  • Sometimes I'll run Appraisal + Plunderers + Ace in the hole, meaning I'm not able to run meta perks such as DS, BT, Unbreakable.

Once keys are nerfed, I think this combo of perks will be fine. To make use of them we have to waste A LOT of time running around opening chests and rummaging through them.

I just don't see the point in further nerfing a niche perk that isn't even meta.

  • Not sure, but if I had to guess it'd be to do with trying to avoid exhausting players with rift after rift after rift without any breaks in-between. I'm sure many players would lose motivation to complete them if so. They already take up a silly amount of time as they are.

  • Some survivors might feel like they have more of a chance trying to power through gens without looking throughout the map for Ruin. For all they know, you might well be using Undying. And that could lead to having to waste a huge amount of time.

I certainly assume someone is running Undying + Ruin rather than just Ruin nowadays.

  • There are a lot of potatoes in this game unfortunately and the current match making system only makes things worse. I'm coping with solo queue by running around with my farmer hat on.

I've consistently had survivors running across the map to heal in a corner, running far away after missing a skillcheck and crouching around the map, shuddering at the sound of the distant terror radius. MMR can't come soon enough.

I'm not asking for convincing to play the game. I'm frustrated with the legitimate lack of actual fun in the matches that I am getting. I cannot get into a match where I'm happy with it. Mostly it's team mates that would rather be doing anything other than what needs to be done, or doing things in the Red ranks that someone in that experience of play time SHOULDN'T be doing.

It's just not fun and it's frustrating because I want to play.

I believe MMR, the new match making system will be released soon(ish), so this in theory should match you with and against players of a similar skill. Really hoping for a functioning MMR system this time!

  • That's sad. I probably would have done the same thing as you.

  • "I'M GOING TO TUNNEL AND FACECAMP WITH BUBBA"

This is exactly why perks like DS and Borrowed Time exist.

  • Was a killer main for a long time, but couldn't put up with anymore of it. Started maining survivor and haven't looked back since.

  • YouTube/Twitch/Netflix/Forum/Reddit

  • I really hope not. My teammates are either average or bad. Bad as in having to hide in a corner before allowing a double heal.

Well actually maybe I'm a bit harsh, but I definitely still have a lot of inexperienced players playing with me. Including killers.

  • At the moment WGLF. Really like its 100% healing speed for dying survivors and I feel bad not using it knowing how much BP I'm missing out on.

Also helps me feel better about not playing so well and dying because I'm probably getting lots of points regardless. If I unhook a survivor endgame instead of escaping and I die, ah well I missed out on 5k escape points. But I'll probably gain 2 tokens, so earn more BP anyway.

Since no one answered and dodge the question, i suppose this is a glitch to avoid skillcheck so glad it will disappear. For OP, there is many ways to get around it (i proposed 2 ez myself), for the other lazy afk players, im sad for you that you have to use this...if holding a key is too hard for you then learn to loop and take care of the killer while the other less lazy can hold M1 for you....

The bug's only benefit is that you no longer need to hold m1 on interactions like gens, for 80 seconds. Which is inconvenient for many and frustrating and difficult for those with conditions such as Parkinson's. A simple toggle option would go a long way.

  • Not sure how experienced you are so I'll mention this: There's a perk called We're Gonna Live Forever (David's teachable) which gives you BP in the same way BBQAC does. It can be awkward to get the tokens, but yeah.

I don't agree with your idea for the same reasons others have stated - it'd encourage survivors to simply leave with less incentive to go back and save another survivor. Also if this was implemented for survivors, it should be implemented for killers too for 4king. But that would also have its own affects such as much more slugging for the 4k to avoid hatch escapes.

  • Appraisal + Plunderers + Ace in the Hole is probably my favourite non-meta build. Love getting useful items from chests and seemingly much more often than not I find at least one purple/skeleton key. I like to hide keys I find as a kind of backup plan if things go bad.

  • Well I'll always have the biggest must have perk: Dead Hard (unless it gets nerfed). But lately I've been experimenting with no DS and so far it's been pretty good. But my friend uses DS so there's always a guaranteed obsession, which might be why my games have been fine without it.

Mind you, I'm starting to really like Iron Will again. Looks like it'll be Iron Will + DH as the 2 must perks and other 2 can be anything.

  • Add indicators like the current hook icon on survivor portrait. So add more of these. E.g. if a survivor is on a gen/totem, put a gen/totem icon near their portrait. If a survivor is being chased, show this. (You can only currently tell if the survivor being chased is the obsession).

Add kindred to basekit, maybe nerf it slightly to remove killer aura. Solo survivors can now coordinate saves much better.

