Anyone who thinks Wraith isn't C tier, get a 25 win streak with him. Ultimately, a killer's strength is tied to their ability to kill survivors and the most objective way to evaluate their strength is to look at their kill rate and ability to win streak.
S tier = 100+ win streak
A tier = 50 win streak
B tier = 25 win streak
Wraith is high B tier low A tier in this meta 100%

Have you seen what some people class as tunnelling? Have you see what some people class as camping? Or how people complain about slugging when there’s two people nearby waiting for pallet saves or flashlight blinds?
I was watching a streamer play the other day. They were playing plague on rotten fields against a solid bunch of survivor players. 1 Gen left, no kills. Plague randomly finds David on death hook, the last person they hooked, deliberately staying infected to avoid cleansing and working on a Gen. Plague downs and hooks David sacrificing him. Within one minute this dude was in the chat complaining about being tunnelled out. One anecdote you say? There are hundreds of these incidents happening in this game every day, denying that would be silly.
Tunnelling and camping have almost lost all meaning. In their extreme versions yes they are obnoxious and should be worked on (which is why the face camping mechanic is coming). But there is undoubtedly an extremely large amount of the player base who think a killer who hooks someone in a 3 Gen zone should willingly leave that area when a survivor wiggles their booty and tried to lead them to the other side of the map. Or if you find the last survivor you unhooked still injured and working on gens you should leave them so you don’t tunnel. There is too much player entitlement around elimination in this game trying to enforce people to play by made up rules and unwritten etiquette.
You mention the one anecdote and then say that it happens hundreds of times. You think the actual valid complaints about it don’t happen?? I can 100% guarantee you that I see some form of hardcore camping, tunneling, or slugging in 30-40% of my games. It’s not rare.

It’s the biggest exaggeration in the game’s entire community.
Not true at all, there’s a reason there are so many complaints about it.
-
Eh, it’s definitely a bit of an exaggeration but it’s based in the truth.
It feels like this game has been programmed to have its on nights and it’s off nights.
Some nights me and my duo get the most fun killers and enjoyable games and others we get 5 Blights in a row running alc ring and compound that tunnel the first dude out in 2 minutes.
Those games stick in peoples heads as miserable experiences can overshadow enjoyable ones.

Mortal Kombat 11, killer would have to be Shao Kahn, Scorpion, or Sub Zero.
Can you imagine a “GET OVER HERE” voice line attached to Deathslingers gun

So what did BHVR do about it? It feels like killer mains want survivors to waste time with inefficient healing (not doing gens) but don’t want to expressly say this because it would sound unreasonable.
Circle of healing dropped essentially
-
Playing with a duo recently has enlightened me into how many hours you truly need to get good at this game. My partner has 1000 hours over the course of years still makes some of the most rookie mistakes I’ve seen out of anybody. Bombs hooks, doesn’t do gens, doesn’t know how various killer powers work, doesn’t know what a lot of perks do, chases last 20 seconds, etc.
I think I genuinely have a higher escape rate in solo queue lol.
-
Gen defense isn’t as strong as it used to be but that doesn’t mean it’s still not strong. Everyone and their mother runs either Pop, Pain Res, Jolt or some combination of those. Corrupt is still strong as well.
The game is in its most balanced state it’s been in. You’re not meant to win every game, that’s how multiplayer games work.
Learn from your mistakes and losses, I guarantee that you could do something in every game that could have gotten you a win, there’s very few situations where you’re truly screwed as killer from the start of the match.

How is he anything like any of those killers 😭
I can see Demo and Blight but Nurse Legion and Nemi?? 💀💀

I've missed his chase music so much.
Nothing better than the whole Orchestra following you around.
-
No, you're definitely right. Was playing Legion for a couple games yesterday purely for the Malicious emblem challenge and noticed I couldn't get over a gold no matter how well I played. It has to be 1 or 2 in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if they count mending as "injuries healed" now.

What time investment does Blight need? He probably has the absolute lowest skill floor in the game. Against survivors that have a rough time against Wraith, Blight is strong enough just running around the map and playing M1 killer.
Lowest skill floor in the game?? 95% of the roster has a lower skill floor than blight
-
It has nothing to do with him being unique and people not liking that and has everything to do with the fact that you can’t use his power in 90% of scenarios.

This entire forum is a laughably survivor biased
You clearly haven’t been on the forums very long if you think this. The forums are definitely more killer leaning.

@Xernoton said:
Wraith is still not all that strong. He's alright but his base kit lacks power that can only be compensated by addons. And his addons, while strong, are far from overpowered. Overall Wraith is decent but definitely not anywhere near an A tier killer. Maybe B tier but that's about as far as I'd go.
This 'age of Wraith' is not gonna happen. Why play Wraith for this when you could play Blight and outperfom Wraith with only his base kit?
Because blight requires time investment, skill, and game knowledge. Wraith requires little to none of these. He’s the easiest killer to pick up, play and win with.

