Imagine insulting someone like that for saying something that is fundamentally true.
Literally all you have to do, if you really just want to get it done quick, is cheese it. Hide all game, let your team die, follow the killer as they look for hatch (which they will, and will almost never look behind them as they are looking for it), let them close it, use your key. Literally can be the easiest challenge.
He directly insulted someone without calling them out as well. Obviously he's a coward and should be the one who get's ignored. In addition if he's just here to call people idiots he won't last long either.

Leave Knockout as it is. It is kinda solid to slug people, when they are Solo and does not need a Buff. If they are on SWF - unlucky, but exactly nothing can be done then.
Buffing Knockout in any way would only hurt Solo Survivors. Sure, you can think about something like increased Recovery Time (to be a Counter to the faster Recovery by Unbreakable), but this would be bad game design, since it is "Pressing M1, even longer" again, which is the most unfun thing a Survivor can do.
Most survivors play as a 2 or more swf. I've said what I've said.
-
It would still be too difficult to utilize against strong survivors. I think it's fine how it is already.
-
Hillbilly. I don't know why everyone thinks he's so weak.
-
I just had a game with a twitch streamer, a person asking for me to play Cannibal, a person asking me to bring a Hawkins offering, and a person sarcastically saying these 4 are not SWF.
I went Cannibal, I took the Hawkin's offering. They honestly destroyed me all match, because i'm really not good with Cannibal. Then they gave me 3 kills, on the last gen.
Turns out they were all just running OoO - nothing else.
It was a really fun, meme game, where everyone pip'd.
These. These are the games are the reason I keep going through the mind numbing try hards. These games where you find the single group that is actually playing for fun.

"The minimal amount of time that it would take to frequently do so would allow for consistent feedback, design ideas for underutilized perks, and promote actual discussion (backed by data) regarding problem areas that people are using perks to 'band-aid.'"
This is the idea behind releasing stats, and I absolutely agree with you, and this is why we've tried releasing stats in the past. However, each time it just ends up in a mess. Rather than sparking interesting discussions, they more often or not end up being scrutinized with questions about their validity when the numbers don't match someone's personal experiences. It's an onslaught of, "Does this count? Are you excluding that?", or conclusions being drawn based off of very broad numbers (averages), and it frankly just causes more confusion than it helps.
In a perfect world, I would love to release stats on a regular basis, but it's hard to justify when releasing them only causes more harm than good.
You would have to divide them by region, platform, ranks, and many other variables. Like how much DLC content each account has - if they even have the availability to those perks or how much time they have in the game - if the person even had enough time in the game to get the perks from the Shrine of Secrets, does the users even buy a lot from the Shrine of Secrets of perks that they don't already own.
I really hope the company doesn't just take a blanket statistic of "which perk is used more" and then make balancing changes on that.

Honestly, they're probably not going to give out any more data, at least not in the near future. In the past, people have either ignored the stats, or tried to use them to promote a certain narrative, either about game balance or about the developers or about another player. The kill rate stats are most infamous for this. Arguments around statistics became just a constant stream of "well the stats say this so you're wrong" and "no they don't, you just don't know how to read statistics". It didn't lead to anything productive.
Basically, most of what the stats did was cause contention and confusion. They didn't help people understand things better, they just made them angry because they thought they knew more about what was going on than they actually did. If you've ever heard the expression "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing", that's basically what I'm talking about.
Just to be clear, I would also love to see more stats just for curiosity's sake. I'm just saying don't expect it to happen, because past experiences have made the devs very reluctant to release any more data publicly, and I don't believe there are any plans to do so currently.
The biggest argument I find about the kill stats is that people push the narrative that they are true, but it's been mentioned that those statistic's are greatly skewed for numerous reasons, including; rank, region, platform, Hex: Ruin, other perks, etc, etc, etc.
I would imagine as a development company they are taking more targeted statistics, and balancing around that instead of just an overall "this killer gets this many kills each round - so nerf it", because that would be quite embarrassing.

@Peanits said:
I'm not quite sure how that would work. If it automatically equips it, you'd end up with three add-ons, and the game doesn't support that. If it only rewarded it to you after the game, it might be a bit detrimental to the killer to stop and search it for no benefit in that match.
I would assume you just can't recieve an add-on if you already have 2. Or you choose which add-on to give up by pressing "Q" or "E" - "1" or "2".
However this could greatly benefit Killer's who don't run add-on's, or end up getting cucked in the offering screen. Like Survivors can make huge comebacks from chests in the game (Example Key's - please remove the ability to get Skeleton Key's and Dull Key's from chests). Could you imagine how game chaning it would be if you went into a match where 3 or more survivors used petrified logs, and then you found a green/pink add-on in the killer chest?
Or simply the Survivors are easily countering an add-on you already have, so you go to killer chest switch out an add-on and then boom you catch them by surprise.
I am rather impressed by this idea, not gonna lie. It would deffiently make the gap between balance for survivors and Killer slightly smaller.

