"Tentative" means they're not quite sure they completely fixed the problem. See the definition below:
tentative
/ˈtɛntətɪv/
adjective
adjective: tentative
not certain or fixed; provisional.
"a tentative conclusion"

I mean the only people I know who maxed out the game are streamers. idk but again it's a very few amount which I guess can be ignored. And who doesn't like cosmetics
I don't give a ######### about cosmetics and already have the perks I want. It's not about maxing everything, it's about what I actually want to have.
I also find it quite interesting that, to you, "healthy playstyles" are ones that don't focus on the actual goal of each role - killing and escaping.

Can you answer the actual question I wrote?

I thought they said MMR was only enabled on some regions.
-
It wasn't working properly, so it got postponed. This is what's supposed to happen when things don't work as intended. I'd rather the construction work in my house be delayed for a month than having the ceiling fall on me while I'm watching TV. This doesn't mean they lied, at all. Go complain to CDPR if you think postponing something because it's not ready makes them liars.

nobody is saying that its the cosmetics teams fault for doing their jobs and if there are people out there making that dumb argument then they are wrong. However it is managements fault for putting too much assets into one department causing this imbalance. You're right I don't know the noodle code they are dealing with but that again comes down to poor management.
Which do you think is easier: creating cosmetics and other visual assets on an existing system, or fixing bugs with said system? When you answer that, you'll know why bug fixes take longer.

no I do not know their exact numbers, but I do know that they have a steadily growing player base and I also know that that player base doesn't all stop at the base purchase of the game. characters, licensed characters, cosmetics.
they aren't poor and even if you do conservative math they have still made a lot of money. Again this reply is to try and stop the conversation.
haven't found their total copies sold in 2019 but i could probably guess they are close to 7 million by now across all platforms. its not stupid to guess that they aren't desolate and begging for cash on the street corner.
Now subtract salaries and other running costs like servers, infrastructure, and so on. See how much is left over.

Being a brown noser is different from disagreeing with people. I have stated bugs before but continuously vomiting up the same things over and over again, day in and day out does nothing for us or the devs. They're working on them. Just because I don't constantly scream at people because I disagree doesn't mean I don't have any issues with them. The bugs people are describing, I haven't had yet except for the occasional sound bug when the survivor is on the ground and they make no noise.
I'm not going to agree or yell if I haven't had the same issue. That's ludicrous. If you don't like someone's opinion, that is fine but don't insult someone. I could say a lot about people's attitudes on here but I don't. This is a place of discussion, not ridicule. If I see something that I'm about to reply or make a remark on but it seems to be very hostile, I usually won't bother with a reply.

I don't get the "you're too sensitive" argument. In-game toxicity is a form of expressing domination. People do not like to be dominated. It is a simple concept to grasp.
It's just victim-blaming.

In my experience, the mods here are fair. People who are banned by mods (not just on the DbD forum, but everywhere) tend to sanitize their version of events, usually with the same phrases in place of the real reason they were banned, but that's when you know they were fairly banned.
Forums have rules. You may disagree with them and you may not even like them, but willfully breaking them has consequences. You can challenge unfair rules in a way that doesn't get you banned, or you can follow them. Or you can ignore them because you feel the forum is your personal soapbox instead of a private venue, in which case you get fairly banned.

The point of the bots is to stop people from ruining others' games by disconnecting. Why do you think that's a bad thing?

Yeah, that's a good point since the guidelines mention this is about the 4.1.0 mid-chapter patch. I still think it's a worthy question though, considering exactly one year ago, on this month, the devs announced a "husk" system where DC'd survivor bodies can be picked up and hooked, we still don't have it yet.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/73858/developer-update-june-july-2019
"This also gives us an opportunity to strengthen the way we handle disconnections. Survivors who disconnect from a match will leave a “husk” behind. The Killer can then hook and sacrifice this husk to receive the points- and perk tokens where applicable- that they would have earned had the Survivor continued playing."
I already said I think it's an important question. My point is that it's off-topic, therefore it was deleted.

