just snipe from there. The latter has landed me some hilarious interactions with survivors as well, once they realise what you're doing, most of them are more than happy to play that minigame with you. πŸ˜‚

Yeah, I know why people don't enjoy playing her (or against her), but I rather enjoy both. She was my first main, and I just love her versatile she is.

The only reason I sometimes don't enjoy playing against her is because other Hags love to put traps around the hook, and survivors seldom know how to counter it. If people know what they are doing, I enjoy facing her - it's so different.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2964811#Comment_2964811

Nurse grew on me, but I have to avoid playing her too much - as it feels like she makes me worse on other killers.

Twins...yeah, I don't mind playing them, but they are so clunky.

Huntress...I enjoy playing, but she's so crazily overplayed that it definitely puts me off.

Spirit is another killer that really grew on me the better I got with her. So much of what I hoped Onryo would be is already a Spirit thing.

I could have written the part about hag myself! She was the first killer I really tried to learn and I love strategy (trapper as well). Like you, I hate the rare occasion on which I go against a hag though. Most hags just play so unfun and don't tap her potential at all. I would even argue that proxicamping hooks isn't the most efficient way of playing her but it seems to work against my solo teammates every single time so it probably is... πŸ™„ I do suspect that i play killer at higher MMR than survivor though and I'm sure that feeds into my experience.

To answer the question, I don't particularly care for playing Bubba or Freddy. Just never really feel like playing them. Just trying to get the steam achievement for Bubba now and then I'll probably let him collect dust in a corner. πŸ˜‰

  • I'm not saying that Sadako doesn't deserve to be a buffed a bit - my hope would be for condemned to get a rework. But as it is, Sadako is a Jack of all trades but Master of None. She has different tools at her disposal that are all OK - another killer that I feel about in a similar way is Demo.

I quite honestly don't think these Jack of all trades types are awful against average survivors - I know there are people who insinuate they only play SWAT teams but I'm inclined to disagree. Not saying I never struggle as killer but there are also a lot of very average survivors playing this game! I do understand that this game can be very frustrating and feel imbalanced and it can feel more rewarding to go with a killer that masters one or several of their strengths. Personally, I believe/hope that if solo queue was buffed a bit then it would be possible for below-meta-killers across the board to be buffed too. As it stands, however, you can't really do this

I'm a Felix main and I have COH sometimes and have been I'm matches with other Michaela players who haven't brought boons. Seems a bit illogical to do this imo.

Hello there! I tend to run Shadowstep + COH + Mettle of Man + a random exhaustion perk on Felix. πŸ˜‚So yeah, you really can't tell and therefore I never assume a character has their own perks.

However, although I have no bias against specific survivors and I actually like Michaela - I sometimes play her as well - I have to say that for some reason do not tend to get either left to die or even sandbagged by other characters as much as I do by Michaelas, who then proceed to teabag at the exit if they make it that far. I can never even tell if this is intentional or if they're really just that clueless, but it might even be the latter. For some reason it does feel like a lot of new players gravitate towards Michaela - and COH or Clairvoyance may also be perks that are quite appealing to newcomers to the game.

  • Thank you! There seems to be so much negativity on this forum and when I opened the thread and saw someone was saying they somehow "beautified" Haddie I was a bit worried. Remember, someone did this to Aloy a while back and was actually dead serious about it... πŸ™„ But this took a good turn and made me laugh. πŸ˜‚

Also Myers looks like a real girl's selfie with a high contrast snapchat filter. She reminds me of someone as well but I can't figure out who...

  • Things were actually a little better right after the update but I've genuinely been wondering if something was tweaked in the background?

As survivor I have been paired with literal newbies on my time. Really don't mean this in a bad way but the gap between someone with 50 and with 950 hours is just too big and I'm not Noob3 - I can't run the killer for 20 minutes or so.

I'd argue I'm a better killer than survivor and I face competent squads most of the time, with the very occasional outlier (in both directions, soo newbies or GodSquad). It's not really my preferred playstyle - I prefer going for 8 to 12 hooks and this has simply seemed impossible for me since the update. However, I guess the kill/escape averages work out as 2/2 for me, even when I have significantly more end game kills where survivors were just left by their team leaving without even trying. πŸ™„

I legitimately cannot see them removing it, why? You can still prestige up to 3, but you can go beyond that so it's likely still the same, Tier 1 on everyone + a piece of bloody clothing.

I really hope you are right! I don't always trust things - especially as it wasn't mention and a lot of other details were specifically mentioned...

The legitimate reason I could see is that it would give old players something unique in addition to the reward, which might not be something that appeals to everyone. And it would not exactly be a new cosmetic or the reward so I don't see it as excluded in what Mandy said either.

The other question I hope we will have answered on time is whether the reward still warrants going for prestige now. I have all my characters at 50 and many of them I haven't levelled since hitting 50. That means I'm still not too heavily invested perk-wise. I reckon I could prestige a good chunk still if I wanted to but it would be good to know if it's worth it, especially as many of them still have good add ons/items/cake offerings that I would be destroying. My original strat was to use them up before I prestige, of course.

