People tend to forget that killers get to play ALL the match, while survivors might die 2 or 3 minutes in. this makes it awful for the other survivors to play and the dead survivors might have to wait for a friend still playing the match, which is not fun. i get that killers have their fair share of problems, but that's more on the mmr and the core of the game than on the survivors. you could say the same for the survivor side and their problems, but killer's have far more power on the survivor experience than what some people think and if these people played with fairness in mind, instead of trying to win at all costs, maybe they wouldn't focus so much on the matches they lose because of a skill issue and they could have fun playing like a normal person.
Yeah killers can hold us hostage, slug us, torture us, hump us and they are still whining here, thanks to them they are changing maps, spawn rules, going next prevention
-
@CrypticGirl said:
At the very least, they should hold off the go-next prevention until phase 2, and move up the anti-tunnel/camp/slug stuff to phase 1. There should be less giving up with those measures in place. Or if "going next" is still rampant, this will at least narrow down the reasons.
Very true my dear, makes no sense to add go next prevention when those dirty playstyles exists, plus cheaters and vpn-ing killers ruins my fun

I'll bite.
How does the game grow because of visible MMR? What growth is it that we're hoping to get from showing people where they sit in the matchmaker?
Just say that your exploiting mmr to sit in low mmr so you don't want to see it
-
MMR SHOULD BE VISIBLE AFTER A MATCH, SO NONE DODGE, END OF IT NO NEED TO ARGUE HERE, WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS A FAKE PROBLEM THATS HOLD THE GAME FROM GROWING
-
@PleaseRewind said:
I'm all for them working out ways to reduce people just going next but I'm against any system that try to interpret your intentions and slaps a penalty on you if it thinks you are doing wrong. I think a good case in point is survivors getting hit with a penalty when hackers get in an kill everyone right at the start.
Hopefully it will be a case of you need to do it a certain amount of times in a row for it to trigger. That way it will be less likely to impact innocent players.
Exactly I forgot to mention cheaters too, I don't wanna play against cheating killer too and I just go next and if it's punishes me then I only play killer then
-
@SoGo said:
Abusing bugs and ping, that's a good reason to avoid the match. But it sometimes happens unintentionally.
Map offerings are getting nerfed so...
Tunneling is also getting nerfed in Phase 2.
I don't get the doom and gloom around these changes, especially now, since we don't even know what will they do.
The Anti-Go-Next change will be an improvement, imo. I hate that people can just throw a hissy fit the second something doesn't go their way AND get away unpunished.
@Feneroe said:
With how many games I've seen thrown by a survivor throwing a hissy fit over literally nothing and going next to the ruin of the match for everybody else, it absolutely should exist.
It's better to just improve the surrender optionand that's it, all these punishments are not needed, because such a harsh punishment will make the role of a survivor unattractive and the player base will decrease, don't forget that dbd is a semi-casual game and you are turning it into some kind of e-sport with a ton of punishments (like dc penalty being few days if someone dc-ed a lot)
-
@UndeddJester said:
Surrender options are awful, you only have to look at a game like League of Legends to see why they suck.
Doesn't matter which side you're on, if you add surrender options what ends up happening is you very rarely play a game out. 90% of games results in either your side quitting, or the opponents quitting.
It makes it feel like you never actually win a game, cause the only experiences you tend to have are losing, or your opponent quitting.
Not to be a jerk, but while reading this list, it basically means "reasons I should be allowed to quit and go next". To answer each point: -
- Poor server connection goes both ways, and can affect anyone. Killer can get robbed of hits due to grabs and weirdness at vaults, and also from aim dressing messing up due to dodgy connections. So both sides are affected by this, and just cause one survivors connection is bad is no reason Survivors should be allowed to go next and throw the game for the rest of their team.
- Fair enough, but this is a legitimate issue to be addressed, just falling back to "let us go next" is not a solution.
- Bugs are bugs, and again appear for both sides, such as survivors hiding in walls or lockers. Severely agregious bugs result in killswitches, as has occured for many killers. There is no reason Survivors should be allowed to go next and throw the game for the rest of their team because of a minor bug.
- If a survivor has been tunneled out, what have survivors been doing to not get at least 2 or 3 gens done? Unless someone has literally been unhooking them within 20s repeatedly and feeding them to the killer. What if the Killer was allowed to just go next when survivors take 4 gens for 1 hook? Would that be fine? We're in the same scenario as described above where neither side will get to experience a win most of the time.
- Not seen any communications this is being targeted. The fact the 4%, and missing 2 skillchecks to die haven't been toted for removal indicates this isn't a thing. Trying to unhook yourself when there is one player left, and if you fail dying since that player likely can't save you is perfectly reasonable... when else would either feature be used if they're not gonna be removed?
- Same applies for both sides again, and survivors are far more common for taking map offerings to abuse strong main buildings or certain perk combos to make things difficult for the killer. Why should a survivor be allowed to Go Next and throw the game when the only reason map offerings are used is because otherwise these builds often don't/barely function? Is it OK for the killer to immediately Go Next because its Garden of Joy, Mount Ormond of Eyrie of Crows? Map offerings are also being nerfed considerably, so this makes no sense as an argument.
As I say, not being jerk, but there seems an awful lot of double standard here, and I don't joke about surrender ruining games. Yes DBD has extreme highs and extreme lows... but if you want to become completely apathetic about the whole thing, allow 90% of your games to end in surrender and see if you still care to play.
The surrender option when the whole team is slugged is reasonable, but any more than that should be added with great trepidation.
the post looks like a prison warden :)

