This discussion has come up so many times. The devs seem to think it'll be abused and might make queue times worse (tbh I think if someone is getting blocked so much they're having trouble finding a game, then maybe it's deserved...). Anyway, I've said before we should each get like 5 or so block spaces each so can only block a limited number of people.
The devs think it'll be abused and make queue times worse because most would block for any reason.there be a lot of blocked people if it happened.

How are they not the same? They're both the most efficient way of playing the way in almost any situation and also incredibly unfun for the other side. Like I don't understand why one is fine and just 'playing the game' and the other one isn't.
Also, don't use the term gaslighting in such a way, it waters down a very serious term.
he must only play survivors because it is the same.

boons are useless now like more then ever.

it been fine and I play solo I got all cosmetics i can get and got all of tome 1 of this event done.

like to know whats a fun killer? one that a party clown for the survivors.

I've been noticing killers cheating too. I encountered a Bight who had the pallet-breaking power of Compound 33 but didn't have it equipped. After that, had a Leatherface who instantly recharged his chainsaw after breaking pallets despite having an add-on that increased the charge time.
Another thing I hate about Made For This is that it makes it easier for survivors to speedhack without being noticed. Then there's the teleporting, flying, and infinite flashlights.
I think Bight can still break pallets with his power with out Compound 33.
-
Killers have the right try get a 4k just like survivors have the right 4 man out
slugging for the 4k or 99% the exit gate for last save there no difference.
-
I've never received the newsletters never will because it never worked.
-
I play both side and have a lot of hours in both roles,I feel solo not that hard I escape mostly of my matches, what makes solo feel hard is who the killer is and how your team works.
I don't escape every match but your not meant too same with killer your not meant to 4k every match but killer is still the harder role. it depends on the killer you use and perks and add on used and map you end up on some killers will have easy time but a lot will have a hard time because most can't handle a match.
in other words both role can feel hard but the game is 1v4 game so the killer role is always harder.
also remember this game is random anything can happen to turn the match around.

I understand what you are saying that both situation aim for the best outcome in each side. Yet again, i still think it isnt fair to compare them both when you consider the risks.
I had hundreds upon hundreds of games were a killer camped one survivor in endgame and managed to get a 2k/3k, even a 4k. As i said before, a surprise NOED, STBFL, maybe a Blood Warden, using instadown addons and powers, hooking the survivor in a hill or the basement. Obviously, this isnt to say it's guaranteed you can always snowball into a +2k but there is a realistic chance you can pull it off.
Instead, i could count the amount of times 2 survivors managed to pull off an escape from a situation where the killer is slugging for the 4k while one gen remains with one hand.
I do understand what your say as well but my point still stands I feel there is risk for the killer this game so random anything can happen in a match to really funny to total BS on both sides.

Everytime this topic comes up, my answer will always be the same.
Why are you at the hook anyways that this is an issue?
There is 4 survivors. 1 hooked, 1 getting them off the hook and 2 working on gens.
You are focused on the 2 who are not a threat (needing to unhook, and heal and get back into working on a gen) vs using any of the really useful information perks and going after the other 2 who are working to finish gens.
If you aren't near a hook, this would never be an issue.
Hook.
Leave.
Find a new survivor on a gen and attack.
Repeat.
If they use it when there is only 2 survivors left, welp that's a fair down as you've clearly not tunneled.
But if you are near the hook when 4 survivors are still up (unless they follow you to hook like a moron) then you should never have a problem.
dude some survivors unhook right after I hook someone they like right behind me when I hook someone and if the unhook survivor body block for them that on them they asking to be tunnel at that point.

