They are applied differently. Off The record is personal and borrowed time is altruistic. Borrowed Time also works in endgame whilst off the record doesn't. It also doubles movement speed increase duration. It absolutely has a place in the game

Her old chase music was irritating. So was ghost face's old chase music and so was xenomorph's PTB chase music
-
FNAF but i haven't played DD cause it's not fully released on ps5 yet. It's probably FNAF either way though, i've been engaged with the series since 2014. I remember seeing a springtrap concept in dbd in 2016 (it was inspired by the halloween chapter releasing)
Since i've started playing i have wanted it to happen. I feel like it would be a great fit and certain things like the music in the game store reminds me a lot of fnaf.

I found it here.
It's January - March.
We are getting a new update with the new survivor in late January. (This was revealed in the anniversary roadmap) Then a new chapter in march i believe. So if it's not January it will be in march. But they could delay it i suppose so stay tuned in case of that.
-
I can only assume it's people being spiteful. I honestly just find it sad that some people have so little respect for their own time that they waste it just to occupy others.
-
Wasn't it already on the roadmap for january
-
I agree, this mechanic needs to be removed.
I believe the design intent is to make it more likely for a survivor to wiggle out when others get sacrificed, to increase their chances of survival a little bit.
But the reality is that it usually just makes it impossible for certain survivors to get hooked leading to situations like this.
So it'd be better off removed.
-
I would like it. A non-human survivor sounds fun. Would be a cool detail if they had different coloured blood.

If I bodyblock a teammates over and over, no one is going to give me the benefit of the doubt that I GENUINELY forgot the controls to get out of the way or I GENUINELY didn't know they wanted that pallet/window.
Why is finding the killer, standing in front of the hook without running and suiciding on hook given the benefit of the doubt of being incompetent, but we have no problem calling the other stuff griefing?
I'm just sharing what the devs said. I'm too lazy to find the source but i know mandy said something like this.
By way killer standing in front of the hook. That's camping and it's explicitly not against the rules.
-
Because you can't say that it's trolling when maybe they tried to genuinely unhook themselves and then genuinely failed the struggle skill checks.
Very unlikely but if you start banning based on assumptions it will get out of control.
-
Can we not necro 2+ year old threads
-
tbh i totally forget that it's a FOV slider and not a solid increase
-
Just thought of another idea. Since this chapter comes out late january it is releasing close to a game called Persona 3 : Reload on February 2nd. It's a remake of Persona 3.
Persona has been in one of DBD's satisfaction survey's before when asking what licenses you would like to see in the game. It was in the video game dropbox before i believe.
The survivor would probably be Makoto Yuki who is the protagonist of the game.
The game is anime style which makes it seem unlikely, but maybe that's what the surprise of it is. DBD's first anime style character.
I think it would be a good fit as well since Persona 3's main theme is about death, accepting death and a common tag line in it's marketing is "memento mori".
So adding a survivor who opposes death would be like a force of hope against the killers.
So yeah i admit it's unlikely but i find it an interesting possibility.

Add Crypto from Apex Legends to Dead By Daylight as the killer.
Yes this is exactly what i want. Haven't played apex in a few years though so im not sure if he still plays the same but yeah
-
Yeah im not looking forward to it honestly. Blinding has had power creep for about a year and this is going to further it. Thank goodness we have lightborn
-
@Xernoton said:
I believe they said it wouldn't make flashlight saves easier.
I am honestly fine with it either way. I constantly run Shadowborn and just the thought to free that perk slot is great.
They said the opposite im pretty sure.
Someone asked if the increased FOV would widen the blinding angle, they said yes it would
-
Using tombstone piece at completely unexpected times
-
Ashley should be her own survivor and all her perks should involve relying on other survivors π
-
Dunno how people can think there are better options to run. I think it's the best killer perk on every killer. Start of the game is when it's practically impossible to defend all of the generators so anything that allows you to defend generators early on is very valuable. Corrupt does this perfectly.
One idea i have is to make the generators that would be corrupted by default make them have reduced repair speed (like 50% reduction) until 2 minutes pass or the killer gets a down i think this gives a fair chance at the early game. This would still make corrupt an interesting perk to use because it would have the effect of forcing survivors to come to you whilst by default the survivors can choose.
-
You are not a killer main
-
There is no cross-progression between epic and xbox.
-
I'd only be okay with it if the old maps were just reskins. But if they brought it back with the same gameplay that would be horrible.
Especially with how MMR is now.
If the old maps have anything like this, i don't want em.

