It is certainly getting m ore challenging. I think better or worse is too subjective in this case. There is no way to fix people using group tactics outside the game via in person or the microphone, other than hope that people adhere to honor. :) So we adapt. Me, I mori more. I tunnel more. I honey-pot or camp. I am specific about who I delete , when and why. They complain about it. I don't complain about them. It is a reality. We all play to win.
Honestly yes, once Ruin was gone I don't shy away from mori/tunnel etc.
IDGAF what lame survivors cry about.

Pretty common in mid-rank play now too. Because of the rise in commonality of survivor friends, a calculation has been made that finishing the generations lighting fast is the best route, i.e. provides the most wins in a reliable way. Totems are considered secondary, and only taken if you happen to spawn on them or get lucky. Survivor friends are the new reality and there is no fix for it (if it is even a problem). So we should all expect more perks and add-ons to re-balance, and I don't expect Noed to go anywhere. I expect to offset the speed of the Generators that people will Mori more often and early simply to slow things down. I know that works for me. If you carry a tool chest into my game, you put a big target on your back.
I mean they nerfed Hex: Ruin which was literally the only reliable (that's proper use of reliable, take note certain somebody) slowdown perk for killers.
It's getting worse for Killers and that's a fact, more nerfs and "reworks".

The "problem" is that I still have fun playing the game as killer, sometimes I meet nice people but most of the time are toxic survivors with no reason. People saying that I was tunneling when I wasn't because I don't have fun doing it, or simply idiots writing random insults (doesn't matter if I won or lost or how many people I killed). I won't spend any money because I don't want to.
This is very, very common experienced by literally every Killer player. It gets only worse and not better especially since the devs keep nerfing Killers.
Take a look at this topic I made about how entitled and e-bullies those survivors are: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1509383#Comment_1509383
But the nutshell (tl;dr) is: You can camp, mori, tunnel, use all add ons (iri head etc.) and play however you want. Don't care for survivors and them calling you a tunneler or BS rules they made up when they literally don't hold back and abuse everything, and even more! They use communication (SWF) which is basically cheating. So don't mind them, you are not a toxic or bad player for using anything they are just e-bullies that don't care about your enjoy-ability.
This is why I tell you: Decide now if this game is worth the time and/or money. It still is going worse way.

Thank you, I appreciate it.
Keep your money, and time (if you don't have plenty). Because even with best killers/perks, it ain't changing much.
Game is survivor-sided and they almost always have the upper hand the control the flow of the game.
-
Nurse is absolute trash. No matter how many hours you pour "mastering" her, she is inherently bad after the nerf.
And I am sick of everyone's theoretical "Nurse is best killer, hurr durr!" while never touching her themselves.

@Moundshroud said:
Noed should slow down Gens. There was a time when people spent the time clearing those four totems. Every second searching for and clearing a totem is a second not hurtling the Generators toward being complete. I literally had two different Generators (last night) pop in the first two minutes of the game. They got salty with me because when they powered the gates, I proceeded to slug down three of them. One got out. If you can get all the Generators done THAT darn fast, you can also dedicate the time to taking out some totems. I don't want to hear any lame excuses. You can choose to take out Totems or not.
I play both sides. I have perspective. Do you know how many times I've played against, or been part of, a group of Survivors who were sitting in the SAME room as each other in the real world? Let's not mince words, it happens a lot. It happens more and more every day. They have a 5th Perk, a type of Information Gathering tool which is off the charts. Even when they aren't in the same room, there are those in constant communication with each other via microphone. Most Killers just shrug and go, oh.... survivor friends.... going to be tough match. So you will have to forgive us if we don't have much sympathy when you complain about our perks.
2-3 gens done within first 3 minutes is very, very common in high rank gameplay.
Makes it way too anxious and stressful, gen times are total wack especially ever since Ruin was gone.

