We all saw this,
And the survivors perks were there.
Self care, Sprint burst and one other
ohhh cause I went on their Instagram post and I don't see that anywhere.

Hard drive disk
I'm not an expert but but I belive that everything that happens in dbd(or any game) goes through the hdd
but since dbd has so much its starting to not be able to handle the actions and needs a sec to find the action required causing the stuttering when certain actions are done (ex. Dead hard.)
But with how the game is made I've heard that almost all the actions are loaded on the killer side so whenever the killer freezes everyone freezes except pc because PC's have always had a superior hdd capable of running more than dbd.
Okay I think I'm starting to understand it a little bit. It's just I've never heard of HDD until it was mentioned in this thread.

from my understanding a lot of consoles use what's known as a Hard Disc Drive, or HDD. These involve several discs which store data through magnetic charges- a positive charge representing "1" or "on" and a negative charge representing "0" or "off". This is how data is stored, in binary code. Each of these discs is read through a magnetic head to retrive the data, so as you can probably imagine it takes a while, especially if the data is stored all over the discs (which is why if you have HDDs you sometimes defragment them, to put the data for different files all together and help speed things up), but on the plus side you get a lot more storage for a lot less price.
Now, Solid State Drives, or SSDs, are a lot more expensive per GB of storage but also a lot better at it. They use, iirc, flash memory to store data, which is basically a lot more reliable than HDDs, a lot quicker to read, and doesn't need to be degragmented- it's much nicer. Due to this speed they're better at playing games from, and though they have a limited lifespan due to only having a set amount of read/write cycles before it starts to break down this number is high enough that it'll very rarely matter.
From what I could gather, SSDs don't have that much of an issue running DBD due to being quicker, however apparently there was some kind of issue with HDDs making the game run substantially slower and drop even more frames than usual.
Hope this wasn't too complicated (and also hope it was right).
I appreciate all the info you gave me but I'm sorry I still don't quite understand it!!!
-
can someone help me explain what this HDD situation is??

We now have a confirmed date on when to expect these changes (aka the midchapter if the 2nd sentence is to be believed). More performance fixes should also be on the way in future updates though obviously absolutely no dates for these are concrete.
Sorry it's been a hot minute since I contributed here but hey the news bringer brings more news
🤞🤞🤞

for me it's probably BT. I've been trying to trust myself to make safe hook rescues without it.

yeah I've been having that same problem with DH. I doubt there will be a hotfix tomorrow, hope I'm wrong tho.

I've only been on it twice since it was re enabled. But I heard it's still crashing for some players.

Thanks to Leon and Jill's new perks, running lightborn has made this perk so much more useful. I had a game where a Jill activated a blast mine on a generator that I kicked. Thanks to the perk, the aura of where she was hiding lasted longer than the stun so I made a beeline straight for her! It's definitely a fun, and much more useful perk to use now!
It's probably a perk that I'm gonna run more even if I don't see flashlights cause of blast mine and flashbang. I refuse to get blind lol and again the aura information is wonderful.

Lol I don’t wanna be mean to the killer but I suppose I could give that a try.

I think it's nice when survivors try to give me a free kill, but I'd rather earn my kills though. I won't hook them I just let EGC kill them.

What I would like to ask moving forward from everyone to please avoid commenting that people should just upgrade - there are several reasons as to why someone might not be able to or simply doesn't want to. Either of those situations are fine. If you however still feel like to leave a comment with tips on how to upgrade, make sure it's understanding and respectful. This is an important matter to the community who play on those platforms and their voices certainly should be heard on it.
Don't platform shame anyone, whether they play on console or pc, it does not matter. This is not something we would like to see here.
It already has been acknowledged by BHVR, the console optimizaton issues that is (especially now after the recent chapter) - in the most recent patch too, that issues ongoing are being investigated. This is from the recent 5.0.2 patch:
The team is still actively working on more fixes across multiple platforms, including consoles. We will be monitoring the changes made within this bugfix patch for stability. (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/288-5-0-2-resident-evil)

None of those but unbreakable can change a win to a loss.
BT and DS are fair perks that only screw over losers who tunnel lol.
NoED can give a bad killer who played poorly a 4k and teach that killer bad habits or no reason to get Better at the game
whatever you say survivor main.

I've crashed over 20 times.
RCPD is still crashing my game and other people's as well, though only 40% of the time.
Current gen Consoles are completely broken this update, if only BHVR had optimized the game like they said they would.
yeah RCPD is still crashing for me too. Only been on it twice since they re enabled it.

Yup, all of you guys are entitled as hail. Everybody demands instant fixes but you guys have no idea how difficult and slow going it is to find the cause of bugs, much less fix them. Yes, I get it, some of you fools spent huuuundreds of dollars on this game. That's on you, they can end support of this game at any time and you couldn't do anything about it. Its 5 years old. I've spent a total of $30 on this game and have all the killers. Game was free, all non licensed killers obtained with shards, and licensed killers obtained during half off sales. Just to show you how much its on you for spending all that money.
you can just stay off this thread if you're tired of seeing it. All I know is we're gonna keep it going until we get the bug fixes we've been asking for.
-
yeah let's a nerf a perk that can literally be deactivated 2 seconds into the game.
-
@Mikeyjanuary11 said:
Let's be honest... You really only wanted to flex your 4k screenshot. You make it sound like this is an issue that bothers you but you obviously just tunneled the key holder out.
Them still getting the 4k doesn’t make key switching last second okay. It’s still really toxic that prevents the killer from being able to adjust their build.
-
Any survivor who brings a key I camp and tunnel out of the match. You wanna end the game early?? Let me help you out.
-
Map- Haddonfield
Killer- Ghostface
perk- dead hard
mechanic- keys

Run Plunderers, find a key, hide the key in a corner, wait for hatch while playing sneakily. I'm terrible at this game and I escape about 40 percent of my matches.
I did something similar to where I brought a key and a hatch offering and just waited for hatch to spawn so I can get my crown. I was frustrated when I collected the crowns and then died.