  • @RussellMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2958357#Comment_2958357

So does this mean no more blood-covered cosmetics? What will happen to them and the ones we currently have?

I would love to know more about this as well please - and it only feels fair. Personally, I'be currently got a ton of bloodpoints saved up and characters to prestige but I was using the strategy of using up all good add ons/items/offerings before doing so.

If the bloody cosmetics will stay for those that have them but can't be obtained anymore that is actually a form of legacy and I would prestige as much as I can. If the bloody cosmetics are still going to be obtained through prestige 1-3 then I would much rather used my saved bloodpoints to max out perks on my P1 characters.

I really hope that players like me that have been strategic about prestige don't get punished here. πŸ˜”

  • Thanks, this would only confirm my own experiences - that a form of rank/grad-based matchmaking is inherently more fun when you are at a rank where you somewhat "belong". My survivor experience in lower ranks being the outlier as in I don't "belong" there, I just played a lot less survivor this month due to random circumstances.

Having said that. I'm also aware that grade-based matches are very random - on the 12th I didn't have much time and the three killer matches I played were all super sweaty/survivors much, much better than I and I thought it might be tighter match-making on that day but turns out I was just a bit unlucky. But I could live with that, the 12th was actually not the worst day for me, the first three days of the tests were the worst ones. Unfortunately, they said the last two days didn't go well and will be ignored and the actual system will be more like the days that were the worst for me. I'm quite sad/disappointed but also surprised that apparently my experience was so different from everyone else's.

  • @latigresa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2911865#Comment_2911865

People say this often but the system doesn't evaluate skill. It simply measures survival. It should be Survival based matchmaking.

Oh, yes, you are absolutely right. However, that not what BHVR are calling it and as long as it's supposed to be skill-based, the escape factor is the major flaw in the system. That's what I was trying to illustrate. I also don't feel like I'm alone in being a "semi-skilled survivor" (not saying I'm a god looper) stuck in MMR hell. I seem to see quite a few comments like this and I remember ScottJund even made a video on this and it really reflected my experiences so well.

Ironically, the current system does work better for me on the killer-side and I am going to assume my killer MMR is significantly higher than my survivor MMR, whilst try to go for 12 hooks/11 hooks+hatch (ideal-case scenario). I'm better on some killers but I seemed to average two kills across the board when I recorded it for a while in the beginning of this year.

  • I don't feel the conclusion really touches on the core of the problem.

As survivor in particular, the current system thinks I'm very low-skilled as I don't play selfish. I have spent quite a bit of time stuck in low-MMR-hell, because I die a lot with my playstyle - I take chases, I try to save in EGC, try to cleanse NOED and save the last person, even if everyone else has left etc. Sometimes it pays off but I also die often, especially so as I get paired with people that do not know to bodyblock when rescued with BT near an open exit gate. 😭 I also find that I have been dying on first hook more than I used to before the skill-based system was introduced as I'm basically stuck in a loop where I'm the only one running the killer but eventually they will catch up with me, my teammates don't pop gens and are too scared to come and rescue. So my MMR goes down.

Now the system will supposedly be tighter, so I will be further down that spiral and I don't see how this conclusion will improve the experience for people that play altruistic in solo queue and hence die/MMR goes down.

  • What Grades were you on April 12th - out of curiosity?

I just want to add to this, as my best day for matchmaking was actually the 11th of April (so grad-based matchmaking) as well and I played before skill-based match-making (and was actually OK with the old system, I never really had any issues or complaints).

I find it very interesting as I was an Iridescent IV killer both days that they reverted to Grad-based matchmaking. April 11th was my best day of the whole tests - very varied matches and survivors that brought a range of perks, even had a few people with Balanced Landing, Babysitter, Souldguard etc (none of these are bad btw, just not the perks I will usually see). April 12th was an utter sweatfest with (on average) 2 COH, 2, BT and 3-4 DH per match. My grade did not change at all and that shows it's super random with the grades and really luck-based in the higher grades. In my experience this was also the case in the past and to be completely honest with you: That was OK with me. I liked being able to go into a match not knowing what would happen. πŸ˜„

Having said that, both days were miserable for me as survivor, got matches with extremely new players (both killers and teammates) and it makes sense as I didn't play survivor much that month so I was still in Ash/Bronze. This should not be happening, I don't really feel like it was fun for anyone involved as the disparity in skill was quite obvious. However, this was also the case in the old matchmaking system. You were not reset all the way on the 13th but only by one bracket and I was fine as long as I made sure I would dip below what was then called yellow ranks (now: Silver).