The whole "Go next" thing is just a bad idea to begin with. It doesnt fix anything but puts player into situations they clearly dont want to play out (and i am not talking about those pity people that kill themself for no reason). Bhvr need to realize that they have to fix the underlying issues and not just some pseudo-issue.
So true my dear, those upcoming changes only killer sided and it feels prison condition for survivors - like you have to play that match no matter or you will be punished

Right now I have the same problem and bp bonus for survs either

Play with a 4 stack or just dont play apparantley.So true my dear, 2v8 is the best and balanced mode for me, all thanks basekit breaks (it should be often too since only runner can use it more), teleporting hooks😉

Next month maybe? Check youtube schmukl I don't remember exactly what's his name

crouch "tech" is fine and skilled play against already broken killers like Blight/Billy, demo can be op too especially against solos since he was buffed too

This should happen!
Currently, when I cap out, I use an auto clicker on the bloodweb, then go eat some food, hit on celebrities, or empty my bowels, all of which are better than sitting there to spend those points.
In mobile dbd there was a function to quickly spend bp points on one web of bloodweb without see buying animation right away, while it buys all items ignoring closures from the entity (which is also good for quickly running out of bps)

You haven't answered how this would improve anything or be significant other than satisfying curiosity.
If you think that this will be abused, then you are wrong, let them at least turn on the visibility of mmr and then we will see how this will affect the game. Or devs can generally open for us a new tab with the history of the match (like in mobile and check mmr there, but only after the match, so that before the match no one chooses a lobby with low mmr

BHVR wont allow us to see where we stand individually because the makeup of this community is soft blue haired introverts and they don't want them to have their feelings hurt.
As I said before, players like the commentators above who have a negative attitude towards the visible MMR do not allow the game to grow, because of them the game slows down in development, but the gaming business is not a stable economy of some country but a constantly progressing business

They listen to a select group of players we don't know the full identities of, which is their player consultants. Becuase we don't know their full identities we can't make assumptions about who they are - the only one I know specifically of is that Hens was part of the program, but he 50/50s both roles, so Oputeeva claiming its just this inner circle of Killer mains is completely unfounded.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3873859#Comment_3873859
If a player has a 40% winrate, they should be in whatever MMR they were in prior to getting that winrate. If a player is losing the vast majority of their games, they should be losing MMR. So my question is this - how is a 15% winrate player staying in high mmr, exactly?
you still won't leave me alone I see, God, how you love to argue and always make yourself out to be right... and yes, MMR brackets exist, that's why if I escape once in 10 matches I immediately return to high MMR and all this repeats again

bro just run to the window or loop for 10-15 seconds knight is more likely to be a little annoying than strong but this is only because the guards do not pose a real threat and therefore he really needs buffs guards, at least do something against the non-potato survivors
buffing even more the killer that all the survivors hate would be a big mistake
-
He is already broken against solo survivors, and strong slugger. He needs a bit nerfs not a buffs