I'm still hoping for Frank West or Alan Wake. But I'd be happy with an original survivor too, so long as they have a decent story behind them.
Alan Wake would be amazing. The perks would be pretty creative. I imagine they would be perks that give him insight and a new way to use a flashlight.
Haven't played the 2nd game yet ( about 80% through the first one) but i know it's positively received and there is DLC coming for it so it would be a great time to do so.
-
Sad that most people seemed to miss the point of your post.
Just because the dbd sphere on the internet is negative doesn't mean that's how the majority of the player base feels. Is this what you were trying to say?
I also think people with positive options are less likely to share them because people will just tear it down and say why you are wrong for feeling positive about the game. It's not worth doing.
I'm glad BHVR do the satisfaction surveys because they are anonymous and private so i do think they are getting the necessary feedback thankfully

Does Pain Res. even work with Dead Man's anymore?
Yes it works.
There was a short period where it didn't. But then because of Merciless Storm they restored the interrupt of pain res so that the combo worked together again.
They nerfed DMS to 30 seconds from 45 because of this though.

So....
Basic attack killer is too strong now? You confuse me.
The shred is supposed to give demo the edge in chase. If you get destroyed more by basic attack killers, than that's more of a you - problem. Sorry to say.
Where is the information on what they are gonna do to Stbfl? You seem to know more than the rest of us.
I didn't say basic attack killer was too strong.
Yes shred is supposed to help demogorgon in chase. That's why i don't like that STBFL allows you to just abandon that part of shred and just use shred at close range to just save stacks.
There isn't details about the STBFL update but i think it's safe to assume that it's going to be nerfed.
-
Honestly for killer this trade offer is not worth it pain res and dead mans are very helpful. Buckle up and ftp is just really annoying but you can just wait 10 seconds and then down them.

This whole discussion is also pointless because developers already made up their mind.
Then suddenly every feedback is pointless. And if that is happening, then we have a problem.
No, it's the relevancy of the feedback that matters.
Nothing has changed with STBFL since 6.1.0 when they decreased base attack cooldown which indirectly buffed this perk pretty much.
There's already been enough time to collect feedback and so at this point there's nothing more to be said about the perk.
They already announced the perk will be changed so i think it's fair to assume they have already collected the necessary feedback and since this post is literally just a beg to not nerf it. It's not very useful they already decided what they want to do most likely.
-
You want them to disable DC penalty so you can rage quit faster.

It's too strong on demo? Excuse me?
Too strong for the amount of effort required. Just play him as basic attack killer with stbfl and then just shred the obsession whenever they come by. It's stupid and overshadows his power. When i lose against demo i want it to be because they used their power effectively not because they used save the best for last.
Anyways you already admitted you are biased about this anyways so it's pointless to try and convince you to change your mind about this topic.
This whole discussion is also pointless because developers already made up their mind.

never mind

Disagree.
On killers like Wesker, other perks are by far more optimal.
The BEST user of Stbfl is pig (for a ton of reasons, I will not go into right now). How dare the op pig use her almighty ambush to save her BUILT UP Stbfl stacks.
The other 2 best users are Demo and Trapper. Literally what is the issue if these killers save their stacks?
The perk has to be build up. It's not at 8 stacks at the start of the trial. All 3 of these killers need the extra push in chase.
Why do we want to destroy a perk that helps out the weaker chasers and doesn't help the stronger ones??? (Spirit excluded. Although she also can't save her stacks)
I stand by what i said you shouldn't be able to bypass the ability for the obsession to counterplay you just because your killer has a special attack. It makes the perk uninteractive and uninteresting
It's too strong on demogorgon, shred makes it so easy to save stacks and it overshadows his power. It's really boring and frustrating to play against.
Interactivity is why i think it should be changed not balance reasons (except the affect on demo)
-
I think this is affecting the onryo's tv's too. Was playing as her and i noticed most of the time she only had TV's on one side of the map.
It's an unfortunate conflict between the spawning of the snow piles and killer objects.
Hope devs can address that should it come back next year.

