I think the wait time for survivors answers your question for a lot of killers out there. A lot of people just dont play as much as they use to. I'm playing around 5-7 hours a week. That's plenty for me right now.
Maybe the devs will do something crazy. Like take away that little speed boost survivors get when you hit them. 😀 Now that would be fun!
-
There is no wait time for killers on PS4. Come join us on the dark side. Guaranteed to be the worst time you have ever had playing a video game.

Nobody said it was the reason for the majority.
Why should someone have to sit on the naughty step for 5 minutes just because the developers are unable to create a stable game?
Wait until you’re stuck in a pallet unable to move or caught in a basement bug unable to see.
Players should not be punished for developer incompetence.
How often does this happen to you? What platform do you play on?

How would you even know if they are SWF? According to the dev statistics it was a tiny minority across ALL platforms.
In my experience many killers confuse SWF with solo survivors who actually are playing well.
Some survivors also just share teamspeak or discord data in the lobby. So if you buff solo survivors they will have it all.
Click their gamer tag and check their friends list.

As a killer main I agree with the OP. Nothing makes me drop a chase faster than a good looper who knows how and when to DH. These type of players are the real killers in my opinion.

Because swf are a little part of the survivor playerbase, and you can't balance the whole game around them. Big brain time
You must play on PC. Ps4 is full of SWF. Almost to the point that red rank killers are becoming extinct.
-
I see keys 30% of my matches. I think the revolution has already started without you.
-
Maps. You have to balance around them or it doesnt matter what you nerf, balance, re work...
-
The game is way to fast. I have to commit to 3 gens way to early to be consistent. This strategy gets really old and stale.
I can bring mori, camp,or tunnel to get a survivor out early. This strategy is effective but not good for the health of the game.
The amount of toolboxes being brought in the past few weeks is compounding the issue. But its DBD... oneside loves to kick the otherside when their down.

Keep Noed please. I dont run it but I appreciate killers that do. I want the survivor hunting totems. That little bit of time goes a long way.
-
I have been playing around with her for about a month. I'm the reason survivors think EZ game when they hear a nurse.
I'm really struggling with blinks at middle distances. Sometimes I'm not even close . I'm going to keep working on her though. But it's a grind..I wish there was a mode where I could practice blinking at specific distances. Something similar to a golf driving range.
-
Fix maps first! Then look at gen speed after that.
-
I nod at survivors when they make a great play. It's the opposite of Toxic. But I could be the exception to the rule. If I want to be toxic I would slug and camp. Or shake my head No.
-
No....Its a necessity unfortunately in your scenario. The only play at that time is to try and use their altruism against them. Hopefully turn that camp into a 2K . That's what I would do anyway.
-
I like PGTW and surveillance together. Hex totems should be way more powerful than Ruin is at its current state. But I'm happy its working for you. Does it last longer than 1 minute though?
-
Maps are the problem. The stress comes from lack of time on a lot of maps. Hard to pressure anything when your walking your ass across 4 football fields.
-
I love piggy. By far my favorite killer in the game. However, I have been sticking to Billy and Spirit right now. High mobility killers is the only way to go in the current state of dbd.
-
I don't want old ruin back at this point in time. Taking ruin away magnified the real issue in this game which is unbalanced maps. Until they fix maps nothing is going to help improve the state of dbd. The upside to all of this is it has forced me to rethink my strategies and builds to optimize my performance. If they ever balance maps and get match making figured out. Killers who didnt quit the game and stuck it out will be better at their craft in the long run.

Maps are the second biggest issue. The company themselves are the biggest issue, unfortunately.
The game will never be good as long as the cooperate side of things prefers pumping in even more monetization into the game and making "balance" changes to make newbies happy so they get milk the teats of their wallets easier, rather than give a game crying out for help the medical attention it desperately needs.
The game still needs:
- Several Balance changes
- Several bug fixes
- Several Optimization fixes
- A proper options menu
- Proper dedicated servers
- Near a couple dozen map reworks
- A breath of fresh air to the current stale gameplay
- A better matchmaking system
- A proper separation between Solos and SWFs
- An easier and less daunting barrier of entry for new players
I cant argue with that list at all. I just feel like for me personally. If the maps were viable I could still enjoy the game while the devs figured the rest of it out.

I’ve edited my post. I meant map assets. Pallets, vaults, confusing structures that make it easy to lose LoS on killer. There’s far too many of them. It’s ludicrous that the devs have allowed for the possibility that just 1 survivor could potentially lead the killer around the entire map and never get caught if they’re familiar with all the tiles.
I agree some of the loops are ridiculous. I dont even chase a survivor's once I realize where their trying to lead me now a days. I just leave them and try and pressure gens.

Maps, but mostly the volume of assists that assist survivors in chases and greatly hinder killers in chases. Makes for a totally frustrating experience as killer.
I understand your frustrations about survivor perks. I however, feel like they can all be dealt with if I dont have to travel across the state of Texas to find them and initiate a chase. Time is the one thing you just cant get back in this game. Nothing punishes a killer like lost time.

