Chucky getting knocked down is the funniest and cutest thing ever.
Re topic, it's so hard to pick. I actually quite like Singularity's design.
-
Ugh the deadzones. I also had a Yamaoka map last week where the exit gates were pretty much right next to each other. I don't think I've seen exit gates spawn that close before in the years I've been playing. And it was against a Wesker. I just gave myself up to him because it was 100% impossible to open one.
-
I prefer to make my own sets. There are some exceptions, like Dwight's recent dino cosmetic. I don't usually like linked sets but he will wear that for the foreseeable future.

I literally said quote “it’s a scummy thing to do”, in the post you replied to. Describing how a market works is not defending it. Defending it would be me quite literally justifying the practice, I never once did that. I’m really not a fan of how people on this forum just assume someone’s a bad person when they don’t agree with something.
Im really not sure how I’m getting this spun on me. I’m not a bad or rude person for simply describing the nature of basic marketing practices thousands of companies use in our everyday lives.
I've read all your posts on this topic and I can't see anything you've said that justifies the anger directed at you. I'd just put it down to this being a delicate topic that tends to have some folks on edge and leave it at that.

I don't experience FOMO, so I dont care either way personally. But I've read enough of the concerns on this forum that other people have with it, and can understand why they find it problematic. Looking at it from the perspective of a predatory tactic, I think if it were something free - like a login bonus, or a reward for participating in an event, etc, then it's fine imo. I think people are mostly bothered when it comes to exclusives that you need to spend money on, because then it can encourage impulsive spending.
-
Mother's Dwelling and Ormond. Purely for aesthetic reasons.
-
Probably hacked. I've seen a few of them around.
-
If they banned everyone who got reported with no evidence then they'd probably have no players left. I wouldn't stress over it.
-
I started using Any Means Necessary a few days ago and I actually love it. It's a great way to save resources. Most killers kick pallets but occasionally I'll get a killer, like a Dredge I faced yesterday, who'd use his power around loops and leave the pallet. So I was able to reset a number of them.
-
Based on their last Reddit AMA, they have nothing in the pipeline. A dev pretty much said they cant really see what else they can do.
-
I don't run it as part of my builds but I have used it on the odd occasion for certain tome challenges to ensure I don't get found first with LP, and it certainly isn't OP. If it were, then I'd have noticed an impact on my games/escape rate when I've used it and I definitely haven't. If you're relying on aura perks to track survivors then yeah, it'd feel OP to you. But there are other ways to track survivors.
-
I don't mind them. I don't throw to do them though, I just deal with them as I come across them

I've heard it's permanent but can't find a confirmation.
Think it was a mod on the DBD Steam forum who confirmed it was permanent
-
Both can be true. One killer might dodge them while another might prefer to target them.

Please provide evidence that queue times increase.
Is there anything more stupid than guessing?
I think they're referring to the testing that BHVR did in 2022 (?) over the course of a week. They found that the stricter the matchmaking, the longer the queue times. However, there was still plenty of grey area between what we had then vs the strict matchmaking that had some folks waiting for up to an hour (high MMR folks specifically). I think alot of players would tolerate slightly longer queue times for better games. It doesn't have to be 30s or nothing.

My first game today I, no exaggeration, ran the killer for at *least* 2 gens. No one touched a single gen. I then managed to follow that up by completing the one and only gen (from start to finish) that got done that game, all on my own. At that point I decided I was just gonna get bp. I unhooked, I healed, I did totems. Didn't bother playing properly anymore since my team wasn't bothering. Everyone dead with 4 gens to go, I had 21k points and the second highest survivor had 8k points. I also had the honour of getting smacked on hook repeatedly for some reason.
I get that BHVR can't control the way solo players choose to play, and everyone has their own agenda when loading up, but in the past majority of the folks I was matched with at least tried. Now it's rare to get those team mates. Is it that those same people no longer care? Do they no longer play so there's a bigger pool of newer players to distribute? I have never called myself a great player. I've always said I'm average, so i dont expect some godlike loopers or sweaty team mates. I'd just like team mates who try. Outside of joining a swf, I don't know how to get those team mates anymore.
-
I'd just buy for the survivors and killers you play most often. Otherwise, they're apparently staying permanently so you can collect them over time instead of paying for them all straight away
-
Why not both?