First of all, dang. I didn't expect to see fighting going on in this post. And second, BHVR already listens to the top players only. As for people that would want to smurf, they already made a safety net so you can't go from very high mmr to high mmr and etc. The only way they can smurf, is through making a new account.
I agree, they listen to top players who are mostly killer mains, I see more posts here from sweaty killer mains, who deep down just dream that the survivors were nerfed even further. And yes, I agree with the MMRs brackets, since I 100% sit in a high-medium MMR where the chance of escape is terribly low (soloq), because of killers with a strong build and dirty tactics! Those who write that escape rate is 40%, they sit in a low-mid MMR or always play in SWF
-
True, but every 30s plus endurance 10s (endurance only if 2-3 survs slugged)

Aren't you the person the other day that was talking about how your escape rate is 10-15%? Surely if you're done with the rift you could dedicate some time to creating some feedback pathways for yourself - VOD reviews if you can record games, hell even just writing down something you did well and something to improve upon every match would be something for you to get on with.
Why should I waste my time recording every match? I've completed the rift and the first tome of Chaos Shuffle because I like completing challenges/tomes and getting rewards for them! And yes, I stand by my point that the escape rate is very low as a solo survivor. It would have been better to support OP's post and not continue arguing with us on this thread because most people want to see MMR, a typical killer main who wants the game not to grow...

We got questions now
1: how would showing your MMR number be a significant change?
2: What/how does showing this number compare to giving basekit unbreakable, which would be a significant change.
3: How is it necessary? Like at all?
4: How would being a main to one side disprove certain facts like people would absolutely abuse things?
thanks to old whiners like you, the game doesn't get the changes it deserves, because of this the player base is still stuck in one place and doesn't grow (there is nothing else to do in the game after completing the rift), because the developers know that you won't give them any peace if they introduce something that changes the game, especially when it comes to survivors

This is not a %$#^post in all seriousness, I really do want to see how good the folks are I'm playing with. If survivors can run pallet to pallet with ez loops and W-key from one side of the level to the other, I'm interested to see those scores. I expect to lose to really solid survivors who can loop, hide, sabo, etc.
I agree it should be visible at least per month when our grade resets

Most of the time, knowing your blood type is pointless. It's mostly just to know. Seeking knowledge isn't a bad thing.
the dbd community is always unhappy when such significant updates happen, thanks to them (and mostly these are sweaty killer mains here) survivors can't get basekit unbreakable and knowing this they abuse it with slug gaming from the start! So showing mmr is necessary, stop creating fake problems the game needs significant changes, everything is so boring and monotonous now!

Too much work, they should allow us get our mmr through their website in a readable form at least per month!

True I wanna see it too after a match at least!

I'm just gonna address both at once, rather than making two posts.
- A 4 man lobby all with unique picks would ban out over half the roster. Words cannot describe the damage this would do to the game's queue times which already struggle during events like 2v8.
- We know the escape rates hover ~40% both for SoloQ and SWF. So 4/10 matches.
No it's barelty 10-15% escape rate, I play at mid-high mmr and all I face sweaty killers who plays dirty
While as a killer I lose 1 match to a good survs and then 2 after that so it's pretty balanced
-
I still have the skin available for purchase, I also have the Ukraine region, please fix

if you want to kill the game this would be a perfect way to do so
Game won't die there is no such games like dbd, so don't waste your time to proving it, ban list is a healthy addition to dbd or killer repeat prevention
-
I mean if bot are correctly coded (especially killer bots) then why not? But they should be more often in event modes/modifiers/2v8 so we won't have wait for too long
-
@Adrien said:
Ok you hate tunnneling, but there is hard tunneling to get a sacrifice ASAP (at 3 hook stages) and tunneling a survivor when there is one gen left when the killer needs to confirm a kill before the end game to maximize their chance to win.
Basically your suggestion also punish killers that played chill/struggled during the early game and just try to get a bit of results later in the trial.
Dear there is an mmr system, even if you lose a match without tunneling next match will easy survs and you can win, while as a solo survivor you barely escape literally it's 1 out 10 match
-
I agree with you dear OP, tunneling should not exist, make our hooks teleport like from 2v8
-
@Brimp said:
You remove tunneling then people shift to slugging. You then remove slugging then you only get nurses, blights or billies or no killers at all.
Then we should have a list to ban 5 killers too so you all start to play with normal killers and actually get better with A/B/C tier killer

I would not even bother to reply tbh since there is already like 1 million of these same post, its pathetic.

