it's total bs and needs a change asap.
what's the counterplay even if you realize someone is lurking around? leave your injured target to chase a healthy person? because unless you are huntress or knight you can't chase/pressure multiple people.

it does not matter if they are unlimited, if their effects are inconsequential like in that suggestion
so you agree they *have to* be shy with boon numbers?
-
basekit blight is fine, alc ring is tolerable to some degree but there is no way any survivor thinks c33, (or vial and speed) are okay.

why are we so shy about the survivor numbers
because boons are unlimited.

theres no cap :)
and if there is its REALLY high
that's so nice, thanks a lot. the category "reaches" max at like 30k or sth, it's hard to reach.
@JustAnotherNewbie said:
Why are BP per category capped anyway?
the only score event i wish went over cap would be chases and killer stuns because otherwise that would bear some issues like boon spamming and farming teammate unhooks. and on killer you would get even a hundred thousand with meme add ons and distressing.
-
i agree with the most points though. survivors are helpless when they get the killer's attention all the time in terms of event points which can be frustrating. but other issues are just your regular dbd playerbase unfortunately.
-
of course because so survivors can burn garden of garbage BADham and eyrie in a cycle. maps are objectively and admittedly -since they are reworking their maps nonstop- broken so i really don't know AT LEAST why offerings aren't gone yet. **** scratched mirror myers, not worth it.
-
participating is throwing most of the time, so not a good idea unless you are ahead. as survivor it's kind of whatever you are only a quarter of the team but as a losing killer you cannot afford going into the void and spend a minute there. it's an event just have fun but probably your teammate is using resources or even dying on hook while you are down there feeding ghosts, or opposing survivors destroy those gens in 3 minutes so the match isn't fun for anybody.
good amounts of bp tho i like it.

So if 1 remaining survivor left is an automatic loss, that means a 3K is an automatic 4K.
If every 3K is an automatic 4K, that increases kill rates across the board by 25%.
Furthermore, if being the last remaining survivor is an instant loss, and there's only two of you left, then there is no incentive to BE that last remaining survivor, when one of you is virtually guaranteed to be killed. Either there is no point in striving to be the last remaining survivor, or you do so and still end up losing anyway. This means every 2K is an automatic 3K, which we've established is an automatic 4K. This increases kill rates across the board by 50%.
With such an inflated kill rate, killers will need to be nerfed to a point where they have a roughly 50/50 chance on average of securing a 2K (de facto 4K) result.
if those 2 or 3ks happen at more than 3 gens yes, that would be a guaranteed 4k. but even after the killer is done with a tunnel there shouldn't be more than 2 gens left if the team doesn't do dull totems or chests.
If every 3K is an automatic 4K, that increases kill rates across the board by 25%.
end game exists. a 3k definitely doesn't mean an automatic 4k 100% of the time.
i don't know why people think an rng mechanic affecting kill rates, hence the game balance, is a good thing. shouldn't they see the actual kill rates and balance the game accordingly?

I feel like they were pretty rare last year too...but then again, I'm old and to remember something like that after a year has passed is asking a lot.
i was thinking of saving bps so maybe they fix it but i lost interest in that idea for some reason now lol. i'm trying to get one of everything on everyone but these bulbs are costing me a bit.
that's just crazy. on ace and david i got like 3 before 1 medkit but on some others i got one after 30 bloodwebs, and on some survivors i'm yet to get one. weird.

You want to nerf killers to the point that a 1v1 scenario with multiple generators to complete would be even odds?
Do you understand what that would mean?
no, that does not mean that at all. if the match came to a 1v1 with multiple gens left survivor team lost. all of them including the last one and they should also take the L.

@SOULWARRIOR71K said:
Ask the devs to get rid of hatch. This would solve your issue over night.
what? NO! hatch won't get removed and killers will always be content with a worse result when they can get better! you know what, killers should give hatch to the last survivor because it is good sports. otherwise you are a toxic entitled dirty killer main.
-
with hope mft, you can make 2 blinks worth of distance if nurse makes an oopsie.
-
free haunts from void realm and don't take them in the actual map and hope killer/survivors walk into one. just leave it for last and play normally i'd say
-
i've been playing lots of matches today they were fine i had fun, i only got a sweaty knight (surprise) who tunnelled the meg and camped every survivor after.
-
i started playing after watching a good amount of dbd streams so i don't remember being that much of a baby sadly
-
basement needs to go. other than that, mechanic gives enough room for you to safely unhook. you just can't go for an unhook and fully expect the killer to be nowhere around all the time.

