This was actually tested early on when the EGC was being created. It wasn't the most interesting gameplay, and it removed some of the teamwork close calls around the exit gates. People who were communicating could also just have someone stand there and keep the gate ready to open without starting the EGC. We ultimately decided against it.
The survivors are still under pressure to get that save as soon as possible, though. That hooked survivor will die before the collapse unless someone saves them. Whether the EGC has started or not, they still need to make their move as soon as possible. If you really want to EGC to start for some reason, you can always open the gate yourself. Otherwise you can basically consider the gate open and play accordingly.

Was mine chosen :p
"What was your thought process when going about the ruin change. Such as, when did it first come to talks? What were other ideas? Why the change? Also, it normally makes it around 2 min into matches which stops it from being an endgame perk so why did you do that?"
It was, actually. It was a very well worded question.

Care to give a sneak peek ;)
It'll be a Q&A stream, so the sneak peek would basically be the questions people asked in this thread (minus the hundreds of repeats): https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/120618/
-
It's planned to be this Thursday, as mentioned here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/121091/
Hope to see you there, although we'll be uploading it to YouTube afterwards in case you can't make it.
-
I've never understood it either. It arguably does the least of any exhaustion perk (unless you manage to save someone with it). If they want to use that and stun me instead of using a perk like Dead Hard which could greatly extend a chase, I can't get mad about that. I just laugh it off and catch back up a few seconds later.

So when are you gonna fix the oni map for nurse and the remaining bugs on the killer?
There are fixes for this in the next update.
-
A mix between B and C, so I guess I fall into D. I'd look for the totem while making sure I can escape before getting downed if the killer starts heading my way. Worst case scenario if I get chased back to the gate, I probably bought my team enough time to get the save.

@Peanits Is there plans to change the rank system so all survivors wouldnt get red ranks too easily. Its like night and day difference between some red rank players if you look at their skills.
This much, I cannot say. We do mention rank rework initiatives on the roadmap, but I can't give any details as to what that may be just yet.
-
We've acknowledged it a bunch of times recently, although the threads we mention it on tend to get drowned out by new threads about the same thing. We are looking into matchmaking issues at the moment and we should have more info to share with you soon.

But here´s the problem, why do you choose to benefit the survivor in this situation? When clearly the killer should be rewarded.
Nobody is favored. Whoever gets there first wins, and nobody has to play hide and seek for half an hour.

@Peanits Probably important to also note that a survivor blocking another survivor into a corner, or blocking paths for another survivor to get intentionally hit by a killer is called "Sandbagging", not "Body Blocking".
Some people get those mixed up :D
Wasn't really referring to that. There have, historically, been some cases where survivors have been able to block a killer in a set spot. For example, you used to be able to stand beneath the hole in the Grim Pantry. If a killer dropped down on top of you, they would get stuck on top of you without being able to hit you.
Stuff like that is very rare, but has happened from time to time.

cant survivors just hide the whole game isnt that kinda classified as the same thing? since they can just remain hidden from the killer for however long they want especially if you kill 2 of them and the other 2 just hide to waste your time.
It is, yes. Blocking someone in a corner is just one of the ways it can happen.
EDIT: Specifically if they're making no attempt to finish generators, and the hatch isn't available (so you can't close it and start the EGC).

Pig traps are pretty RNG. so nope.
They are, but it goes both ways. Sometimes they'll get them off first try (maybe only wasting ~20 seconds), other times they'll waste ~2 minutes trying to get it off.
-
It's more or less there out of necessity. It did not spawn with zero generators completed before. The problem was, the survivor would then have to power 4/5 generators alone while the killer patrolled them. Since the killer could patrol them faster than a survivor could power them- and touching a generator tells the killer that someone was working on it- the only conceivable way a survivor could win was by waiting until the killer got bored and gave up, then do a generator. As a result, it became a very, very long game of hide and seek, and it wasn't fun for anyone involved.
These days, the hatch spawns. If the survivor gets there first, the game ends and you still win with three kills. If the killer gets it first, they close it and the EGC starts (odds are they'll get that last kill). Either way, the killer still wins and the game ends, you can move on to the next match.
I would much rather have the game end and move on, personally. If anything, I would just prefer if the emblems were more lenient when there was a hatch escape (since you basically had it in the bag).

