as a survivor I also feel like I have to run certain builds too. You mean to tell me you’re looking at the scoreboard at the end of the game and seeing everyone running different perks? I don’t think so. Majority have DS, BT and DH. There are perks that almost seem mandatory to give yourself a better shot at staying in the game. Rather in fact, I think some need a buff Tbh. DS is only a one time use and people still complain about it. It should be more like every time you get off the hook it protects you. Because why should killers get their rehooks that easily? Most of the time I don’t get my 3 hooks because of Mori or Lag that kills me on 2nd stage. It’s unfair a lot of the time and I yet I still hear complaints. From a solo standpoint it’s more often than not a frustrating experience. I wanna have fun too and get heals and experience those heart pounding moments, but killers have learned to get really good at keeping people from playing the game. Think about it from the perspective of one person as opposed to all 4. Idk why this 4K thing is what people expect. But it happens frequently from my perspective. Not everyone is amazing at looping so that means you’re #########? That’s the way the games designed yet you people complain about that when people get good at it. 🤷♂️ It’s rough out here man
survivors don't HAVE to run these perks to live. Survivors run these perks because they're the most OP survivor perks. There are plenty of people not running the standard 4 perks and still very successful.

I think im going to start playing nurse now. I really want Nurses calling as a teachable and I might as well learn her anyways. :p

I think Myers is better for the reasons that have been mentioned here and you can pop his power instantly in a chase (if you have it charged 99%), no power up animation so he has more of a surprise factor with his instadown. Myer's addons are better than Oni imo.
I didn’t know this thank you!!
-
@Peanits said:
Myers is somewhat of a blank slate. You can go super stealthy with things like M&A, or chain multiple downs back to back with Infectious Fright. And of course there's always the old Scratched Mirror. He's simple, but there's a lot of different ways to play him. He's also got some pretty decent perks.
Oni is more of brute force kinda' guy. There's a little less variety to how you can play him when compared to Myers, but if you're looking to zoom around the map and hulk out every once in a while, I'd recommend him. There's definitely a higher ceiling for Oni than there is for Myers.
TL;DR: Depends on what you're after. Myers has different playstyles, Oni lets you go fast and smash. Both are fun in their own ways.
Thanks so much for the response Peanits! I appreciate the help. I like the versatility of Myers but I think I’m gonna go with Oni. I like the look of his skill ceiling as well.

honestly just holding M1 for 2-3 hours can get kind of boring especially if I am not in a swf. I'll play killer so that I can actually have fun running around killing people. I'm only a rank 8 killer (GF Main) and I just like to have fun. Also, farming BP on killer is way quicker and a lot more fun. BBQ stacks baby.
-
as long as sound bugs still exist honestly yeah. Maybe even like 3-4m.
-
5 months is one thing but how many actual hours played? Someone could have 50 hours in 5 months someone could have 500? Just curious as i'm someone who just got into the game about 3 months ago and I have 178 hours played. (according to steam)

Or just rebind q+e on keyboard and mouse and you'll be flicking behind you .

Doc is fine right now. He was trash before and now he's finally viable. You just need to learn how to play against him specifically just like you would any other killer.
-
It's like this anytime a new killer is released. If you're so tired of it why don't you play killer and help out some fellow survivors.
-
I'm honestly pretty good at most of my chases as far as looping and the killer just giving up on me after a while. I think some people like to do gens and get out because they're most likely pipping up. As long as my rank is going up I'm still having fun. I doubt many rank 1's are doing gens and leaving. Its appealing to see progress. Just my opinion though.
-
Ghost Face definitely. Sometimes I just want to be flat out aggressive and run Oni too. Both are lots of fun.
-
I feel like sabo squads only work with petrified oaks. Hooks seem to be too close. If they have iron grasp or agitation its pretty much no chance unless you have your entire team trying to sabo.

Yes, to an extent.
If a perk is required for an archive challenge, it is guaranteed to appear in the shrine at least once between when the challenge becomes available and when the Rift that challenge is tied to ends.
Beyond that, they're selected randomly with a few rules to prevent the same perks from showing up in back to back shrines.
thank you so much for the insight!

@NoFace said:
Nope it's just random. Just have to wait and eventually they'll pop up.

My favorite is when the little SWF are all wearing the exact same skins and then complain about me tunneling? LMFAO like I don't even know which one of you is which. RELAX.
-
The problem is the ranking system. Its way too easy to be rank 1. Rank1 should mean you are in the 1% of the game as far as skill goes. I feel right now there could be a HUGE difference in 2 different people as far as rank 1 goes. Someone like Tru3 or Otz or Goose, they are well above most rank 1 killers. They need to make it harder to get rank 1. If the ranks were more evenly spread out I think it could help matchmaking and also show people you don't need to compare the best of the best to an average player.

I’d put him in D tier
OOoff I didn't think he was that bad. You might be right though.

It's more positioning than anything else. He literally can't do anything if there's a pallet between you in most cases. Drop pallets early and force a chain break.
Sounds good thank you

Spine Chill is a must. If he's running M&A he can sneak up on you and snipe you before you even hear his Terror Radius.
Dead Hard is good all around and can dash through harpoons.
Maybe Resilience, considering you are going to be injured and in Deep Wounds a lot of the time.
Urban Evasion to play sneaky and hide from him all around.
Or you could just run the meta DS, Adrenaline, BT, and Dead Hard and destroy him.
Yeah I was thinking something like Resilience, Spine Chill, Dead Hard, Adrenaline.
-
No Mither Resilience Deadhard and Kindred.