They said it require them to completely rework the killswitch system which they should in the future so this issue doesn't happen again
That’s a shame. I don’t really even play Wesker but just more so feel bad that people can’t get the cakes they’ve waited a year for on him.

We completely understand the frustration of our players and the team is hard at work in attempting to resolve the issue that has kept The Mastermind kill switched. Please remember that even if Wesker may not be available at the start of the Event, the Event does go on for quite a long time so we're not saying that he will not be available throughout the entire event.
Is it possible at all for him to be selected and not played so you can put bloodpoints into him or is this something that would require too much work?
It seems most people would be satisfied with this solution.

Yes it means the gens aren't being done, or at the very least they're being done slowly, but so what? It isnt always about whether gens are getting done or not. Some people just don't like getting flashlight-blinded or losing people to flashlight saves. Having the survivors following them all game may well be benificial to a killer but if that killer just doesn't like dealing with flashlights then it makes sense to run Lightborn.
To each their own, if you like running lightborn by all means run it. All I’m saying is that a lot of people don’t realize that people going for saves can be just as beneficial if not more for killer as it can be for survivor.

Also when we are going to see Made for This to get nerfed ? how long does M1 Killer are going to be frustrating to Play because of this Perk ? 3% haste doesnt Sounds like much but it is its kinda impossible to catch the Survivor expecially when u playing a Killer whitout Chase and loop Power like Sadako it takes so long to get the Survivor the Perk is unhealthy like old DH :/
I’d love for him to get buffed when the anniversary drops but I’m not getting my hopes up until the mid-chapter honestly.

If there's multiple survivors with flashlights there isn't always something the killer -can- do, that's the thing.
If there are multiple survivors going for flashlight saves that means at least 3 of the 4 of them are doing nothing to progress the game and it gives you an incredible opportunity to snowball. The amount of games I’ve seen teams and my team throw by trying to get saves like this is wayyy more than the times it actually works out.
There’s always something you can do as killer in this scenario.

It’s not so easy as you paint it. If that were the case then nobody would bring flashlights period.
survivors still bring flashlights because they are still good. And there are some scenarios where you can’t just look at a wall (Coldwind farm)
so the perk definitely isn’t useless
Like he said, flashlights are easily counterable. Lightborn is a waste of a perk slot and forces the survivors to actually do their objective. If you’re out in the open and worried about getting flashlight saved just fake the pickup and bait them out, that way you get more pressure and still have four perks.
-
“Ruining survivors fun is fun” is a weird mentality.

Exactly. A benign argument. This is like comparing a whale to a shark because they’re both in the ocean.
-
I feel like Skull Merchant was supposed to be Predator but my guess is that the license fell through halfway into development. They share a bunch of similarities and would explain why she feels a bit rushed.
My guess would be either Xenomorph or The Thing. If they go for a more modern movie I’d guess The Nun from the Conjurings or Candyman from Jordan Peele’s version.
-
Why run no mither? Why intentionally nerf yourself and by extension your team for a 3% speed boost and 9% boosts when you can just not heal after you get hit the first time.
-
@mustdogen said:
Maybe because it is not only a 'good' perk.
You can't really blame for people complaining about a MOM level perk,it just too broken.
And by the way, survivor usually got useful perk nearly every patch, the only reason you may not see people running new perk is because survivor really has too much choice right now but only has four perk slots.
Saying this perk is MoM level tells me you clearly never played when MoM was meta. This perk is nowhere close to it.
Holy hyperbole.

Btw could you ask team to look into sensitivity on controller when switching to camera view?
I play on console and have it on 100% because it makes close range hits precise, however when I switch to camera, aiming with that sens is too difficult, it could use lower sens.
But I dont want to lower my sens just because of it. Would that be possible to lower the sens on controller a bit when switching to camera view while keeping the sens you play with normally?
More controller settings in general would be a godsend. Also adding more hotkeys instead of just “action” “interaction” would be great

If the best killer player cannot win against the best SWF, it is not a skill nerf that is needed but a proper balance to the game.
The game should be balanced around high skill level, not around average players.
No, this is how you kill your playerbase. This game is not meant for competitive play and 95% of its playerbase is casual players.

