Yea but the new hex perk isn’t strong it’s to weak to be a hex perk
That would be pretty debatable, but I'd wager that it probably does more than it seems. I'd be curious to see what kind of affect it has on the stats overall after it has a little more time to settle in. So far it looks very promising.

But, do you really believe the new ruin is a "strong perk"? It's pretty useless by it's own in my experience
It definitely has the potential to be. I've been chased off of a generator that was almost done, and by the time I got unhooked and went back to the generator, it was right back to zero.
-
I don't mean to sound like I'm strongly against it or anything, but I do thing this sorta' undermines the point of a hex perk. The idea behind a hex is that you get a strong effect, but risk it being taken away.
On a more technical level, this would probably cause some issues when you have multiple hex perks, since you'd quickly run out of dull totems for your hex to respawn on.

It can also be used to stunlock the wraith with a flashlight as it doesn't decloak you.
Balanced.
Only killers that have that kind of annoying 'counter' are wraith and trapper that aren't that strong in a first place.
That is a bug, to be fair. It is meant to uncloak you.
-
Just jumpin' in real quick in response to the OP, it's worth noting that Third Seal does not hide the location/scream when the killer hooks someone, it only blocks the aura afterwards. If they're paying attention when they hook the survivor, they'll know roughly where the hooked guy is anyway.
Could be neat if it hid the location as well, though.
For me, I'll say Deerstalker. It's a ton of info if you start to snowball.
-
No, you shouldn't be expecting a ban. That will typically happen when a file is corrupted. You'll want to verify the game files through Steam, and that should fix it.
-
I do get the premise of the idea, but I do think this would be really awkward. Imagine you're not even coordinating with the other guy and you happened to see where the hatch is. They get caught and they're dead on hook, so you start heading over to the hatch. Just as you get there, they rage quit and the hatch vanishes.
I feel there are more elegant ways to handle it, such as blocking the hatch for X seconds if someone disconnects or leaving their husk in the game so they go through the normal sacrifice animation (or get sacrificed EGC style if the killer drops them).
-
That would be pretty nutty. At rank 1, even with a slow killer like the Huntress, I'd be moving at 205% of the survivor's movement speed. That's a free win at that point. I wouldn't want my wins handed to me like that.
-
I wouldn't be super against it. I don't think it absolutely needs to go, but I wouldn't be too distraught if it did. Most survivors don't even seem to know that you can do it. I go up against plenty of people with flashlights who never even try.

A perk shouldn't seek use by a single killer because it benefits their power a lot, a perk shouldn't be that niche Peanits. Another thing, didn't @Janick say y'all dislike perks affecting killer powers? For example, you changed Doctor's Snap Out of It to not be considered a healing action due to Nurses and sloppy.
Anyways, like Janick said a while ago, you can buff Huntress' reload time via an add-on or basekit, then change Iron Maiden.
Iron Maiden
When any survivor is hiding in a locker, receive a visual cue (the perk lights up).
Upon the survivor leaving the locker, their aura is revealed to you for 6/8/10 seconds.
I don't disagree with you; I'm all for some buffs to it personally. I don't think it needs a full on rework, though. The fact that it prevents people from hiding it lockers to stop their aura from being revealed is useful, and it could combo well with perks like BBQ & Chili. If the Exposed effect was longer, I could see it being pretty powerful.

Bhvr is expecting people to do way too much grinding then i've played this game for well over 200 hours and i've only earned enough for maybe 2 or 3 dlcs worth of content, there just shouldnt be killer mandatory challenges or if there are make it so its only one per rift and make that killer free for the duration of the rift.
They are not mandatory. The challenges which require a DLC character can be completely avoided. You do not need to buy them in order to continue through the Tome.
I do understand the criticism, and it is fair, but we either have to limit ourselves to the handful of free characters (which would get stale), or open it up to all the original characters. We do our best to make sure that anything you might need is available while the Rift is active by putting those characters on sale and adding any teachable perks you might need to the shrine for a week.
-
First thing I would say is don't sweat the losses. Sometimes you just have a bad game, sometimes you have a bad night. Oh well, it happens, there's always next time. Shifting your focus away from winning also helps. Try out some different gimmicky builds and go in not expecting to win, that way you're not disappointed if you don't and you're pleasantly surprised if you do.
If that fails and you're starting to get upset, take a break. Watch a movie, cool off, maybe go hang out and watch someone on Twitch. There's nothing wrong with taking a break if losing is getting to you. Forcing yourself to play when you're upset isn't going to make it any better.
-
It's probably not the most helpful tip, but don't sweat it. Everyone has bad matches. You will lose from time to time. If someone really wants to be a sore winner, I just drop them a 'gg' and move on. It really puts the spotlight on them and makes them look bad at that point, and the other guys in the lobby will usually shoot a 'gg' right back. Most people are nice and just won't say 'gg' because they don't want to rub in the fact that they've won. When all is said and done, there's nothing that matters less than what that one guy thinks about that one match.
TL;DR: Every loses. Don't worry about it.

so, if you were bugged, and refused to DC, forcing someone else to DC, that wouldn't be taking the game hostage? ill keep this in mind next time it happens to me.
No, not unless you're intentionally putting yourself into that bugged state.