They need to remove 2 stacks and m2 hits on obsession also removes stacks. Problem solved.
Yes exactly it's not fair how m2 killers literally just remove the counterplay for it.
Also i wouldn't be against making it easier for obsession to counterplay the perk either. Like maybe when you are obsession and survivor other than you gets hit killer aura gets revealed.
-
Probably not they just need to fix that being a thing
-
The fun thing about chucky and wesker is that their powers are very engaging because they help with what you constantly do. Chase and find survivors.
They are also likable characters with amazing voice overs.
So it makes a lot of sense why they are popular.
-
Not his best add-on. You can still hear the sound of him uncloak (the burning sound)
I rarely use it i use Swift Hunt instead
-
I hope it gets changed because it's just boring. I've abandoned all aura reading perks and add-ons because of it. When i notice a survivor has distortion there's nothing i can about it but accept that my aura reading won't work on them and every time i try to read their aura they get 10 seconds of no scratch marks.
If Distortion is causing killers to abandon aura reading perks completely then it's doing it's job too effectively. It should help you against aura reading perks but the perk at the moment nullifies them and turns aura reading perks into a disadvantage for the killer.
If nerfing distortion means nerfing killer aura too then i'll be fine with that
-
I don't agree with this they were nerfed massively. Nerf them anymore they are going to feel underwhelming as hell.
But i don't think hit and run is really that viable at the moment still though. But i don't think medkits are to blame. Because i notice in lobbies with no items.
Maybe the mangled rework will help with this we'll have to see

I suggest contacting them here : Contact Us β Dead By Daylight
It's a link to the support for the merch store specifically.
Just wanted to ask incase you may have been confused about the green variant thing>
I hope you will be able to get it π
-
They sold a mystery sadako box on the dbd merch store. They didn't post on twitter about it though and it sold out in 4 hours so it went pretty under the radar.
I only knew about it because of this video:

They said in march 2022 i believe that hug tech is not intended and will be fixed. It's now december 2023 and hug tech is not fixed...
-
Yeah. I mean it can't possibly be a bad thing anyway. But yeah i would just buy all the dlc when it goes on sale for the other platforms i want to play on.
-
What item were you missing? I got the box too.
-
Abandon perks that can be countered by distortion and calm spirit. Considering the perks already have a lot of restrictions the existence of these two perks just makes the risk of not getting any value out of them too high.
-
1st bullet point is not true. It depends on how high the walls of the loop are. On yamaoka if the survivor just runs around the big rocks trickster is forced to hit you. Decisively dropping pallets like this is important in playing against him.
2nd bullet point. This is true for every ranged killer.
3rd statement is majorly incorrect. In throw state his movement speed is decreased to 3.8m/s.
4th bullet point depends on line of sight
Make him slower and give him another knife buff? I feel like this would just make the problems you have with him worse.
In my opinion based on my game experience i don't think he needs any further changes. Survivors are still escaping me a lot and unfortunately he is still one of my worst performing killers in terms of kill rate. But at least he is less frustrating and much more fun to play as.
I think he is still not very good because his power is purely an alternate way of damaging at short to medium range. He has nothing else like mobility, detection, slowdown.
His power also only allows you to injure faster. It does not allow you to deplete pallets faster. Pallets are still effective against him if they are used at the right time and in a way that causes a long enough wall.
I can understand why he is frustrating but he is by no means overpowered. If you read his description on the game website, he is working as intended.
"The Trickster overwhelms fleeing Survivors with a relentless barrage of blades. Seemingly safe actions like vaulting windows and dropping Pallets turn into target practice"
He is designed to be punishing and oppressive. He is not anything more. He can't slow the game down like pig or cenobite or reveal you like doctor.
If they are to address these frustrations they would have to give him a different power entirely and i think that would be a shame because i do think he has a place in the killer roster at the moment. And it's not like all killers are going to ever have 100% approval rate.

I often get a skill check when I take my hand off the generator and it explodes, but is that just luck? Because it happens too often (Toririn-san)
You're right, it's bad luck! Skill checks are completely independent from other systems, except for those that manipulate the timing and probability of occurrences of perks, etc. However, we are looking into ways to improve the frustration caused by skill checks occurring at the exact moment you release your hand. I can't give you any details today, though.

what is kill switched?
It's when an item becomes completely disabled for use. They kill switch things that have a game breaking bug so that it can't be abused.
-
The Knight is kill switched due to a bug. It means he won't be available until they fix him.

I believe a place to hide was located