I’ve been running self care lately as well. I’ve noticed a new breed of player that either doesn’t understand that you are asking for a heal or doesn’t want to waste their gen time on a heal. I do want to be in control of my health states so yeah I run self care. Tried IS but I find I can spend twice as long looking for a totem as I would just doing self care. Hawkins in particular is awful for finding totems. (Well it’s awful in every way I can think of except aesthetics).
This is not what my topic is about. Please stay in-topic.
-
Tell that to people who think "most survivors are potatoes", "SWF does not exist" and game is killer-favored.
People don't even play both sides at high rank and judge.

14 seconds to cleanse. Can prep before needed. At shack if you've seen it whilst being chased and there's a gen there you go to shack get the totem get in a locker, about 26 seconds, healed, get on a gen, ez.
Google: situational, variables.
Have a good day, done with you.

I'm not sure how SWF relates to this. They wouldn't bother using Self Care in an Swf.
Your example is purely situational assuming survivors are potatoes. In reality, most are not if you are high rank.
There.

14 + 8 = 22
22<32.
Not sure where that 14 came from. But okay.
Time to find totem is a variable and not a constant.

People run Self Care because you can't rely on teammates to heal you. You either don't encounter them, or the won't heal you sometimes. Self Care is used by those who don't want to rely on their team. It's also used by those who are terrified to be injured.
And I have no idea what you mean by afraid to touch killer. If you mean me being afraid to play killer I do play killer. Otherwise I have no idea what you are trying to say.
That's solo queue though.
With SWF? Like I said, they should make killers opt out SWF and most of the BS is gone.

Well inner strength is balanced since you can virtually heal 5 times (if the user destroys and uses each token/totem).
Self care have unlimited use.
Common sense explained.
Not to mention, time to take and actually cleanse a totem beats 32 seconds.

You're either bait or have 0 general understanding of the game.
If you're a good killer you'd probably down and hook someone in 40 seconds. So instead of having someone complete half a gen you have someone heal up 1 health state which you can instantly take away from them, you can't instantly take away half of a gen.
Bla bla bla bla...
We are talking about Self Care as a perk.
Down and hook someone in 40 seconds, true story. Maybe if you never touch killer and you play against potatoes. Stream some high level gameplay of you finding and downing someone in 40 seconds please.

In theory self care is good. In practice? Nope. I sincerely hope you play a solo queue survivor game with 3 self-care claudettes. You will see my point and understand what I mean.
The problem is when you play killer, you get a lot of SWF at high ranks.
Solo queue low level game-play is different game altogether.
I sincerely hope you play high level killer.

It's a waste time even if it neglects the first hit, good survivor's prioritize gens over healing which is why most good survivor's hate baby clauddtes cause they self care in the corner for 22 hours
Can we please just discuss without you calling me a survivor main?
Already went through "waste of time" point since the time is still on the survivors side.
I am saying play killer sometimes to get a better perspective of the game. Then you can tell if it is balanced or not, and what nerfs/buffs should be.
I play both sides.

If they are dumb enough to be running around the nap looking for a heal sure. Most are smart enough to do something and get healed when they happen to find another survivor.
So if most are smart, and it takes less time.. Why run SC?
I don't understand survivors.
Seriously, don't be so afraid to touch killer sometimes.
-
@Izo_Quartz said:
I think alongisde what it already does, it should buff the speed that other survivors heal you by 33%. This way it would be more viable without the necessity of carrying an item or another perk to combo it.
I think if you never touch killer, don't talk about balance and nerfs/buffs.
Play both sides (almost)equally then you can talk.
-
MMR is separated for each killer. If you did not play a killer in long time, you need 10 games.
Not hard to grasp.

Getting hit isn't messing up, it's the outcome of a chase, and if you are hitting survivors and letting them Self Care then I want your damned survivors. Mine never waste that much time unless they are on my team.
And no, that's still not a "second chance perk". Survivors aren't supposed to stay injured throughout the whole match. Second chance perks are "push a button to undo a mistake", not "sandbag your team for 32 seconds to heal yourself".
...................?
Losing a chase, a crucial part of the game, is not messing up? By that definition, what is messing up? And what are second chance perks (if any).
The logic.