I'd love to see the Coldwind Farm maps updated to a winter theme.
Because the corn won't survive in the winter.
Hi, I'm corn blind.
For real though, pretty much any of the old maps would be a strong contender for me. The OG three realms could probably use a facelift the most. Crotus Prenn has a lot of unique tiles, Haddonfield has a unique look, the swamp and the rest of the maps since have all had more details.
-
It's not bannable, no. Neither person in that scenario did anything wrong. It would not be considered holding the game hostage since neither person is in the wrong.

@Peanits has the team ever had a discussion on this? It’s such a major difference and I feel like change is needed. It’s almost unbearable playing leatherface against red rank survivors in the hopes that I’ll actually unlock the achievements after 100 attempts.
It's definitely still open to discussion. We never actually changed the achievements themselves, they're still based on a Merciless Victory; it's just the definition of a Merciless Victory that changed. I don't think anyone is passionately against changing them.

The DC penalties will be making a return for another round of testing once we've iron out the kinks.

Thx for your really fast reply ^^ !
We already take care of that for now, but keep working on it, can I count your answer as a green light for BHVR?
No, it's the complete opposite. If you tamper with the files, you're running a serious risk of being banned.
-
If you are modifying anything in the game files, you are at serious risk of triggering the anti-cheat. If this happens, we cannot help you appeal your ban. I would strongly advise against it.

What build do you go for with Huntress? I can't yet find a sweet spot with her.
What if Iron Maiden gave the hemorrhage debuff while the exposed was active? Would fit with the whole Iron Maiden theme.
For my Huntress, I tend not to rely on perks too much. My build is basically just focused around auras so I can go for fancy hatchet throws (aside from Deerstalker, Deerstalker is just good).
Iron Maiden, BBQ, Nurse's Calling, and Deerstalker.
I wouldn't be against Hemorrhage, but I don't think it would be a game changer. The scream will let you know where they are anyway, the real deal breaker is that the Exposed effect wears off before you can get that hit.

Yeah if your up agasing survivors who have a brain, once they know its iron maiden, you wont ever hear them come out locker again lol
This is true. Fortunately if they don't, BBQ sells them out anyway.
-
I'm not necessarily against a buff, but I wouldn't want to see a full on rework. I'm a big fan of it on Huntress already thanks to the reload speed, but the info it gives also comes in handy. Survivors that would normally hide in a locker to avoid BBQ get caught by Iron Maiden, so it helps me keep tabs on people. The Exposed effect is a little short for my liking, though. I've only gotten a handful of downs with it in all the time I've used it.
-
I thought I was the oni one that made puns with his name.
I'll see myself out now.
-
We've seen a couple reports of high pings from that region this morning. We're looking into it and hoping to have it fixed as soon as possible.
-
For the record, in the Dead Hard example you gave, people who abused that to hold the game hostage or avoid being downed/hooked were banned if they were reported.
As someone who used to dish out in-game bans, I can safely say that nobody on the ACM team cares which side you play. If you are breaking the rules, we will happily ban you all the same.
-
What's been working for me is keeping my distance and being unpredictable. If you stick to a short loop, you're probably going to get hit. Running the same loop over and over again makes it easy for him to shock you. Switching between two loops (or a pallet and a window) gives you more options, leaving you with a backup plan if they happen to shock you.

So, if I'm trapper with extra trapps and as soon as I hook someone I start setting them I lose points if it took me 10+ seconds? Same question for Hag and Huntress grabbing axes
The range is only 16 meters, and you've got 10 seconds to leave that area. Even if you spend the first six seconds in a staring contest with the survivor, you'll have enough time to leave that radius before the penalty kicks in. It shouldn't cause any problems unless you're really taking your time to set up or grab hatchets (looking at the hags out there who place all ten traps leading out of the basement).
Even if it does start before you leave, it only knocks off three points ever second, whereas a single hit will give you more than 50. It's pretty negligible unless you're really hanging around or facecamping.
-
I definitely care more about having fun than winning, personally. I don't see the point in doing something you don't enjoy just for the sake of winning. There's no stakes, no prizes- it's just a game. I would rather hit some sweet hatchets through a tiny hole in a wall or stun the killer twice with the same pallet and lose.
Granted, I'm probably not the most competitive person around. I don't mind taking a loss.
-
@Carlosylu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1049899#Comment_1049899
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure the game punishes camping when an unhook is done and you were next to the hooked person, if this was taken away then there's nothing actually punishing campers.
@Peanits sorry to bother you, would you please tell us if campers get any punishment in terms of BP or Emplem points?
You do lose chaser score if you stay near a hooked survivor and there's no other survivors nearby. This kicks in after they've been on the hook for a while, it's not immediate. If there are other survivors nearby, you won't lose any chaser score. The game recognizes that you can't reasonably leave so it won't punish you.
-
Just to chime in, it's possible that they were just trying out Doctor for the first time since the changes and trying to get the timing down for when to shock. It's easy to shock too early or too late at first.
Or it's totally possible that they just don't know what they're doing and shock like crazy. I won't rule that out.