The only thing you hear is her gearing up for an ambush by then it's too late it's not fair at all that you can break chase from her but you really didn't because she can crouch and follow you and say goodbye to hiding behind a wall that part you can't counter the only way you can even try is to use distortion but now you only get one token to play with until she chases you
So true, killers aura addons are way too good, killer mains just don't get it, it's literally hand holding!
-
Not every swfs is a top tier, most of them just chill, stop ruining the game for surv mains just because you main a certain killer and won't live without 4k, game is already killer sided no need to make it even more one sided!

It took half a year by my count to nerf MFT despite complaints about it from the start. It took 11 months to nerf Buckle the People as a meta combo. It took a year to nerf Circle of Healing. It took years to finally address Adrenaline.
BHVR does not nerf only Survivor things instantly, and it's not just tilted Killer Mains gaslighting anyone. In fact I see both sides here try to gatekeep and gaslight, a lot - you just don't notice it or you forgive it when your side does it. I understand that temptation, I have to remind myself that not everything other Killer Mains say is valid, too.
But please adjust your attitude about this game, and realize most people here play both sides. All your posts I have seen today have been needlessly aggressive, look like they are baiting, or imply that BHVR just doesn;t care about one side of the game. And I genuinely don't see the need for such aggression when not a soul here has attacked you tonight whatsoever. Is something wrong in your personal life that you'd like to chat about that is making you behave this way? Are you doing alright?
If you truly feel this game is so problematic and unfun, why continue to play? Why ask for everyone else to have a worse time to make yourself have a good time?
You still won't leave me alone honestly, stop mentioning in every post as a stalker. I expressed my opinion and there is no bait here. I am mostly on the side of survivors since they are almost not buffed (especially solos like me) and their "good" stuff being gutted almost next day thanks to killer mains and I'm not talking about 2022 or 2023 it's all started last year, devs only buff killers and their builds

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3866983#Comment_3866983
Several Killer things have been nerfed in the past year or Survivor things added to counter. Skull Merchant, Chucky, all strong generator perks, certain combinations like Weave+Franklins that caused issues, Midwich the most Killer sided map was reworked, perks to counter certain Killer strategies, etc.
There's also the fact an anti 3gen was added, 10 extra hook seconds, much needed AFC, many niche perks to combat certain playstyles, etc. It simply isn't accurate that Survivors have gotten nothing but nerfs, and Killers nothing but buffs, friend. :)these are just tiny buffs (for they are QoL not buffs) to survivors killers get much bigger buffs
-
@buggybug said:
I mean if they fixed fast vaults and remove medium vaults in the first place, they wouldnt have to bring a niche perk like finesse .
Like why is ok for killers to have op perk combos but even niche situational one on survivor is qq. Seriously whats next nerf inner strength?
If you hate lithe run some of the anti exhaustion perks Killers already has the best base perk in the game vpn abusing and garbage internet to get undeserved hits.
Im fully agree dear, especially with high ping they can hit from miles that's why finesse is good against that, and yeah they can run exhaustion perks/addons too as counter, but they won't cuz all they can run is pain res/dms/pop/corrupt/deadlock so survivors won't repair gens like at all because killers can't lose like money on the line

When you see every map rework make the map smaller, every roadmap littered with killer buffs or ""reworks"" and nothing but crumbs for survivors, when you look at the lopsided kill rates, when you notice many of your matches feature people going next then you must understand that this game is killer simp simulator.
Its not going to change any time soon.
So true my dear, I thought they would have decreased mending timer so it won't take ages so legion won't abuse it by constantly making us mend or deathlinger...