@MrLimonka said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1509117#Comment_1509117
Idk if you are trolling or not. For real. Self care is a perk that literally benefits killers, the survivors who use it heal themselves in the corner of the map for 32 seconds and waste a lot of time when they could do half a gen instead. And then injuring them again is not big rocket science, so they waste even more time. Get it? Also, items are definietly not one time use. Bring a purple medkit with addons and you can heal yourself several times at a higher speed.
How does survivors heal up favor the killer?! Because 32 seconds? Already went through and I won't repeat again (read before posting, not that hard) on why that is silly point.
-
@Respectfulnancymain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1509128#Comment_1509128
Im not insulting you at all tho? im just asking you why you think selfcare is op
Imo self care is a waste of time as it takes 32 seconds to get healed which is way to much since you could do half a gen in 32 seconds
It neglects getting hit. Survivors don't even care about first hit as noted by them swarming at you to body block (you don't even touch killer I guess, you wouldn't know).
So getting first hit is nothing. Regardless of that, in an actual chase it takes waaay more than 32 second to hit a survivor who is not a total potato. So the times are against the killer, and yes it's a second chance perk as explained.

Being able to admit one is bad at a video game is not bullying. Pretending everyone is good at this game and perpetuating a fantasy is harmful. I’m sorry others won’t allow you to escape reality and that it hurts your feelings. Perhaps you should take a moment to fortify yourself and ask yourself if you actually think you’re good at this game.
How in the world did people like yourself ever survive in the real world? Have your parents spent their entire lives coddling you and telling you that youre perfect and can’t do anything bad or wrong? Is that what’s happened here?
You’re currently bad a video game. So what? Grow up. Accept reality. Work on it. And get better. Why is that so upsetting to you?
You are calling other players bad for using a perk, while haven't said anything against 1000 survivors.
You did not even play with me or see me play, but apparently I am "Bad" because I think killers should use NOED and everything they want, and you can't see how dumb that is?
Did not read rest of your gibberish, I don't tolerate e-bullies who call other people "bad".

LOL 30 seconds to heal a teammate. What RIVETING gameplay. Thank god you're not a dev.
Oh yes, because balanced gameplay is not "riveting".
Proves more and more my point, people like you just want free easy escapes and to cry on any killer who doesn't give them a free win.
If anything it makes it more "riveting" because it gives taking a hit an actual sense of danger, unlike what we see survivors swarming while you hook someone because they know a hit is nothing, especially with the other second chance perks.

Depending on your killer? Less than 32 seconds.
As Freddy, Pyramid Head, and as I've discovered Bubba they can actually end very very quickly. Even as Wraith.
Depending on your survivor. You go against the usual potato survivor I saw you play against sure 32 seconds. Even I can hold you up to 60 seconds until you hit me, and I don't even play survivor much.
As a matter of fact I am sure if I go rewatch, it took you more than 32 seconds easily. Either your calculations are wrong or it's your survivor-main brain at it again.

Nope, does not indicate skill at all. It's kinda primitive thinking to think otherwise lol.

By that logic all healing should be removed from the game. Delete all healing perks and items because those are second chances. It doesn't matter that they take time. Being allowed to heal is clearly unfair.
Items are well, items, they should give you an advantage but they are one time use unlike SC which is infinite (damn I had to explain this).
Healing by other team mate, nothing wrong with it. Two survivor's time is being wasted, wish it was ~30 seconds though.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1508991#Comment_1508991
A second chance perk is a perk that allows survivors to fix instantly a mistake that they made, giving them a second chance in a given situation. The last time I looked, SC just let's them heal themselves over the course of 32 seconds, instead of the standard 16 from being healed by a teammate. It is incomparable to DS, UB, Adrenaline, Deliverence, BT, DH, etc. And it is an extremely weak perk, only made even reasonably okay by SC/Botany combo.
Or, to put it a other way, if you have someone repeatedly running at you to bodyblock for a teammate, just hit them and don't even bother chasing them, because they're going to go waste more than half a minute healing. That's better than PGTW. And that is genuinely the most "second-chance" that SC can get.
They get hit (mess up), they self care (erase the mistake).
Not second chance? Sure.

