Finally finished this run!
Sharpened my skills up again for Shadow of the Erdtree, not quite so afraid of it now 😅
Not that you aksed, but kinda riding a high and want to share... Notable moments: -
- Not using Torrent was mostly not too bad... but was really ass at times... looking at you Fire Giant and Consecrated Snow Field... lets get that out of the way... 😑
- Starting spell Flame Sling was good enough was nice for throwing from safety. Requires you to lock on, then unlock and aim up a lot to account for the arc, but you getbused to it... Dropped off by end game, but was great while it lasted.
- Catch Flame (the ER Combustion) is Godlike for a Quelana run... this spell was my bread and butter for so long, and still came up now and again at end game for quick rapid fire damage. Also helped me a lot of a blue phantom.
- O' Flame (ER Greater Combustion) would be excellent... except it has this annoying problem where if you use it immediately after a roll, it will fire in the direction of the roll instead of at your opponent... making it usually useless and you're better off using Catch Flame... the only time it became useful is when someone had a HUGE recovery window.
- Whirl O' Flame (ER Fire Whip) was useless... too much FP, too slow and not enough damage. Almost always a better option.
- Some combination of the above was mostly smooth sailing for anything you'd encounter. Flame Sling for poking at range (Margit, Godrick), Catch Flame for going in when you wanna just starting blasting (Rennala and Radahn).
- Carian Manor was much easier... the hands weakness to fire made that much less painful...
- The Godskins have pretty gnarly fire resistance... they were quite hard. Though strangely the big boy was easier because he couldn't dodge Flame Slings, so I could poke him down. The Godskin duo later was quite obnoxious, butvthabkfullybwe were getting pretty good with it damage output by that point.
- Volcano Manor was fun... Rykard was impossible pretty quick I figured out, mathematically impossible to kill... and I couldn't believe how many fire proof enemies there were... the Fire Slugs I understand... but the lizards, the iron maiden sentinel things, and even the bats in Volcano Manor all took 0 damage... a lot of running in these areas xD
- Giants Flame Take Thee (ER was a real game changer... knockdown on man sized enemies is busted... I literally stun locked Gideon and babombed him to death 🤣🤣🤣
- The Fire Giant was miserable (I really questioned my no Torrent rule)... his first phase was actually fine, I could do a lot of damage to his foot.... but with that weakness gone, his second phase was dire... he has such good fire resistance obv, that it was an insane slow burn taking his health down. My eventual strategy was to have like 3 heals with the rest FP estus, save my fire boosted physik and use the ritual attack and defence at full HP boosts to get the most damage and just had to whittle him down.
- Burn O'Flame (ER Fire Tempest) was actually pretty damn good against large enemies. Placidusax, Fortissax, etc it did great damage quickly.
- Maliketh still has that weird attack where he stands still, leans back with a big swing, then just swings down and misses you... I kept getting it so Catch Flame minced him.
- Mohg was another enemy with monstrous Fire Resistance (80% reduced damage)... I could technically kill him, but I need like 2 helath estus and 12 FP estus... every missed/not fully charged shot was very costly. You could get about 50% extra damage on a headshot, but that was so hard to free aim it was not a viable strategy.... especially in phase 2 where he is diving around splashing blood everywhere... couldn't use the Ritual Talismens strat because of teh random blood Flame crap he leaves in the environment... I had to use my Latenna Spirit in the end to beat him just to have some other source of damage 😖
- Malenia was a GOATED fight as always, she dodges projectiles so Flame Sling and Giants Flame Take Thee was off limits, but Catch Flame and selective O'Flame could counter her and do work. Would you believe Whirl O'Flame was actually useful here? Because she dodges and advances as you throw projectiles, you cant use other projectiles, but with you can Whirl O'Flame she dodges it like a projectile, but because it hangs in the air it hits her as she advances... when you're fishing for Water Fowl, this move made it safe to keep chippi.g her until she threw it. I LoL'd when I realised this crap spell was my saviour vs. MALENIA of all bosses xD
- Godfrey/Horaoh Loux was probably my most fun battle with him on this build. We had great damage, but he's fast with his attacks, but also punishes rolling away, I actually had to grow a pair and just stand and throw Giants Flames with him
- Radagon and Elden Beast we're not as bad as I thought. I feared my damage would be bad as I know Elden Beast has high resistances and between them that's a lot of health. My fears dissipated quickly when I realised I was able to get 2k a hit on Radagon with Giants Flame... and Burn O' Flame was great against Elden Beasts fat rear end too!
You talking about ER got me back to finish this run... so thanking you Radiant... was a lot for fun. Also up yours Mohg... you creep. 😒
Great to read this morning with my coffee. Glad to see you get back into it and have some fun finishing your run. No torrent…that had to be rough, like masochist-level pain for sure. I might have overlooked it in the passages, but did you have a favorite area/boss when you were doing this? Poor Gideon 😂