First of all, i said slugging for the 4k in the "2survivors, +1gen" has no risk, which isnt what OP said as the gens were already done.
Second, how many times do you realisticaly see a survivor run the entire nwo timer, run four times around the map, heal the teammate, run two more times and then get out?? That's why i said the "unless they massively outplay the killer" part.
You can play in whatever way you like. I am pointing out that there is far more risks in getting an endgame save than slugging for a 4k.
what I'm saying is if there two survivors left you guys already lost but the killers wants a 4k and the hatch normally cheat killers out of it.also slugging does not always work unless you want to be a jerk and blood everyone out for less points.
now with the end game save if there are 3 healthy survivors one on hook killers going to want that 1k because it's the only thing left killer lost now if the 3 healthy survivors go for the save with all speed boosted and endurance and body blocking there good chance they all get out.
see
1K=hatch
end game save 3 healthy survivors=slugging for the 4k
both are risky and not fun
but why can survivors do it but killers can't?
there not much different between the two.
edit
I also feel that slugging all 4 survivors letting them blood out and not hooking is the same as survivors all staying at the exit gate t bagging waiting for the killer to come both are pointless.
-
Rovend sidenote
what you said: Compare it to the "2survivors, +1gens" situations were most of the "slugging for the 4k" usually happen, there is no perk that can make those 2 survivors recover from that situation. Even if the 3rd survivor recovers with unbreakable, they can't repair their way out unless they massively outplay the killer. So there is no risk in slugging for the 4k, no chance of survivors 'snowballing' a 2E.
now Compare that to 3 healthy survivors try for the save and using perks that give them speed and endurance with 99% exit gate near and the hook survivor gets free speed and endurance and body block all the way to the exit gate
now what is the killer to do in this situation? lets say this one killer is with out an instadown power/addons
also NOED does not last long when survivors can see the aura of the totem, survivors normally will find it before making the save
killer would have to be lucky to hook them near the hex totem to get anything out of it normally if that happens all 3 survivors would leave.
-
@Rovend said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3556614#Comment_3556614
I believe those two situations are different when you consider the risk involved.
When 3 survivors try an endgame save, the killer has far better options to not only secure that 1k on the hook but also snowball into a 2k/3k. NOED exists, STBFL exists, instadown power/addons exists, even without them you can still manage to down and kill a survivor when they try to save. So those 3 survivors have to take a risk in going for a save.
Compare it to the "2survivors, +1gens" situations were most of the "slugging for the 4k" usually happen, there is no perk that can make those 2 survivors recover from that situation. Even if the 3rd survivor recovers with unbreakable, they can't repair their way out unless they massively outplay the killer. So there is no risk in slugging for the 4k, no chance of survivors 'snowballing' a 2E.
there is no risk in slugging for the 4k? you kidding the OP in this thread tells you the risks in slugging for the 4k
slugging for the 4k is never 100% just like 3 survivors try an endgame save not 100% but going for either is the same (best possible outcome) in a match.
now why can survivors try to go for best possible outcome but killers can't? both are risky but both try for the same thing the best possible outcome in the match.

Agree 100%. I always respect killers that don't do that slug stuff for their 4k. It's like just end it already!
let me ask you something when you totally stump a killer (all 4 still alive) but killer gets one of you on hook when the last gen gets done,do you and the other 2 gang up on the killer after 99% the exit gates just so you can have 4 man out?
if yes then you a hypocrisy because that and slugging for the 4k both not fun.

that would literally be perfect. or if they stay in the exit for too long the exit will be blocked temporarily
I like Melinko idea.
my point still stands tho slugging for the 4k is just like 3 survivors ganging up on the killer trying to save the 4th off hook that after they 99% the exit gates so they can have 4 man out there no differents to that and slugging for the 4k both not fun for the other side.
but as long as survivors are able to do that when the killer has a really bad game then killer should be able to slug for the 4k when the survivors have a really bad game.

I main killer as well. I very rarely slug for the 4k. I think it's boring. However, the 4k is the best possible outcome for the killer and there is nothing wrong with someone wanting to gain the extra points.
I think the flaw is the hatch that enables this. Without it, the killer would not have to slug. I'm more for a "final chase". If the survivor gets chased long enough, they get the escape. That's better for me than an anti climatic : hey I found it before you, now I tbag you until you arrive / now I have to patrol gates until the survivor shows up.
yea I want the best possible outcome as killer I know slugging sucks but I understand why they do it. also isn't slugging for the 4k just like when killer camps at endgame trying to securing 1 kill and the survivors 99% the exit gates then all 3 survivors gang up on the killer so they can get they 4 man out.
you think that fun for the killer? and it happen way to much...

You can literally push them out ?????????? still on killer's agency ??
Also that's exactly why we just leave and go to the next game ??????
Your comment doesn't make sense
why sure we go to the exit gate to push them out when we loss?
I had one survivor stay till the last sec no one what left
also had another survivor 1 making noise jumping through something
what is with survivors? push survivors out is not the killer job killing survivors and trying stop gen is are job.
what does survivors get out be so toxic and entitled?
-
thing makes solo hard is normally one or two survivors not playing right or troll I sometime feel survivors are better killer then the killer is.
like I played a where I tried get my self off hook and got to 2nd stat but was still hitting the skill check because I saw someone coming well the survivor who came just kept doing the unhooking animation but not unhooking me kept doing till I die and as they did that the killer was getting everyone else
they was anther survivor watching as it was happen I PM them they acted like I was in the wrong because I try get my self off hook
anyway that just one but they soo many thing survivor do to other survivor that throws the game make it not fun
survivors blocking other survivors so they killer can get them or so that survivor can't move.
survivors who wont go for save or heal(I had a game where I heal someone and after they run away when I'm still injured or I saved everyone in the game when I finally get hooked no comes fun times)
I had survivors open locks I'm in because they know I'm in there for some odd reason mostly to let the killer know I'm in they(and no I never hide in locks the whole time tho there survivors who do or miss skill check over and over again and going in and out of windows.
I bet most unfair survivor death are from other survivors not the killer.

