Should I learn Freddy?
I’m pretty bad against good loopers when I play Legion. Sometimes it can take me awhile to end a chase.
But from what I’ve heard and seen of Freddy he can shut down loops extremely quickly with almost no counterplay. Should I start learning him instead just so I can get downs faster?

He can shut down unsafe loops easily yes, but so can any killer with mindgames. While Freddy is a good killer he’s still an M1 killer especially when survivors are awake, he’s strong when survivors are asleep but depending on if you’re using pallets or snares, you still have to place them correctly and know when to, it’s not like you can throw them down wherever and get downs so there is a little bit of skill involved.
Anyways to answer your question, yes i’d recommend Freddy. He’s an easy to learn and strong killer. But you also mentioned you’re bad with legion at loops which is understandable cause legion is probably the weakest killer. I’d still practice looping though because Freddy isn’t magic with winning. Freddy is by far the best killer for players that are not that good. He is great even if you are bad at chases since his snares will give you free hits, he is great when you have no map awareness because of teleportation, and he is great in slowing down the game with his addons.
So yes, he is definitly a very strong killer and you dont have to put a lot of learning into him like Nurse, Huntress, Spirit or Billy.
Well...there's not much to learn so it's up to you if you enjoy the way he plays. Just know that the skill ceiling is pretty low, and imo he's not very rewarding or satisfying to play. It's all down to if you like his abilities.
You don't shut down loops against good players that are used to playing as, and against Freddy. All his snares do is give a slow, that slow simply means they have to change their position from "across from the killer" to "closer to the vault". At the same time a good survivor will just run from a loop as you place 2 snares down, and drop the pallet quickly on any loop they see you already have snares at.
Freddy shuts down chases best when you perform jukes with his teleport. Fake tele to gen's they are running to, to make them peel and run into unsafe areas or back at you - or simply teleport to gen's ahead of them, and get the hit as they come up on you. A whole new kind of mind game people are still getting used to.
Nothing to learn much for freddy, as he requires little to no skill at all. Slap on pgtw and bbq and you're good
In terms of power, put snares to cut off loops. Very straight foward. (teleport too obvi lul)
Freddy is pretty straight forward to be decent with. He gets a little more tricky when you start learning to teleport mid chase. But he's very accessible. Definitely worth picking up. But if you truly want to delete any and all loops, Nurse is your answer
There is nothing to learn about freddy. He's probably the easiest killer to play