I genuinely don't care about slugging for 4k but if you remove hatch what stops the survivor from stalling forever? Maybe aura reading after 60 seconds?
improved afk crows, killers having the ability to open gate by themselves after a set time has passed (even when multiple survivors are alive), even some "sudden death" mechanic would be better than this hatch bs where both last survivor and killer are like in a 1v1 and if survivor lasts more than some amount of time they escape instantly and if get downed they get moried. dealing with situations hatch is "dealing" is so easy, they are almost non-issues.

So survivors job is to offer themself to be killed?
it's not the killer's job to give last survivor the chance to get hatch.
-
how about the hiding survivor puts their ego aside and end the game by showing themselves? iT's NoT sUrVivOrS' jOb tO gEt KilLeD bla bla bla. yea so it is the killer's job to kill as many survivors as possible.
-
happened to me too, was about to create a post. i had one from yesterday but didn't get a second one after logging in today.
-
slug if they got downed in the open, otherwise face an object high enough. play some survivor with a flashlight so you'll have a better understanding of how they work and how you can or can't get an angle.

More kills may lead to killers nerf (if removing hatch increase the kill rate high enough).
Survivors usually suicide if they think they dont have a chance to escape. At least the hatch keep them play if there is no chance to finish Gen, and try to play for hatch. Without it, anything less than 5 Gens complete means 0% chance to escape, lead to more suicide and increase even more un-earned kill rate.
Further more, if 1 survivor escape requires 5 Gens done, the game has to be balanced around 5 Gens have to be done every - single - match.
personally the chance to get hatch/door doesn't motivate me to play a lost match because it's pointless, a waste of time and wouldn't satisfy me even if i could escape like that. and i absolutely hate when teammates/opposing survivors play with such motives.
killer getting a 4k is un-earned but a complete rng 2nd chance, and even a further 3rd chance to escape for the last survivor is earned somehow apparently.
balance-wise; you are arguing that hatch escapes have an impact on kill rates so it doesn't reflect the true balance in the game right? how is that a good thing then?

@ElionTron10 said:
Why is it even in the game? Some people really are slugging for 4k and they not even searching for the other guy they are just camping the guy on the ground its such a waste of time this game is not that serious.
Why is it even in the game?
because hatch exists :) hope this helps
-
more bps.
hook pressure is bigger than slug pressure. if i see the killer is slugging and especially if they are hovering the area i just stick to gens. 4 mins is a long time compared to 60 seconds (a hook state)
you actually need to be good at chase to keep up with people getting slugs up and resetting. one bad chase and all your pressure is gone, and now you don't have your hook state either.

Do you think there being a list of perks that are bad counters this post in any meaningful way? Surely you aren't under the impression this list comprises a majority of survivor perks, right?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3562064#Comment_3562064
To be fair, I'm not talking about niche healing perks like those three. Those three are weak, but other healing perks are not. We'll Make It, Botany Knowledge, Autodidact, Circle of Healing, even something like Desperate Measures can be genuinely very strong, especially in the right loadout.
oh yeah i love botany, and it is imho better than we'll make it. those are both solid perks. even the ones you call "weak" are nice perks, i slap solidarity when i use botany or autodicdic and resets are instant.
-
niche healing perks could see some use if hemorrhage completely didn't destroy them like resurgence, reactive healing and solidarity. tbf solidarity isn't affected that much since i comes into play while you reset so hemorrhage isn't taking effect but still.
even though i agree there are a few perks being overlooked; most survivor perks ARE in fact not worth running unfortunately.

Are you looking for an actual threat or someone to style-on and laugh at with your friends?
Just feel like we are going in the Party Clown direction. Killers are an annoyance at best and to most Survivors, a joke.
play however you like, be a threat if you can. don't try to entertain survivors if you aren't having fun, basic stuff. let them dc, let them suicide on hook if they don't like the challenge you provide who cares.

Not sure what people want out of survivors.
Holding M1 on gens too much is genrushing.
Any other sort of reaction that isn't on gens like sabo'ing, flashlights, Head On, FTP/Buckle, etc., then it's "bullying" the killer.
It's almost like killers just want effortless games void of any resistance or interaction from survivors.
this is a thing i'll never understand either, and people with such a view exist yes. "bully squads" are so much fun because you always have interaction instead of looking for people with distortion all match long. except ftp buckle up though, there is no interaction or a chance to counterplay for that.

