No offense but anyone with reason would have expected this to get nerfed. Insane for an add-on in general and even moreso for a yellow add-on.
10% is still quite good that makes your cooldown from 2.7 to 2.43. This makes much more sense for an add-on. -

Let me explain clearly why Shoulder the Burden adds extra hook stages to the game:
- How Hook Stages Normally Work
- Every survivor has 3 hook stages:
- First Hook → Second Hook → Death Hook.
- The killer needs 12 hooks total (3 hooks per survivor) to kill all 4 survivors.
- Every survivor has 3 hook stages:
- What Shoulder the Burden Does
- When a survivor is unhooked, they can give one of their hook stages back to the person who unhooked them.
- For example, if someone is on their second hook (death hook), they can use the perk to go back to their first hook state while giving the unhooker an additional hook stage.
- How This Adds Extra Hooks
- The killer now has to hook the unhooked survivor again to get them back to their second stage.
- They also have to hook the unhooker again to reclaim the stage they gained.
- This means the killer ends up needing more than 3 hooks per survivor, increasing the total hooks required to eliminate the team.
- Maximum Impact
- If one survivor uses Shoulder the Burden, it can add 2 extra hook stages (one for the unhooked survivor, one for the unhooker).
- If two survivors use it, it can add 4 extra hook stages.
- If all four survivors use it perfectly, the killer could need up to 20 hooks instead of 12.
- Why It’s Significant
- The perk recycles hook stages, making the killer's job harder because they have to hook survivors many more times than usual to secure kills.
Number 3, 2nd bullet point. If you hook the unhooker who used shoulder the burden they would go to 2nd hook or die, there's no "reclaiming" stages.
It does NOT add extra hook stages, it moves them around. - How Hook Stages Normally Work

Played escapist the most because i thought it was the most fun.
As killer i used brute the most because there's so many pallets -
No Flip Flop either 🤷
-
Wraith, Hag, Spirit, Dredge, Unknown.
I'd like more stealth killers though -

Didn't Peanits left recently? I think BHVR has been awfully quiet lately.
I miss @Peanits
He is still working on DBD "behind the scenes" but he's not a community manager anymore
-
Irritating.
-
Dead Hard is still a dodge perk, it wasn't really a dodge perk before it was just gain distance + become invulnerable

He's not slow enough to matter, especially given the speed buff. You don't ever have to follow up with an m1, you just immediately start revving and go again. Why m1?
It does matter a lot in loops.
You would m1 because the survivor should be able to make it to a vault or pallet after you miss a sprint. Like the miss cooldown is 2.7 seconds and it takes 2.5 seconds to charge again. If a survivor cant make it to a vault or pallet in time then they are severely out positioned. -
He's slow when charging your power so it can be a major hinderance if you aren't using it correctly. They increased the miss cooldown so you cant follow up with an m1 anymore.
-
Usually chapters release on Tuesday, and in these cases they release the thursday before. But this one is releasing on a Thursday. So maybe early next week or possibly not at all. We didn't get a dev update for the PTB. Also, Peanits is not a Community Manager anymore and he usually posted them so that might have something to do with it
-
Probably won't use the ultra rares again, they take far too long.
I think i'll just mainly use j.myers memorial + flower add-on, you can tier up extremely fast and the evil is double so you would probably never run out.
Lock of hair buff is decent you can make your ew3 100 seconds for only 2.5 more stalk points on the first one, although i prefer to have it short so i can go back to having a <16m terror radius.
I still don't think i would use scratched mirror, as it's the exact same as it is right now. Unbearable to use on outdoor maps.
Vanity mirror gets a slight boost though, as it's faster to get out of ew1.
Tombstone piece seems better unfortunately because it uses proportionately less evil. -
This free weekend is not available on PC, it's playstation and xbox only
-
Why did Smash hit activate 0_0
-
I like the chapter but the killer is extremely weak and they need a lot of improvements and i worry they don't have enough time to make sufficient changes. Eagerly awaiting the next developer update.