I mean shes basically an M1 killer with no chase power. As long as a survivor can keep her occupied for 5 gens then she has no pressure and each chase she gets is almost definitely going to cost her a gen because again, M1 killer with no form of game delay until she downs someone
This post makes me scratch my head. Her ambush dash can shut down most loops, check positions that guarantee a hit lands, and can cut chases short. If you're concerned about getting slowdown online early in the game she has an add-on that circumvents needing a down, so I don't get where you get she has no game delay until a down because that's not entirely true. Her recent buff made her crouch speed, transition, and add-ons like grease, JMF, and last will even better, so ambush and crouch speed is not an issue. I'm also pretty sure any killer getting ran for 5 gens will have no pressure, but if you're getting ran for 5 gens that's a skill issue no matter who you're playing.

For real though lol, "they're ruining my game!" While also sitting in the basement for half the match watching people take all the heat
I'm sayin'! lol. There was a similar post a month ago by @Nos37 that basically goes through this. I will post it here to add to the amount of resources currently available on the topic of weaving spiders followed with a thoughtful PSA.
@Nos37 said:
They can SEE my aura in the basement! They know I have the perk.
Why are they kiting the killer to me and/or looping them in the structure above me? Then again... I have seen survivors kite/loop the killer around hooked survivors instead of leading them away.
That said, I have been intentionally griefed because of this perk, and I'm tired of dying with 3,000 bloodpoints and wasting the whole morning filling out griefing reports.
----
Remove the perk's aura and HUD status. I don't care how the perk is changed (buffed, nerfed, reworked). My point is Invocation: Weaving Spiders is the new No Mither and other surviors are more inclined to grief you if you have it.
If you are going to run this perk, do so at your own risk. Know beforehand that you run the risk of inviting griefers in the DBD community to well…grief you. It's because it's a silly perk similar to how No Mither is a silly perk. We are already at a pretty volatile time of ~30% escape rates and many of us can confirm we are somewhere within that number. There are no comms outside of SWF, so please, consider your teammates and how your time is best spent escaping as a team in the trial.

Surge.
Like its okay for M1 Killers but its very map dependent and bit RNG on where you down a Survivor and even when it triggers its nothing huge anyway.
I'd go with this one too. There's other options i'd choose in my build for sure that do the same thing but give more consistent value.

well I mean then literally don’t run invocation and expect your solo queue team mates to be happy solo is already unbearable as it is I don’t blame the team mates for being angry like dude I’m just being realistic
Don't mind folks on their high horses. All you'll get is more pearl clutching. You provided your valid and realistic view on the perk and the dilemma within teams it creates.

Actually, seeing the team's build would fix the issue. As survivors would know and accept what they were in for beforehand. If they are that opposed, they can just leave the lobby, lol.
This is actually bad game design though. A perk shouldn't be so horrible that it pits two players on the same side against each other. It would be like creating a grenade in COD that's colorful and makes cool sounds, but that lowers your teammate's damage output. Yeah you have a right to use it, but your right is negatively impacting your teammates success.
This is the equivalent of someone searching and opening chests for 120+ seconds or booning for 120+ seconds. That person would probably get flamed for not doing gens in endgame chat.
But make no mistake the core issue here is the horrible game design that pits survivors against each other instead of nudging them to work together.
What you've described is the classic phenomena known as the Prisoners Dilemma. Sable's invocation creates that exact situation within a team by pitting teammates against each other by how their time is best spent trying to escape the trial. Hit the nail on the head.

Weakest killer in the game with no real chase power against survivors above 200 hours I fear
Pig the weakest killer in the game? Not by a country mile.
@Topic
Twins i'd say are fair game at the moment seeing as they're reportedly stronger than nurse in PTB which leaves a ? on where they will end up

According to Nightlight, build that you've mentioned gives killer 71.7% killrate, which is 11.7 percentage points above desired 60%, so I think that BHVR should look at this.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZRK15HYCV7YL/image.png
Also what is worth mentioning it's that all build with PR have >60% killrate, some closer to 70%.
love to see it

The forum: Meh, slightly above Twitter. Only really worth visiting to interact with the handsome, intelligent, naturally funny, dashing, straight-shooting, delightful individuals of the Society of Swine, @radiantHero23 @UndeddJester @AbsolutGrndZer0 @Atsuka_Anarchy @Nun_So_Vile and co.
The game: Strictly keeping to the gameplay, meh, not nearly as fun to me as it was in years past. Don't enjoy seeing them cut unique features and inhibiting skill expression. It's gotten too vanilla for my taste and not enough flavor. Like going from Bebop to Bubblegum Pop, ya dig?