Whenever I see these, I just assume they are PC-oriented.
Nurse is outright horrible on console. I can't even imagine the hours needed to make her decent. Also, I've never faced a decent Nurse, and I've been playing since Chapter 7, or earlier, was released (I actually don't know when I started, 2017 or 2018).
Hag has no place on the A Tier, unless maybe on a small map?
Twins above Doctor? Wraith below Leatherface and JUST above Trickster & Clown? I can't see it.
Also, Spirit is massively over-rated post debuffs, IMO. I used to main her as Killer (she is my only P10, everyone else is P3 or P1), but her hitbox is so sh!t, I'd rather play Trapper these days. Legion has the same issue.
If the list is targeted at the top 1% of PC players, I have nothing to contribute, but the list is also of no value to me.
I play Nurse on console and can outright tell you that she’s the best killer in the game. There are for sure harder killers to play on console. Her difficulty is mad overrated and she’s 100% playable at a high level. Once you get her blink timings down it’s all about gaging how people play and reacting.
I also find it pretty shocking you’ve never played a good nurse in the 5-6 years you’ve been playing the game.

Thing is, I'm usually the most level-headed when it comes to new chapter impressions, I'm usually right there giving every doubt it's benefit, finding the good in whatever mixed bag they give us. I can't see it in this killer at all. This is the first time I've been instantly disappointed, and can't find a way to redeem it.
I've played against him several times as a solo survivor. I haven't failed to have constant access to EMPs, and I haven't failed to completely delete his power when he tries to use it. The only times he did any damage was when he stopped using his power and just played as a powerless M1 killer. I've played as him a few times, and haven't been able to teleport to any survivor, because as soon as I activate a pod, it gets instantly EMP'ed.
It seems from watching other streamers who manage to use him well, that his power only works in chase, as in you shoot survivors directly. This simply isn't feasible on controller. He's Trickster all over again.
I’ve been playing him on controller and aiming while using the cameras definitely takes some getting used to but shooting survivors once infected is no problem at all.
He’s nothing close to Trickster in the aim regard in my opinion.
-
Knight’s easily one of the most frustrating killers to play against. Nothing feels worse than feeling like you have zero option but to die. Trickster on an open map/loop feels the same.

You can TELL when people are playing to win versus playing to be an ######### just for the sake of it. You can give them an excuse by saying, "oh, they're just role-playing" but that's ######### weak in my opinion. Your main goal shouldn't be TRYING to be an #########. You want to win at any cost? That's totally fine. You wanna make other people miserable because you think it's fun? Get help.
This is the point I’ve been trying to make this whole time. It’s not hard to distinguish between people playing for wins and people playing to be #########. People aren’t bleeding out guys for 4 minutes because they’re scared they won’t get to a hook, they do it to get a reaction.

The points I've made while assumptive in nature are based on your arguments, see you can put forward an idea providing you have a unbiased rationale for it and can identify it as just an idea. I did both those things something most people posting here haven't done about their own assumptions.
Ok great so you don't DC but why then would you put it forward as the "only option" (those are your words) when faced with slugging/camping or other in game mechanics you don't seem to like? <- This is a legit question and the basis for any clearly identified assumptions I may have made about your play style.
Why would you propose people DC as their only option in response to in game mechanics? When that's blatantly untrue and against game and forum rules.
That strikes me as a very impatient mindset to have if you'd rather DC than wait out a game timer.
Ok so you see it every other game... well yeah you are going to see mechanics in game, camping, slugging and bleeding out are in game mechanics its not a revelation to say you see them frequently in game.
The question is if you fixate on these things because you think they are bad how often do you overestimate their impact?
How often do you call something camping/tunneling when it really isn't?
How often do you use them as excuses for bad game outcome?
How often does your dislike of these things override your ability to understand why someone might do that in game given the current game circumstances?
Have you ever asked yourself these questions before jumping on the game mechanics excuse bandwagon with the rest of the people who take this stuff to seriously?
I'm genuinely curious because you made some pretty concrete statements in this thread stating how you think the game should be played.
I'm not saying people never act maliciously in game but when you assume nothing but maliciousness all the time then your only ruining your own game experience so why do that to yourself?
I literally just meant that your only options when getting bled out for 4 minutes are to wait doing nothing for 4 minutes or to DC. That’s it. You’re looking into this wayyyy too hard man.
-
I honestly don't really like any aspects of it.
I think the art style is somewhat cool but its way too colorful and busy for my eyes, it's hard to distinguish what's an obstacle and what is simply flora.

