You’re assuming when I would use it, and not using your words to inquire more about the mechanic and why I would like it. Ask questions, and you can make better informed opinions.

Would this feature be exclusively for you? Because if so, then this counter-argument is perfectly fine. If not, well...

His response was directed toward me specifically so I responded with how I used it. I wasn’t speaking for others. ;)

His response is still applicable in a generic setting and is a legitimate complaint. Anything that can be used for good reasons (MLGA for ping) can also be used for bad ones (MLGA to ban people who dared play a specific Killer or in a specific way). This is no different.

And that’s why I reiterated the idea of it being put into a PBT to see how it would work out, or how it may be tweaked to properly function.

From what I understand you both believe that it wouldn’t help people from being hook farmed, but instead would encourage hooked survivors to help killers get other survivors

Edit: is that accurate or is there a concern that deviates from that? If you’re concerned about the abuse of the suggested mechanic, it would be interesting to brainstorm solutions or ways to work around the specific issues you hold with the idea.

I do believe it would help people being hook farmed, but I also know it would be abused by trolls.

Though you mean well Kat, Orion is an in life example of someone who would take offense be it because they have gotten a lot of online harassment in the game, or whatever other reason. I won’t claim I know the source.

But if you feel compelled to wish someone a good game, maybe type out more then the two letters. Even if it’s a universal form of communication in gaming, it will save hurt feelings if you type out a sentence to add context.

The intentions are good, but it’s also important to not do something that makes YOU feel good that’s optional if it may negatively effect others

It would depend on the context. My point is, if the OP's intention is to say GG, then they have to keep in mind that it will not always be perceived as they think it will. If their intention is to actually get their point across, they should use something else.

Ok cool. You're the big bad killers on this forum I see.

Well I'm the P3 Claudette with Decisive and Flashlight tbagging at the exit gates. Come at me :chuffed:

    Hello

We think that Perks should mostly affect your M1 mode as a killer and not buff your power (to a certain extend at least)

Question: the Legion can't benefit from the exposed status effect on survivors while using their power, but the Nurse can. The Nurse is well known for being in absolute the strongest killer, and if there is one whose power is a "free hit" it's her. What's the logic behind this?
I can understand the potential to hit 4 survivors in one frenzy would make NOED and Devour Hope OP, but wouldn't be enought to add the condition that downing a survivor ends the frenzy?

    Hello

Our reasoning is because it's very much too easy to get a hit with the Legion power, compare to the Nurse.

If you look at several of the suggestion threads, the general consensus seems to be that the Legion isn't weak per se, but rather that Deep Wound does not provide the Legion with enough benefits to be worth it. This is not unlike the Doctor when he was first released. Do you have any plans to change the Deep Wound mechanic?

They probably thought it would be too powerful. Legion can hit survivors all day long with his ability so I can imagine that they thought he'd be seeing NC auras left and right if lots of pressure is applied. He then could bait survivors into stopping the healing and start the timer or he can rush in and get a hit. I still don't think that'll make him strong enough to compete with other killers, especially that his potential would lie in a perk.

Thanks, you exactly described how the Legion SHOULD work.
Of course from a killer perspective.
Killer player want killer that can actually do their job and KILL.
But the Devs created Legion to entertain the survivor.
So killer player will buy -with money or shards- something that is not "made for them", but is "advertised" as it.
Legion will be the perfect "killvivor" (survivor that play killer sometimes and just play how they want the killer to play).

Any killer main who buys legion after this PTB and is dissapointed deserved it tbh.
Even the perks are completely useless, I will completely skip on this one if there are no massive changes done

Not a Killer main, but I was excited for Deep Wound. It seemed good on paper, but in practice it makes the Legion worthless. This will be the first DLC I won't buy until the Legion or Deep Wound get some changes.

@Peanits could you please enlighten this player that defend the camping?

Wow, are you going to be disappointed.

  • Permanently ban every single toxic player. This would be a buff to Killers, who'd be forced to learn to play better instead of being rewarded for camping, and to Survivors, who'd finally be free from hook vultures.

If anything, survivors are more likely to hold the game hostage in most cases.

    Indeed they are.
I get the feeling that one of the reasons people like him defend anything Survivor-related because they're operating under the "middle ground" fallacy. Simply put, that both sides of an argument are equally valid and that the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Truth, however, is not that simple, and often times, one side really is worse than the other or just plain wrong.

Or use perks like Stake Out. Hex: Ruin can be countered by perks too.

I love how on this forum...

If a survivor tbags, you camp them and it's perfectly ok. ( And I agree with that, I've camped a tbagger before).

But if a killer camps and survivors tbag in return its MODS BAN PLZ!!! THIS IS SOO TOXIC!!

The fact that you can't see the hypocrisy is really worrying.

Sweetie, we're discussing holding the game hostage. Were you confused?
You don't know DbD's history or how camping became a problem, so you lack the necessary context for understanding why the blame lies solely with the Survivors.

