I would not play killer near as much if it wasn't for the blood points I get from BBQ. BBQ is really the only thing that makes playing killer worth it somedays. I run surveillance and PGTW with it to slow down gens.
-
There is just so many more people playing survivor right now. It's pretty easy is to pip as survivor. Even an average survivor will make into purple ranks pretty quickly after rank reset. A lot of killers are stuck around 8 because it's hard to pip consistently going against really good red rank survivors. I think this is the real issue with MM. Just not enough killers to balance MM around.
-
Low mobility killers need a buff. Map size is the biggest issue.
-
I haven't ever played a map offering as a killer. Now if they created an offering that guaranteed I wouldn't go to Haddonfield. I would play that a lot.

nah fam, i find it ridiculous to think that someone can get a 4k in 100% of their killer games (OP: "every time I play killer I get a merciless 4k") at red ranks. I cant get a 4k every time in my games, Streamers I watch who play this game at rank 1 cant get a 4k in every game they play. PS4 must be a ######### cakewalk if you can get a 4k in every game you play in.
It's just bait and lies bro. I'm a rank 3 killer on ps4. You dont 4k every time. We both know that. There are some potatoes in red ranks sure. But there are also some great red rank squads that will de pip you most of the time as well. Anyone that claims they 4k everytime is being dishonest and anything they say on these boards should be taken with a grain of salt.

I think killers already are, especially since the DC penalties have gone into play. I've never been slugged so much in my life. It's boring and it's a waste of time, especially with trying to do challenges now. I'm just dying on my first hook and going to the next game as a result now. I used to pretty regularly have the killer let the last person go. It didn't happen often, maybe once a week or two, but it happened regularly. It's probably been six months since I've seen it. It seems like most killer mains think a 4k is the only way to have fun and that's just not how I see or play this game, but what can you do.
As a killer main I agree with you. I dont let people out as much as I use to. After you have de piped for a 2K a couple of times in a row. Then been slaughtered by a couple of SWF squads. The whole entity displeased grinds on me. When a game comes along and I see an opportunity for Merciless I go for it now. Honestly, I cant think of the last time a survivor did something nice for me either. Guess it's just the state of dbd at the moment. Acts of kindness are few and far between.
-
I'm going to wait and see how it plays out. I'm really confused as to why these sabo changes are being brought to the game right now.
Shrinking killer pool
Toxicity and frustration at a all time high.
The timing of the sabo mechanic just seems to be ill advised.
-
I play against SWF teams that aren't toxic on ps4 all the time. Dont get me wrong. they will still get the gens done in 4 1/2 minutes and 4 man you. They are just nice about it.
-
I have a soft spot for lone wolves playing with SWF groups. The only people who have it worse than killers in this game.
-
When I'm playing killer and the survivors won't take other survivors off the hook. I need atleast 8 hooks a game. Letting people die on first hook or letting them go into 2nd stage because you want to urban evade all over the map doing nothing hurts both sides.
-
The red stain on the killer is only there to help the survivors. It is way past time to remove this anchor from a killers neck. The survivors dont need help looping killers. Its ridiculous that killers have a lighthouse on our heads letting survivors know where we are and where were headed the whole game. Can you imagine if survivors had to play with this mechanic in place?
-
BBQ, surveillance, PGTW, Nurse's calling
-
Imagine playing this game and thinking any killer needs a nerf.

It's happened to me on gens to much lately. It's such a punch to the gut.

The game would be dead without SWF. So that is certainly a good idea for them to implement. What they need to do is buff solo survivors with more information to bring them up closer to the same levels as swf. Then they can buff killers in turn.
How would you implement a buff on solo survivors?
-
Console killers play them all the time. Just give all survivors game chat and killers a buff.
If they dont want to do that. Then I would take extra blood points for my suffering.
-
Chase music has never done anything but help survivors get away from me. Cant think of one time where it helped.
-
This would be great until it happens to you. Then it would feel like a bad idea.
-
You already know the answer to your question. 80% of the player base gets the fun.
Choosing to main Killer is not for the faint of heart. It's for the insane and the masochist.

1 shot hatchets of huntress is so unfun to play against. i dc everytime i get downed by 1 shot hatchets without any regrets. why should i stay in a game with op game mechanics? this needs a nerf asap!
Btw. DCing is a weak move. Their are 4 other people playing. It's not all about you.
-
I hate insta blind flashlights and keys. But their not going anywhere.
Its dbd, suck it up and move on to the next game. That's what we do.
-
I'm a killer main and I'm always amazed at how many people are left on hooks for no reason. Particularly the solo survivors playing with SWF. I am literally on the otherside of the map. I have been chasing a survivor for the past minute. Letting people die on first hook is bad for both sides.
I rarely have much empathy for survivors. Just being honest. But you cant help but feel for lone wolves getting a screwed over by SWF sometimes.
Plus them dying on first hook means more than likely I'm sweating to save pip.
-
Undecided. I'm going wait and see what changed are made to him after PTB.

I get a dozen or so hits at least, even if they escape a chase losing the item did some damage, especially if they were counting on that medkit or flashlight. If it was 15 or 20 it'd be pretty menacing, or if it showed item auras like plunderers instincts
We are not playing the same game bro. You are obviously a way better killer than me. I'm on ps4 rank 8. My games are lasting 5-6 minutes. I dont even get 12 hits on the entire squad sometimes.
-
I dont see how they could do anything without pissing off a good portion of their player base.
I just wish they would give killers a BP bonus for playing against them. Atleast pay me if your going to $crew me.
-
I wasn't a fan with they released on PS4. But I like them now way better than p2p. Hope it gets better for you.

