I'm kind of holding out hope that something special is coming with the new survivor. I doubt it but it'd be a pleasant surprise if there is
-
Change maps and its add-on rarity. They shouldn't be so hard to find.

My friends and me were also worried about that. This Pop and Pain Res combo is so ######### annoying! Like every game Killers tunnel to get their Pop or Pain Res value and hump us on the ground at like 3 gens.. yeah doing 7-8 gens every game is really fun, amazing meta to be playing. I rather go back to the old Eruption meta 🙄
"I rather go back to the old Eruption meta"

Aaaaaand the knee-jerk reactions start. Didn't take long. Survivors are not going to purposely 3 gen themselves lol one of the issues with killers zoning was that they would quickly go through survivor resources and quickly create deadzones. Survivors creating 3 gen zones will burn through pallets faster than killers will burn through their 8 regression events, which will quickly turn the tide in favour of the killer. This is not efficient. No one will be doing that on purpose.
-
Oh 100%. The reaction of some people has surprised me. Those who 3 gen will be upset, but the devs knew that would be the case, but those same people can't see the forest for the trees. I don't even think 3 genning got hit that hard, especially on certain maps where 3 gens spawn close to each other. The gen tap nerf will still help them hold a 3 gen.
-
Yeah this change was a massive let down. If I have to be close enough to a gen that my solo queue team mates can hear a terror radius, then chances are they are not sitting on that gen. Solo team mates aren't doing gens with the killer nearby. Not worth a perk slot.

I feel like the people complaining will go quiet once they can actually try it out and realize how much of a non-issue the limit is.
Agree. I think people are being way too dramatic.

This is one of those changes that don't even need to be tried out
If full condemnation would just expose the survivor or anything like it, sure
But the fact that Sadako can mori them, its just too much
From a solo queue perspective, I can guarantee the way this will work out is if a survivor is hooked with a high number of Condemned, they're just going to let go or DC. Not being able to remove Condemned is just going to make people feel like there's no point in continuing the game once they reach a certain point. That won't be evident in the PTB, but I know how it'll go from 3 years of experience in solo queue.
-
Reading your comments, it seems like your preferred method of gameplay is exactly why these changes are being implemented in the first place. You might enjoy dragging games out but majority of players aren't interested. Slowdown is slowdown, and that's what you're still getting. You aren't supposed to be able to stall gens completely.

Fun fact - I have seen a Survivor (an actual player) trying to save a Bot in Endgame. And they both died in the end. So some people seem to care for a Bots life.
But totally agree, they should be programmed to trade. The Killer will still get their Kill (or two, if they get the unhooked Survivor as well) and nobody cares (or should care..) if a Bot dies.
I was trying to do a 2 unhook tome challenge once but another survivor kept greeding them all. When a bot got hooked in endgame I opened the exit gate and went back for them to get my challenge done lol the other survivor followed me on my kamikaze Bot rescue mission for some reason. The bot immediately left upon unhook and the other survivor and I died 🤣
-
?, Dwight (can see a bit of his glasses) Meg (can see her braids), Trapper (weapon visible) (L-R). Not sure on the first but probably Legion
-
They never said you're not going to find yourself in tricky situations that are tough to come back from. 3 survivors alive and healthy in endgame, and 1 survivor hooked right in front of an open exit gate is one of those situations.
-
It's not the exit gate opening that bothers me, it's that they immediately leave lmao
-
Most people on winstreaks will disregard games against obvious cheaters
-
Matchmaking in this game leaves alot to be desired, but in general if you win alot then your games are supposed to get harder (per a dev). I would assume that if you're losing alot then eventually you'll settle at an MMR where your opponents are more on your level. I say assume because who knows anymore.
-
They probably don't realize. I'm ready pretty much immediately but there's been a few times my kids have distracted me or I just haven't realized everyone is waiting on me. I feel bad.
-
I think it's at the point where everyone in solo expects to die so they're not trying anymore, or all just play for different reasons like dailies or tome challenges.
-
Not the worst imo. But the colour scheme makes it hard to navigate. Dunno if that's just a me thing though.