@Peanits will you clarify bodyblocking bans to this..... child and/or close the thread? It's basically them arguing with everyone because they refuse to use context instead of verbatim text unless "a dev/mod" says it's TRUE. Its past off topic now.
Bodyblocking is not bannable, period. It doesn't matter if it's a survivor blocking a killer from getting a hook or a killer blocking a window or a pallet to get a hit. It's all fair game.
What is bannable is holding the game hostage. This can include a killer blocking a survivor in a corner so they cannot leave. It would apply if a survivor managed to block a killer in a corner as well, although that's fairly rare since the killer can hit the survivor.
Short version, bodyblocking is not bannable, holding the game hostage is.

There definitely wouldn't be any time to slip it into 3.5.0 at this point. On a personal note, I wouldn't be against it. I can't guarantee that it'll happen, but you've got my thumbs up.
-
Wow, Fibijean over here with the math. I don't think I could say it any better, so I guess I'll just give the TL;DR. More gatekeeper points. Losing a gen isn't as punishing.

I might have an unpopular opinion but there's no such thing as "gen rushing" it's called "bad gen pressure byt he killer" or "the killer decided not to hurt everyone he could if they were all on the same gen forcing them to loose time healing".
And about the tunneling, it's just dumb, unless he dared to teabag you... Tunneling is counterable btw
I'm both killer and survivor red ranks, xbox
I'm more or less of the same opinion, barring 4 toolboxes (often with BNPs). Same goes for tunneling as well. There's a difference between the killer choosing to go for the same guy and getting unhooked and doing a gen, then expecting them not to go for you. They both get thrown around a lot and it really starts to make them lose all meaning.

Any update for mobile? Also anything about this annoying bug or whatever? Not sure what it is tbh, it’s a empty space that doesn’t let you scroll all the way up and blocks some of the site. Nothing major but it can get annoying lol.
Not just yet, no. This is more due to the older theme we're using now. Once we switch over to our new forums, it'll look like this:
Much more compact, the top bar and bottom bar are out of the way until you want them.

Hex protector Wraith with speed add-ons is super fun and nets you a lot of BP, if you have never tried it.
I haven't, but I'll have to give it a go sometime.
-
I have. Granted, I switch back and forth all the time. Keeps it fresh, and it gives me a better understanding of what both sides deal with.
-
They're slowly coming in. The meaty changes are going to be a little while longer, but we started to add some things in now for the time being. Earlier today we updated the BHVR profile pictures to be consistent with our branding, but that made the dev posts stick out less than before. To compensate, we went ahead and added those fancy dev trackers now so they're easier to distinguish.

There is something similar to that in the badges. You'll get a badge each year you've been on the forums. Here's mine, for example:
Though we try not to use too many tags, just to keep things neat and tidy. Actual tags show up on the posts themselves, and when you start to get a bunch of them, it gets cluttered.
-
You are the hero we all need.
-
We haven't announced any plans for the 4th anniversary just yet. We'll typically reveal more info about it when we're much closer (around May).
-
I'll let you all brainstorm, but I would generally argue against having larger rewards for prestiging. On a personal level, I would prefer prestige stays optional for those who have loads of time to play, rather than encouraged for those who might not.
That said, having slightly cheaper nodes wouldn't be too crazy, in my eyes. Granted, you would have to play that one killer or survivor a ton to make up for the three times you prestiged.

There are cows on coldwind?
Yes. They sleep upside down hanging from the tree, or from the ceiling of the slaughterhouse. It's weird how you'd call a building where cows sleep a slaughterhouse, though.
-
Just going to start by saying that I didn't read through the whole post (little busy at the moment), I skipped to the TL;DRs, but I'd absolutely agree that getting matches like that would turn someone off of the game. We're looking into matchmaking issues at the moment, and if all goes well, we're hoping to share some more info on that later this week (no promises, fingers crossed).
-
Yes, that's Moo Moo. Moo Moo is sleeping.
Nobody can convince me that she isn't sleeping.
-
As you've mentioned, we did do pretty much that exact thing for the anniversary last year. The two winning entries are being turned into real outfits (and being released very, very soon). A t-shirt wouldn't be out of the question. If the winning outfit happens to have a t-shirt, it would of course be added.

I love me some Nemesis/Furtive Chase/Make Your Choice. I was using it on Freddy, but now that you mention it, Wraith would do quite well with it.
It's great, I would highly recommend it. Cloaking and uncloaking while chasing your obsession gets you a stack, so you can build them up in no time. Only downside is that- unlike bubba- you need two hits to down someone, so you'll typically want to build up another stack before finishing them off.