  • @The_Crusader said:
Actually no, people like you are the reason why there's such a huge war between the survivor and killer community.

I love how you say "nothing but piss me off the whole game". - WE DID NOTHING WRONG!!

Thats the point. Many of us survivors don't tbag, we don't sabo hooks etc etc but people like you facecamp people out of the game. Then act shocked when we start tbagging in return.

I said I only tbag AFTER the killer starts camping. They start the toxic behaviour.

And you know what I do if I walk to the hatch and see a survivor on it? I hit them. Takes me 2 seconds and I save myself 10 minutes. Shocking concept I know.

Anyway im done with you. Like all killer mains here you think its fine for killers to play toxic and then start verbally insulting me by calling me a "toxic little ****" just because we get revenge. You are so entitled and petty.

Revenge for the problem you caused? Yes, you are part of the problem. When the game was released, everyone knew what to do in case of a camper: rush gens. Nowadays you do the thing that camping is designed to counter (reckless rescues) and blame the Killer that it didn't work. In other words, you act like you're entitled to free rescues.
What a surprise! Who knew that if you use scissors against rock, you will lose every single time. (Not my analogy, but it is a beautiful analogy that should be used every time in regards to camping complaints)
Survivors caused this problem. Thanks to them, camping pays off 9 times out of 10. You are part of the problem if you think being toxic helps in any way.

Daring to stand up for survivors here gets you so much abuse it's ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong, the killer side aren't all angels, but some of the stuff 'attempting' to be justified here is just freaking hilarious.....and eventually just a little bit sad.

At the end of the day you play how you want to play, just don't be surprised when admitting you will perform a bannable offence on the forums, leads to an actual ban.

There's proving a point and then there is stupidity. You do you.

These threads are why people say Survivors are entitled and toxic. These two people represent the majority of Survivor attitudes that Killers are expected to put up with. The label is a stereotype, true, but it's a stereotype based on reality.

I'm aware, the reasoning isn't lost on me.

I just wanted to make it perfectly clear to you and anyone else who reads this thread that Killer complaints about Survivor attitudes are not due to the stereotypical "snowflake Killer" myth that's spread around by Survivors like the OP. There's a very real problem with Survivor attitudes, and this thread is a perfect depiction of iT

Again, kinda covered it in my post. Have also called out my own sides bulls**t on many occasions. As an actual survivor main, it can get very wearing to think you are included in such descriptions because of the bad apples. But again, the proof keeps coming and with it, the understanding.

I'm curious how survivors manage to "take the game hostage" without cheating i.e. getting into places the killer can't reach.

I mean if you're just crouching around the map or waiting at the exit gates you're not doing anything the killer can't sort out.

I'm curious how you think pretending not to know helps your case in any way. You're still the bad guy for taking the game hostage.

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:
So the Killer camps, which isn't exactly a bad thing and makes sense in some situations and you get pissy about it and try to waste their time? I'm not sure you realise who is actually toxic here.

Sorry, I got mind blown by the last sentence. Had to read it 3 times, my mind couldn't accept something that dumb

Their argument, IIRC, was that because all the clues fit a Wendigo (they didn't, as was pointed out to them over the course of several pages), they were right to suspect a Wendigo (they weren't, since none of the clues fit).

  • @Malakir said:
After tons of examples and reasons why this is a bad idea, you keep thinking this ain't true

Your is a feel vs real argument. "I feel this is unfair" still Claudette an medkits exist " I feel people around lazy to learn the game and spend time on it to get to the point they get self care as teachable"

I made some many examples I've lost track of em and others did their best to explain it why. Darn, almost every survival game you need a med kit or you're screwed and cant heal by yourself. Here you even have the option to do so

I know logic and facts aren't enough for you but thats all we have

This is the same person who said that the Killer clues we got fit a Wendigo, even though one of the clues was the bona fide name of the Killer and another one was the image of the Killer, and then said that just because they were wrong doesn't mean they weren't right.

  • @The_Crusader said:
The killer CAN win a hatch standoff. I've won it before.

I could take the hatch and get away - offer the killer a chance to grab me. I'm actually doing them a favour. Again they could end it at ANY TIME by hitting me, THEY choose to stand there.

Standing in exit gates - again all they have to do is walk up and whack the survivor. Not hard at all.

None of that is holding the game hostage at all. We've been over the exit gates thing before. None of this is holding the game hostage like say blocking the basement stairs bevause the killer can easily stop it at any time. So no, there won't be a ban my friend.

Enjoy the new borrowed time btw :) I'll be bringing it every game. You're going to have to work harder for your camps.

I'm glad you're putting your toxic behavior out in the open.

PS: I don't play on console, and I usually run MYC, so good luck with that.

  • @The_Crusader said:
I can take the hatch without killer knowing - or I give the killer a chance to win s hatch standoff. Seems I'm actually doing them a favour.

