The name of the game is for survivors to repair gens and escape, not all stand behind the killer waiting to pallet stun or hook sabo. Having a wingman to save you is perfectly reasonable, but having all players not playing the primary objective is against the rules imo. These groups are out to humiliate the opposition and give them a miserable experience.
There's literally a challenge in the current tome where you have to sabo a hook twice within 10m of the killer. Would they be going against the rules trying to complete a challenge set by the devs?
-
I had one that was absolutely cracked and ran a Nurse for ages and didn't get hooked once. When it was down to the two of us, she didn't even attempt to unhook me 🤣 she actually made a hatch play

No it happens when they have no injury.
We seem to be having another wave of hackers. Seeing more and more complaints about them.

Can I record a match on console? I'm not sure how to do that.
I know I said "...blah blah blah, if I hold W..." but that's just the way I'm used to hearing people say it lol
Which console are you on? I know you can on the PS5

It promotes reporting. I've seen many times in the forums people complaining "reporting does nothing." Now that they see it does work, they'll start reporting more often. And my concern is the opposing team playing in such a way to coerce me into breaking the rules. Either I play their game and suffer through it, take the report, or just don't play the game.
You don't even know that they will report you. So you're upset over something that hasn't even happened yet. Also, the point I was making was that the rules under which players are punished hasn't changed at all. If you're not breaking the rules, then being reported means nothing. I know I've done nothing wrong so I don't care if people want to report me more often. They can go ahead.
-
I thought the new system is just a feedback thing that updates the reporter on whether any action was taken on their report. Pretty sure nothing else has changed.

I believe you I had one adam with a weird name impossible to catch on RPD today, he was healthy whole game so not MFT, I couldn't get close to him no matter what he was definitely at 4.6ms, reported him for not so subtle speed hack and I'm 100% positive he was hacking, I play this game enough almost everyday to notice something was off with that person
also few days ago I was instantly killed and teleported in basement by a plague few seconds after match started, so i'm definitely not crazy there are still hackers in game
Hackers come in waves. They increase in numbers, then BHVR patches things up and bans a heap, then they get around the patch, get on a different account (they collect many of them during free promotions)... rinse and repeat. I'm pretty sure we are on a wave atm because I'm seeing alot more complaints about them.
-
Definitely record a match and share. People will be happy to give advice.
-
I don't mind Nurse. She adds variety to the game.
-
That's fine. I have zero intention of making the game miserable for others though. I want the game to continue to succeed and not help drive people away from it. You do you though.
-
I had a Skull Merchant play exactly like that this morning. There were no DCs, which says it all, and she got a 4k.
-
The problem though is that the last human survivor will likely be targeted, which is exactly what you did when you believed it would end the game. People will see that survivor's death as the only way to move on without incurring a penalty and the bots will be ignored while they're hunted down. The only survivor doing the right thing would be punished for the actions of others.
I feel like this sort of match - where the majority DC - would be a rare occurrence
-
Cheating. She's speedy while healthy (MFT only works when injured) but obviously trying to be subtle about it until you've lost line of sight.
-
I agree. I'm keen to put the hours into Xeno. He doesn't look overly complicated.
-
Nothing says you have to buy or play Xenomorph. Even one of the devs said the other week they don't expect people to play every killer, that they expect people to have their favourites. So keep playing Wesker

15 mins to go!

I'm one pip away from iri 1 and so I shut my game down for the night. I just know if I pushed it with another game I'll probably end up tunnelled and depipped, and I dont need that negativity so close to bedtime.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
In some japanese Q&A they said that they wanted to keep some Skill in the Grade-System so that is why Depipping is a thing.
Personally, I think this is pure nonsense. Grades show Playtime and nothing more. And in Iri-Ranks, on both sides, you already have to do well to pip up. You cannot just dangle around or do mediocre to pip up (eventually, everyone would end up on Iri 1, this is true, but how fast you can be there shows how good you are IMO).
But depipping does not really make sense. Especially because, at least for Survivor, it can be out of your control. As @humanbeing1704 mentioned, you have to rely on the Killer being decent, but not as good that they stomp the team. But if the Killer is bad, they wont get downs so there is not really anything to get in form of Altruism. AND you compete with other Survivors.
As Killers you have more control, since you are the only person on your team. Still means that a bad game can make you depip.
And I think removing depipping would remove some frustration. Sure, you still lose games and some of them might be really hard losses. But at least you dont depip.
Like, I have had times where I pipped 4 games in a row, just to depip 4 games in a row. Sometimes with things out of my control (e.g. when Nicolas Cage was released, I had to of them in my game who farmed the Achievement to get picked up... They used Plot Twist to down themselves and picked each other up... So the game was a 2v1 and obviously I depipped in this game. Frustrating, but would be less frustrating if I would not have depipped)
Yeah I don't like that reasoning either. We still have safety pips after all, which won't let you go anywhere if you don't perform better.
-
Spirit I really just hope for the best. She has directional phasing but it all sounds the same to me. I just play around pallets and take guesses on where she's coming from. So yeah, not that much fun.
Nurse I enjoy going against, personally. Her chases offer variety since they're different than just standard looping. If I don't have anything to break line of sight though then it's ggs usually. I just try and be unpredictable.