Oh god I just read it for the first time. It reads like an 'OC do not steal' fan fiction.
"Mikaela declined to get her own tattoo. She flirted with the dark side, but she didn’t live it. Not like Sable. The dark side made sense to Sable, and she revelled in it. Partly because it freaked out her parents and teachers. Partly because it felt like who she was. Some called her a goth because of the way she presented herself."
"Mikaela liked her horror with a little comedy, but Sable liked it meaner. Scarier. Bloodier. She relished the gore. Enjoyed the terror. Liked to feel the adrenaline rush."
"But then she thought about the terrifying creatures and the sadistic killers and the endless horror, and she quickly decided she wasn’t going to let her best friend have all the fun."
It's so bad it's honestly hilarious.
I hadn't read her lore yet. It's... something lol so did she voluntarily follow Mikaela into the fog?
-
IMO it's definitely not worth it. In a game where time is valuable, taking yourself out for 2 minutes followed by leaving yourself vulnerable for the rest of the match is not worth the 105s earned that the killer can easily reclaim.

Absolutely- I feel like I lose 85% of my games as survivor. I rarely escape, and this has been a thing for almost two years now. I don’t like the whole escape = wins & raise in MMR mechanic. I wish it was based on how well you played, or at the very least- a combination of both. The amount of time spent in a match cushions your drop supposedly, but tunneling by killers takes care of that.
Matches are imbalanced. I get too many advanced players as killer vs. me and my 3 teammates who very inexperienced. And that’s because MM prioritizes filling a lobby quickly over quality matches where everyone is close in skill. I see it all the time when i end up in a lobby with single digit prestige Megs (mask Meg is my favorite), Dwights, and Fengs. The few times I didn’t lobby dodge hoping they were experienced players on a new account or console, I was sadly disappointed to learn they were indeed fairly new players who MM threw me in to play with them. I don’t think there is enough new Killer players to go around.
My post history on this forum shows that I've been very anti-lobby dodging and frequently thrown my support behind BHVR doing something to stop it. They haven't really shown much concern about it beyond doing some small tests last year that we haven't heard anything about, so I've reached the point where I feel if BHVR are not bothered by it then I'm not gonna be bothered by it either. The last few days I've been lobby dodging and picking my team mates and honestly, I've had a much better experience. Escape rate hasn't changed, which is fine, just the quality of the matches I'm getting are so much more enjoyable. It's only been a couple days so it could just be a fluke at this point but I'm gonna test it out a bit more and see. Do you find the same sort of thing when you do it?

This Is Not Happening will have 50% bigger good skill check zones (was 30%). But this buff is too much, so for make it balanced, we added 20% generator speed penalty into it.
Have fun everyone!
You joke but that's probably exactly what it'll be 😭
-
I feel like every single time I face a Huntress or Wesker, I'm always the Lethal Pursuer chosen one.
-
The cosmetics department aren't the same people in charge of "fixing" the game. And if you think the competitive folk like playing against other competitive folk, you'd be wrong. Look at how often apparent "high MMR" players complain about the difficulty of their opponents. They wouldn't stay in their lane.
-
I'd say they have the license for 12 months. Whether it gets extended beyond that probably depends on how well the skins are still selling. So I'd just expect 12 months and that's it.
-
Dunno. I feel like I see less and less Fengs as time goes by tbh. I think Sable will be extremely popular and will have alot of new cosmetics for the next 12 months or so.

Pretty sure hatch counts towards the stats just not MMR.