And I'd argue its killers who hold the game hostage. When they canp nobody gets any meaningful points. Its denying the other players a proper game.

Stop defending crappy behaviour. Losing points for staying near the hook, borrowed time changes...you think you'd accept that it's not the intended way to play by now.

The Killer cannot win the hatch standoff and you know it. Stop pretending you're not being toxic.

Camped Survivors eventually die. That's not holding the game hostage.

I hope you didn't buy any DLC, because when bans come out on console, you'll definitely be on the chopping block.

  • @The_Crusader said:
Could just ya know....step away from the hook and chase someone else.

Seens like an easy solution to me but god forbid killers chase anyone but the first guy hooked.

You are not entitled to a free rescue.

  • @The_Crusader said:
Why are you being toxic again?

If killers force a guy to get no points and depip due to camping then we're going to do our best to avenge the guy. It's the honorable thing.

Don't like it? Then either don't camp or don't complain about it.

Walking to the exit gates and forcing the survivors out is soooo hard lmao

Why are you being toxic all the time? Stop holding games hostage.

  • @The_Crusader said:
Oh here you are defending camping yet again.

Survivors can't hold the game hostage genius. Killer sees me at the hatch? Just hit and I jump out. I OFFERED a hatch standoff, they never had to accept it.

As for the exit gate thing it didn't last long. Killer came over and hit us and we went out. You can't really hold the game hostage as survivor.

So no, we're not the toxic ones. You can't tell other people how to play and have fun. Maybe I want to be chased out for those few extra points? Maybe I want to stay in the game a while longer for more points? Especially since you don't get many against a camping killer since you lose benevolence and evader pointsm

I like how even the most toxic of all killers are always innocent in your eyes. They can never do no wrong. No they're the toxic ones and people lile you who defend every scummy thing in the game are bad for the community.

"But but only the killer is allowed to be toxic!!!"

    Lmao give me a break.

"You didn't let me score a goal, so I'm kicking you in the shin."
You were the bad guy and you know it. That's why you're seeking outside approval, and you decided to jump in this thread because you want to turn it into a safe space/echo chamber for people like you.

  • @The_Crusader said:
Lol the other day we had a camping killerm so we all stood in exit gates as long as possibke tbagging. The killer acted like we were rhe bad guys for rhat after the game  the nerve of some people.

I've also caused hatch standoffs against camping killers. Well cant really cause it as a survivor but I'll wait a hatch and get their attention and they'll always take the bait. Its so easy to win as survivor, you can just browse the internet on your phone, and ifnyou hear your character get hit through earphones you just press a button. Killer has to have hand on mouse at all times. Its funny because you glance up and can see they're getting restless. Even had one guy disconnect on me. But again before anyone tries to call me the bad guy - I never forced a hatch standoff, they accepted it. They had every opportunity to just hit me and lose.

So yeah, play toxic and I'll be toxic in return.

You were the bad guy in every one of those scenarios, just like the OP. Camping is an intended strategy, holding the game hostage is not. Good job on proving that you are bad for the community.

    Ironic

There's a word for that behavior, but "ironic" ain't it. Unfortunately, we can't use the proper term due to the rules.

  • Report the rule-breakers. Body-blocking is an intended mechanic.

  • Sure, as long as it's also gutted. One heal per trial. A base mechanic that allows for unlimited, self-sustaining, full heals is absurd.

  • @Judgement said:
Oh yeah lmao sorry I was awake for 5 minutes when I made that post.
Survivors can easily heal Deep Wounds and the progress bar isn’t depleted when they’re struck again or when the action is cancelled. They should do what their original idea for Self-Care was do mending must be 100% in one go without stopping.
The bleedout bar doesn’t deplete when in a chase or mending. It should go down at least half-speed during chases, right?
That and The Legion move at 110%, which makes them susceptible to looping. According to others in the forums, 110% makes Killers have to take four times longer to catch Survivors, IIRC.
    That about right?

Note that apart from the movement speed, every other problem boils down to the Deep Wound mechanic. 110% would be a perfectly acceptable movement speed if the Deep Wound mechanic were actually dangerous to Survivors. The Huntress also moves at 110%, but her hatchets are actually dangerous (when used properly). Deep Wound is just non-threatening to the Survivors, if not actively harmful to the Legion, and therein lies the problem.

I haven't done the math on how much longer it'd take a 110% Killer to catch a Survivor relative to a 115% Killer, so I won't comment.

Stop unhooking survivors and the killers will stop camping.

So, let all the survivors get one hooked then? How about no. And camping doesn't mean in your face. It means staying REALLY close, heartbeat close, so they can tunnel you when you get unhooked. Its stupid, it ruins the survivor experience, and it destroys immersion. Killer mains will always cry about something, thats just who they are, but intentionally camping like that needs mega severe consequences.

Stop rewarding camping if you know it's happening. Camping can already have "mega severe consequences", if you're willing to stop trying to ignore the Killer and start thinking about how to counter them.