I personally dont think there should be anymore nerfs or buffs until maps are fixed. Anything done before the maps are addressed will have to be redone afterwards most likely.
-
Very special brownies....
-
There is nothing wrong with BT. As a killer I hate it end game. But I understand why it's in the game.
-
When your playing killer it's ok tunnel. When your playing survivor it's not ok to tunnel. I think that's how it works.
-
@T2K said:
Tbh once you get in a lobby as survivor it doesnt matter if the killer dodges. With an open lobby you get a new killer like immediately. So just dodge.
Thanks for the heads up. I thought the survivors started over again. Nice to know if I dodge, I'm not screwing anyone over.

What if I find a key
Then your probably getting out honestly.

I think any honest person grounded in reality knows the truth. A lot of killers need a buff.
-
I'm a rank 13 and play consistently against rank 3-8 survivor's. At what rank does a killer have to reach to play casually? I'm getting donkey stomped almost every game.
-
@supman22 said:
I'm only a rank 10 killer not because I suck but because I don't have time to play a ton. But I keep getting paired with rank 1-6 survivors constantly. People who play the game a ton more than I do. It's kinda ridiculous any solutions?
I feel your pain. Rank 13 killer who plays about 6 hours a week. I have been playing against rank 3-8 survivors for the past 3 weeks. I have been trying to break down my mistakes, after the game is over to get better. But honestly, I am not even close to the skill level these guys are at. I have watched videos, asked questions on this forum, read whatever I could find to help me improve. It's not helping at all. I'm completely demoralized at this point in time.
-
Phone call had me late. Already loaded in on map by the time I got done. In my hurry put wireless headsets on wrong. Kept hearing survivors running and vaulting but could never find them. I was in a complete rage by the time I realized what the problem was.
-
Nerfing killers before fixing MM or Maps is just asinine at this point. Some people just love throwing gasoline on a dumpster fire it seems.

Bhvr dosen't like you but oh well, you did an excellent job.
On a serious note...
Why rework 5, 6? Survivor perks and only one killer perk? Do killer perks don't matter? Monstures shrine don't matter?
Thrill of the hunt?
Whispers?
Thrilling tremors?
Dying light?
Insidious?!
Shadowborn?
Lightborn?
BEAST OF PRAY?!
etc etc a whole list of them
You couldn't do 3 survivor perks and 3 killer perks?
And why tell us "Oh killer players need to start using different perks"(is basically what you said) when survivor do the same with adrenaline, dead hard, just the usual survivor meta perks. Yeah yeah, stop the killer meta perks and keep the survivor meta perks.
And you couldn't make it more obvious at the beginning that you guys just want money with the "if you want to get theses challenges just buy the character.......w-we have them on sale!" Hmm I remember you guys saying the archives are meant for casual players, but the rift grind and having to buy certain characters JUST TO DO CHALLENGES, seem to say otherwise. Like instead taking the opportunity to make more money by the archives because you perfectly timed to have your dlcs on sale and so you can monetized, actually do something better and help players who can't do it because they don't have some of the DLCs and don't want to waste money on a character that they won't like later on.
You want to continue cratering to the low rank survivors or new players and rob them of their money? Then I would change how we can do the archives, cause the way you guys have it really not for "casual players" and new players will be turned away from it.
Anyways, good job Space coconut, doing us the truth.
I dont understand why you dont just let it go? You dont play the game anymore. But you are still around here to trash it. Why hang on to a game that is run by dev's you obviously hate? You should take your passions and focus on something you like.

I think she's talking about after you kill the keyholder, unless they have certain add ons, once they die any of the other survivors can pick up the key.
Sure that's a possibility but it's a risk worth taking considering the alternative.

However, you do know how survivor items work right?
Yes, I do. I dont think I'm following your question though. What specifically are you eluding to?
-
I'm guilty of this as a killer. I try and get rid of the key holder as fast as possible. I just have no counter to keys. Im sweating my ass off as a killer nowadays in the current state of DBD. I dont face camp ever but I will tunnel. With a key in the game you can go from in control to de pip real fast.
-
I just wish it would deactivate when a survivor unhooked a teammate, healed a teammate, or worked on a gen. I understand why survivors run it. Especially since the ruin nerf.
-
No killer deserves a nerf. Billy is fine right were he is. Without ruin he is more valuable than ever.
-
Just back out of lobby. That's what I have been doing when I see 3 or more toolboxes.
-
I cant speak for any other killer just myself. I'm not going to tunnel or camp just to make survivors lives hell because of a decision the devs made. I have been playing without ruin for a week now and it is a little rough trying to slow the game down. I have been slugging early game to buy myself some time though. It's not the ideal way I would like to play the game but it's what I have to do to be effective in the games current state. I am a rank 12 killer who is going up against red ranks survivors 60% of the time.
-
Playing killer for a month changed my complete perspective on the game. More survivors should try it. I'm not talking about playing killer for a few games but a whole month. I was so glad to get back to playing survivor. Playing killer against good teams is ridiculously stressful.
You can always tell which survivor's have played killer at red ranks for awhile. They are a lot less toxic.
-
I got called a gen camper a couple of days ago.
-
I play on ps4 and the connection issues are terrible. I'm hoping that the issues are resolved soon. But after 2 weeks now I'm starting to think the problem isn't a top priority at the moment.