Please first read what I wrote, after you come here.I never said that Freddy was human or mortal. You should read first
I read your post just fine
"Dude, almost all of the killers can easily defeat Freddy, most of them are immortal, fearless or inhuman:Hag,oni,Myers, bubba,Hillbilly, spirit wraith etc..."
You're only point against is "most of them are IMMORTAL FEARLESS OR INHUMAN". Maybe you should be the one who should first read what they wrote.
This is why I said the only one who may have a chance is Myer's because he is fear itself, and cannot be scared. However one standard in the slasher horror universe is that everyone/everything has a fear - which Freddy's power allows him to find anyone's deepest fear to feed off of. The only thing that can kill Freddy cannoncally is if everyone forgot about him - it's his only weakness.

Hangman's Trick is broken. The aura reading distance allows you to see survivors almost across the entire map. I think it should make survivors exposed while sabotaging a hook and a few seconds after. Along with giving a notification when someone starts sabotaging a hook.
I could see that working just as well. It's a good idea. Though I don't find the aura reading too powerful, it's a great counter to the stealth meta which is just as bad as gen rushing in my opinion.

I play killer a lot, and I speak up a lot against the devs nerfing killers but this is it not one of those cases. Toolboxes do LESS when it comes to repairs, the sabo change can be adjusted for and a tool box only sabos 2-4 hooks max now and they come back quickly.
The keeping items is meh, doesn’t affect the game play because most people can get enough blood points to use whatever they want anyways. If anything it makes it harder because the addons gets deleted, I used to be able to use a 40 charge medkit, use it twice and still keep it with all addons after the game.
I play killer a lot, and speak up against the devs nerfing killers, and this is one of those cases. Toolboxes do MORE when it comes to repairs. They greatly increased the speed a toolbox repairs, and didn't decrease the charges the same amount - so you now get more progression from a toolbox than you did before. This has been tested numerous times by numerous people, including a lot of streamers.
Keeping items is extremely bad. You get one commodius toolbox every 4-5 wire spools, and I don't know how you have been doing your bloodwebs, but I can go through a couple to a few bloodweb pages after each match (assuming your doing level 50 pages of a P3 character). Obviously less pages if you played a survivor match, and more when you play a killer match.

Do you ever play survivor? The change to items makes no difference at all, you just get 1-2 extra charges from your item, I use to just 99 my item and id keep it if I escaped anyway, the only difference being you lose add-ons which is fair enough
I play survivor regularly, daily. That's why I am so aware of what it's like on both sides. Do you ever play killer?
Did you even test the changes in the ptb with a team of people testing the changes? Because I did. So did several twitch streamers. So did several other people. Why are you so far behind on the news?
The buffs to the toolbox wasn't a 50/50 speed increase, and charge decrease. It was a huge increase to speed, and a smaller decrese to charges. So you get more progression from a generator from a full toolbox than you did before. That's worse for the issue of gen's going too fast in a game.
Losing add-ons doesn't matter when you would get 4-5 wire spool, and socket swivels before finding your next commedius on the bloodweb, or do you not know how the bloodwebs work either?
If you fail to have even a basic knowledge to the game, why are you responding in the first place? Do you even play this game?
-
@Respectfulnancymain said:

Toolbox and sabo changes suck. But keeping items is actually a nerf cause they lose the add ons and you can 99 anyways. And the perks are all fine
The addons always have been easy to get from the bloodweb. It's getting the green and purple items that were hard (Because they would be less likely than the more likely nodes that far out number the number of purple and green nodes that could spawn). The "keeping items" is a huge buff, and losing your add-ons never mattered anyways.
It would take a person normally several bloodwebs to get a commedius toolbox, and in that time they would accumulate numerous wire spools, and socket swivels that spawn easier on the bloodweb.
The perks are not fine, I don't even know why you would think that unless you don't play this game in high ranks very often, or simply play survivor most of the time you don't understand the game from the other sides perspective.

