Journalism is pretty much dead. It's all just click or rage bait. This isn't an exception.

I don't play her but I get why people give up. If there's one killer who is likely to slug you and hump you on the ground while you bleed out, it's her. For some reason she attracts some pretty unpleasant people. There are obviously those who play her normally, but I feel like she attracts a decent number of trolls too. Having said all that, it's been awhile since I've seen a team mate DC or let go on hook against her. So I can't say it's been that bad.
-
It's a noob trap perk designed to help the killer. Can't convince me otherwise. I'm glad I've so far avoided having team mates use it, even those doing Sable's adept haven't bothered using it.
-
I don't expect to win if I'm running fun builds instead of strong ones. That's just common sense. If you could win with fun builds then you'd absolutely steamroll with strong ones.

It does not need this penalty.
People who talked about this Perk being potentially good saw it as a fair trade-off, but it really is not. Because aside from spending a huge amount of time in the Basement not progressing the game, you will put one Teammate at a disadvantage who will be broken for the remainder of the Trial. And being broken is a bad thing, we all know this, seeing that No Mither is not used at all (and would even give Benefits which are probably better than Invocation, lol).
Because in the end, having 10 charges knocked off of every Gen would also mean that the moment you are finished, the Killer can go to the Basement (if they are close by) and knock the Survivor down. And even if this is not happening, this Survivor is a target for tunneling. And then it is questionable if removing 10 charges of each Gen is worth at least one Survivor not on Gens for a long time AND potentially having an early 3v1 afterwards, because that Survivor is a target for tunneling.
IMO they should just scrap Invocation-Perks before they get too invested in them. The first one is already a failure, it will not get better from that. Make a new Perk, "Weaving Spiders" (without Invocation) and just give it a new effect. Invocations are already a failed concept, just dont push it further like Boons and rather create Perks without Invocation in mind.
"Survivor not on Gens for a long time AND potentially having an early 3v1 afterwards, because that Survivor is a target for tunneling"
I thought the whole 'this is a killer perk' thing was amusing, but I'm starting to genuinely think it is. I remember when BHVR acknowledged in previous patch notes that taking someone out of the game early was hard for survivors to come back from. Now here we have a perk with very little plus sides but massive downsides, that take a survivor out of the game for 2 min and then makes them ripe for tunnelling, or at least easier to remove, on account of being broken. This is such a noob trap perk that pretty much immediately damns any team that has someone using it.
Why waste time and resources updating killers when you can just give clueless survivors tools to inadvertently help them instead?
-
When I got it the site said there were only 39 left to claim. They went super fast, I think within a matter of hours. I only found out about it via a discord group
-
That killer thanks you for your service 🫡
-
Unless they changed it recently then no, they don't get the Adept for bleed outs

Everytime I play Pig the survivors rush gens and pre-run to safe loops regardless if they see me or not. I've not once experienced the boop the snoot thing.
In over 3 years of playing, I tried to boop the snoot *once* and it did not go well. So I never tried again. Every time I've booped it's because Piggy herself has requested it before I leave.

Wait I’m confused. First she said she was potentially gonna pursue legal action and she felt ’tricked’ by BHVR and stuff but now she’s… saying we should back off because BHVR isn’t responsible for people using the character to harass transwomen?? I’m totally confused now. What exactly is she wanting people to do here? I know she’s saying ‘leave it alone’ but what does that even mean now?
I'm wondering if some of the playerbase approached her and convinced her she'd been duped or something, and BHVR of course had to assure her that no, that wasn't their intention. I just hope this situation doesn't stop the team from giving more opportunities to trans actors (who notoriously struggle to break out in the entertainment industry). It's hard because BHVR have been able to more or less curb major leaks recently and obviously keeping most of their employees in the dark is how they did it. Obviously the VA was not aware of why she was kept in the dark (or she was but some players have convinced her it was something more nefarious). It seems things are clear to her now and she wants the furore to calm down now.