But how does PWYF work if you don't find the obsession? What if the Obsession is a Claudette urban evading around the corners of the swamp?
I guess just adapt right?
Not sure where the passive aggressive ending comes from on a post that's genuinely offering someone tips when they asked for it. By no means should that have insulted you on a personal level to warrant that.
It is a bit of a gamble. It doesn't happen all of the time, but it will happen from time to time. It's best used with Nemesis or Furtive Chase (and actually quite a bit of fun, it's my go-to Wraith build). Whether the OP wants to switch up their builds that much, I don't know, that's up to them.
-
These other BHVR people are way too wholesome. If you mess up this presentation, I will NEVER be your friend.
Good luck!
-
For both of those, the main thing I'd be concerned about is that you're running four perks to slow down generators but nothing to help you end chases faster (especially on Wraith, who isn't the greatest in a chase).
Can't speak for everyone, but I'd probably swap two of them out for Spirit Fury and Enduring. Wraith's really good at closing the distance, but loses a lot of it as he uncloaks. You can use that to your advantage to burn through a lot of pallets quickly; a lot of people will stun you as you uncloak to avoid the speed burst you get after you uncloak.
If that ain't your style, something like STBFL or PWYF is nice. PWYF is nice on Wraith in particular since you can cloak to instantly end a chase and get a stack.
That way, you'll be able to get some shorter chases and get that pressure up faster. Totally up to you, though. If you'd rather focus only on slowdown because you're confident that you can get quick chases with the Wraith, that works too.
-
I can't speak for everyone, but I still use Inner Strength and see Steve and Nancy on a regular basis. I definitely get the map from time to time as well.

Well you see, it says: Rank Rework "initiatives".
Making me think it was there to give us some false hope about it . initiatives could mean they start talking about the possibility.
I think they plan to rework rank, but never intended on rewards, just good "plans" on the roadmap to placate.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1001497#Comment_1001497
Very distant past? It's on the year 4 roadmap...
The roadmap mentioned rank rework initiatives, not necessarily rank rewards.

@ImLeslieKetamine said:
Please, @Peanits correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't there been talk about adding rank rewards in the past?
In the very distant past, yes, though it has taken a lower priority over other features.
-
If you factor in the time taken to charge the shred, it's not any faster than kicking it. The real benefit comes from forcing the survivor to drop the pallet sooner to avoid the hit (breaking it in the process).
-

Not good for survivors that wanted to stick around to bully the killer or actually not good overall for both sides
Not good for both sides. A SWF group could have someone sit on the gate and keep it ready to open while the others make a save, while a solo group wouldn't be able to coordinate that. The end result is the same, but the gap between solo and SWF groups would be larger.
-
Sure. To put it simply, to fix a bug, we need to find it first (easy part), figure out what's causing it, then fix whatever's broken. The latter two take time. Given that the last DLC released so close to the holidays, there wouldn't have been enough time to get them fixed before we left. We started on the 3.5.0 PTB pretty much the day after we got back, so at this point, we're looking ahead to the mid-chapter update. Making a separate update at this point solely for bug fixes would be counterproductive, since we'd need to send that update out for certification, only to immediately send out yet another update with those fixes and the new changes right after.
In short, holiday schedule, limited time. This will be fixed in the mid-chapter update. We'll also be giving the Oni more control during his flick at the same time.

But that's just because Wake Up! specifically is garbage, if an item that works with gates was implemented, people would use it, even if it was bad, since bringing in an item doesn't "cost" you anything, where as with perks you have only 4 slots and have to choose carefully. Perks could also work though, assuming such a perk would be worth the perk slot ... Well, it'd be work the perk slot and thus atleast somewhat used :P
That being said Im not a fan of this idea, opening gates is quick enough as is.
Dare I say it would still cost you something. I'm not one of the people who brings items myself, but it'd be a tough sell for someone who does over a toolbox or a medkit. A good medkit replaces the need to bring some sort of healing perk (or the need to find teammates, at the very least), for example.

They don’t care, I literally just asked Peanits and he deleted my post
If you mean in the Q&A thread, that's because the Q&A post is for the 3.5.0 update only. We put it right at the top stating that only questions about the update are going to be selected, and others are going to be deleted. This is the same thing we do for every Q&A thread, or else we'd end up with a bunch of off topic questions.
We are not currently looking into removing the blink recharge mechanic. The changes seems to have had the intended effect and experienced Nurse players are still able to do very well with her.