SWF is more of the issue but the game is even unbalanced against 4 "good" solo queue players, SWF just exacerbates the issue even more.
How do you accept the issue but are also confused why they come to the forums to complain? When there's a balance problem with the game people will complain in order to bring it to the devs attention to try and get things fixed. That seems like a pretty normal scenario to me.
"there's so many killers who can just one shot a survivor."
There isn't that many, and most of them have substantial requirements to do so.
"Mori without even hooking them."
I have no idea what you're talking about here, this literally isn't a thing. The only thing allowing this is a DH at 5 token...if the team really left it up for that long they misplayed hard. Not to mention that is an extremely niche scenario that rarely ever happens. This isn't even worth bringing up.
"It's like all killers just expect to get 4 kills easy every game."
I don't get why people like to default to this made up scenario. This is not what anyone is asking for at all. Especially seeing as you already admitted yourself that there are indeed balance issues which makes there complaint valid. How does a valid complaint lead to "killers just expect to get 4 kills easy every game"? I don't see how that is the logical conclusion we come to based on the information we have agreed on here.
"Toxic survivor behaviour begins with the killer...from my POV anyways."
I disagree entirely. You could have zero campers/tunnelers etc and it would still be happening. They play toxic because they are bored with the base game because it is currently too easy as survivor and they're trying to make the game more entertaining. They are able to get away with it because they know they are the power role and have the extra time to goof around because they aren't the ones on the tight time clock, the killer is.

OP complained about people using old ruin and then says devour hope is a good alternative lmfao.
-
The last 3 screenshots weren't so bad. I feel you though the matchmaking sucks.
-
true
-
Don't play a killer just because its meta but play a killer you genuinely have fun with. I use to sweat with billy and doc and it was fun but I got tired of it. Switched to ghost face and bubba and I have a lot more fun with those playstyles.
-
I rarely see facecamping unless its a poor bubba that couldn't get any kills and gets a noed in the EGC and just facecamps his one kill and I honestly do not blame him.
-
50/50
I'd probably play killer more often if it weren't for matchmaking. Killer is so much more fun when the games are good. But when the games aren't good i'd rather just get off. Rank 7 Survivor (Bill) and Rank 9 Killer btw. (GhostFace)

Well, with 2-3k hours and your at least rank 15 or higher? Might not be your game my friend..

Nurse and doctor are the only killers I do not play. I can't stand doctor and I just don't want to put the time in to learn nurse. Don't feel like getting my butt kicked for 100 games lol. But I do like her perks. Even stridor, you only see it on spirit usually but I think it's a great perk on a lot of killers.
haha same. I actually leveled up my Doc for M+A. Haven't even tried Nurse either cause I don't want to put in the time.

Let us know how it works out. Hag has been my main since I started playing. Still love her to this day. I definitely recommend grinding bps to level up nurse. I love all 3 of her perks, thana, nurses, and stridor.
yeah I got thana in the shrine not too long ago but I really need Nurses lol. I don't really like Nurse tbh

Nurses is a nurse perk, I don't think huntress has any perks worth grinding her for lol. Thana can be ok with sloppy imo.
LOL idk why I thought Huntress but I meant to say Nurse! lol but ok I will try it out.
-
@goat10em said:
I have basically run the same build on hag for 2 years now. I have swapped ruin for corrupt when ruin got nerfed. But I just do Corrupt, Sloppy, Nurses, and M&A. with dried cicada or dragonfly and a rope necklette
Unfortunately I don't have Nurses rn. You think Thana would be good until I grind up Huntress or go for something else?
-
@Nurgling7 said:
I like being a sneaky bastard with Hag. M&A, Sloppy, Nurse's Calling, and flex perk(usually Knockout, but Franklin's when items). Use the black skin and she becomes the killers blendette.
Dont really use gen info perks because I tend to pick a side of the map and just secure it. Hag doesnt chase unless its into a trap.
Range addon is a must. I've been getting some terrific milage out of the wreath that reveals auras for 5 seconds. It allows for easy mind games at loops.
Sometimes I'll throw in Dark Devotion when I want to have fun.
thank you for the advice and the link as well!

I really enjoy MYC on hag. If someone goes for a save i hope they trip the trap after the rescue. That way the survivors literally switch places.
actually a nice idea! And its on the shrine this week so I might have to try it!

I love my little Feng Min and all her quirky sounds she makes.
also Ghost Face.
-
OP says killers are more sadistic and objective driven but maybe cause killers only have 1 objective?? Get kills. When you can barely do your only objective, Killer mains will most likely get pissy. Hybrid player btw.
-
Anyone who plays both killer and survivor at purple or higher ranks should easily be able to tell Killers need a buff.
-
I would definitely put Freddy S-Tier. He's brainless and OP. I would prob move Trapper up as well. Overall I agree for the most part.
-
As someone who has recently came back to the game, (about a year off) and starting over from rank 20 survivor and now I just hit rank 7. Id say the only difference is from 13+ ranks. They are noticeably not as good. Green ranks down to purple and then red, the games feel generally the same.