This might be because she doesn't look like Sigourney Weaver. I know a streamer that was really looking forward to Ellen when the Alien chapter was announced, and wanted to P 100 her, but when we found out Ellen didn't get Sigourney's likeness, they lost interest. I completely understand.
Same situation for me. Was planning to play Ripley as one of my mains but since they couldn't get Weaver's likeness i just lost interest
-
I don't really enjoy killer and only played a handful. Wraith was very easy to learn, I think he should be lower.
-
I don't think lobby shopping makes it any better tbh. There's a streamer I watch sometimes out of interest who plays survivor and lobby shops his team. Yet the team he shops for inevitably ends up letting him down anyway (or he let's them down, he's sadly not a good team mate). I could be way off but I never check team mates hours and yet always feel like matchmaking tends to give two team mates on par with or slightly better in skill than the killer, and two less experienced survivors. I sometimes get teams that I feel are perfectly on par with me but they are so so rare.
-
I walked away with 18k and a -1 pip the other day. I'm positive that sometimes it glitches. I did plenty that game before I died and not even a safety pip? Nah.
-
If Rancid Abattoir and the first reworked Borgo are anything to go by, there will be 8 pallets and more deadzones

It is an amazing break of luck.
He drops down and is facing away from you. You move ever so slightly forward behind his back, meaning as he turns right you are out of his view/he doesn't just bump into you.
He then turns right again as you take a step back, putting yourself behind him
He then makes another right turn to check the area that would have been behind him when he dropped.
If he makes one more right turn, he catches you, but instead he now makes a left turn and doubles back on his route.
He probably sees some scratch marks or something (don't know if you were running) and goes to check the end of the hall.
You move into the other hall and he checks that one. Now before you moved to that hall I hear a gen go off, so it is possible he is not looking for you now but is instead going for that (because otherwise it is pretty lucky guess to pick the hall you chose as that one he doesn't have a reason to go down as he visually checked it earlier).
As he goes down the hall it is kind of hard to tell where exactly he is looking. Even without shadowborn you might be in his view (I was kind of surprised you had not crouched behind the box), but he might just be more focused on that gen that went off and thus just missed you.
Yeah I wasn't sure which direction he was going, so didn't crouch in case his vision was based on movement like a T-Rex lol
@Peanits said:
Crogers nailed it. Realistically, that Killer was never quite looking at you - you never even entered the red stain. A slightly wider FOV might have made it easier to spot you, but even then people tend to focus on the middle of their screen more than the absolute edges, so it's still unlikely they would have noticed you even if the slightly wider FOV would have let them see you.
Cheers. So the slider isn't something that would probably take a huge amount of adapting to from a survivors perspective?
-
Nah. As more and more killers get released, SM will be seen less and less anyway. Especially once the 3 gen solution comes out, since I still come across SMs trying it out.
-
@crogers271 said:
Maybe, but probably not. When he drops down he is looking away from you. When he looks around's he's never really that close to having you in his view.
Cheers. So it was basically just luck. Even at the very end he walks past me again but I guess I blended into the environment a bit too well.
-
Not a fan of Mikaela's outfit but I love Haddies, even with the backpack, and finally a sweet one for Zarina 😍
-
The only thing that awaits them in high MMR is misery. If they want to subject themselves to that then so be it. Sucks for the person on the ground though.
-
It's a small price to pay tbh. Plus it'll be in store next Christmas so buying it then is an option
-
I've played for 3 years and been part of DBD communities for as long, and it has always been complained about. Along with camping, it's the most complained about thing I've seen in this game.
-
@Ariel_Starshine said:
Don't know what either is. Had to look it up. One looks like Chucky Cheese and I'll take the DD one over that.
I'm not that old at all and my niece was like YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY IS? No, I don't really keep up with all that.
It's popular among kids, though it has its older fans too. It would be a massive hit for DBD, but I think in exchange the quality of the game would suffer (personal opinion obviously). I think most games would be the FNAF killer, which would get old fast, and alot more young teens and even kids would probably start playing (because if parents let their kids play FNAF, they'd probably have no qualms about letting them play FNAF in DBD too. Not my kids though - DBD is mum's game lol).
As an aside, here's the lil FNAF fan in my life 🥰 I'm not the best at costumes but she was happy 🤣
-
I just find the screams annoying asf tbh. And CS has too big a downside to run just to turn off the screams. Playing less on headphones helps. Had a Nurse using it last night and it was crazy good on her of course.
-
It could simply be that because each game requires 4 survivors and 1 killer, it may simply take a bit longer to find 4 relatively suitable survivors to team up and they need a bigger pool to pick from. Matchmaking in solo queue has been a hot topic lately and we know they're messing around with matchmaking currently (eg soft cap raising) so it's possible they're messing around with it again. Longer queue times are normal if matchmaking is stricter. We'll see anyway.
-
Finally saw one! Was on hook in endgame and watching this Feng's aura zooming around. She had no speed perks, and kept stopping at hooks and sabo'ing in like 1 second to annoy the killer I guess with loud noise notifications. I didn't record and upload but reported post-game.
-
Had this ridiculously long game yesterday. Had the same scratch mirror Myers with Midwich offering for *3* games in a row. I used a different survivor in each game, on anonymous mode, but all with Boons Circle of Healing and Shadow Step. Third game he must have realised it was me again ruining his fun with Shadow Step, so he was gunning only for me (understandable tbh). But despite him hitting and leaving my team mates in his quest to kill me (they had my CoH to fix that), they were all too scared to touch gens! He didn't even chase them. Even with Shadow Step hiding their auras the only gen that got done was by me. And they werent new players either. Once I was gone, and my boons with me, it was a blood bath. I didn't want to ruin this Myers day a 4th time so shut the game down.

