As written above, opening the Gates affects the Emblem. This got changed a while back when they changed Ruin. In exchange, the first Gens being done dont hurt the Emblem that much.
So yeah, if you dont open the Gates, you will get a better Lightbringer.
LOL it makes no sense. I just want more points, and that's it. If it punishes killers themselves, why give killers the ability to open the gate themselves (Besides blood warden)?

Were the Gates open?
As spirit i opened the gate myself. All gens are done. For huntress i think someone opened it, but eventually get caught.
Does it affect the emblem?

I fear nothing...
But that thing...
(Insert picture with 4 P3 claudette with flashlight and burns oni map offering)
It scares me

I think some of the issue is folks perception of a "win". If you go in expecting a 4k every time, it is going to be disappointing but really if you have a high score, win, got silver or better emblems, win, killed 2 survs, win. Had a positive post game chat regardless of in game stats, win. If I leave with ruthless killer or above at the end I consider it a win.
Survivor same strory, did you pop 2 gens, get all the totems, engage in some good chases, save a team mate? There are a lot of metrics to look at to feel good about a match. Not just escape or not.
True. But when i play killer, i expect to lose with 4 escapes, so i have nothing more to lose :)

When you get used to a killer using a certain add-on, they feel bad to play without it. Example is that I use cooldown on Plague and the shorter phase activation charge on Spirit. I don’t believe either Plague or Spirit NEED add-ons to be viable but I hate playing without those two add-ons.
I don’t play or like Billy but I hope he gets his bugs fixed soon and gets an add-on rework soon as well.
One of the problems of majority of the killer's add-ons, which is affecting muscle memory.

Well she isn't considered one of the strongest killers (A tier) for nothing. Her base is really good if you can aim/predict really well with her. She has some major limits like map dependance but even that can be worked around. People do well with killers like clown even on red ranks (since they're littered with potatoes) so I think you're more then fine.
I do better with legion than huntress in red rank lol.
But i main legion to certain degree.. so i guess that's normal
-
If you give up at winning, you can have pretty fun game as killer~
However, that doesn't mean you don't want to win at all. Just don't expect to win when playing killer.

Huntress is probably the least add-on dependent killer in the entire game. She’s one of the better killers that can dominate if the player is good with Huntress.
She’s only good if you’re comfortable with Huntress. You have to get used to her before you start playing her well. Probably the hardest killer to learn besides Nurse. It’s easier if you’re used to FPS games.
I thought freddy is the least add-on dependent killer? As he doesn't have good add-ons to begin with..

Watch this guy, he's super good and usually plays at rank 1 with no add-ons.
I just watched him stream for 2 matches at rank 1 (1 no add-ons, 1 with 2 yellow add-ons).. he got decimated in both matches with only getting 3 hooks..
To be honest i feel bad for him lol
-
i mean, i send a gg every match regardless results. But usually i only receive a gg back when they won the match.. if they lose, no response and all kinds of salts..

I find the challenges fun and gives me a goal other than just survive or kill. Actually it has caused me to use some perks and strategies that I never would have used before. I have learned a lot about the game because of them.
Sadly the challenges don't make me come back to the game. I'm still at T2 rift after all this time..
Probably gonna stay away from it for another months or so..
-
Is it in-game option or you still need yo edit the engine?
-
I don't want to complain about DS but..
It's goddamn awful to get hit by DS even without tunnelling.
-
Personally i don't look at the lobby at all when i play killer. I don't care what they bring. I hit ready and go to youtube to watching videos until the game is loaded :)
But sometimes it does cost me the game because i didn't see keys in game.
-
I'm gonna slug if i play 1 shot killers. If not, i'll depip (Especially plague)
-
Rank 1 killer, but rank 20 huntress :)
I think i'm gonna play as her only for the rift. She's just not my type of killer.
-
Not only that, i can't tier up as myers if i stalk one survivor continuously from 0 to 100% stalk. The moment i release the stalk, it tiers up to t2.
Also, my stalking progress regress the more i continuously stalk a survivor. Ex: stalk for 2 secs, 0.4 sec of stalking progress is regressed. It makes me extremely hard to 99% my power. Also, survivors stalk doesn't replenish even if i lose my progress
-
Whether the game got to 2 survivors with 2 gens left, or 3 survivors with 1 gen left, the game is basically over for me as killer. 9/10 they're gonna get a key to escape. I can do nothing to counter it. Literally nothing.
-
Well.. i guess it's free Stridor.

