I thought about new Legion after I played him lately. I found myself running as M1 Killer most of time, since using FF is a waste of my time instead of wasting their time. I was using FF only when I got to gen that was lighted up by Discordance. In all other cases I just M1 surv I've found, cause wiping animation is less then FF fatique, especially with SBFTL, not to mention almost complete blindness.

Legion was beaten with nerf bat pretty brutally, though there are some steps in right direction.

That's how I see Legion should work and which stats he should have:

    Base speed: 115%, 4.6 m/s

    Terror Radius: 32 meters

    Addons:

All Pin addons - increase duration of debuffs to 120 seconds.

Frank's Mix Tape - considerably reduce time of slowdown of missed attacks (including FF hits into DW) (-0.5 seconds shave off)

    Feral Frenzy:

    FF speed: 135%, 5.4 m/s

    FF duration: 10 seconds

    FF recharge time: 10 seconds

Missed FF attack: 2 seconds slowdown to 90% speed, 3.6 m/s, unable to attack during slowdown

FF hits to surv with DW: same as missed, explain further.

    FF end fatique: 4 seconds

FF fatique blindness: lessen at least to state of current+shadowborn

FF amount loss from M1 attack: none

Vault speed same as now, due to increased movement speed.

    Deep Wounds:

30 seconds to Mend, Mend takes 10 seconds, progress saved if interrupted.

While Survivor in TR and not moving DW timer is active.

While Survivor in TR and moving - DW timer is on pause.

While Survivor outside TR - DW timer is active always.

DW is active during Mend, if Survivor do not finish Mend when DW timer is depleted - goes to dying state.

Thus, Survivor can't ignore DW and continue to do his activities while wounded even in Legion TR. If he is moving in TR he is either in chase or running away, so timer is on pause to avoid moonwalk exploits.

Missed FF attack or second attack give Legion slowdown, so he cant spam hits into target for whatever reasons, but allow to double hit survivor to apply Pin debuff and still run away and find someone else.

Increased speed of FF covers more distance to be able spread love better, if Legion decides to keep on same person fatique will still give guy time to retreat, so it wont be free hit.

I agree with most of this except the TR tweaks, the missed attack change, and the recharge buff.

I’m totally fine with the 20-second recharge; my grief is with the fact he can’t use FF again until all 20 seconds have transpired. If he could use it after, say, 25% recharge, then that’s waiting 5 seconds for 2.5 seconds of Frenzy, enough to hit a Survivor who avoided your last FF if you’ve managed to force him into a compromising position.

If you’ve managed to catch up to a Survivor with Feral Frenzy, you should absolutely be punished by missing an attack. Outpacing a Frenzying Legion is easy; juking an attack requires the Legion to be totally brain dead unless you’re abusing his slow pallet vault. If you’re gonna be totally brain dead, you should be punished accordingly, especially with the 25% recharge change I have in mind.

The TR change seems needlessly nuanced; not to mention, if Legion forces you into a position where your safest option is to sit still and wait for him to make his move (semi-unsafe loops or stealth), then he can force your timer to tick down instead of actually mindgaming you or snuffing you out of your hiding place. Not fun. Plus, 32 meters is just an obnoxiously fat radius to get notified from anyway; if I can give a Killer a reason not to have one, I’m sure as hell going to take it.

  • what a lovely, insightful thread

  • Imagine that but the bacon is Canadian

  • Aside from the affect on the health of the game, I'm personally loving the changes to Legion.

I'm "happy" with the Legion changes simply because of the abuse removal and him being changed to a 115 Killer, but at the same time, it is now much more difficult to effectively chain hits and Deep Wound is hardly even a threat anymore.

Basically, Legion is more fun, but he still got harshly nerfed because Feral Frenzy was turned from a chase/utility hybrid power into a utility power, only for the utility to get watered down significantly.

I made an entire video covering new Legion and what I think, so if you're interested in debate or want to understand my reasoning, feel free to watch it.

Does anyone know how many pukes does it take for The Plague to put a survivor in broken status without addons?

I think if you get ALL of it on a Survivor, it can only take 1 puke. However, I personally don't use puking as a "chase" power per se; I play in a more fire-and-forget style of play so that I can get everyone infected quicker. So as soon as a Survivor I'm chasing gets the tiniest bit of infection on him, I'm gone, because by the time I'm back, they're guaranteed to either be fully sick or have given me Corrupt Purge; meanwhile, at least 1 or 2 other Survivors also would have also gotten infected in the time I was gone.

  • If you think Legion is bad, why would you ever play Plague? Her power is just Feral Frenzy without the tracking, the stall, the hit chains, and the instantaneous injury, while the bonus she gets can not only be denied by not cleansing, and not only heals the Survivors, but also requires her to go out of her way to where a corrupted altar is, sacrificing whatever pressure she may have in order to become a bootlegged Huntress for one minute. Meanwhile, Legion is the second best Killer for M1 mindgames, while Plague is the worst, save for 110 Killers.

Plague is literally just a B tech Legion. I don't know how they did it, but she is actually, physically, unironically just a worse Legion.