And to think it was once a good map for survivors.
It is the opposite of The Game: what used to be a great map for killers became an improved version of Pallet Town.
True. I don't mind the reworking but they seem to go way overboard sometimes (or not enough, in the case of GoJ).

It's a seven-year-old PVP game and there's nothing else like it. Skills from other games don't transfer over. It's an impossible task to make it friendly to new players. The only way to attempt to overcome this is to have a friend or a group of friends who can help you get up to speed.
It's the same for any other game that's been established forever. DOTA 2? Miserable for new players. Any online shooter? Miserable for new players if you don't have years of online shooter experience. Fighting games? Miserable for new players unless you're willing to lose most of your games for months. You need friends if you want to get into established games.
DOTA 2 specifically has infinite money and resources and put a ton of effort into making the game more accessible for new players and it's still a miserable experience unless you're the type of person who enjoys learning through losing repeatedly.
True. But matchmaking *is* within their power, and seems to be the primary gripe that alot of people - including OP in this very thread - seem to take issue with. A brand new player shouldn't be playing with or against folk with thousands of hours. As someone else mentioned, killers have the option to opt out of matchmaking (ie lobby shop) which renders the mechanic even more unstable. They could start there?
-
Special mention needed for Rancid Abattoir. Deadzones, barely any pallets and what pallets there are are generally unsafe. I call that map the gen rush map. It's the only map I make an effort to just smash the gens out on because the pallets are all gone so fast, so need to get out asap.

I did feel games were more consistent with the old system. I remember purposely staying in purple rank because I had the chillest games there. As soon as I hit gold they started getting sweaty. Purple was the sweet spot lol

i suspect that there will be another strong exhaustion/looping perk because of MFT being destroyed/gutted into obscurity.
My prediction is the new perks will revolve around stealth. Be interesting to see.
-
Region and MMR play a part. I was in mid MMR on my Switch when I moved over to PS5 where I was low MMR upon starting. My Switch would have 100% Survivor incentive at the same time my PS5 would have 100% Killer incentive for awhile there.
-
Yeah, it's not new player friendly. Which kind of blows my mind since you think they'd want to retain new players, not drive them away. Matchmaking in general in this game is confusing tbh.

claire should've been a character, She was a main protagonist in 3 games. Sheva should've been a character, she was a main playable character in 1 game. Ashley is a side character, plot device, she should not be more than a skin. Ashley is exactly what the legendary skins should be used for.
As a massive Resident Evil fan, it really is kind of stupid that Rebecca got a character slot over Claire.
but lets be honest, playing resident evil characters not named ada is bad. Ada is the only one who can't be heard moaning across the map. Leon, Claire, Jill, Rebecca are all so damn loud you're playing at a disadvantage playing them.
I'm not an RE fan but I play Sheva a fair bit and she's super quiet too
-
It's been like that for awhile. Some hits are incredibly frustrating. If the Killer has bad internet or is VPNing, then unfortunately that works to their advantage - on their side it shows you close to them while on your end you're further away. I played against a Legion the other day and I was halfway down a drop when I got hit. It's games like that it's really hard to fight the urge to ragequit lol

Not really.
Mikaela is cute survivor and her costumes are good. When you unlock perks, you don't have to play this survivor again. But yet, Mikaela is one of the top survivors.
I remember the week she came out, it was just lobbies full of Mikaela and everyone was running CoH. She didn't have any decent cosmetics on release but BHVR started pumping them out after that, likely because her sales were so high. Perhaps she is played alot now because of her cosmetics, but I do think she sold well on release due to her Boon perks. They were a new type of perk, and CoH was extremely good.
-
It's been my Exhaustion perk of choice since it first got released. I use it all the time. It comes in clutch a fair bit. It also throws killers off because it's not used as much as other exhaustion perks so they don't expect it.

No not really talking perks wise I mean if you play 1/3 matches there's a good chance you'll see a Mikaela she's everywhere, that kind of impact
She's everywhere because everyone bought her for her perks (namely COH)
