can't wait to see crowd control and machine learning complaints very soon. just admit you want killers to go perkless so everyone knows to not take any of these complaints seriously. i do know it, but devs will nerf the only useful perk class left because of babies crying, once again.

I mean, I trust his judgment more than I would trust the judgment of most of the Forum Users. And in fact, I dont really see much difference between the new window and the already existing upstairs window. And since the window below is gone, there is not really anything where the Survivor can get in time.
Unless it is to a different tile, but this is nothing new.
so you think that window is on par with front upstairs window which is a guaranteed hit if killer knows and chases the right way? with that extra window both sides have a safe window so killer can't zone the survivor off one.
i agree with most of hens' takes but he doesn't speak god's words, he is simply wrong here. this window would only be acceptable if badham didn't have variables and that side of the house was always a dead zone.
a map 85% of forum users voted that it is heavily survivor sided and the only ever change in years to it is up for debate whether it's a nerf or a buff, it's kind of insane.
-
they asked none of their consultants about that change lol. however it should've been an obviously horrible change, consultants or not.

"eyrie".

not gonna lie i'd feel awkward if someone thanked me in egc for playing nice. the tiniest sign of acknowledgement and appreciation would be more than enough, and it's completely okay if they play normally and do nothing nice or rude.
-
i like the idea of hexes lighting up after first activation.
fixing totem spawns might take long, but an easier initial step would be getting rid of guaranteed spawns, and then likely spawns; if there is a totem at an LT wall you know exactly where it will be.

some of you forget that if survivor find the hex so quickly it's because the maps are shrink.
or maybe it's because they spawned right next to the totem, or the totem shines right in survivors' eyes while they are doing a generator. dead dawg is a quite small map, might be the smallest, yet its totem placements are very decent.
-
deathslinger, trapper (yes), spirit.
they are still far from my least fav killers but i hate nemesis zombies and how bad gf's reveal mechanic is.
-
after my potato pc map offerings are the reason for this. i'll play survivor here and there but you can play only one side for so long until it gets super boring.
i'll just parrot myself; even if all maps were balanced (they are FAR from that) map offerings still wouldn't be fair. map offerings existing with current preschool, haddonfield eyrie gideon etc is just funny, it's no surprise people abuse the hell out of them. i got enough cakes for every killer so i wouldn't play a match without burning one but at this rate i can safely assume we will be going to some awful map via an offering and most of my killers don't have enough (or any) sac wards so i don't really want to even log in anymore.

"wants it easy" and it's just randomized maps lmaoooooo. what does eyrie/badham offering survivors want here then?
-
sorry but i laughed at this, she actually did that for 4 straight minutes without getting tired or bored.
it's not bannable. i won't say "unfortunately" because it shouldn't be, just how any other bm isn't as long as it's not verbal.
if it makes you feel better killers also face such behavior especially at gates, and if you are about wasting time you should see matches of 2 survivors taking the killer hostage for half an hour. however there should be base game mechanics to combat those situations.
-
i'll repeat again; windows isn't a problem, majority of maps supporting insta dropping survivors with enough pallets is. killers shouldn't lose 3-4 gens for chasing a survivor running yellow to yellow, inefficient looping should have a cost in the long run but there is no long run after such chases because there will only be 1 gen left.
-
punishing mr. nice guy gameplay, such a classic. if slugging isn't disincentivized killers will know what to do.

At least the ptb version was a sidegrade that could be used by agressive players...
This one just sucks. Straight up.
yea i thought ptb version would be a very strong chase perk that only activates in chase, right when a good looper would rather it does. this one doesn't look horrible to me either. 30 seconds per token might be a bit too long, but the direction they are going with the perk is good.
-
i think it's time they can customize and balance BL for each individual map. on some you only reach tier 1, on some you don't get it and on some you get each tier per 10 seconds in chase.
-
depends on the killer. genetic limits might not give value if they are better off staying injured or you can one shot them.
i generally don't feel like i need to run anti exhaustion perks/add ons (except spirit), but i think it's your best shot if you need one. also survivors won't trigger it outside of a radius around you and people either won't stay around you or sit on gens so other people eating the perk shouldn't be much of a concern.
-
first, why shouldn't they? don't stack as 3-4 survivors, don't throw for pick up saves, do gens and you should be fine against slugging.
second, they do this because hook related perks are crazy strong and "anti tunnel" (MASSIVE QUOTATION MARKS) perks are infuriating to deal with if survivors choose to abuse them so here you go. ds buff on top of broken otr comes with a cost.
this is chaos shuffle but that's a playstyle established and went rampant as a result of said perks.