Its not too far off topic its just asking if they might take an update period similar to a mid chapter or chapter and use it for quality of life changes
It is, though. 4.1.0 is primarily about the Hillbilly and Cannibal's changes. Tangentially mentioning 4.1.0 (which OP didn't even do, and neither does your hypothetical) and then asking a question about something else doesn't make a question on-topic.
-
@bjorksnas said:
When they asked for QUESTIONS they meant it, they even said if you have a suggestion put it into the feedback and suggestion category instead. It was just I think you guys should spend some time to patch up the game and shake up the meta by changing perks. How is that a question? <--(example of a question). Try rewording it maybe to something like this
After 4 years of adding new things to the game do you think you might have a period of time where you stop adding things to the game and instead focus of fixing some well known bugs, or change up the meta with just perk changes?
Doesn't matter, it'd still be off-topic.

They don't. It's the same logic as the kid who takes the ball and goes home because others won't play by his rules and/or beat him at his own game.

The first line was a reply to you, the rest was for the thread itself.

It's a competitive PvP game, so people are going to be competitive and play against the other player(s).
@OP:
The "war" won't stop until people stop being labeled as "biased" because they recognize one side does actually have it better than the other. It won't stop until the appeal to moderation fallacy stops being used. It won't stop until false equivalences stop being used. It won't stop until the tu quoque fallacy stops being used.
In short, it won't stop until people learn to accept facts instead of pretending both sides are the same.

Hi!
I happen to have a Master's in physics, so I can discuss this a bit. Conscious thought does not affect reality on a sub-atomic level. This is a common misinterpretation of a fundamental rule in Quantum Mechanics: "observing a system changes its state". So people get the idea that by looking at something or thinking about it, they can change its state.
Here's what really happens. Suppose there's an election, and you want to know where it is. Just observe it right? And Quantum Mechanics tells us that observing it changes its state! BOOM right? Not actually. To "observe" an electron, you have to hit it with something (like a photon), and see what happens. So if you hit the eletron with something, its state will change.
Dammit, Almo, I was gonna strut my physics knowledge. :(

Yes. If they altered SB to not require a choice between optimal mode of transportation and using the perk, I'd be a bigger fan of it. I doubt they will though. The killer mains that dominate these forums and elsewhere already complain about how they missed their ambush attacks because of it. Which honestly is ridiculous because the survivor doesn't get that far away by using SB.
If you could just tap a button and run at 6 m/s for 3 seconds, it'd be broken. 18 meters may not seem like a lot on paper, but it'd take a 115% killer 30 seconds to catch up to a survivor running in a straight line if the survivor was 18 meters away.
-
Always follow the three steps to deal with toxicity:
- Report. Despite what some would have you believe, reports are read and dealt with. However, for the report system to work, people have to actually use it, or it's like complaining firefighters didn't show up to your burning house when you didn't even call them.
- Ignore. Don't respond to them in any way, they're not worth the effort and you might say something that will get you banned instead of them.
- Move on. After reporting them, leave the lobby.
If everyone followed these three simple steps, we'd have a much better game experience for all.
-
If I had to just pick one...
Feral Frenzy now has a reduced stun duration depending on the number of survivors hit.
-
This has been suggested before in various forms. The problem is that SWF, according to the last stats I saw, are present in the vast majority of lobbies. Splitting the queue like this would cause queue times to drop for solo survivors not playing with SWF and spike queue times for both killers not playing against SWF and survivors playing SWF. In short, it'd effectively screw over the majority of players.

So let's cry on a forum and act completely illogical because if I play the game 2 pixels by 1 pixel its hard to see, when they're otherwise completely visible. Okay.
If the game supports a resolution then it should be functional, end of story.

For The third time, you're the only person who is saying they are designed to be blatantly visible. I already asked for the dev stream that agrees with your version of this.
No, you asked for something else. If that's what you meant, then that's what you should've written.
I don't know the streams by heart, but the devs have stated, repeatedly, that killers are supposed to be able to see which items survivors are carrying so they can prepare.
@Nickeh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1472354#Comment_1472354
Because it's yet another super annoying nit picky thing that doesn't actually affect anyone yet people want to cry about it.
People playing at certain resolutions can't see keys at all because they get reduced to a single pixel. So maybe all is fine and dandy for you, but this is a real issue.
-
@ermsy said:
I don't understand why it is an issue to make keys more visible.
Me neither, yet here we are. Someone pointed out the issue with lower resolutions as well, which making keys more visible would immediately solve.