It's one of the last good perks that everyone underrates. They damage it does to their items does stack up pretty fast, especially since they always go back for it after healing. Trust me it makes a huge impact
How often on average do you get a hit on one item though? I tried to run it to avoid dodging lobbies. I just found I get 1 maybe 2 hits a game. 10% just is enough to justify running it over other perks for me. I wish they would bump the numbers just a little.

Using franklin's to counter a toolbox is not a smart idea. If you are already actively chasing a person with a toolbox, you are already preventing them from using it. If you hit a survivor with franklin's and they aren't a potato, they will just go back and pick up the toolbox. You should use a better perk in its place and just accept toolbox games.
Your right. So many better options than Franklin's.
-
Leave Billy alone. Balance around him.
-
You cant 99 them is my understanding. Hooks return in 30 seconds I think.
-
DC penalties are a must in the game. People need to be held accountable for their behavior or crappy internet. Both hurt the game for those of us out here just trying to play.
-
I rarely see these teams. Ironically yesterday I had 2 of them. With them no longer being able to 99% the hooks and hooks return in 30 seconds I will be able to mind game it more.
-
The game has always been hard on the killer. Nothing has come easy and I dont think that will change honestly. Killer mains that are still playing this game have persevered if nothing else.
I have enjoyed the games a little more since rank reset. I'm a ps4 r8 killer. But the SWF on consoles is next level. I'm hoping the upcoming changes help with the loops. If you dont want to rework maps. Atleast let me break these loops in half.
-
Billy
-
I would think they would break up ridiculous loops. A Lot easier than reworking a bunch of maps.
-
People should be allowed to disable it. I dont mind a little back and forth sometimes. But to each his own.
-
Let's see how it plays out before we rush to judgment.
They dont have time to rework all the maps. They cant keep bleeding out killers. Seems like this could be a way to fix both issues.
Let's be honest. You shouldn't be able to bully a killer. It makes the game a joke.

Playing killer sucks (for low ranks), how it is fun that you are learning to play killer, you are in low rank like 16 or 17 and you have to fave level 9 or 8 survivor?
Is not fun at all, you are just trying to get the hand of it, and you get bullyed every match because your facing experienced survivors.
Seriously match making system is useless. There is no point for new player to join if they just get destroyed every time
Just keep grinding. Going against better survivors is going to make you better. I know that's not any consolation when your getting bullied. I spent the entire last season getting stomped and bullied so I understand how it feels.
But if you keep grinding, spend a few minutes after every game asking yourself what you could have done better, and learn from your mistakes. You will be holding your own in no time.
However, there are certain maps and SWF squads that are almost guaranteed to be an unpleasant experience.
-
I had 3 DC's this morning in my first 5 games playing killer. Habitual DCers won't change because of the ban. It's a character flaw that some people have.
Things dont go your way...quit
Dont get what you want....quit
It's has more to do with who they are as a person and little to do with the game.
-
The ones running iron will. This perk makes me lose so many survivors.

Any advice i’d give to anyone new is never play just one side. Always play both so you understand each side and don’t become one sided or “entitled.” You can have a favorite of course (mines killer) but I always play both sides. Welcome to dead by daylight!
This!
You need to have a good understanding of the otherside to be good at the game.
-
I feel your pain on a lot of those hits. However, switching to killer isn't going to help your frustration level. Your just going to be frustrated watching your axe go right through people and not getting the hit.

They are gonna come in handy when level 3 of archives is out and everyone will start bringing keys. Who comes up with these challenges?
It does make you wonder if the dev team secretly enjoys the toxicity... just a little.

It's been a while since I was in scouts, but I'm almost certain that rapid-fire flashlight clicking survivors do is Morse code for "Tunnel me harder daddy."
I'm always amazed at how angry there messages are after the game. Of course I'm going to tunnel you! For starters its annoying. But most importantly I work hard to get that survivor on the ground. I dont need you running in with your clickity click and making me start all over again.

@KrispiesChicken said:
My issue with Franklin's is it has no use on keys. Sure it loses 10% but if they plan to open hatch that 10% didn't really do anything now did it
Agreed. 10% is just not enough for a perk slot.
-
@Chicagopimp2019 said:
@Nickeleye I think the real advantage to using Franklin's is that the survivors (myself included) really love their items and tend to return to pick them up. I can't tell you how many times I've knocked an item out of a survivor's hands and started to chase someone else, only to loop back around and find them looking for their dropped item. Thats why you will see good hag players trap the dropped item. It's pretty much guaranteed someone will set that trap off. The loss of 10% of the item's original charge is just a plus and will take that item out of service much faster. After all, any use of that item is reducing the number of charges as well....
I have read a few threads that mentioned the things you are talking about. Which is why I decided to run Franklin's more and dodge lobby's less.
While I do catch survivors returning for their items some. Especially after getting rescued off the hook. For me that strategy just doesnt work enough to justify running Franklin's.
Also, a lot of time the item is left in a tile where the gens have been completed. Anytime I spend away from gens always seems to come back to bite me in the A$$.
If I was taking 20% of the item per hit that would make it a far better perk. I could play more and dodge less.
-
@Spectre13 said:
You could always use the perk and then DC from the match since you we're gonna jump ship anyhow. Make sure they lose that Commodious Toolbox or Rangers Medkit or other purple or red goodie lol. Go big or go back to Fortnite.
I would rather just dodge the lobby than play it like a douche.
-
To words that should never be used together...pig and unfair.
-
Yes but it's not very consistent. Im having Issues with grabbing people of gens as well.
-
I think the honest answer is both.
