Borrowed Time actually used to give the protection to both the unhooker and unhooked, but then killer mains complained and the perk was nerfed to the ground. It's sad how good new perk ideas turn out to be rather old mechanics that had been indeed implemented in the past but then were scrapped because some killer main twitch influencer complained about it.
Why should the unhooker get protection???

It really wouldn't though. It is already a time sink for the survivor to do. Hexes are one time use because they provide map wide, strong effects the killer doesn't have to activate or go set up. Boons require the survivor to leave their objective to go set up the boon. They are not the same. Making them one time use would just gut the perk.
I’ve had teammates who spent a lot of time re blessing totems. That’s another reason why I think they should be a limited use. It’s not fun to deal with in solo queue.

This is constantly suggested but this would just gut them really. It isn't worth the time sink if it gets destroyed in a second.
Destroying the totem would be a better way to go.

I agree with this. A lot of popular streamers have honestly from what I’ve noticed are just burnt out from all the tryhardness SBMM has to offer. Ohtofu made a good point last night that at high MMR gameplay you pretty much need to play killers that require some/alot of mechanical and muscle memory to cope with good swfs like Nurse, Blight, and even duel engravings billy which requires alot of mind gaming and timing to outplay survivors in such a unique way and that right there just feels so monotonous. Streamers can’t even stream without focussing so much on killer gameplay anymore. I remember watching umbra/tofu etc play killers while talking to chat about anything and everything so easily and now you don’t see that hardly anymore..
I watch TRU and I heard he said he didn’t wanna play killer anymore. That’s sad cause I enjoy watching him play.

People run the same few perks because they're the only ones that are truly viable at high level play, because the devs are scared of introducing new ones in fear of being called out for 'power creep'.
The constant complaints about Boon perks over the last few weeks is the best example. They're the first good Survivor perks introduced in literal years (Dead Hard was the last meta perk, added over four years ago), yet they got nerfed before they were even released because Killers were unable to adapt.
On the reverse side, Undying suffered the same fate (albeit a few months after release instead of before even coming out) because Survivors didn't want to actually have to look for totems instead of gen-jockeying.
The community is reaping what they sow. Can't have anything good on either side without the other massively complaining about it.
PTB boon totems would’ve been really bad for the game. Survivors could heal up in a second before the killer finished wiping their weapon. And I agree with your point about undying.

She's always been a strong killer that killer mains have always whined that she's weak. It's unfortunately she got a buff, because now everyone is playing her. I wanted her to stay my special little secret.
I mean she did need a buff.

The PTB boon totems were bugged and they fixed the "Overlapping" bug. They also reduced the size of the AoE by 4 meters. I agreed with the bug fix and the 4 meter reduction.
the 4 meter reduction is nothing, it should've been more like 15.

I think everyone is beginning to realize boon totems aren't game breaking. Especially now that boon totems are getting seen less and less and meta perks are popping back up in survivor builds.
It was basically "Lucky Break" all over again. Luckily Killers have cried wolf one to many times and the Developers actually kept an eye on them instead of insta-nerfing them like they did "Lucky Break".
the PTB boon totems were way way too strong. you can't tell me otherwise.

It's something every Killer learns when they first get the game. Its easier to learn than using the killers power correctly. Yes, it's a very elementary school tactic.
All killers do it.

I'm not having problems playing Killer unless I play Trapper and even then, I really don't need to resort to tunneling. I'm not seeing how everyone is "supposedly" having problems unless you are expecting 4ks every game. You should be averaging 2ks and 2es and that's exactly what I'm getting.
I think maybe part of the issue is that there is a lot of new Killers being handicapped by relying on tunneling and camping and not moving up to the more advanced techniques for handling gen speeds.
Tunneling and Camping are elementary school tactics, you need to learn middle school and high school techniques for managing gen speeds.
I disagree about camping/tunneling being "elementary school tactics". Killers have to do it a lot to secure one kill when the match isn't going in their favor.

I've only played against one so far.

After nerfs yes but Shadowstep effectively killed her. It renders her ability completely useless since it hides scratchmarks.
especially on indoor maps where it works on multiple floors.

Pinhead isn't even that hard to go against if anything he needs a buff.

Many DbD streamers have said that the VHS' gameplay is great and very well balanced. We will see i guess...
when does that game come out?