The creepy eyes of this mask, those boots and black combats. It's a standard skin set, but this is just perfect, and my default in DBD.
Terminator Skull Merchant
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ROQFUIFNLOXN/18ee96f805c99-screenshoturl.jpg
Say what you will about her... she has some pretty incredible cosmetics... I love the spiteful look in her right eye, combined with the artificial grin of the mask. This fire moon armour cosmetic is just really nice, and I really like the default 2 pronged blade arm.
Jacked O'Lanturn
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/EDEN9POFHPGD/18ee96f063457-screenshoturl.jpg
Evan just looks like a unit, and this pumpkin mask just makes me smile. Machete ofc as a homage to my all time favourite killer Jason.
Noodle Leg No More Wraith
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TC2OIJJQF6UD/18ee96ed12b0-screenshoturl.jpg
This reindeer piece for Wraiths lower legs looks so good with a lot of his cosmetic, cause his legs no longer look scrawny and twig like. The dripping Blight skin looks great, loves the creepy head tilt with the chemical drool spilling down.
Bloody Charlotte
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6ZE1ZLQAD6EY/18ee96e78a019-screenshoturl.jpg
I love how this skin make Charlotte actually look nasty. Most other skins she has comes across as just a large French woman, she mostly looks normal. With this skin Charlotte looks comparable to Victor, and they compliment one another nicely.
Lovely fashion

Same. Amanda could read me bedtime stories and I'd be all for it. Buried somewhere in the many pages of the Pen is the review I wrote immediately after seeing it. Probably for the best it stays buried there. May do another for Saw XI.

I take the opinion that if a story is good, then I'll likely rewatch the film several times and enjoy it just as much knowing the plot in vivid detail.
Unless it's something like Portal or Saw 1, where the twist is literally the entire point, I dont really mind spoilers at all 😁🤘
It's a good movie, but don't go in expecting it to be as much Saw as we know it from some of the other films, but more of a good guy John anti-hero story that includes classic Saw elements. Revenge is also a big part of the story in this one. I'd say more narrative driven and, of course it's Saw so it's gorey, but I don't think it's nearly as gorey as Saw 2 or 3. I've seen more bodily fluids at a Gwar concert.
-
Is this loss?
-
It has this guitar that I can carry around and play Wonderwall and Smoke on the Water. It also makes the weedly weedly sound.
-
Doctor's shock would complement most of the other killers
Pinhead and Pig (Chain hunt while solving jigsaw box sounds like fun time)
Clown and Blight
2 Facecamping Bubbas shaking their head "yes" at each other
Oni and Dredge. Both build their power from an injury. Oni could move unseen during Nighfall and come at you like a raging steam locomotive from out of the darkness.
-
You'd think you'd have insulted 4 generations of their family with how much hell you'll get for using that combo. 😂
I feel like I might as well be throwing when I use it, not because the perk combo is bad or anything, but because when I do I don't see people cranking gennies like they should be. It's like friends, we can't all be running around the map if we want to power the gates...

I still haven't watched Saw X...
I have heard good things about it, but I'm nervous to watch it because I haven't found a reviewer yet who I trust with regards to reviewing the plot... they all say the gore and brutality is way off the charts... but tbe srory is what mattere, and the people who made it were responsible for Saw 3D and beyond, which all annoyed me to high heaven...
I love Saw... I get especially upset when I see a bad Saw film... proper nerd fan fighting back rage tears... 😖
Is Saw X actually solid on the story? Or is it a switch your brain off mindless Saw gorefest? Don't get me wrong... I enjoy a mindless Saw gorefest... as long as it doesn't betray the core message and concept of the Saw films... 😨
👾👾. We made it together my friend.
Do you mind spoilers to the Saw X plot?

Only when I don't have fun. What else would I use it for when I get a 4 slowdown Nurse with Midwich offering and a wall-hack script?
The devs check it as one of their many tools to see trends and get a pulse for if something is experienced by the whole playerbase, or just the vocal users. It only matters for their internal use.
-
Most of the time I'll try to save, but only if it's guaranteed at least one of us make it out alive or can get away and heal up. I just can't give a free kill trying to do risky unhook in good conscience.

No, it has never worked in the past, and it never will
DBD is not designed to be a competitive game, it is a mess of RNG and unbalanced mechanics, and every single time Competitive has been attempted it has just devolved into "Tunnel one guy, pre-drop every pallet, camp in end-game" rinse and repeat, and the massive amount of restrictions just completely neuter any and all soul this game has, this game is designed to be unbalanced on purpose and attempting to make it "competitive" just kills the reason why people play this game, to have fun
Comp DBD is not only a stupid idea in theory, it's a stupid idea in practice, it has never been fun to watch and trying to turn a party game into a competitive sweatfest makes everyone involved look like fools, why people are so obsessed with trying to make it a competitive game when it is the anthesis of competitive AND despite how often the attempts have gone up in flames boggles the mind
Agreed

No, it wouldn't be nice to say gg on console. Nor would it be nice to have to see a chat screen ever on console. Devs, I can speak for the majority of console players when I say we don't want those toxic problems in our house. Keep that foolishness on PC.