They are in stats but they are not affecting your mmr. Without hatch escapes, probably escape rate was lower. So it's good illusion to have to manipulate real stats.
Thanks for the info! Definitely a bit odd counting it as an escape for one aspect but null and void for another. I don't count hatch escapes in my own escapes anyway, only exit gate escapes.
-
Just to add - hatch escapes aren't counted as escapes in game. They're considered null. So if you're comparing your escape rate to the devs stats, you need to take that into account.
-
"The same goes for teammates who sneak into a closet and let you die when the killer comes, even though you're dead hooked and he hasn't been hooked even once"
Hahaha these are my favourite /s
If you're being tunnelled or otherwise injured and on death hook in chase, and you happen to run past your uninjured team mate who hasn't been hooked once, and instead of taking a hit or trying to take aggro they run off in the other direction lol thanks for the help!

Petition denied.
Bushes are vital to the game. Without them the game would die. I suggest we water and fertilize the bushes on Eerie of Crows so they can perform better.
Name checks out
But I agree
-
Not for me. I like to try different perks and builds. There's *alot* though that I get very little value from and I'm not inclined to pick them again.
-
Played against a clear hacking Billy today. So cheaters are definitely around

I got mine from Forbidden Planet

I agree except for the matches where they stayed for 45-50 minutes without doing gens and then died to the entity.
There's no DC penalty in PTB. So you can just leave.
-
They're okay. Not my favourite tile but it can be a fun back and forward with the killer
-
This was really informative. Thank you for sharing your experience.
-
I actually prefer what we got to what some people were theorising. The whole thing about copying survivors wouldn't have worked with swfs and we'd have had months of complaints on this forum about it. The teasers also do still apply just fine - it's a creature (parasite?) using the skin of people.
-
If you're playing the PTB then no, they might just want to play against the new killer and not an old one, even if the old one has had some slight tweaks.

Yeah, same. It’s just so incredibly disturbing… And its real mouth is on its back? It even has teeth 😰😨😨😨
Its interpretation of what a normal face looks like is chilling. I understand at first glance that it looks exaggeratedly cartoony… but that’s what this creature is making a human face look like irl… it’s just so incredibly disturbing.
Is it interpreting a face or is it wearing someone's skin? I havent read the lore yet but I assumed it was the latter
-
He's actually a pretty good blank state for alot of different cosmetics. My first thought was Little Nightmares collab
-
Does the survivor's invocation or whatever perk mean the person has to stay in the basement for 2 minutes and hope your team mates are taking advantage of it?
-
The new survivors healing perk seems pretty good. If it doesn't get nerfed then I might buy her.
-
No

Survivor perks:
1) While in the dying state, your repair speed is increased by 10% (Will be nerfed to 3% after PTB)
2) After getting hooked three times, reduces your grunts of pain by 50% for the remainder of the trial.
3) During EGC, you get 5% more skillchecks. Your aura is revealed to the killer.
I'm sick and this gave me a much needed laugh
-
I'm not looking forward to anything. I think we have another event coming up but after Lights Out I don't have my hopes up

@Hunkulese said:
No. The game is in a pretty good spot right now. Probably the most balanced it's ever been. Gamers just want to complain.
Solo queue is also fine. I escape more often than not, and they already buffed it with the UI indicators. All they need to do is let us see everyone's build and it'll be perfect.
The UI update was a great quality of life addition, but not a buff. The average solo escape rate was 39% before that update and 40% after (per the devs stats)
-
My escape rate has consistently dropped since update 6.1. I just play for the Rift and events.
-
For me, I'd swap Bubba and Huntress

@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
I don't think they hate survivors but they just so scared to buff survivors or give anything useful. Why? Because then there is countless posts about them.
Even mid perks like Counterforce, Exponential called op when they were on PTB lol. And then as you see, nobody used them in live servers because they are just trash perks.
BHVR need to be more brave when it comes to perks. Just release strong perks, if they are really problematic, you can nerf them later.
I don't think they're too scared. They probably just have a steady enough stream of new survivors coming in that they're not fussed about retaining the ones they have.