Did I say anywhere it’s a problem? Or did you just have that response copied into your clipboard? I said it’s a perk bad killers choose. Clearly it is. I’m not sure why this is even debated. There are bad killers in this game looking to get better. The difference between them and you is that you can’t admit you’re bad and thus will never improve.
Your logic is dumb this is the problem. Using a perk does not indicate player skill at all.
It's very ridiculous to say the least.

I rejoice when I see self-care because it means they're not on generators.

I don’t think it’s shameful to admin you’re bad at this game... you want people to lick your boot and pretend you’re good? NOED IS a perk for bad killers and the irony is that using it makes it so you won’t get better nearly as well as someone who doesn’t use it.
I normally only play killer. If I’m expecting the survivors to do all the gens while I haven’t killed anyone yet it means I need more practice with that killer. And giving up an entire perk slot to something that really only works on purple and green ranks is a bit silly.
You using NOED doesn’t make you bad. You’re bad so you use NOED. it’s that simple. Why is it shameful to admit you’re bad?
I don't even understand this poor effort troll post, sorry. Bunch of poorly written gibberish.
Go play with 1000 survivor noob perks and bully killers for NOED.

As for the OP. No, Botany is in a really good spot. It makes it where you can get two full heals from a yellow med kit with no addons. And shaves several seconds off your heal. It's probably one of the best balanced perks in the game.

I will say I did hear killer mains also say Hatch is Killer Favored BUT they only said that because killer takes statues over the hatch. They explained and showed for example if the killer closes hatch and sits right on it the survivor can't do anything even with a key to open it. Also to the whole when the third survivor dies the timer should start forcing the last survivor to open a gate. How likely is it that survivor will actually have enough time to open the gate before the killer gets to them?
I mean on most maps the gates are so close together. I do not feel the hatch is a way out for bad players. I mean I have played survivor and had games where I do no joke 4 out of 5 gens by myself and break 3 totems and rescue two teammates only for them to spend the game hiding and then get killed. At that point what more could I do?
I have given a survivor the hatch many times as killer as well because I seen how hard they were trying but their solo que team was dragging them down. I am not saying you are wrong and I am right just pointing out why the hatch is not always a bad thing and honestly if the players are that bad and 9 times out of 10 then the last survivor wont even look for the hatch and hide in a locker and I laugh as I either spectate or look for the survivor as the killer.
Yes, priority to killer closing the hatch over anything else (as it should be). But Hatch, by nature, is a survivor-favored mechanism since it gives them a free out-of-jail for playing poorly (as if they don't already have billion second chances).
But that's another topic, sorry I digress.

If you have criticisms against a specific perk based on it's ability, that's one thing. But calling all players who use it bad because they "rely" on it is just ridiculous.
I sometimes run an endgame build on my DeathSlinger that involves BW and NOED. Do I rely on the perk? Of course. But I setup my entire build for the endgame.
Thank you.
To him, all survivors can use everything, all is fine because they don't "rely" on it.

The thing you don't realize and I mentioned before, I don't care what or who you are. Your idea of "survivors' perks are ok because they don't 'RELY' on them while killer can't use noed because he 'RELIES' on it" is purely survivor-main mindset, this is why I called you a survivor main.

Exact same experience as me. Killer queue times are much longer for me now. Survivor queue times are almost instant but the matches are not balanced.
Still haven't played Killer yet, but Survivor queue are almost instant and matches seems balanced.
Can you explain why are they not balanced? What is your definition of "balanced"? All four survivors should be equally good?