Alright, quick update:
Apparently it has been out for a few hours now, but the VA released a statement on Twitter about the situation.
https://twitter.com/Zoeyalexandria9/status/1768359653501452651
Thanks @GoodBoyKaru for sharing it on a different thread.
And it looks like the skins aren't going away! Well, this is a relief.
I gotta say I was expecting the worst here.
I didn't realize it had gotten to this point (though I'm not too big on social media, especially twitter) that people were calling for a boycott. The devs have done nothing wrong. The VA not being in the know was likely because of them trying to contain the leaks, nothing nefarious.
-
There's numerous instances in the game where this could happen, like if you and another person are working on a gen together and UW or BBQ goes off. It's just one of those things.
-
It's gotta be hard when it comes to reporting because they have to sift through all the reports on tunnelling, teabagging, camping, looping, etc, that waste their time just to get to cases like this. I can see why taking the tools away from bigots is the easiest option.
-
I understand where you are coming from, but per the lore the Unknown is simply trying to pass as human. The fact that the cosmetics can be mixed and are not locked to gender shows an inclusive reflection (imo) of society in the Unknown's perspective.
If certain people choose to twist this, well that doesn't particularly surprise me. There are bigots everywhere and unfortunately they're not going away.
-
It'd be handy but i doubt they'll do it. It would probably lead to more lobby dodging. Like if someone brings Sole Survivor, Left Behind, Low Profile and Self Care that person would probably struggle to find a game 🤣
-
She's not my main but this is my fit lol
-
I'd give them a pass for the first week. It's a new mechanic, they wanna test it out. They'll stop soon once they repeatedly get caught by BBQ and Chilli or killers checking basement for that survivor who has conveniently been missing for awhile. Or maybe after watching their team mates die on first hook one too many times. Regardless, they'll soon catch on that it doesn't really help their chances at escape.
-
Being inefficient with perks isn't new. It's like the folks who run Windows and make it their mission to run to and drop every pallet they can, not thinking that their team mates will need some resources later. SiS worked good for me in an earlier game when I needed healing up in endgame but everyone else was dead or had left. It saved me having to try find chests to hopefully get a medkit. SiS and Overcome came in clutch for me getting out the gate.
I've been using Empathy a bit lately and the amount of team mates I've found injured in corners, too scared to do anything unless healed up, is crazy. I'd rather they run a perk like SiS and get themselves back in the game asap than me having to run across the map to heal them up before they'll do anything.
-
I'd report anyone with any sort of slur in their name, and if they outright say in chat that they targeted you for your trans charm then report that too (devs have access to the chat logs). I imagine any sort of action won't happen overnight, especially with people flooding the system with silly reports on tunnelling, teabagging, etc.

If you queue up while having the bonus, it will give you the bonus even if it switches to the other role in the background.
That must be a recent change because it was never like that in the past for me??
-
They have their finger on the pulse of their playerbase. They know what will sell well and what won't. I gotta take issue with this though -
"they’re not even hiding it, it’s pretty obvious (Vittorio is) a sex sells character"
But why do they have him slapping fleas or whatever off himself in lobby 😭

I hate when this happens. I've said before that they need to make it so it locks in once the lobby has closed up and the game is about to start. So even if it switches, you still get your points

They did an amazing job!

I forget what that is. Do you need to make an account for that?
You'll need a BHVR account and a Twitch account, and link them together

I agree completely.
Even if you have a whole build around it, it causes far more harm than good to your team.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3673816#Comment_3673816
Nope, straight to the hook.
Needless to say, I did not escape that match. No one did :(
Not surprised 😩 I feel like it's a bit of a catch 22 with that perk. I havent had anyone use it in my games yet, but if I saw someone down there I'd be warring with myself over 'do I just ignore it and let them waste 2 minutes, or do I hurry over and help so that they're back in the game faster?'
-
@I_CAME said:
No. I would escape more if I did. I will almost always die to save my random teammates. Just running out the gate is boring and I don't know what people find fun about it.
I'm the same. I sometimes wonder if this is why some of us get such wonky matchmaking. Dying for others feels good but if it knocks you down in MMR then wouldn't you end up playing with new players alot because you'd start to sink back into low MMR? I'm starting to think this weird matchmaking cycle I'm in is of my own making and maybe i need to play selfishly sometimes?