Nope, expected amount being "if all killers were played exactly equally". (100% / number of killers) Legion is played more than that. They're popular.

I can only answer the first from my perspective; while it's in a better spot now than ever before, it's not perfect. We wouldn't be continually updating the game if we were happy with everything. There's still a long list of stuff we'd like to change.
The second half, I can't answer.

I get that, i'm just saying that the point of the post was that you aren't fixing serious bugs for killers such as the sound issues that have been around for months. Almost every game i have someone who, while injured literally makes no noise and they don't have iron will. Or while downed they make literally no noise. Or generator noises being bugged (on both sides) but this affects killer more, for example the beginning of this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqhBALWJc50)
I understand the frustration, but to say that it's because we're favouring one side over the other in spite of clear evidence that we aren't is something completely different. It's purely based on how hard the bugs are to fix.
To give an example:
- Decisive Strike doesn't work.
- Each time it's reported, it's against the Doctor.
- Each time it's reported, the survivor gets a madness skill check.
From that alone, you can narrow it down to madness skill checks very quickly, making it easy to figure out what's causing it and fix it.
Likewise, some can be more difficult to reproduce, such as the sound issue:
- Sometimes a survivor does not make sounds when injured or down.
- This happens against any killer, with any build on any map.
- There is no consistent way to make this happen.
Figuring out what exactly is causing this issue takes more investigation, so a fix is naturally going to take longer. (For the record, we are actively investigating this one right now.)

Not gonna lie, but it's pretty amusing that you use that as "proof" that you fix killer bugs, when the a large amount of those bugs actually create negative experience for survivors. The point is not that you don't fix killer bugs, the point is that you aren't fixing bugs that are detrimental to killers and have been for literally months.
To use an example from that screenshot alone, the Freddy snare placement delay negatively affected killers and surfaced at the same time as the Decisive Strike issue. Different bugs take a different amount of time to pinpoint and fix, it's not a matter of preference.
-
You're never wrong for liking something. Nobody can tell you what you do or don't like. I will say that you're definitely not alone, though. Legion is still used very frequently to this day, more than the expected amount even.

Idk i got the information from the fourms alot of people said that the devs are rank 20s. Are most of you red ranks or rank 20s?
It's basically just a cop out to discredit what we say, there's not really any truth to it. There's a bunch of people here who play on a regular basis, and there's other people who don't play much (someone like an artist doesn't need to play at a high level to make nice art, for example). Anyone who has a say in balance is well versed in the game, though.

I believe Peanits is red ranks. Though I could be mistaken. The other thing I think everyone seems to forget is red rank game play is not the only games that matter. Balancing around either high or low ranks is a mistake in my opinion.
Yes. Rank 1 killer at the moment, and rank 3 survivor (the rank update error has not been kind to me).
-
Not really a dirty build, but definitely a fun one.
Wraith: Play With Your Food, Nemesis, Make Your Choice, Furtive Chase.
Cloak each time you chase the obsession to get a stack. You're fast. It's not exactly practical, you probably won't win games against good survivors, but man is it fun to move that fast.

@Oicimau said:
What was the pallet vacuum?
When you ran up to a pallet, pressing the button as soon as you got the prompt would teleport you to the far side of the pallet and drop it. It made looping way more effective since you could get greedy with it and still not get hit.
-
@GhostofYharnam said:

Ok in terms of chased. Whos your money on?
Probably Meg. She's an athlete and all three of her perks are based around chases.
-
If we're talking about actually living, probably Jake. He used to live out in the woods, so he's got the skills to survive.
In terms of getting chased, that would be a different story.
-
If the survivors were good, you didn't. Granted, the way the game has played has changed a ton since then. Every time something gets harder, people adjust and gradually get better at the game. In early 2017, looping hardly even existed. Most people would run from pallet to pallet, dropping them as soon as the killer got close.
Early 2018 was a little more rough since people were starting to get better, but things long double pallets, vacuums and first-down DS were still in full effect.
But to answer the original question, a lot of people ran Nurse because of that.

its not though maybe on pc but not ps4. and it only pertains to swf as long as the highest rank is the host.we have had this discussion in other swf topics before, they removed that and opened the matchmaking. and i have had many rank 5s and higher swf with raank 16 and lower in my rank 13 and lower matches.i also have many screenshots of players in the game crossed with friends and followers list proving they are in an swf.
I can confirm that it currently uses the highest rank on all platforms, PS4 included. If you have a rank 1 survivor in your group, it'll start looking for rank 1 killers.
(Matchmaking issues aside, of course.)
-
I'd definitely put Ghost Face up there. He's one of the guys that willingly went to the Entity's realm.
Although I suppose Michael Myers has to be the right answer, since he's literally evil in the shape of a person.

As was the Freddy snare placement delay. There is no preferential treatment, some bugs are harder to fix than others.