Edit: I missed answering the first point. Sure the devs said hey its a party game but that doesn't mean it has to be specifically played as a party game and a party game only. Players will have different motivations to play and that's ok in fact its healthy.
Heck even a fun party game when played head to head can be played competitively. It is possible to engage in competition and not hate each other at the end over the outcome. That's called being a grown up.
I didn't call your personal experience false only that its hyperbolic in nature.
I lends itself to extremes which are likely not the genuine case and overblown to serve your point.
Saying "I lose a lot is different from saying I lose every game, the latter statement is an exaggerated version of I lose a lot.
Sorry but I don't buy that you are getting bled out every other game, but I'd wager you fixate on it when you do bleed out, making it feel like every other game. That fixation has led you to the forums today to commiserate with others whom also fixate on it
I'm also leaning toward the idea that you quit a lot when you do bleed out which is an assumption but one I'll put forward as you said the only option is to DC when stuck like that.
Yeah being slugged and bleeding out is part of the game, so yeah its gameplay.
Now a mechanic to bleed out quicker if you are the last player slugged might be a way to stop impatient people like yourself getting grumpy about it but like I said before we aren't discussing that are we.
For a guy that says making assumptions about other people is bad you just rifled off about 8 on me lol.
I didn’t say it happens to me personally every other game, I said I see it happen every other game. One of my teammates will get tunneled, camped, or hardcore slugged every other game. This is my experience as of late. And no, I don’t DC when I get bled out for 4 minutes because I know it happens enough to the point where I’d be eating a 30 minute matchmaking penalty on the daily.
Stop acting so high and mighty and practice what you preach.

They’re just extremely rare for some reason.

I didn't read in the DBD tutorial the part about it being solely a party game. I like how you've defined the nature of the game for yourself and all other views are non existent. I guess everyone just has to agree with you on that eh?
New flash some people will play it competitively, some thematically, some casually all are just as legit as each other and may clash with your view of the game.
Getting bled out is actually a great example of loss of agency, you can't do much but crawl and bleed that's a pretty good example of loss of agency. If you take issue with the time it takes then great but as I said that's a different discussion to what's being discussed here.
DC isn't your only option, because well you bleed out after 4 mins, so that's a nonsense point that says more about your personal sense of impatience than the mechanic itself.
Its looking less and less like you are here for a discussion, based on your first point which basically says "there is one way to play DBD and it will never be anything but that."
Does that sound like a discussion to you? Sounds more like an echo chamber statement rather than a discussion point to me.
The devs have said on multiple accounts that DbD is a party game. It was created as such and it was the players that tried to change that. You have enough posts for me to know that you know that this game is not meant for competitive play. Also, saying you’re able to play the game when slugged for 4 minutes is hilarious. Wow, you can crawl like a snail as you wait for the inevitable.
Calling personal experiences false then backing up with your own personal experience is also anecdotal and proves nothing. I see hardcore slugging and camping in every other game, this is my experience, yours doesn’t change that. I’m not saying this happens to everybody but I see this frequently enough for it to become problematic.

Why shouldn't it?
You do realize that the entire premise of the game is to either impose (as killer) or avoid (as survivor) non-participation in various forms.
The loss of agency is a core part of DBD, and a core part of the visceral slasher genre that DBD is trying to emulate.
If people want to discuss options/mechanics to lessen the wait especially when the game is clearly over etc then lets do it, great... but that's clearly not the topic of this thread.
This topic seems to be more about player motivation and is rife with assumptions about just that.
DbD is a party game first and foremost, always has been, always will be. As much as people try to make it competitive it never will be simply due to the nature of the game.
Loss of agency should not equate to getting bled out for 4 minutes straight or getting taken out of the match within 2 minutes of it starting with your only option being to DC and eat the penalty. This is fundamentally bad game design and the reason a majority of people leave the game.
People will always optimize the fun out of games and this goes for both sides. Players 100% share the blame in scenarios like these and deserve to be a part of the discussion.

And you would be wrong because in that 15 seconds the survivors ran away from gens and teammates and now found a pallet which if broken resets the bloodlust timer. Restart the entire process. The killer is alone so anything they do that isn't killing is a waste.
What do you want lmao?? Killers can’t have it all, they act like the 10 seconds of added gen time was nothing but act like 15 seconds to activate bloodlust is half the game. Let’s not act like a 30-45 second chase is super long. That’s enough time to activate bloodlust twice.

- If you only play half of a game, then that actually sounds like a ego problem.
- Thats why people should play both roles in order to gain empathy towards the other role.
An ego problem for people that prefer to play survivor over killer?? You’ve completely lost me.
I play both sides and still have zero empathy for people who make you sit through 4 minute bleed outs or camp at 5 gens, was I supposed to be enlightened by playing killer on why these are “valid strategies” and not just a huge waste of time for everybody involved?

You fail to understand that even 3 seconds is a lot of time for a killer to catch up and the "requirement" for sprint burst or lithe aren't even requirements. Exhaustion perks like nurse, just kill all balance because you cant buff or nerf them without making them completely useless or broken. Better off just completey reworking them/removing them.
We can’t just keep nerfing / removing the fun aspects of the game for the sake of balance.
The game is in its most balanced state ever yet there are constant complaints that it’s the most miserable it’s ever been.
Balance does not always equate to fun.