original pain just needs to be base kit along with Iridescent Configuration and Impaling Wire.
og pain and lament config i definitely don't think so, and i'd go for chain buffs instead of basekit impaling wire especially after a long range chain so his anti loop isn't way too strong.
we are talking here like those changes won't be nerfs but one can only hope lol.
-
people don't know how to play against slugging and will have 4 hook related perks and no anti slugging perk, that's mostly why survivors don't like facing it.
knock out is disproportionately stronger against soloq and not the healthiest perk but 4 man slugging doesn't even work without it (unless the killer is a top tier m2 killer anyway). i think they can add a secondary feature to an anti slug perk that counteracts knock out's aura block.
-
unpopular opinion, iri seal is fine. it's the only way she gets her power by herself. she doesn't need any other change either other than projectile buffs and fixes. her puke is jank.
pinhead definitely can use an og pain nerf or a rework to the add on, and environmental chain break improvements (bit harder to break) but that's mostly it. it would be so sad if they get heavy nerfs or unnecessary buffs, they are already in a good spot.

there's a direct link between kill rates and people not wanting to play against a killer though. you can literally see that happening in skull merchant's case. people giving up is the reason WHY she has such a high kill rate.
i don't care about skull merchant, she could get deleted i personally wouldnt gaf but from an objective POV this just sets a very bad precedent and i don't like where they're going with this balance philosophy and i dont want to see this happen to other killers
yes her kill rates are inflated because of survivors letting go, AND IT IS A BIGGER ISSUE THAN HER ACTUALLY BEING OP. it kinda baffles me how much of a non issue some people see a killer being unbearable to play against.
though i'll say again, they handled the situation very poorly. screw skull merchant, but they shouldn't completely kill a killer for a year.
-
hook states are a resource but no-hook survivors still shouldn't take hits or throw themselves at the killer to get some attention, essentially waste time. in such situations i just do gens non stop, especially important and/or risky gens.

But you should be able to loop the majority. And that isn't really possible anymore.
i still think there is almost always something you can do. some loops are guaranteed hit against certain killers (4 lanes vs huntress/pyramid head, long ways without any turns vs nurse, long non-chainable pallet loops vs doc etc.) but imo you can always play something on the map against any given killer, even the most non gameplay killers like chucky and xeno.
-
you can't loop every killer like m1s
-
- limit the amount of gen slowdown perks killers can use to 2
- bring some strong basekit game mechanic to combat tunneling
- increase gen times. by 20 charges?
these would be my suggestions. assuming we aren't asking for further straight gen slowdown nerfs without anything else.
-
i used to farm green medkits with it. the perk's death was inevitable with the downfall of op green medkits.
i think it should give a green med kit once and have a secondary (strong and consistent) functionality on top, just like scavenger and residual manifest. i don't think making the faster opening a permanent effect would save the perk.
-
oni is perfect they shouldn't ever touch him.
He has to have one of the worst early games out of all the killers.
one of the worst? obviously. the worst? no that has to be hag.
it's not only the downs he gets during his power, he'll have injured survivors afterwards to collect blood from. although you need to be good with his power and get at least one down with all your power gauge especially if survivors are healing or it's early game all over again.
you'd be right about billy comparison if flicks weren't a thing but with them oni's capabilities and lethality in power is way better than billy.
-
i thought it was them messing with incentives to promote lights out but apparently they are completely broken since then. i've been only getting 25-50 survivor incentive during the day, normally it should never drop below 100% (or switch to killer) in my region and mmr.
no idea about killer incentives, not playing in evenings lately.
-
it's not reportable. should it be? it is refusing to participate in normal gameplay at that point but one can still argue it's a strategic decision; 4% exists. so i don't think it should be reportable especially since they can't do it indefinitely, match is still over after 4 mins.