There's a number of things that the other players could have done to easily get you out of there. Camping is a losing strategy if you don't do it properly, and he didn't do it properly. You just got suckered because you had a bad team.
No matter how much the dev's try to say "this is not a team game" that's exactly what it is, even the ranks expect you to play as a team to rank up.
Suck it up, move on to the next game, get out of low ranks where you will see less of this entirely (because camping like this doesn't get you passed green ranks).

and? Those players shouldn't be facing him in the first place. If that was a team of red rank survivors all with full meta loadouts - like you see regularly then Otz wouldn't have a chance, like in most of his other games. There is nothing fun of watching survivors perform 6-8 mistakes right infront of you back to back, and you are compeltely powerless to punish them for it.
Yea, and maybe he shouldn't have stood a chance running perks with no synergy & addons that make the killer he's using ability weaker, what's your point here, that he should 4K against good players while he's running the worst stuff? This seems like entitlement to me "It doesn't matter he's running the worst things, a good team would have beat him" yea, and they should, what's your point again?
So what you're saying is while the game is entirely balanced for potato's like this to face top players. Killer's all have to become the same level as Scorpion, Tru3, Otz, and FunGoose?
They are top killer players, if killers want to keep saying "Balance around high ranks" it has to go both ways, that seems fair, no?
Also let's not ignore the only reason he even had a chance to win was being forced to slug, which by the majority of the community all agree's is no fun or anyone. That is clear by the lack of fun he was having for the entirity of the video.
"Forced To slug" how was he forced to slug? There was like 2 gens done when everything was happening, there was no forcing involved, had he picked nancy up, or downed her earlier like he could have if he DIDNT USE ADDONS TO MAKE HIS KILLER WEAKER they would have been rinsed.
Then on top of all that the survivors all acted like ######### in the end game chat, further [BAD WORD] that the killer is forced to deal with, because of the ridiculous amount of entitlement the poor balancing has grown.
Boo hoo, hide the chat, get a thicker skin. He knows he played well, some pleb telling him to get good means nothing, if it's seriously offensive, report it and get them banned, or just hide the chat too, it's not hard.
You're literally trying to put words in my mouth to justify how unbalanced this game is. It's stupid that 4 people get infinite second chances, when the other side loses the game because of one. There is literally nothing you can say that will convince anyone otherwise - no matter the toxic mind game you try to play.

Flashlight stun him, go for the save

Lol I figured people would be as simple minded as to just go "He got his 4k though". That's not what the whole video is about, the whole video is about that it took them dozens of mistakes to all die, and he made only 2 mistakes the whole match and nearly lost the game because of it.
-
@Seanzu said:
aaaaand he still ends with a 4K, I wonder how differently this match would have been had he not used a meme addon.
edit: Not to mention his perks are very weird, seems likely this may have been a chat requested build so obviously something he's not familiar with, right?
He got the 4k because obviously those survivors were not red rank survivors. Obviously they got anywhere's in the ranking system because the perks carried them alone. Averagly survivors don't make this many mistakes in red ranks, and most pro players in Dead By Daylight all say the same thing, you can't profit off the survivors mistakes because they have too many second chance perks that just nulify every mistake they make. If this was a team of red ranks, with a fully outfitted sets of meta perks, Otz wouldn't have even gotten one hook, let alone any downs.
-
No, becuase if you died in a match then you would lose the Key and add-ons the same. So if you have Weaved Ring, and you die, you keep the key, but still lose the add-on.
Since the Key is destroyed (removed from the trial entirely) to open the hatch, you wouldn't be able to keep it in the end game screen. Having Milky Glass ensures you keep it like a normal item.

The ptb was hardly broken...
Most of the changes you mentioned as bad were good even for killers...
Yeah finishing 3 gens and almost 4 before killers can walk across large maps is deffiently a good change for killers. Insta heals is back, been loving the DS plays from that. Wow I can literally control the killer's entire objective like a GOD by using 1 perk and an alex's toolbox, and wanna know the best part? I won't lose that purple when I escape.
But you know what. Better not let that Hangman's Trick through. It would give Killer a slightly better chance of doing well in a trial, and we all know if you can't bully the killer - then you are not having fun.
-
New Mechanic - Entity's YEET
After 3 seconds of standing in the exit gate, if you have not passed the entity's threshold, the entity sends fourth one of it's tendril's and YEETS the survivor back into the trial.

I don't know about that, you get definitely still pip if you went for saves before the end game. I tend to not be very altruistic in the end game and even a boosted survivor like me can still pip.
But, can I like never go for saves? Like i've been following this 2 heals, and 2 saves rule for my games too - then let them all fend for themselves, but at the same time. When the killer is downing all 3 of the survivors because they would sooner bum rush a killer on hook rather than finishing gens. It feels bad when I de-pip for taking the free win mechanic, or opening the door when the Killer closes the free win mechanic.
(ngl i'm hella boosted too, i'm deffiently no better than like green ranks. I'm pretty sure it's OoO that's carrying me to red ranks, either that or Dead Hard, or DS. Unbreakable, now that is a crutch perk when it's needed).