To add to this: several challenges in this page also fail to mention the "complete in 2v8" requirement. I tried one in regular mode but it didn't progress.
Both issues have now been fixed!
-
It's simply because the rift is blue.
-
I do hope they are planning to bring the rift items that have been into the bundles to the store because it's fomo on top of fomo. And i just the bundles are simply a limited time discount
-
Hillbilly, Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Huntress, Deathslinger, Trapper
I'm not counting wraith because im pretty sure he is bugged, he uncloaks a lot faster than 22% and he also has a delay before he can even attack. -
Lights Out but only the 2.0 castlevania version. The 1st one was very frustrating but i feel like they addressed a lot of that in the 2nd one. I thought the atmosphere was amazing and the balance was a lot better.
-
The chapter is confirmed to come out November 28th
-
Maybe chucky? He gives me hamster vibes
-
I'm pleasantly surprised they were able to fix this without a patch

She's "a phase-walking killer" :)
Ah true i was thinking of onryo who is "vengeful ghost"
-
Aren't both spirit and deathslinger known as vengeful killer? or at least i think there's two killers that have that title
-
I prefer 1v4. Has much more tension.
-
Afaik the devs havent said this.
Devs have been saying for like a year that he will get an update. But i think this is the update that we're getting. -
If you reach for it… reality is, it's not changing at all.
-
@MoZo said:
same. Hopefully they release the dev update post right when the haunted by daylight event ends because usually they drop their dev updates on Thursdays around this time of day.
The event has actually ended, which is 1hr earlier than they said it would. But the limited time collections can still be bought for 53 more mins.

True, only exception is if they are on switch

Because the viability of slugging vs hooking has been a hot topic lately and knock is a perk designed to make slugging more effective.
It does do that, but i think the difference in it's effect between solo q and swf needs to be addressed. Beyond that, behaviour would need to evaluate if they want slugging to be a part of the game at all. -
.
-
No, there is not an edition of the game that includes all DLC. As far as i know, the gold edition only includes all original chapter DLCs up until the all-kill chapter. So it's missing 3 years worth of original dlc and all licensed.
-
Game is still lopsided when a player DCs for a bot, the bots are terrible against some killers and can be easily used for perks like pain res or pop
-
I think the dev update will be on thursday
-
ptb is likely to be november 12th
-
the ptb is likely november 12th or at least the week of it since the chapter is in december and ptbs are usually 3 weeks.
So i think the dev update will probably be next thursday and the chapter teaser on Friday. with small teases throughout the week. Thats what they usually do. -
PTB to live i believe
-
Went against a blight that won purely by slugging. Played normally but just slugged instead of hooking.
On killers that can down fast it's a big issue. Matches are unfullfilling when survivors dont get hooked. Throw in perks like third seal and knock out and it becomes unbearable. -
What does "abusing deep wound mechanics" mean?