Absolutely, that's why I specified "if I see them early enough". Some people make it too obvious what they're up to.
yes sometimes you see what's coming miles away. but in one of my recent games on dds someone sabod a hook, got hit and killer just hooked me on another like 10-15 meters away lol
-
@LordGlint said:
It typically happens in corner areas. Alot of times if a survivor goes down in the corner, there's only 1 possible hook to get to. It can similarly be problematic in spots like downstairs in the preschool. If the basement doesn't spawn down there, you have to make sure to break the doors to even have a CHANCE of reaching the closest hook outside since there's no hooks inside the school.
I also imagine they want to have SOME counterplay to sabo as well. If I pick up a survivor and see their teammate running to the hook early enough, I should have a different hook to walk to instead. That 1 hook shouldn't be the ONLY option.
That 1 hook shouldn't be the ONLY option.
you should be able to switch to another on your way but i really don't think you should be able to make it to another hook after having your primary one sabotaged and hitting the saboteur, assuming you had to walk a bit to reach the hook as well.
-
i also think hooks tend to be unnecessarily close to each other.
-
i thought you were gonna talk about camping tunneling etc. you or the other survivor should stop being a baby and take the L so the match ends. if you have the right to hide for hatch and it's all okay, killer can slug for 4k all they want, simple. the difference is they deserved the 4k if you can't even touch a gen anymore, and survivors don't deserve an escape.
-
twins is considered one of the few top strongest killers, sm is the single most hated killer in the game and plague is really strong. also we don't know what they will do to them, hopefully not much because either pinhead or plague doesn't need any changes (except og pain).
unknown nerf to his photo add on is awful, hopefully it doesn't go live.
-
i'm sorry but i won't reply to this with anything deeper than "if you get 4 man slugged it's a massive skill issue".
you can argue they should make it so match ends with all survivors slugged for a set amount of time to prevent bleedouts but if you voice or defend this dumb idea you never played killer and saw yourself that killers are sometimes forced to slug.

Well there are two things BHVR can do to address this then:
- Keep the rarity; Increase the duration and make it only apply on hits after using Flight of the Damned or a short duration after using Mage Hand.
- Drop the rarity; Keep the effect and duration.
Also getting a hit with their power is not necessary difficult, it's moreso that it fundamentally rewards the Killer for using their power and making good plays; which either requires skill or effort. This addon design is just weird to be since it is the inverse of what we normally see, you are actively discouraged from using your power if you want to get value from this addon.
45s is actually nothing, it could be brown or even basekit and still would do nothing so it wouldn't be a solution.
vecna is mostly an m1 killer, only 1 out of his 4 spells is damaging. the add on can be tied to "violent caster" score event (m1 within a few seconds after using a spell) instead of survivors' carried magic items so it would be more in line with wraith.
-
@Iron_Cutlass said:
I think the reason why it has a smaller duration is because the "Magic Items" are intended to be the counterplay for Vecna. If you make an addon that punishes Survivors by engaging with the counterplay, it could be deemed too strong.
When you look at other Mangled addons, it normally requires the Killer to engage with their own power in a way that requires some level of skill or effort to pull off; this addon is the opposite, the Survivors need to engage in counterplay and you dont use your power in an effective manner to get the hit.
it normally requires the Killer to engage with their own power in a way that requires some level of skill or effort to pull off
i can't think of any other killer than pyramid head (edit: and unknown) whose power is harder to hit than an m1 so i don't agree having to hit with power is much of a challenge for almost any killer. i agree with the sentiment that it would be punishing counterplay, but it's a purple add on just for sloppy effect, and we also have for example iri umbrella badge for nemesis that exposes survivors for using a vaccine, horn for wesker that applies oblivious for spraying etc.

The conclussion I ended up with is that they nerfed it so it wouldnt be the only addon used (vecna's addons suck ass)
that's just wrong. he doesn't really have a must bring s+ tier add on (which is a good thing) but his add ons are overall good and useful imo. 4/5 of his greens are great, bag of holding and yellow potion are very strong, his iris are also okay.
-
object of obsession and no mither. those should get you in low enough mmr that you will face killers as bad as useless teammates we always get.
joke aside, i personally don't get those "you might as well get sacrificed and would be more useful" type of teammates crazy often.
-
wish that was true for me as well, those lobbies are so much fun to play in.
pallet saves are bs since killers can't bodyblock either side of the pallet, was even more so with buffed 200% bgp but flashlight/bang saves are very easily managable in my opinion.

Seems bugged. Normal mode gets the same queue incentives as always for me, and I've never seen above 100% incentive for Lights Out mode.
i got lights out at 200%, it dropped to 100% and then 75%. seventy five percent, i have never seen it before anywhere.

-
gens are fast and some maps are broken including gideon. they should finally fix those broken maps but i really don't know if you can just increase gen times because only efficient and good survivors can make a match go this way, other especially soloq survivors will suffer from such a change.