  • Hag if you're looking for a strong Killer, Legion if you're looking for a fun Killer, and Spirit if you unironically think a power that lets you not be a 110 M1 Killer every 10 to 15 seconds is a high-tier ability.

It made end-game more exciting. It gave more end-game control to the killer and buffed all end-game perks. It limited the duration for taunting. It ended the hatch standoff.

Survivors swapping lockers for half an hour out of spite is as rare as it sounds. It is not the primary reason they created the EGC.

Yeah believe or not, a timer that starts after an exit gate has already opened and slows down when someone is downed doesn’t actually give a Killer that much extra control—especially when it can be negated by just 99’ing the gate and then opening it when the time is right.

Sure, the hatch standoff removal was nice, but outside of that, it genuinely does nothing other than giving the Killer the option to ignore Survivors teabagging at the exit gates without the punishment of not being able to leave the game.

It also gives Survivors the opportunity to deny a Killer a 5 gen 4k with luck alone, so that’s a thing.

I really don't see how that is at all relevant. Furthermore, EGC was created for a myriad of reasons and holding the game hostage is far down the ladder.

Let's not encourage the OP by pretending it is anything more than just a matter of undeserved pride.

  • I used to think Nurse was the hardest Killer in the game. But after playing her extensively, I quickly realized that with the exception of blink muscle memory (which isn't really "skill" so much as it is just, well, memory), all the things required to be a good Nurse—game sense, map knowledge, situational awareness, predicting Survivors in chases, predicting Survivors out of them—are just things required to be a good Killer in general.

For the most part, the people who say she's easy are great with training their muscle memory, and others like me who are/were under the impression that she's hard have a tougher time doing so. And the truth is, it's because the muscle memory is really only Nurse's Killer-specific learning curve. Outside of that training, she behaves exactly like every M1 Killer. She doesn't have special traps or situational ranged weapons or have a lingering status effect tied to her ability—you just BLINK. That's it.

Why am I going on this rant as to why Nurse is easy? Well, it's because of how strong she is. Sure, Nurses who are bad will get beaten, and Nurses who are actually good—well, they're good, so they've earned their victories, right? The problem is, one you've mastered the art of guessing and predicting Survivors' movement and behavior patterns when out of your LoS, you're pretty much set for life. You've become a good Nurse, and no one is ever going to ever stand the slightest chance in a chase against you. If you can predict them well, they literally have nothing left to defend themselves in a chase, because their sole available tactic, juking, is now countered. Once you've hit that point, the only thing Survivors can do to win the game is to mash out gens like their name is Uncle Dane the Engie Main—and hey, that's just no fun for either side.

Nurse is not balanced, not because she literally bypasses a huge chunk of mechanics Survivors use to keep themselves alive in a chase, but because what the Survivors can still use that hasn't been rendered obsolete can be totally overthrown by the Nurse for, in my honest opinion, a quite low amount of skill and effort.

So she counters OP garbage like SWF. That doesn't make her balanced. That just makes those things OP.

That's a problem with the player not reacting to the survivors plays. There aren't an infinite number of short loops. Just break the pallet and deny the loop.

As someone who has, as a Survivor, managed to do exactly what Dehitay is describing, the nerfed pallet speed completely ensures that there is nothing the Legion can do while in Frenzy. Sure, he can break it afterwards, but don’t you think it’s unreasonable that running in a circle around short loops is a near-foolproof cancellation to a power that is literally built to prevent that from happening?

Personally, I think it’s unreasonable. And by that I mean “total bullshit”.

Except staying uninjured throughout the entire trial is not a reasonable expectation. Sure it happens every now and then when you get lucky or if the killer is not very good, but this is far from the typical situation.

We know that No Mither was designed as a challenge perk from the dev's own words, but like you said it's badly designed. There are just too many drawbacks - the main one (being one hit) is also such a big one that it outweighs anything good that comes out of it.

I would like to have a perk like "Blood is Thicker than Water" or something that prevents you from leaving blood pools, because frankly it's something I've always wanted. The only way I can get it is to play No Mither, which is sad.

“Except staying uninjured throughout the entire trial is not a reasonable expectation.”

Healing? Stealth? Sprint Burst? You have tools at your disposal to keep yourself uninjured. Besides, which do you think is stronger: Being immune to Bloodhound on a one-hit down, or not being immune to Bloodhound after being hit, but still nonetheless having a second chance after first getting hit and losing that immunity?

”There are just too many drawbacks - the main one (being one hit) is also such a big one that it outweighs anything good that comes out of it.”

It’s almost like the intended purpose of the Perk is specifically to make the game harder for people who want a more challenging experience and an extra reward is intentionally out of the equation as it is not deserved.

“Actually Legion counters No Mither by not going into Frenzy and hitting you normally.“

That’s hardly a counter when Legion literally has to do that anyway. That’s like saying No Mither counters Myers by making you Exposed all the time.

Look them up, they get done all the time. It is just slugging for the entire game. You lose chunks of bleed out each time you recover. So they just keep downing everyone till they die on the ground.