I was wondering half way through why he chose this footage to be edited into it's own video. He's not having a good time so it's not that enjoyable to watch.
Content creators are usually held up on a pedestal. So a video like this makes him relatable to average players. It gets people talking (like everyone here is doing) which gets him click$. Win win.

My favorite thing is that when things like double locker flashlight got nerfed because people were abusing it, that was actually justifiable. I blame the accusing survivors for that one.
But when things like the CoBruption meta was holding games hostage for an hour, it can't possibly be the abusing killers that got that nerfed, no. It's the survivors fault apparently.
You touch some, not even all regression and it's 'everything got nerfed'. Change healing, chase, gen speeds, anti tunnel, anti camping, and utility for survivors and apparently that's 'nothing'.
Exactly. The COB/Overcharge/Eruption nerf was killers shooting themselves in the foot. They love to say "survivors got their way!" when what actually happened was most of the playerbase *and* the devs were able to see how unhealthy it was for the game to have matches stalled for 40+ minutes until people gave up. But sure, survivors ruined that for killers and apparently destroyed the game in the process.

"Our focus on winning is bad, esprcially when killers do. Why cant zhey chill and not kill me? ( let me escape)"
Its quite zhe hypocrisy and "us vs them" isnt a valid concern when the thread starts with it....
OP said nothing about escaping. Plenty of people don't care if they lose, they just want an enjoyable game. You're the one equating enjoyable with escaping.

The blog says
“Cool down from the summer heat with some eye-catching outfits that will be available all year round,” says Kirby Taylor, Dead by Daylight’s Live Operations Specialist.

Because it just unnecessarily prolongs the game. You're unlikely to get far.

As much as I hate to say it, you've got a point. DBD as a casual experience is pretty awful right now, regardless of which side you choose to play. The end result of BHVR not knowing what they want their game to be, resulting in the balancing/matchmaking nightmare we've had to deal with. The other side is unfortunately the community themselves. Far too many people take losses soooo seriously and far too many people cannot resist gloating after a dub. This isn't unique to a certain role, both are at fault here.
The only way I can see the casual scene recover is if two things happen: First, have BHVR crack down hard on toxicity. Instead of using the censor system (which functions about as well as a condom in a convent) start saving EG chats and ban the people who say disgusting things. Second, have them implement rewards for being positive. Maybe something similar to OW endorsement system, where you used to get a reward after enough positive reviews.
I'm not sure what the right thing to do is, but something needs to change
I had a suggestion in the feedback section awhile ago to make the thumbs-up in post-game screen mean something. For it to build up reputation points or something that can earn you exclusive stuff or even just bloodpoints. It won't eliminate bad manners but I'll bet it help limit it.

I don't play any other online games so I don't know but, how do they handle it?
Take for instance Fortnite. I know it's a totally different game and it's apple and oranges. But when it come to the causal experience vs those who want a more competitive experience how do they do it? I know that game attracts a lot of younger players who miost likely want a "causal experience" but I'm sure there are a number of people who play that are still very competitive who play a lot of shooter games.
Well, I can't speak for the average Fortnite player but my 8 year old daughter plays it to track down a dinosaur to ride 🤣 my 8 year old nephew though will berate himself and get very upset if he loses. One cares about the experience more than the outcome, the other just cares about the outcome.

WoO is my 1st to go perk...not sure whether i wanna remove it since it really helps in most situations but at the same time i wanna get better in a "fair" way as you said.
I've been playing for a few years and only started using WoO several months ago. Never touched it before that, but solo queue can be so bad at times that I'll now take any help I can get but I find its made me a bit lazy. When I didn't use it, I was much more aware of my surroundings/tiles and I'd mentally plan my route for when the killer would approach. WoO kind of eliminates that awareness.
It can be a hindrance in the wrong hands too, so it kind of sucks that it's so popular. I've had team mates use it and just burn through so many pallets in one chase. Had a Pig game the other day where everyone was dead with 2 gens to go and I don't think there was a single pallet left on the map thanks to this Nea with WoO. I ran around the map in absolute amazement. Too many people think it doesn't have a downside but it absolutely does.
-
I'm at about 1400 hours and I'd say I'm intermediate. I can hold my own in general. Sometimes I have tougher opponents and I feel like a new player all over again.
-
Zarina is my main but I also play Sheva alot. For Zarina I think it was just her style. Sheva, I've never played RE5, I just thought she looked cool.
I also play other survivors on occasion, mostly Nea, Thalita, Yui, and Nancy.
-
I play solo and I enjoy Nurse games personally. She adds variety to chases rather than just your standard looping.
-
Not dead but certainly dying, though I'm not sure what they can do about this. It's easy enough to play casual if you don't care about losing, but too many people have high expectations and BHVR can't manage peoples expectations for them. For the health and longevity of the game, BHVR need to attract and retain new players, and I dont think they'll be as successful in doing so if it becomes too competitive. I've said before that certain competitive tactics or behaviour in general don't bother me personally, but I can recognize easily enough that it can be detrimental to the game as a whole.
Older players are important too of course, but the longer someone plays a game, the higher the likelihood of them getting bored or burned out and taking extended breaks. Or even outright quitting. And new players need to fill that void. I suppose maybe they can look again into matchmaking a bit better? Match the sweats with the sweats, match the new players with other new players, and make it harder to lobby shop for a start. Everyone feels the waves of the latter at some point, but newer players cop the brunt of it.