I just think it's dumb to get mad at the other side for playing the game.
Survivors cannot win unless you do the gens. So why should someone be mad that survivors are doing gens. Killers need to chase survivors to kill them, so why should a sirvivor be mad that the killer is chasing him.
It's just stupid. They are just playing the game.
I didn't say it wasn't stupid it is but they still do get mad.

You would in this state of the game, but when killers ask for survivors to chill and interact that means survivors chasing the killer, with flashlights. Ain't no way survivors are winning this game.
It's not that hard to understand, if survivors play around wanting to be chased and stuff, they cannot come back from it. A killer having no deaths by EGC can come back and end up with 3k-4k. The second scenario is more common than the first.
Right now killer has comeback potential at all stages of the game, survivors don't. Once they lose 2 people they can only tie or lose.
You do fine in solo, how about your team? Do you get out 3 of you as consistently as you do fine or do you refer to you individually. Cause you escaping and everyone else dying isn't a win for your team. Killer won that game.
in solo just today I got 4 man out 2 time normal it a tie before all gens are done.
i still help people sometime that what gets me killed,I mean another match today I got 3 man out and I was the one killed for saving someone.
now should that be a win or a lose for me?
i don't like leaving people on hook tho it happens to me.

Because if you chase everyone for 2 mins each, you can win. They can't. There are no more pallets left. How will they do their gens? You just made the whole map a deadzone. Maybe if pallets respawned then survivors wouldn't fall off after 1 is dead and the map is used up. Then you'd get more chill games as killer.
Of course killers chill when playing survivor, you just forgot to tell us that you don't care about winning as much when playing survivors as you do as killer. Or are you gonna tell me now you run Solo survivor, Left behind and Low profile?
no I never used those perks I do use many survivor builds and I do fine in solo.
btw if I chased each survivor for 2 min I'm sure I lose.

The 'chase' is the pvp part of the 1v4 PvP game. If you aren't playing to enjoy the chase, what are you playing for?
Kicking gens? Holding a 3 gen for an hour?
You don't want to mind game at a loop, or have the survivor hold w away from that loop either. That basically leaves griefing as the 'fun' part.
I'm genuinely curious why someone would insist on playing a pvp game if you are actively saying the pvp part isn't fun in any capacity.
I think it having fun killing survivors with are favorite slashers from horror movies.
I miss the horror and scare part of this game why i still play jump scare myers or what ever killer that can.

"Dont forget that killers actually need to be having fun to continue playing. Most of the changes over the game's lifespan focus on the idea of survivors having fun with little thought for the killer. Things are fine if you play one of the top 5 killers but everything else kinda sucks."
Exactly.
This is the point I was trying to make @jesterkind with respect to the evolution of the core gameplay from stealth to pursuit.
The "chase" elongation and focus might be great for Survivors and their entertainment, but it simply isn't fun for Killers, and BHVR has done nothing to attempt to make it more entertaining for Killers.
- How many times am I supposed to circle the same car in Haddonfield before it's reasonable to complain?
- How many times am I supposed to chase the same Survivor up that stupid tractor?
Does anyone really believe this is "fun"? There is no "mindgame" here, they can clearly see if I go right or left, and the circle is large enough that it will take awhile to catch them. It's boring and frustrating.
I understand "the chase" is the fun part of DBD for Survivors, and the desire to have them run longer for those players, but it really isn't particularly fun for Killers. ESPECIALLY when every moment in chase is reducing the Killer's chance of success, as generators are flying. Taking the original game and simply adding longer/more frequent chases isn't sufficient. The "hunt" was a big part of the enjoyment for Killer. Now the Survivors just run straight up to you. What is supposed to have taken it's place in the game's evolution?
I used to only play Survivor for dailies/event goals, but now I play it to relax.
Exactly.Exactly.
someone gets it wish the dev did.

bots I'm sure get boring, survivor bot are one thing but killer bots I'm sure would get boring.
I can escape 8 times perkless with survivor for the power move trophy on both ps4 and ps5 then survivor not that hard.
this was solo too
-
ok survivors don't want killers to camp, tunnel, slug, kick gens, run slow down perks or kill them....now no farming which I don't see that often.
so what do survivors want? don't say chases that bull because how fast gens go that can't be it.