Even if a Killer would try that preposterous strategy, No Mither only lets you pick yourself up a total of 7 times before you bleed out anyway unless you had Unbreakable, in which case you'd get picked up 9 times. And even then, simply picking yourself doesn't doesn't bring the entire strategy to a screeching halt, especially if the Killer is running Perks like Deerstalker, TTS, Knock Out, or so on and so forth.

And, of course, when all else fails, one can always refer to the meme I previously posted in this thread regarding No Mither as an anti-slug Perk.

  • @ReikoMori said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472234#Comment_472234

Because there are 3-4 perks that only work when you are injured and No Mither gives you injured status from game start. No Mither on its own isn't really that great, but when combined with other injury reliant perks it is great. It also has the added benefit of being able to pick yourself up off the ground as much as you want should someone be doing no hook challenges.

No Mither with a bunch of injury Perks is not great; it's meh. This Is Not Happening is useless if you already know how to hit Great Skill Checks, Resilience is only useful for vaulting faster thanks to terrible hit connections, Dead Hard is pointless because if you have NM, a decent Killer will see it coming from miles away, and Iron Will... well, the point of the OP was that IW with NM shouldn't be near-mandatory, so yeah.

I've never heard of anyone doing no-hook challenges; it sounds like you're begging to lose that game.

No Mither needs to reduce noise by 100%.

It needs to not show broken status to killer.

It needs to not enter game injured. - That way the killer truly won't know who has No Mither.

Retain the inability to be rehealed to uninjured.

Retain the ability to pick yourself up.

Retain the no pools of blood.

Add a BP increase for playing with No Mither. <-- would be nice, but at least make the other changes. Honestly I feel if BBQ has a BP increase even with it being so strong in the first place, then No Mither should likewise have a BP bonus.

That's my recommendation for No Mither.

I agree with much of what was said, No Mither isn't a "hard core" mode, it's an anti slugging perk.

Hard mode is no perks, no items no offerings, and if you really want hard core, just stand still if you get hit once.

In it's current state, especially since you start injured and you show broken to killer, it tells the killer you have No Mither, COMPLETELY negating the primary purpose of the perk, - being to pick yourself up if downed. The current perk stats are rather stupid to be honest.

@Peanits Can we get some feedback on this? And on Left behind?

No, the purpose of the Perk is absolutely hard mode. The benefits you get from NM do not compensate for being uninjured all game; it is very clear it is a Perk designed to make the game more challenging for those who don’t feel they need the extra hit they get from being uninjured. I’m at least 10,000% certain that the devs intentionally designed the Perk so that the permanent dying state recovery did not consistently come into play so that you don’t get such powerful compensation for knowingly turning on hard mode; if I am correct, the devs have specifically stated that it is in fact a challenge Perk.

@No_Mither_No_Problem Sorry this took so long I started to get details focused and forgot it’s meant to be sketches. Drawing spirit was definitely fun and I probably need more practice with huntress... she gave me issues (also please don’t hate me too much for the overlay for her veil, I just got to a point where I realised drawing the individual fishnet detail etc. would take a lot longer, I’m so sorry. I hope it’s alright, might continue this as a personal project in future/repaint and actually take the full time to do all details)

In any case definitely a cute idea and very sad, Rin is precious and I can definitely see Anna always being there to comfort her now. Thanks for sharing. :) I should probably go sleep now, getting up early tomorrow, RIP

@ClogWench Also tagging you as above.

Ok but why is this the best thing ever

  • My headcanons?

    1. Anna stumbled upon Rin as she was resting in her cabin in Red Forest, and moved in to attack her, thinking she was a prey, only to realize she was not only one of the Entity's fellow servants, but also a young girl, lost and wandering and filled with loneliness, her mother murdered by her father. Over time, the two of them managed to overcome their language barrier and the Huntress, empathizing with the Spirit's pain, was unable to prevent her motherly instincts from taking over, and she took on the role of Rin's surrogate mother.
    2. Susie is the only member of the Legion who is still deeply perturbed by being a ruthless murderer, while the others only have a shred of their humanity left. She, much like the Survivors, operates under the hope that once the Entity is satisfied, she can be set free.
    3. Amanda and Michael were forced to work together to teach Ghostface how to be a servant of the Entity. He's also in complete shock that four of his favorite slasher villains exist in this realm and he has a signed photo of each.
    4. When Ghostface's phone sends photos to his friends in his mori animation, that is the only time that anyone within the Entity's realm has access to the outside world.

  • I think 3 protection hits would be too difficult and situational to get the Perk to activate, even as strong as it is. I think it should be easier to earn but with less of a reward. Here's my idea:

    Mettle of Man

After performing a safe hook rescue on another Survivor, this Perk activates.

The next time you would be put into the dying state straight from the healthy state, you will instead be put into the injured state.

Mettle of Man must be reactivated after it is used.

Can only be used 1/2/3 times per match.

  • Trapper is up there for me. As much as he sucks, his power is 100% RNG-based and nothing about it feels engaging. It's boring and frustrating as all hell to play against, and the only gratification to playing against Trapper is freeing someone else from a trap. Not even stomping a Trapper in a chase feels good because his power sucks. It's not like you're some god for looping a basic M1 Killer or anything.