@zarr said:
I'm not sure people are aware what its recent "bug fix" actually did:
Fixed an issue that caused the Moment of Glory perk to lose its charges when entering the dying state
This not only means that contrary to what @Caiman claimed you don't lose any charges on being downed, but more crucially, it instantly starts healing you again once you are back on your feet. So if you have Glory ready, get downed but then healed up again by a fellow teammate or Unbreakable or the like, you instantly become Broken again, and the 60-second timer starts anew. This also carries over to being hooked, then becoming Broken and healed within 60s after the unhook. As well as escaping the killer's grasp, be it by wiggling, stun or blind rescues, or Decisive Strike.
While this has notably improved the perk and made it have more consistent value, the risk that getting downed would render the investment to activate the perk naught wasn't something that held the perk back from being "great" or anything, it was more so something that pushed it into "you'd be pretty crazy to use this, unless you actively want to bring detrimental perks in order to have fun" territory. So with that issue fixed, it's not like Glory is a meta-contender now. Fairly far from; it's still hard to argue it's anything above high C, at most low B tier.
The investment to activate it is just too steep. Running around searching for and looting two chests takes ages, and sometimes isn't possible altogether because it's too risky to go for a chest with the killer around (especially the basement chest of course), let alone while injured. The items you find are regularly nowhere near worth that time investment either, particularly of course considering that you can only carry one item at a time, and that ideally you would want to bring an item into the round to begin with. There are only 3 chests on the map, so at most you can activate the perk one time, and only if nobody else has looted 2 chests themselves. Sure, you can bring perks and offerings to change some of these things (Shiny Coin, Plunderer's Instinct, Appraisal, Ace In The Hole, …), but then you are spending even more precious slots on things that in and of themselves are really suboptimal choices, forgoing good stuff, and the issue that you can only hold one item at a time and that that item ideally is one you brought into the trial from the get-go doesn't disappear.
And then beyond the activation investment, the effect is not that crazy either: Surviving 60 seconds in a chase while injured is not easy for a lot of players, and against an even just competent killer player it isn't easy for anyone, particularly of course if they are playing one of the numerous killers with potent chase abilities. Not to mention that instadown abilities/add-ons/perks completely circumvent this. Healing passively if the killer leaves you after hitting you or after you get unhooked or healed up off the ground is neat because it saves some time, but in the latter two scenarios there is another survivor there that could have simply healed you instead without it taking too much time. It is nice that you can go and hide after getting unhooked and passively heal, but then if the killer is far enough away such that you aren't immediately caught up in a chase, you'd regularly be better off using Inner Strength and hiding in a locker after that unhook, which is a more reliable means of healing in general as well. And if you are getting tunnelled, you might just end up getting put into Deep Wound, where all Glory will then do is mend you.
Given all that, I do think Glory deserves a buff or another. What would instantly make it much more relevant I think is if they were to reduce its activation condition to 1 loot/rummage interaction. Now you aren't forced to bring a Shiny Coin and/or Appraisal to be able to activate the perk multiple times, multiple survivors using the perk aren't as extremely at odds with each other, and the time to activate it is technically halved. Only having to loot one chest per activation also means you aren't always forced to leave an item behind. And if you do bring Shiny Coin or Appraisal, it even gets to be a fairly reliable means of healing. If they were to reduce the time-to-heal to 45 seconds on top of that, we would probably start seeing a lot more looting. They could also simply cut the timer down to 30 seconds, keeping the current activation condition.
I would also want for the Broken status to be removed such that you can heal by other means if you want to, saving your Glory for when you really need it, as well as making it more surreptitious in chase as opposed to immediately telling the killer that you will be healthy again if they can't down you.
Wow, i completely missed this, thanks for sharing!
This is how i wish the perk worked since it's launch -

Absolutely fine to have a preference.
But it's also right to incentivise players to play both roles. It's better for the player to learn how both roles work, and better for the game as a whole to have players equitably distributed between the roles.
And if that means those with a completionist attitude feel forced into playing a role they don't like, I think that's just a price you have to accept.
By it's very nature, if you're only playing half the game, you're not going to complete everything that's available. So you shouldn't get upset that the half you've chosen not to play (for whatever reason valid or not) stays uncompleted.
I wouldn't call it "right", but necessary.
-
I never wanted to try that strategy so she was trash to me. Condemned was simply irrelevant when you play for hooks, and more notably the TV cooldowns were far longer.
-
No, it's fine to have preference over which role you want to play.
-
I call it the dractop
-
Woah! Was not expecting this. Have greatly appreciated his communications over the past few years. I wonder what his new job is?

Well, it still works with FTP…
Wouldn't just increased CD do the trick? I would be fine with 45 seconds, or even 60.FTP and made for this do not work together
-
Because it was punishing killers that left a survivor in the dying state for 6 seconds. In combination with MFT, it was ftp buckle up over again.
-
It's decent on dracula. You can shapeshift before using it, after a hook you could shapeshift to bat, use it and then teleport to make a lot of distance quickly.