Just had a match where I got accused of cheating in the end game chat because I managed to figure out a survivor was in the only locker they could have possibly been in.
It was down to 2 survivors and the Laurie pointed out that the Gabe was in shack from a little way away. I went over to shack, saw the gen had progressed since last I was there, saw no scratch marks so I proceeded to check the lockers. An alarm clock had spawned in shack which bugged one of the lockers to where I couldn't search it. Eventually the Laurie had come over (still pointing) and I was trying to show her the locker was bugged (was curious if survivors could interact with it and just not the killer) when the Gabe hopped out allowing me to grab him.
I thought she was trying to farm so I figured I'd go easy on them and let her unhook but she just stood there. After I saw she was just ratting out a teammate I hooked her too of course, because snitches get stitches.
I saved the gameplay footage just in case I need proof nothing hinky was going on (+ to submit a bug about the locker) but I was dumbfounded by how the Gabe could think I was cheating with some aura thing. Even if the locker wasn't bugged and I was full of bologna, the Laurie was right there pointing at him and he had to have seen me checking the other locker. I mean, really dude? Distortion hides auras, it doesn't disable basic reasoning for the killer.
@Pulsar said:
Often when I do stuff like this on a semi-regular basis.
Mechanical skill? Zero.
Game Sense? Off the charts.
They always hide in shack. And then are so confused about why killers check there first. If I ever need to hide I'll pick some random locker in the middle of nowhere.
-
That sucks. Mine have been fine.
-
^I agree with them removing depips. The only time I get a depip is when being tunnelled, and that's out of my control. Can run them all game and still depip. I can comfortably get to iri 4 in solo q, but it's a slog to get to iri 1. Especially since the week before reset everyone plays sweaty asf, so if you haven't hit iri 1 by then, well gl.
-
I see it a fair bit still, mostly on Onryo
-
Yup. I've never used that 'Did you have fun?' option post-game but I've started to now every time I get a killer playing from Mars. I give 1/5. It probably means nothing but I've gotta give some sort of feedback. I was against a Demo yesterday and it was literally an unplayable game. He was a car length away from me (Haddonfield) when I vaulted, then suddenly I'm getting grabbed.
-
Sometimes but not for the reason you've stated. I find with 3man swfs that it can go one of two ways - they'll either stick their neck out for me or abandon me without a care.

I'm not even sure if MFT was even allowed to be in the stats. Purposely keeping MFT out of the stats, sounds like a BHVR thing to do, as they could say "we didn't want to include this perk, because it's too new, so players wouldn't get a good picture of its popularity, so we just removed the perk from the stats and didn't explain this important fact to the players"
We really don't need perk conspiracy theories... BHVR would have no reason to purposely leave out a perk. They even said during the Reddit AMA that they had a Fogwise nerf ready to go last year after all the complaining but eventually decided it was fine. They nerfed Scavenger, and COH, DH again, and PT recently. They clearly have no aversion to nerfing perks.
Self Care is known to be very popular in the Asian region, so it's unlikely they're using MFT much as it requires playing injured. It's also why Nightlight isn't completely accurate, because it's mostly English speaking players submitting their load outs. So MFT shows heavier usage on there than in BHVRs stats, which are worldwide. Nightlight wouldn't have as large a sample from non-English regions. Not everything is a conspiracy.

That's interesting and makes sense given Asia's aversion to playing injured. Out of curiosity does this mean Resilience is less common as well?
Unsure, will keep an eye on that one because I'm curious now too. I've just been specifically looking for MFT after all the uproar about it. I would imagine with Self Care being so popular over there that Resilience likely isn't.

Some of the claims come from here. There are also a few replies from me directed towards other people, so you can see that I got a lot of stuff just from this thread.
I also saw some replies on DBD Twitter but DBD Twitter will be DBD Twitter so frankly it's not really worth much.
Not surprised by some of the people complaining in that thread though tbh. There's some regulars that complain about pretty much any random perk they happened to run into while having a bad game.

Yea you are probably right. I was thinking like no way is my MMR skyrocketing this much that fast from simply yesterday. I think I'll just play survivor, and wait till the weekend is over to play killer again. I felt all gross resorting to camping.
Honestly, sometimes the more challenging opponents can provide the best learning opportunities. So I wouldn't say don't play on the weekends but maybe more don't be too hard on yourself or have high expectations because it really is such a mixed bag in terms of matchmaking (in my experience anyway). It's Saturday where I am and my youngest asked me to play earlier, so I played 3 games total and 1 was fine but the other 2 were a chore and a half.
-
Reading your post I was thinking 'well, it's Friday/weekend' and then I saw your last few sentences lol my gaming experience on the weekend is so so different to my weekday experience. And not in a good way. Weekends are so sweaty and I'm not a sweaty player so I tend to not play those days.