She's still just as strong.

They literally nerfed circle of healing from the PTB. Imagine if the PTB COH made it to live? Stackable boons with an even larger radius and 2x faster the healing? If this version is making you play in a such a way I can only imagine what the old version would have done to you.
It wasn't even nerfed that bad they only removed the stacking portion which was so broken.
-
Oh and those are some nice boon perks.

I completely disagree. It's almost not even worth setting these things up because of fast they are to destroy and super easy to hear. You're usually better off spending that time on a gen.
unless you're on in indoor map where it's super difficult for killers to find the totem. Like it's such a waste of time so I don't even bother so I just tunnel out that survivor.
-
I've been playing plague since her buff, and I've had a lot of fun.
-
Pinhead needs a buff.
-
Leave Blight alone, survivor mains need to stop begging for nerfs and just get gud.
-
Playing killer has been so rough. And yes they need to do something about base regression because it’s useless to kick a gen unless you have pop.
-

Not really... The killer can snuff the totem in like 1 or 2 seconds and it's pretty loud as well (not to mention it takes a lot of time to set it up as survivor). It would definitely need some other buffs somewhere.
thats where we disagree. They’re already too strong.
-
the healing speed should be reduced to 70%.

If they bleed out, yes.

To be fair, a monkey could do what he did. Bubba needs to be reworked because no skill is needed for his "instant" down.
No it does takes skill to down survivors with his chainsaw. You should try playing him.

I feel like this could make them bad. They'd need some other buffs.
no it would make them high risk/reward like hexes.

I've only seen him once since his nerf.

when killers snuff the totem than that totem should be destroyed.

I only didn’t like when it gave endurance to the unhooker.

"Fine". It does render Spirits ability completely useless. I only won this match cause I proxy camped hard (and I am not ashamed about that matter of fact)
I actually changed my mind about shadowstep. It needs a nerf.
-
Yeah it can be lame but so is getting gen rushed.

@YukiShiori21 said:
First of all, facecamp is lame even for a killer main like me.
But when will you survivors understand that facecamp is a waste of time, just do gens and get out.
Your goal is to get out, not to get out together. If you get out then you win.
DBD is a 1v1v1v1v1 game, the dev makes it very clear, you're just four guys trying to escape happen to do it at the same time.
I understand four is better than three, but since the facecamp is the situation, you'll need two to safe the on hook more safely.
That means there are only one or none doing the gens.
If the killer facecamp since the very beginning, you should have enough time do all or most of the gens.
After the gate is electrified, you have three guys to save the poor guy.
Don't try to be a hero, understand the satiation and leave the trials is you can't handle it.
I've done too much trials when I only get 1or 2 hook till the end game, but the survivors tried to hard to save the in hook then end up give me 3 or 4 kills.
Facecamp is only about secure a kill. That's a bad news for the one, but somewhat a better news for the other three.
Also when you know NOED is on, you shouldn't try to be a hero anymore, find the hex then try or just get out.
the thing is a lot of survivors think they're entitled to a 4 man escape. It's just funny when they try to save and it all goes south for them.
-
I don't like that his blades got reduced to 44. That needs to be reverted back to 60.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
And he will stay that way as long as survivor mains consider him to be OP.
Yes, he is definitely a lost cause. This was his tome, and they ain't help a homie out unless you consider nerfing Slinger to help him find his niche a bit better. Rofl.
who could seriously think trickster is OP??
-
Deathslinger was perfectly fine, and I never saw people complaining about him.
-
I wonder how many people are gonna vote Meg lol.
-
killers often need to camp when games are not going well for them. I'm not supposed to make survivors matches fun.
-
No this is absolutely NOT okay.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
Deathslinger's is worse. Hillbilly's nerf didn't affect his players' muscle memories, in fact I want to say it made the chainsaw feel more smooth. Deathslinger's delay on his zoom in so painful to get used to. Even when you get used to it I don't think he'll be any good, because even with snap decisions and quick reactions you're not gonna be able to land the shots you were able to before. He's like Huntress now where you can't quick scope at all and instead have to hope the survivors outposition themselves, so that they bob and weave into your sight, then release. If they don't let you do that, you're screwed with him. Absolutely horrendous and unnecessary nerf.
Since this patch I think I've only played against one deathslinger.