You have no obligation to save someone at that point, but I wouldn't expect to make many friends if you don't. You'd be taking full advantage of the teamwork to get you to that point, then abandoning the team the second they stop benefiting you. You can play it however you want, but it's a selfish move and people will recognize it as one. If you're alright with that, you do you.
No obligation to, just you won't get that pip if you don't. It's pretty obvious you can't be selfish at all in this game. The entire survivor emblem system is based around playing survivor like a team game.

I have been running a clown build with STBFL with mostly positive results. It's not a build that synergize with another perk, but uses STBFL.
I know that PWYF synergizes well with STBFL. Basically every time you see your Obsession, you scare them, then leave. Hit that with Rancor, and you got a 3 perk combo that synergizes well with deadly results, though you are missing out on important perks needed in every killers kit (gen regression, pressure, etc).
Clown - Flask of Bleach / Solvent Jug
Thrilling Tremor / Pop Goes The Weasel / Save The Best For Last / Enduring

Consider me salty 🤓
If the dev's are smart they are going to be releasing this DLC late, after they fix EVERYTHING they broke balance wise with the Toolbox changes, Perks, and Keeping items after a match 🤨. Like i'm pretty the last of their killer's are just sitting here waiting - staring at the DLC, and ready to uninstall the second it comes out with any of these Survivor Buffs.
Though they already mentioned they don't plan to release the updated Hangman's Trick - which was probably the only balanced thing that came out with this update, but of course; It's in the Killers favor and makes the game easier for them. Therefore it's gots to go! The killer isn't allowed to have fun in this game.

Nope you're absolutely correct, even though NOED doesn't correct mistakes, it punish's the mistakes made by survivors. I faced a Doctor today, we gen rushed him. I only found 2 totems that match. The last gen went up, and lo-and behold. Ace got knocked down by NOED. I went and cleansed NOED, used my BT to get Ace off hook. Doc was being chummy and waited for my unhook. Ace took a protection hit. I then took a protection hit, and all 4 got out alive.
Same Doctor told me to kill myself in end game chat.

You don't shut down loops against good players that are used to playing as, and against Freddy. All his snares do is give a slow, that slow simply means they have to change their position from "across from the killer" to "closer to the vault". At the same time a good survivor will just run from a loop as you place 2 snares down, and drop the pallet quickly on any loop they see you already have snares at.
Freddy shuts down chases best when you perform jukes with his teleport. Fake tele to gen's they are running to, to make them peel and run into unsafe areas or back at you - or simply teleport to gen's ahead of them, and get the hit as they come up on you. A whole new kind of mind game people are still getting used to.
-
I run BBQ on all of my killers - regardless of their speed from Green ranks to Purple ranks, simply because of the bp bonus. Survivors in Green to Purple ranks are just not good enough at the game. They suck at looping, map awareness, predicting killer position, the list goes on. You would think most of these skills a survivor would have picked up by purple ranks, but that simply isn't the case. The game is too easy for them. So I run BBQ, get a bit of info and big bp bonus - then survivors go as far as to say the Clown is broken. In red ranks I only use BBQ on fast killers, or Huntress (Because hatchets). I have been testing TT in red ranks, but I just can't get behind that long cooldown ITS SO LONG, with very little payout. The gen's are only blocked for a few seconds it feels, and they get right back on them. Not to mention in red ranks - survivors deliberatly let go of the gen for a pick up, and then get back on it when the TT wears off - so you don't even get to know where anyone is anyways.
Though you don't really have much choice but to take TT or BBQ, because in high ranks DH and NOED all get cleansed anyways. You can take PWYF for movement speed, but it's a lot of work for a small payout as well, and at the same time if you're already a slow killer you can't really risk not commiting to chases as soon as possible. Wraith really is the only one who can maximize on this perk because he can just end chase by going invisible.
Anyways idk where i'm going with this. I think my point is that Thrilling Tremors is just far too weak of a perk to run in high ranks, and at least BBQ gives you BP for the same amount of information, and same likely hood fo getting that information.
-
Then buy the premium?
Could you imagine getting a gift from someone, and going "Eh - the box is kind of empty, can I have more please?" 🤣
-
You can just wait, on the other players screens your just standing in place by the wall of the basement. The killer can still hit you, and survivors can still interact with you. Even if they couldn't see you the entity will kill you at EGC anyways.
You wont' get a ban for dcing though, you will however get the dc penalty unfortunately.