This bong is an old one though, it was changed to ...... Bingbong from bing...bong for balance reasons
It should be a bug. If this is intentional, they have made wraith more unviable.
I think so because i play on basekit, and the faster alert with first bell gives survivors more head start than before. I can't hide behind walls and unclock halfway before revealing my location.

@DelsKibara said:
Actually according to BHVR, that is the emblem system working correctly.
Two Survivors died while the other two escaped, and you got a safety pip as a result.
The match ended with a tie meaning you faced Survivors who were of equal skill to you as a killer.
Of course, not like Rank is going to mean anything anymore once the MMR system is introduced. I suggest just not worrying about pipping and try to have fun ^^ Because worrying about getting a pip tend to make you play worse because you feel like you have to satisfy the requirements to pip.
From the picture, i think both dead survivors are black-pip and those who escape pip.
Just a question, if they are a team, shouldn't the overall rank change to be zero? The team is not winning, but overall they pip because no one depip.

You said it man. I would say slow Freddy is boring but makes the game feel like I’m back in brown/yellow ranks. Just waiting for that killer to come and smack me up. Especially when I get close to popping that gen. He’s not the worst killer. At least he has mobility. I would agree that waking up is pointless unless he’s slowing down the game. I like it better in dream state. I can see him coming.
You know they nerfed his dream slowdown to non-existence few patches ago, right? Those add-ons are now even worse than thana. Generally, all his add-ons suck.
-
Are those pallet all really strong pallet like jungle gyms?
Btw i still see very strong chain tiles in father campbell's chapel. I had a match where survivor can chain killer shack into jungle gym into 2 really safe tiles (a pallet in between 2 long straight structures) into TL and into the main building. The tiles are so close that they can always find another tiles to loop even if they messed up in 1 tile without getting hit.
I don't know if they changed this map or not, but it felt really bad seeing these kind of maps.
-
They just killed legion further more with vault bug, in the same patch where they fixed survivor's vault bug..

Personally as a Killer, I just kill the third guy. If the fourth survivor gets away via the Hatch because I don't know where it is or because it is too far away for me to get to it, so be it. I find slugging incredibly cheap the same way I view tunneling and camping so I don't do it to survivors since I don't like it being done to me when I'm a survivor.
I'm also kill the 3rd one like you because i want to end the game faster.
I'm just saying that if you can get 3k, then you only need little effort to get your 4k. This is not the killer's fault, but the game itself.
In conclusion, if the killer is nice, he'll give last survivor a chance to survive. If the killer want to do his objective and win completely, he'll slug. So basically 3k only happens when the killer is nice.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
You said it yourself; it's boring
Especially killers who do it when there are only two people left since usually that means the slugged gets to sit there for four minutes waiting for the timer to run out.
You really need to blame the game for this IMO, not the killer. There's absolutely no benefit for the killer to kill the 3rd survivors. If anything, it simply gives the chance for last one to escape.
If they want to address this issue, they need to implement a new mechanic like EGC.

I tend to play more with SWF now because i have potato's for fingers that choose to either 1. farm me in front of the killers face, 2. self care near a hook I'm on whilst i struggle and end up dyin because they're self carin on sloppy butcher instead of actually unhookin, and gettin heals the sensible way 3. players urban evasion round the map doin sweet f all, 4. hidin in lockers, the list goes on, but i would be here until the next mornin so I'll leave it at that
Lol speaking of bad solo experience, last time i was the first being chased, and eventually 1 hooked with kindred on, while the killer was miles away.
I don't play much survivor after the update simply because the queue time is too damn long.

You know there is a counter for NOED. If keep seeing it, maybe you should focus on doing totems. Is there a counter for SWF getting information on all the Killer's movements with OoO. Nope.
I agree there is no valid counter to OoO.
Chase the OoO user? He probably is the best looper among all and gonna waste a lot of time while others pumping the gens.
Tunnel him? DS comes into play. Slug him? Unbreakable.
Leave him alone? Free information about everything you do while pumping the gen himself.
The only counter is be a stealth killer. But for other killers? I don't know.
-
Just wondering, if the killer tunnels, camps and mori, how is he gonna rank up and stay in red rank?
FYI i was called a rank 1 camper tunneller, but i got all iri in emblem and 0 in proximity.