  • I'm worried but also excited. I want a challenging killer and good survivors. Hopefully it WORKS this time though.

  • I believe it was originally intended to be a one time use perk. However even in the PTB it was bugged and had infinite uses. So I they've buffed it from PTB so it's officially no longer a one time use and therefore no longer 'bugged', to answer your question.

  • Well I wouldn't be surprised if this game does die in 3 years. Not because I want it to, but because it will be 8 years old by then. I hope this game stays active for a long time... it's the most addicting game I've ever played despite all of its downfalls and disappointments.

I'm sure the Devs themselves never expected the game would be successful enough to last even a few years. But look at it now... it's thriving.

All the more reason for them to hurry up and get out. Stop holding me hostage and preventing me from starting a fresh match. I’m f they just repair and leave, maybe their next game is more “fun” with a killer that’ll tolerate trolling.

They won. I’m making it clear they won by giving up.

    GET OUT.

Can you elaborate on how they were "trolling" before you went AFK? Trolling and "toxic" are thrown all around the place nowadays, so I genuinely can't tell if the survivors you played against were simply looping you well or actually clicking or tbagging (which you haven't specifically mentioned).

There are 2 perspectives to consider here, though. You may think they're wasting your time... but you too are wasting their time. They queued up to play the game, not for an AFK killer. So whilst your trying to get to the next game... they're still trying to play the current game!

You're wasting their time but are also complaining about them wasting your time. It's hypocritical. But if you do elaborate on what you mean by "trolling" I might understand your perspective more clearly.

FPS really doesn't matter much, if you get above 30 the game runs fine. Though great skillchecks become pretty hard to time

    press-x-to-doubt-la-noire.jpg

FPS does matter, the difference between 30 and 60 is huge. If you have a high refresh rate monitor you'll even notice a big difference between 60 and 120 fps.

Trust me, once you experience the difference you wouldn't want to go back. I bought a 144hz monitor years ago and can't imagine going back to even 60hz. I capped my FPS to 120 and play DBD on low settings just for the FPS. Much more smooth and gives a competitive advantage. (Trust me I went from Master Guardian 2 to Legendary Eagle in CS:GO in no time after upgrading my monitor!)

  • In tier 1 you move slower and have a shorter lunge, although have a very short terror radius. In tier 3 you can lunge slightly further than tier 2, vault windows faster and instant down, although have a larger terror radius.

Good job! Seems like you're having fun.

  • ? You went AFK half way through the match and want to tell the rest of the players how to play the game?

Sounds like the survivors WERE playing the game, but playing well enough in chases to be not caught by you... which you describe as "frustrating". Ok, it might be frustrating... but judging from your post they were simply playing well in chases since you didn't mention them tbagging or the like. So you are the one that is in the wrong here, not them.

Of course they'll be bored if you decide to not play the game and AFK.

  • Simply play more games. You had one bad experience. If you have trouble finding survivors play a killer such as The Doctor. You could even play a stealthy killer such as Ghostface and find unaware survivors. Play the tutorial. Watch youtubers. Save up BP on survivor for perks on a killer.

It's still a wonder why it's not affected by Unnerving Presence and Enduring. Enduring reduces your stun duration is reduced, but not for DS, nope: DS is an exception! Unnerving Presence even says plainly: "Triggered Skill Checks' success zones are reduced by 40/50/60 %." Well, for every skillcheck in the game EXCEPT DS, because DS is an exception again! They basically nerfed the only perks that could counter it so that they don't counter it anymore, as if DS was too weak of a perk and nobody wanted to use it.

Did they nerf Unnerving Presence the same time as they nerfed Enduring? I was always under the impression Unnerving Presence continued to help against DS... but can't say I've ever been in a scenario to test this.

  • Past interactions with killers have enraged you.

For every 10 seconds the killer is within 12/16/20 meters of a hooked survivor gain a Token for a maximum of 3/4/5 Tokens. Press the Active Ability button whilst on the hook or while crouching to scream "CAMPER!!!" at the killer.

Each token adds an increasing degree of rage to your screams.

"You realize there's rules you need to follow, right?!" - Some survivor main.

  • Hillbilly. He was always my go to killer... he's the first killer I prestiged and got to P3 before prestiging any other killer in 2016. I found him very fun to play, powerful AND you can do neat tricks with him and bounce around around the place. Like this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI6dH85XxhE

I've maybe played him once since his nerf. Don't like his addons, don't like the 'AGHHHHH' when he uses the chainsaw. (I hate it).

To be fair, I haven't really given the new billy a chance. But I feel like all that needed to change was his charge addons... so kind of salty.

  • You take 3 unnecessary hits for 1 extra hit as well as having the killer see your aura for the rest of the game if you heal again.