Dude, the items are visible. The only thing that could make them more visible is just listing what they're bringing.
You're trying to get into some weird semantics debate when you're the one saying that they are meant to be "blatantly visible" (whatever that means).
blatantly
/ˈbleɪt(ə)ntli/
adverb
adverb: blatantly
- in an open and unashamed manner.
- "yet another space show that blatantly disregarded scientific fact"
- in a completely obvious and unsubtle way.
- "it's blatantly her first kiss"
Any more questions before you address the argument?
-
@Nickeh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1472337#Comment_1472337
Can you please refer me to the developer stream where they say survivors need giant signs saying what item they're holding? I must have missed it.
Can you address what I actually wrote?
-
@Nickeh said:
But they are visible. Keys are physically smaller items than toolboxes. Is this somehow now the devs favoring survivors because theyre not making them carry the freaking key to the city?
I said, and I quote, "blatantly visible". Emphasis on "blatantly". Please read what I wrote again and address it.

I play as Steve and against Steves. No, not 90% of the time. Sorry.
Even if it was (it's not)... pay attention then?
- Items are meant to be blatantly visible in the lobby.
- Keys are not blatantly visible in the lobby.
- Therefore, they need to be fixed so they're blatantly visible in the lobby.
I boiled it down as simply as I could.

You're right. Items are more like powers since they both use add ons. I guess survivors should see what power is being used.
No, because killers are supposed to have the upper hand when it comes to information in the lobby. Again, this is by design (due to the asymmetrical nature of the game).
-
@InnCognito said:
I have an extremely nice monitor. So i can easily determine if the survivors are carrying a key.
seeing this from BOTH sides (im trying to be a nicer person these days).
- Survivors don't know if I am carrying a MORI or not. So if I see a key. Im going to consider a green or yellow MORI. Or I could dodge the lobby. Or bring FRANKLINS.
- Survivors don't see if the killer is carrying a MORI until the offerings burn (offering that does not turn over is always 1 of 2 things).
------------
I guess we need to make this FAIR for all sides!
- Killers no longer can see keys?
- Killers no longer can carry a PINK mori?
- hatch emits a BEAM of light?
- Hatch can no longer be closed, but a timer of 6 minutes starts on collapse?
Offerings are not items. You can't see any offerings and that's by design. However, you are supposed to be able to see items.
You're not looking at it from both sides, you're creating a false equivalence.
-

OP, that's not stealth. Stealth isn't sitting in a corner doing nothing. Stealth isn't avoiding objectives.
Stealth is much more than just hiding. I can approach the hook without being seen or finish a gen without the killer finding me. I can cleanse multiple totems - including Hex totems - without ever being found. I can heal without the killer ever knowing where I was. I can survive until the end because most loopers think they're better than they really are* and go down easily. That is stealth.
*Thinking you're better than you are is a human problem, not exclusive to survivors or even gamers as a whole.

Players are not an infestation. Why are you trying to make this an "us vs them" issue? Did it ever occur to you that most people on the forum aren't even killer mains, but that they recognize killers getting the proverbial shaft, as SloppyKnockout put it? I get accused of being a killer main all the time, even though I haven't touched killer in quite a while.

You didnt even read my post I gave my reasons to why I think its killer biased you ignored them.
Well, you start off saying that the forum is "killer biased", complaining that anything that benefits survivors is "looked down upon". That goes right into what I said, about one side having it worse in the vast majority of cases and that recognizing which side has it worse isn't "bias".
You go on to say we should "come together" and that it shouldn't be "us vs them" (which is funny given that you start the preceding paragraph by pointing the finger at "killer mains"). This is irrelevant to why you think the forum is biased, which is why I didn't address it.
So, which part of my previous comment made you think I didn't read what you wrote?
-
The forum is "killer biased" for the same reason firefighters are "biased" toward dry, hot areas - they're in a worse situation than the alternatives.
Admitting that one side has it worse is not "bias", it's just recognizing the facts. Argument to moderation is a fallacy. In the vast majority of cases, one side has it worse than the other(s).