My teammates are all in the basement, but I am in severe need of assistance.
Yeah I can see that lol tbf to them, you haven't been down very long. Hopefully someone came and picked you up?
-
This will be common the first week. Everyone will wanna test the new mechanic. Give it a week max and people will be over it
-
In the meantime, there's a 'did you have fun?' option in the endgame screen. You can rate your match out of 5. I remember a dev saying once before that they take note of that, so I'll use it on occasion.
-
My favourite is when you end up working on the same gen over n over because it just keeps getting hit by regression, and you need to heal and unhook etc etc and it never even gets done because everyone is dead at 5 gens. Damn that gen.
-
Yeah I will buy this one. Sable looks cool and Strength in the Shadows is a new toy to play around with for a bit.

Is it three strikes? I've had one but they ended up reversing it so I'm hoping that wasn't counted.
I use the mute function now on people who trigger me. If I can't see their comments I won't be tempted to engage.
I... did not know there was a mute option
-
I'll admit, it's not actually as bad as I thought it would be. I can think of other builds I hate more.
-
I understand your thinking but one reason I don't like to use WoO is because I feel overstimulated using it. The auras just interfere with my map perspective. I've never used ZT but I imagine it would be the same. I suppose if there were a way to turn it off that would be preferable.

Wait, was this actually Mikaelas third strike? I hope not. I had a one month forced sabatical myself and it helped mellow my stance on this forums. I still make my points and defend my positions, but I also know now where to draw the line and where not to thread. But yeah, at times its a bit sad that so many long time forum regulars get the axe, but it is what it is.
As a good rule of thumb, when tensions fly high, before posting a big, juice respond, take a step back, take a swig from your baverage and look that post over again. You might find that you don't feel the spur of the moment anymore and take the sting out of that post. And thus live another day to post here :)
I always remind myself that it's the internet and I have unlimited time to respond. I don't have to do it that very second. Sometimes I step away for a bit then when I come back I find I don't even care about the topic anymore and my desire to engage is gone. But still, we are all just human and sometimes our emotions get the better of us :(
-
It's well known that hackers can affect other players so I wouldn't think BHVR would be quick to ban based on an accusation.
-
The people who complain aren't the same people every time. Everyone has different preferences. I'm fine with most killers, atm I don't particularly enjoy SM, Knight, and Trickster. Everything else is generally fine.
-
The game encourages and rewards you for taking hits for each other, and honestly altruism isn't what it used to be in this game. It's nice when someone actually cares enough to help.
-

What? MikaelaWantsYourBoon is gone?
Nooo :( I gasped when I saw
-
The devs have limited bandwidth per update and I'd honestly rather they use it on common issues than something that surely happens only once in a blue moon. I've played for over 3 years and honestly never seen a 4-man DC. If this is happening frequently to you then I wonder why people don't want to play with you?
-
His mori could be offering his little hand to survivors to help, and them opting to die instead
-
I don't see DCs or letting go on hook much either. I'm in Australia, if that helps. It certainly could be a regional attitude thing.
-
My only issue with this map is that it seems to spawn a few gens really really close to each other
-

I get this too. Anyone needing a temp solution to this, you can save your state by: -
- Return to main menu.
- Open the options menu.
- Changing a setting. I use the Beta tab and modify the FoV slider up 1 and back again.
- Then save and close.
You'll know its saved when you see the 3 red entity claws spiral in.
Thanks! I'll give it a go tonight
-
If paired up with those then yeah it's strong. But I can't imagine anyone making a build around a healing perk that only works in basement. If you were gonna do that sort of build then you're better off bringing Self Care instead so you can heal anywhere.
-
@Blueberry said:
Sounds like your killer mmr just might be higher than your survivor one.
This, simply put. Killer and survivor have different MMRs.
-
@JPLongstreet said:
The "tunneled out at five gens is the fault of the surv team" mentality is entirely an veteran and/or upper MMR point of view.
Simple fact is most of the survs out there are not too knowledgeable about the game. And with around half of all survs solos the notion of betting on timely cooperation & coordination is kinda absurd.
We're talking about casual gameplay vs.efficient gameplay, where most players are casuals. DBD has an usually high learning curve, and it takes hundreds of hours to no longer suck. Thousands of hours to pick up most of the game.
Most players will not be around long enough to learn as much as they really need. Not with lobby shopping and MMR problems from backfilling.
Agreed. Plus survivors have 30+ killers to learn to counter. All different in chase with different powers or secondary objectives. That's on top of learning tiles, looping, looking behind you in chase etc. Learning to play survivor isn't some overnight thing.