It's much better to rush gens. The only time it might be somewhat good is in a team of SWF... BUT even then it'd be better just to rush gens.

If I want to take an extra hit, it's much better just to equip a Medkit with Styptic Agent. You can take the hit whenever you want and don't need to earn it - all it costs is the addon.

  • Yes, the best option is to just waste as much as the killers time as possible.

If everyone that is facecamped decides to suicide to get to the next game faster, you'd encourage more facecampers.

If every teammate hook dived and either trades or throws the game, you'd encourage more facecampers.

If you do what they want, they'll keep doing it. Stalling out for time discourages killers from facecamping. They might even get bored and leave if they see you're going to stick it out if you're lucky.

This is why If I ever play against a leatherface hard camping a basement, I won't go for the save or I won't attempt escape and stall for as long as possible. You either use the time to do gens and escape or you join the unlucky survivor in the basement by going for the save.

  • Yes, this is the norm. If there is no toxicity in chat then the likely hood of there being console players in your game is high - since they can't see or use chat.

The best thing to do is either A) Laugh at their comments whilst giving them no reply/attention or B) Ignore them completely and turn chat off.

If you haven't received any comments on your steam profile so far, be prepared for that too. I used to main killer from 2016-2018 and have over 90 pages of salt mostly from that time period... and I deleted a lot of them too. I keep them as a badge of honour, they're funny to me.

  • Go for a female survivor, I recommend Claudette. You have a good range of cosmetics to choose from and can immerse when you want.

I say go with a female survivor because you have a much better view of your surroundings, can hide more effectively and give the slight illusion of being slightly further away from a killer in a chase than male survivors despite having the same hitbox - all because the female survivors are all smaller (except perhaps Jane!).

  • The list grows ever longer. I don't like playing against Deathslinger, Spirit, Pyramid Head, The Twins or Hag.

Deathslinger is probably my least favourite, closely followed by Spirit. I just really dislike how his mere existence in a chase is a 'mindgame'. He can at any point without any warning 'quickscope' you, so you always have to be prepared for it... but that means zig zagging and playing around tiles really poorly. Which means he can get free hits as I said, just from existing.

  • The killer you were playing against was probably using the perk 'Stridor'. It allows the killer to still hear your moans when injured, although you're still quieter than you would be without Iron Will.

  • Looping. Feel like my looping has been lackluster lately... but I'll get better.

  • I used to have almost all killers p3 with all perks in 2018 and had Claud p3 max but since losing my progress (and then being compensated BP) I've never bothered to prestige any character again.

This is because I feared I wouldn't have enough BP to get back to where I was in terms of progress if I prestiged my characters again, so took the safe route of not doing so.

  • Well... I do use it every game, so I guess I am reliant on it.

It's just so good and opens up so many opportunities in a chase and acts as a backup if needed. I would play much more safe without it... which is one of the reasons I use it. That's boring.

  • Can't think off the top of my head whether I like any of the reworked maps over the old ones. I always liked playing on the original maps just the way they were (aesthetically, not balance wise - I would rather they just rebalanced instead of changed the graphics).

    • When I load into a lobby after 10 mins to see default clothed survivors.
    • When I see a secret offering.
    • When the killer has an extremely bad connection.
    • When I go to second stage whilst using kindred.
    • When Dead Hard doesn't work.
    • When I play against a Spirit.
  • When I press Shift + E and Dead Hard works.

Chaining loops and mind gaming killers with as little pallets as possible for a couple of gens. Makes me feel good.

When I find out I survived against a streamer! Love watching those games back.

  • Trapper, Myers, Plague and Demo.

  • Well, I'd probably main Legion if he still had double BP offerings on him. Definitely the most fun killer to play IMO. When I play killer I'm looking for an M1 style killer that I've still got double BP offerings on.

  • Yeah... doesn't seem fair. They should probably only do these giveaways with cosmetics not yet purchasable in the store.

  • Nice! 1:00am where I live, if I went to sleep earlier they all probably would have been used by the time I woke up!

    Thanks.

  • No. Besides BP offerings, map offerings are the only other ones I use. Sometimes it's nice to choose a realm/map to play on.

Also map offerings are useful for certain unique playstyles, e.g. spooky Myers on Lery's, Prayer Beads Spirit on The Game etc

  • He really does mow through pallets. Combine his ability with Bamboozle and spirit fury + enduring and he can quickly create deadzones.

  • If that situation happens when there is an obsession, I'd simply slug and go chase someone else/pressure gens. If there is no obsession I'd simply down and hook them again (depending on how good they are in a chase).

Nothing wrong with that. Who really cares if the survivor sticks around to call you a tunnler?