So do DbD players NEED to constantly be complaining about something, or...?
It seems like every time I get notified about this site, it's somebody posting the most over the top, dramatic nothing complaints.
The BP don't actively affect the game. If you're only playing for them and not for the actual enjoyment of the game, and this new mode upsets you THIS much because you aren't getting your full BP...you aren't enjoying the game and need to step back.
Go play something else. Genuinely. I do not understand this communities refusal to just play other things when they aren't having fun with the current events or new killers that everyone is spamming.
@this_CouchPotato said:
I can't tell if OP is being serious throughout the post. Yes Lights Out isn't all that fun compared to the other limited modes, but being mad for BP incentive being taken away? Sounds like you've only started playing DBD recently. BP incentive is a pretty recent thing, and if you're only playing because of that, then just drop the game. You definitely aren't enjoying it enough.
you are both missing my point. i care about bps yes, but it obviously isn't the only thing i play dbd for. 50% bonus is not the end of the world, the thing that irks me is the fact they are trying to force us to play the game mode. they can put gamemode exclusive challenges and unlockables tied to them all they want, they can put 20000% bp incentive to the game mode as well, but why take ######### away from normal game mode to make people go play lights out? is it a nice thing? i'm genuinely surprised there is no other soul uncomfortable with this.

yup, they went super safe with that one unfortunately. 45s is nothing.

yes I agree - although I may not have articulated myself very well in my original post, ultimately what you said about wanting to not stress about the game and enjoy the game (whether playing chill or wanting to win) is something I very very much believe in and hope whatever changes happen help in that goal and counteract the current environment of increasing hostility on both sides which is harming the game.
i agree that people take everything so personally and act out of spite, and that it creates a very toxic atmosphere. hopefully devs can get rid of the ways players can take the anger out on others, mainly imo tunneling and map offerings. of course not all cases are happening out of spite, but still.
though i don't know what they could do to make it so for example a killer doesn't see a sabo play as a personal attack

you're upset over getting only 50% max multiplier and refuse to play normal dbd over it because that dictates whether or not you want to play dbd? didn't know ppl played this game for the bp and not because you know, they enjoyed the game…
bit ironic. you don't like the mode but won't play normal dbd and thus will continue to be a data point for them despite your desire of not wanting to be one. mmkay
thank you for your reply that at least addresses points i made. yes i care about bp, and more specifically i don't want to play survivor without the full 100% incentive because we have it like 70% of the time anyways, and killer queues are quite long in the daytime.
-
for me personally, i don't get offended by many things because i play much worse when i get emotional and will throw the whole match, also i want to chill and relax not to stress about the video game i want to enjoy. the only "offenses" for me when i'm playing killer are (especially extended) bodyblocks with anti tunnel mechanics and map offerings; them being broken aside, that's more of the reason i try to avoid map offerings.
also trying to get your anger out on other players in a video game sounds very silly. "punishing" survivors? come on.
on the counterability of the "punishments": tunneling is unhealthy and should be dealt with finally, camping got addressed in many ways and slugging is fine as is. game just needs to end as soon as all 4 survivors are slugged for a certain period of time but that's mostly it.

Yeah, you are both right, I guess. But it still stands that this is not a good way of how this whole fiasco was resolved. If something proves to be too hard or unpopular, survivors can easily koop out instead of getting better and adapting, and maybe this even gets the thing nerved.
There are other killers that have a very high drop-out rate of survivors, I am sure you have noticed this against Legion (many hate the way they are constantly stabbed and need to mend, apparently with little counterplay) or Plague (healing is just taken out of the game in matches against her, potentially invalidating a survivors entire build) and to a lesser extend Clown, though it got much better since his bottles don't mess up survivors visuals anymore.
I would hate any of this killers to somehow get caught up in a massive "exit by hook" movement, too, even though I am not overly concerned that such a thing could be orchestrated by outside forces, but it could still happen that enough survivors decide "Ah another Plague … NEXT." and then she gets nerfed because of that.
But it still stands that this is not a good way of how this whole fiasco was resolved.
oh i agree, they let sm be this way 1 year just to freeze her in time and rework her even later. they are incredibly slow at doing things and how this whole sm situation is being handled is horrendous. but sm being unhealthy and put on the chopping block can't be degraded to "crybaby survivors", is all i'm saying.
-
tons of survivors "protested" by killing on hook and artificially raising the kill rate
apparently people not liking something they have to play against to the point they refuse to doesn't mean anything to you (or other people alike). kill rates being inflated by suicides doesn't make the killer any healthier.
-
general answer is just try to have fun and don't mind winning or losing. if you really want to win for some reason though, i don't know the answer against a swf of 4 really good survivors. you might have a chance with top tier killers i suppose like billy, blight and spirit.