Absolutely agree on the grind... I am 900 hours (!) in and still working on the grind. I currently have 3 survivors and 1 killer left to purchase and level to 50 (let's not even think about prestige & maxing out perks!) 😲

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/318878/you-should-not-lose-any-pips-if-you-get-facecamped-to-death

When downing all Survivors who are overly confident within 6 or 7 minutes of the game starting and you 1 hook them...you also lose a pip.... I got them all... I played the role and I won.. Quite efficiently I might add... Why TF did I DE-PIP????

Actually, 6 or 7 minutes into a game is quite a long time, especially in the current meta, which sees matches being over a lot quicker than it may have been the case when we saw more hit & run playstyles.

Regardless of time, this is most certainly not the same situation. As killer it is absolutely in your hands, especially if you are dominating early on in a game. Nobody is forcing you to four-man-slug and one-hook everyone. You actually have to go out of your way to do so. If this happens and I end up with a group clearly below my skill level or overly altruistic survivors I tend to slug 2-3 and let the others go for the save.

I'm ok with pips being hard to get in Iridescent too, it's just the lower ranks where most of the facecamps happen, that's where it'd be nicer to deal only with the facecamp and no depip.

Ranks (Grades) are not used for the matchmaking so it should literally make no difference. I'm usually a Silver/Gold survivor (I play more killer) but I don't escape often due to playing quite altruistic and also taking chases whenever I can so I am assuming that under an escape/kill-based MMR I'm super low MMR. So are the facecampers. This has nothing to do with with my grade though. I get killers from all colours of the rainbow. ;-)

I absolutely agree with you. I played the same as you did to get to Iridescent 1. It was a struggle, probably more compared than to be selfish and escape every single time. Another point I'd like to make is, in my opinion, the Survival medal is too black and white. You either get an iridescent medal if you escape without being downed, gold if you got downed once, silver if you die after being alive in the trial for more than half the trial duration, and bronze/none if you die in less than half of the duration of the trial. To me, that seems a bit unfair. You could be doing a lot of things better than you team but you die and then you may not get a pip. IMO it could be an idea to make the survival time control more of the medal's quality. Say if you survive 3/4 of the trial and then you die, maybe get a gold instead of the silver. Writing this, I realize it may be unfair to killers, but that is why it's just an idea to think about, not that it should be that way.

You're not wrong and I don't feel it would be unfair to killers as the survivor pipping system actually doesn't need to take away from the killer. In fact, both parties can have a good match - I will actually argue that if the match was decently long and the killer got 8-9 hooks, both parties played well.

However, I'm actually OK with pipping in iridescent ranks being hard - it should be difficult to get +1/+2 to some extent. And you don't have to escape to pip. Actually, as long as the killer tries to play nicely for 8-12 hooks without tunnelling, you will probably pip. The issue is that's it's not really in your hands and I think that would be balanced by black/safety pipping. That does not mean, I would not be open to survival being adjusted a little, as most of us know that escapes don't equal skill... ;-)

  • From my experience I'm actually someone that defends this game a lot towards other people and someone who can find fun in the small things - I tend to set myself sub-challenges such as getting better at Demo shred, enabling Mettle of Man, things like that.

Nonetheless, this is one I have to agree with, being facecamped and depipping is my absolute pet peeve. Especially when a while back I was trying to reach Iri I as survivor for the first time (for myself, that my goal that month and for the bloodpoints). Pipping in iridescent ranks is not easy in itself as you need to really well while your team does not actually do so well - basically you need to be everywhere: doing gens, rescuing and doing/booning totems, while also escaping a couple chases, so the game needs to be long. If the other survivors are very you might not pip. I enjoyed that challenge. The biggest problem that made nigh impossible for me were the random disconnects from the server side (definitely not my internet, it wasn't always me that got chucked from the game either but it was an issue) and the facecamping.

Ok, if the solution to reliably pipping is running Decisive, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable and Deliverance whilst making sure I am not the first one to be hooked and that I get the first unhook of the game there are two issues with that:

    1) This might not be the best strategy macro game wise. I had to play very selfish to reach Grade I, if I'm honest. I'm on a gen, the killer has Ruin and a teammate is in a better position to rescue? Doesn't matter - I'll go. In fact it kind of benefits me as the gen will regress and as I go back to it I will have to do more of it, getting me more lightbringer.

    2) I have nearly 900 hours in this game and there no single survivor that I actually have that combination of four perks unlocked on... I play all killers aside from Spirit as well, so I have to be selective about levelling. The grind is massive. Ironically, that is the one reason I really want to pip, the bloodpoint reward might help getting more of those perks.

  • The issue with this achievement is that it's absolute nonsense to boon hexes for two reasons.

First, it takes longer and you are at risk, as either its a hex that a killer is trying to protect or it's Haunted Grounds. It also takes longer than cleansing when you would normally try to remove a hex like Devour asap.

Moreover, the killer knows where the totem is, they've seen the aura when it was a hex, so normally the boon will be snuffed in no time.

I boon Huntress Lullaby for the achievement as that one seems less urgent than Ruin or Devour but it's also rare. I'm at like 4/20 or something like that.