I only like the red hair spirit. Once i get it, i'm done.

Problem is the perk combination is a viable and rewarding option for any killer and not just Freddy.
As a rank 1 killer who regularly plays predominately Freddy, Ghostface, Dr and occasionally spirit I will play thana, pop, bbq and dying purely because it's a strong combination to apply pressure and slow gen speeds. Swing chains, I rarely use on Freddy mostly because they never appear in the blood webs and secondly I prefer fake pallets so adding another add-on which strengthens that ability such as blindness works well.
Finally i found someone who prefers fake pallet than snares like me :)
Last night i got so much value for placing a fake pallet at jungle gym. It's funny to watch survivors camp the fake pallet.
-
From my experience, i don't see why so many people complaining about dead zone. I didn't see any in my 15 matches as killer in red rank.
I say this because most of the time i only get down when they're looping, not some empty space (Unless survivors used all pallets in that area)
To be honest.. i don't feel any change made in this patch. Map size, tile distance, gen speed, etc.. nothing except god loop

Game sense isnt the issue dude, dont be toxic lol. If every game the first hook also means a gen is done every game, that's a problem. And I don't personally care if it wasn't the main focus, the nerfs didnt do enough and need too be harder.
In my match, 9/10 a gen will be done when i get 1 hook, no matter how fast i hook someone. (Rank 1 killer btw)
There is one game where i hooked someone at 30-40 secs, and 1 gen is still done. i was playing as doctor, and i spent first 10 secs to see whispers and use the blast. By the time i hooked someone, the power charge still haven't reached the halfway, like 1/3 of total, and the gen is done. This is in lerys.
So.. i totally not feeling the change to gen speed.
-
Honestly, i don't feel the difference at all.
For map change, aside from god loop removal, i can't really tell what has changed if i don't read the patch notes. Some maps are still to large, and i haven't seen any deadzone people complained about.
For gen speed change, yes i can probably reach the survivor before 1 gen done. However, it's still almost done if you play the 115% killer. Also, 9/10 1 gen is done when i get 1 hook, no matter how fast i end chase (i have hooked someone in under 30 secs but 1 gen is still done)
The only thing i'm happy with is the breakable animation. Ghostface breaking animation feels pretty powerful, unlike how he breaks the pallet LOL
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Because it is a bad system and they want to continue it, despite being a bad system? Just guessing.
At this rate, i wonder if they'll board up all the openings with the breakable wall, and add the window next to it lol.
Brutal strength is gonna be meta

While I agree with you on the Hellshire Iron there is absolutely no reason a RANGED killer should get instadowns without some insane requirements. Iri Head Huntress is in need of a nerf because there are no requirements other than hit with a hatchet. Which you can get pretty easily.
Then don't forcefully make an add-on that gives you instadown. This add-on is practically useless, and i don't mind to change it to another complete different add-on.
About huntress instadown, it's only unbalanced when paired with +2 hatchet. If they make the hatchet cap at 1 at all cases, it's balanced IMO.
-
If i see they start Tbag immediately in the match, i'll DC immediately. I don't care about the penalty. I would rather take the penalty than getting bullied and get mental depression for a week :)
But seriously, so far i didn't see any of these survivors lol, and most of the time i just play normally like i always do.
-
When i play freddy, i don't really spam snares. If anything, i use his traps like hag or trapper.
And also, you need to be really good with m1 killer to do well with him, especially with pallet freddy, where most of the time your power doesn't come into play.
Personally i prefer fake pallet than snares lol. You just put them down, and chase survivors with pure m1 skill.
-
They should just add the removed collision for stalking killers. Problem solved.
-
I... would make my judgement after the update comes out..
Who knows what they'll change from PTB to live.