Agreed, there are a ton of killer perks that need to be nerfed and have never been touched. UW, Opp, Jolt, Pop, NOED, NWO, BW, Hex DH, Hex PT
please tell me opp isn't oppression... and BW 💀
-
pain res jolt oppression (lol) entered the chat.
but no, just do/pressure central gens first and keep ones in safer areas and ones far away from the rest.
-
such perk can only be reasonable on haddonfield and on other maps it would be just either unnecessary oppressive or just useless

So when woo usage skyrocketed it is also because it was op? Lol.
Surv meta is trash compared to killer. Also I am not even running mft no copium here. Now go make another thread how mft is op and cope. Scapegoat 3% and cry for months until they nerf it.
Then you can jump on another survivor perk along with other forum killers to cry about.
i'm sure you don't use mft, just jumping on comments about it with peak whataboutism :)
but no, they released statistics without mft in top 10 and people were like "hey look how op this perk is, it's not even top 10" but it was op then and it still is but now statistics also say so. i thought right from the ptb that this perk is overtuned, unnecessarily strong and free. windows, self care and all that are just qol or comfort perks while mft is 2nd most used perk purely for its strength. it should be telling but i guess not.
killer meta is and was always more or less a bunch of slowdown perks, because otherwise matches end in 5 mins.
-
i love dead dawg and all macmillan maps on both sides. i don't mind ormond autohaven and swamp, they are all nice balanced maps.
yamaoka tends to be weak depending on rng, new alien map is kinda bad for survivor, midwich is midwich and 2 farm maps got nerfed into nothingness so don't like them as survivor.
the rest are disgustingly survivor sided.

So much mental gymnastics to cover up the hipocrisy. Unreal.
No insidious is not an issue because by your logic it is not used much so it must be fine.
Let us focus on the meta here and stay on topic.
You shrugged all the killer meta like it is nothing. When in fact, slapping anti gen is still strong af and affects the game more than some joke insidious ever will.
Inb4 context matters. You cant just say that whenever I point the double standards, it doesnt work like that chief.
And your excuse for double standards is "it was in duh shrine". Mft was also in shrine. So what now?
About the killer usage, that is not even a topic but I will bite. Are you forgetting people playing on console when you look at most played killers?
You people will say anything to push the killer narrative to the point you are straight up dismissing any surv issue on this forum. And blow up anything survs have to fight into oblivion.
Surv meta is a joke compared to before and nowhere near the strength and value of the killer meta. Also take your mft you can have it. It is nowhere near some perks we had before so it won't affect me in the slightest.
Might as well just run woo since that is the best surv perk. Yeah you read it right, in 2023 dbd a perk that shows you where pallets are is the best perk. That is how far we got. While killers can slap pain res, deadlock and dms and get a huge value almost every match unless they can't chase.
its usage rates skyrocketed because it's op. simple. it isn't anything fancy or interesting it's just flat movement speed so usage rates should be related to its strength no doubt. even if it wasn't 2nd most used perk despite being relatively new and tied to a paid dlc, any sane and somewhat experienced player could still tell it's a very strong perk if not broken. just keep coping if it's what you would like but that perk is getting its deserved nerf sooner or later.
-
depends on the pallet, the killer you are playing and how the survivor you're chasing plays pallets.
-
why would they bring them back when they want people to not facecamp lol

hit validation.
-
cleanse if your teammates do, don't if they don't. being perma injured while she is getting fed her power isn't the best thing you can do. unfortunately it is a choice, it's her power. either you are permanently one hit and noisy or you give her her power.
-
what exactly are you asking, is this a request/suggestion or a question? do you want to be able to turn your hex totems into dulls on demand as killer, or change its location with another dull totem?
-
i don't remember the last time i got a blatant cheater. hopefully they are taking care of the issue if people actually encounter many hackers.
-
there used to be very few killers i didn't play, but i actively try to keep myself off of weaker killers lately, let's just say because of some meta perk. oni, wesker, singu (despite him still being affected by said meta perk) and nurse.
-
killer - nowhere to hide because not camping and patrolling some gens like a good nice killer just to find noone is annoying and i don't want to regret not camping.
survivor - botany. it's just so free and healing feels like such a chore without it.

yes, i realized it after posting that comment. doesn't change much though, because they aren't trying to validate or justify the playstyle, they are just arguing the perks (in a combo and/or by themselves) aren't balanced.