Well, since you refuse to actually try and prove your shoddy argument, heres TWO mods talking about it a year ago.

Also, to your "oh so witty" response. Lack of proof is not disproof. Its apparent you dont understand the scientific community or process at all.
You have no evidence to support your anecdotal theory, I did. You said "nuh uh", so I asked for your proof. To which you had none, except a snippy response.
So chew on these pics for a bit. They literally state what I did, and had a mod confirm a few posts later.
Heres the link, inb4: it didnt happen/ nice edit.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/72154/why-do-i-get-so-many-killer-dailies
Nice try though hon, you really put forth the effort to do whatever you could to prove your argument yet do no work to ACTUALLY prove it.
<3
I don't know if you know this, but Mods don't actually have any say, or work in the actual development of the game. Which is why they say things like "if I remember correctly" or "it could be this". They are just highly regarded community members that don't work for the company. Unlike the Community Dev's who do work for the company.
But you did finally come with some form of "proof", albeit not any proof that isn't just further observations, and guesses. At the same time your aparent proof, also is them explicitedly agreeing with my point of getting more Killer dailies than survivor - even if it's based on what you play less. Overall I play survivor less, but yet since the ruin rework I have been regularly getting more killer daily's for killers I do and don't play. I have been playing survivor more, but I spend most of my time playing Killer and farming BP with killer.
Boy do you probably feel so tough right now 😘. It just really sucks when the "proof" you provide isn't very meritable, and further strengthens the side your trying to debate against.

Sure you can keep waiting. Here is the link for the Fog Whisperer launch; https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/49385/fog-whisperers-program-launch/p1?new=1
Here is a recent requrest on how to get Twitch Shirt in the help center; https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000442943-How-can-I-get-a-twitch-shirt-for-my-character-
I'm only helping, because it's also rare that they answer these kinds of threads in the forums when the information is readily available online, or asking streamers directly.

You can say you call me on bs all you like, but that's how it works. 🤷♀️
I play 60/40 survivor, and every 2/3 quests are killer.
Without fail.
So, if you can prove that its 100% false, please do.
Lol "prove that it's false". That's not how things work darling. My proof is that there is no proof it's real. That's why it's false. The whole point of proving something is real is by providing proof - and you havn't.

So far what we know is that mostly everything is going live except for Hangman's Trick - because apparently that's what is TOO STRONG. 🤨🙄

I called Freddy "braindead" because I think he does have the lowest skill ceiling in the game, also I wanted to know how to counter him better so I asked, nothing wrong with it.
Instead of just trying to say that "I'm trying to be innocent" you actually tell me what about Freddy does require skill, it would be helpful and I could learn something new.
Also I don't know where did you found that Survivors are hard lmao.
What takes skill? Timing his abilities, knowing where to place snares, and trying to keep everyone asleep so that your abilities are actually useful. He has an early game, mid game, and end game strategies you have to follow - each one you need to learn that changes how you use his snares / teleport entirely. Every single aspect of the killer has sound notifications, and animations. Survivors are well aware of what's he's doing at all times. He's so easy to counter that it makes sense he is so hard to play. The idea you didn't figure that out yourself is mind blowing - I would sooner just tell you to keep practicing against him and you will easily see how easy it is to beat him. Maybe play him against some moderatly good players in higher ranks, and you will see how easy it is to counter him - when you watch for yourself, everything you do the other survivors counter. Even the slow from his snares doesn't entirely stop survivors from being able to loop Freddy around strong loops, it just means you have to use different positioning than what you're used to.
I have a much easier time playing Clown than I do Freddy. Legion, and Huntress too. The reason I play Freddy is because I enjoy the technical aspects, and all the ahead of time thinking he requires. A lot more skill than pressing m2 - you can no longer loop or see where you're going. A lot more skill then pressing m2, and get a free hit with an easy skill shot. A lot more skill then pressing m2, and just hitting each survivor once.
The only reason you think he is "easy to play" (lol nice edit though - way to avoid being jailed, people get jailed immediatly for making these bait threads). Is because you know nothing about him, and it shows. So the freddy's stomp you because of your lack of skill - not theirs.

As far as I am aware there is an application process for Fog Whisperers, and I don't think they are taking any at the moment (that doesn't mean they won't open aplications later).
Twitch Shirts are gifted to streamers, who are found by the developers, and find that their community is positive, and aids the overall community of Dead by Daylight.

I came here expecting a headache, but the responses have me piss laughing.
Could you imagine of all the things to have an issue with in the game, and Mad Grit is at the top of your list?