I really think dbd mobile’s controls need a tuneup. The game looks great, but it is majorly lacking in some of the current ways to bring control to mobile. For example, not having the movement stick detect your left thumb everywhere on the left side of the screen, being unable to customize where the buttons are, and most importantly not being to aim with the killer’s lunge/attack button.
Would love to make a post about this, but I don’t know where it should go.
They should just add a left and right slider to killer's lunge button to control the camera. Problem fixed :)

I feel like I lied to myself and to everyone else in my past posts about how much I love the game and how much I will keep playing. I said I won't stop playing this game. And yes, I won't, except... I feel so burned out. I decided to take a small one day break from Dead by Daylight and I instantly lost majority of my motivation to play.
And no, it's not because of the players, the bugs, or anything, I just don't want to play recently. But I still love the game. I still love the developers. I still would spend money on it... But I feel like I can only get back to it when the next update comes.
Just a piece of advice from myself: If you are a person like me who loves video games and has a favorite game but is easily burned out of any game, even their favorite one, please do not stop playing daily. Every day you start to use your computer, make sure the first game you play is your favorite one. I stopped because I wanted to take a one day break, and now I'm struggling to find the motivation to launch the game and play it again, even if my friends have been calling me over and over to come and play.
I hope I get my motivation back in the next update.
Lol that's a strange way to prevent burn-out. But i don't think you should force yourself to play the game even if you don't want to just to preserve your motivation. It's kind of unhealthy imo.
And, the next update is just one day away so... you'll get back to the game almost immediately.. unlike me
I stopped playing weeks ago, and i don't think i'll hang around for long even with new update...

As I said OmegaXII, we all have our opinions. However, I do agree that the Pig is good. Actually, I have heard this through the discussion before: "The killer doesn't make the player good, the player makes the killer good." So technically, the way I play Legion or Pig (even if survivors repair gens rather than healing) and the perks I use can make either really powerful or horrible. And I say that with every killer.
Of course.. if you have the skill, you can make every killer powerful, especially with right build.
But.. if you max your skill at every killer, some are going to do better than others. That's why tier list exists. Max skill nurse, billy or spirit is much more terrifying than legion or clown.
PS: I'm red rank legion that plays with no add-ons, and.. while i did well in most of the game, i don't think he ever comes close to the level of overpower. If anything, he actually needs some buff. He shouldn't have 4 secs stun and power drain on hit.
-
He's not op at all. He's practically M1 killer if survivors decide to do gens instead of self-caring in corner..
But i won't blame you for thinking like that, because i have seen countless red rank survivors self-caring in corner LOL
In case of best slowdown, pig is the best IMO.

Going up against people that are better than you is pretty much the best way to get better. As long as you're open minded, reviewing your gameplay, identifying what you could do to improve, and actively trying to implement those improvements; then you're going to learn more from losses than wins.
However, if you're also trying to win or enjoy yourself in addition to getting better, then I can understand the frustration. But as far as getting better alone is concerned, that's almost the perfect environment.
If you just get absolutely destroyed in 4 mins, you'll not learn anything asides frustration

Yeah, I see your point now and do apologise for reacting harshly.
Since we're already kind of on this topic now, here are my thoughts. Having limitations and not always getting rewarded for those amazing trick shots that are so hard to get is the right call in my opinion. Imagine if those limitations weren't in place - with enough practice people could learn to land those shots consistently, meaning that most map tiles will be certain death for the survivor, which completely erases the interactive part of the chase. Currently, Deathslingers can still pull off amazing shots, but to get rewarded they have to do it under the right conditions. I think that's fair. I know it's a bit discouraging knowing that you can pull off something great, but sometimes there's literally no point in trying. The alternative would be worse if you consider the bigger picture and the match as a whole.
With all that said, I personally consider the deathslinger to be one of the killers with the highest skill cap, so for the average player he will be in the mid tiers. Meanwhile in the hands of people who are great at both FPS games and DBD he's absolutely deadly and up there with billy, nurse and huntress (who are the other high-skill-cap killers in my opinion)
I absolutely agree he's a killer with high skillcap. Maybe we'll see if he really needs some change in upcoming months as people get used to him.
Have a nice day~

Working with the killer is reportable, you gotta have video proof though if anything is gonna really be done about it. I wouldn't say it's normal in solo survivor, but it can happen.
If he has evidence, who will get banned? The killer? Or the survivor?
I'm curious since i don't wanna get banned for it as killer if i encounter those survivors