NoED trains bad habits to new players. It rewards bad play.
Soloq is hard enough lol. I can't do all 5 gens, get tunneled and break all 5 totems before my idiot team have all died
My point is i ran this man for 5 gens with 0 hits. And he downs me with noed as the gate is opening, I won but his crutch perk saved him.
He has no reason to get good if he can play like that.
Salty boi slugged me till bleedout too
you know what else rewards bad play??? DS,UB,BT,DH I could go on.

All it does is punish solo. I take nothing you say seriously as you are one of the stereotypical killer mains on the forums lol. Never comment on my discussions again as you have never had an open mind.
Survivor bad killer good. Its boring seeing you defending noed every day.
Its a soloq bully perk and you clearly don't play enough solo to understand how crucial time is in solo.
sure don't take anything seriously from someone who is spitting facts. If NOED activates it's your teams fault. End of story.

I don't see how you could call it anything but rewarding failure. You failed at killing survivors so you get rewarded by BHVR just giving you kills.
Plus NOED is the ultimate face camping perk in the game.
if NOED triggers it's the survivors fault for not doing totems. You have tools to get rid of it before it even activates so use them.

just do bones.
Why don't survivors want to do this objective? Not doing bones (genrushing) is encouraging players to play badly and not seeing totems as a threat.
good point.

This is my opinion. It is backed up by precisely zero data, it's just my perception.
DS has two uses. One is to add a cost to Killers who tunnel. Note I am not saying it prevents tunnelling; it just ads a cost. The other use is to get some "invulnerability time" in which to bully the Killer. An example is working on a gen or healing someone with the Killer right there knowing that they can't get you immediately since you have your DS protection.
A large number of people who use DS use it for purpose 2, and now that they can't as easily, they have stopped. Those using it for purpose 1 can still do so with no loss of efficacy. Also, its use near exit gates hasn't changed.
I think it should deactivate if a survivor is opening a gate but I rarely see the perk in my killer matches so we can probably leave it alone. Also having it work after both hooks is a little bit much. And it can really hurt a killer when they need a kill.
-
that's nice that BHVR is extending the event which was expected. And I'm gonna try to remain positive that they will be able to fix the performance issues console has been having.
-
DS is perfectly balanced. Anyone who complains about it only used it for 60 seconds of free invulnerability. This is now a TRUE anti tunnel perk.

It is taking someone hostage. They can’t do anything for 2 minutes, which might not sound like much, but in gaming time it’s a lot. Leaving the game doesn’t do much except give you a penalty and ruin the game for your teammates.
Stop saying that it’s okay. It isn’t, I don’t know how it can be fun for the killer or the poor survivor having to deal with it. It takes years to find a game as survivor, and after finding a match it’s just boring to get camped, and camped, and camped again every game.
If camping bothers you so much you should maybe play more killer.

Iron Will is one of the most powerful Survivor perks in existance. We´ll see more use of this perk.
All I know is they better not touch spirit cause if they do, survivor queue times are gonna skyrocket.
-
@Tsulan said:
The issue with Spirit is simply that survivors don´t want to adapt their build/playstyle. Spirit is perfectly fine, but will sooner or later receive a nerf, due to survivor complaints.
Once the nerf goes through, the new mmr will probably be live. Which leaves very little breathing room for high skill SWF teams, which will only get matches against Nurse. 24/7 because there is no other killer left that can perform on that skill level. This includes very long queues for said players.
Now regarding the Stridor nerf, it just turns a mediocre perk (because lets face it, no one uses Stridor on any other killer than Spirit) into a trash perk. Which results in Spirit mains switching Stridor for far superior tracking perks like Nurse Calling or Bloodhound. Causing her kill rate to go up and resulting in the above mentioned Spirit nerf.
at first I thought iron will was fine but then I started to think you're probably gonna see almost every survivor run it if the stridor nerf goes live. I don't know how I feel it might be very problematic.
-
@Bigchungus223 said:
Guys, there is the event going on. I don’t know about you but I would expect some cakes, so it’s not like he put on the build without knowing that the survivors wanted bloodpoints.
This player knows 100% what they’re doing and I think this shouldn’t be a thing. He is NOT playing the game, he is standing still in front of the survivors hook and taking them hostage. Probably watching YouTube or Twitch meanwhile.
If anything this playstyle should result in a ban.
it's not taking them hostage, it's just killers playing however they want as long as it's within the rules.

Playing the game and being a basement Booba are antagonists.
Playing means moving and using your brain.
Camping a hooked survivor when 4 to 5 gens are left has just one purpose :
- directly ruining the camped survivor trial because you have a trash life and you want to avenge yourself in some way
- indirectly ruining all other survivors trial for the same reason
- trolling
These behavior early trial should be forbidden and banable. All those killers should be HWID banned to remove some of the toxicity in the game.
if you punish killers for camping, your survivor queue times will go up and up.
-
How can I go after the unhooker when the rescued survivor bodyblocks with BT?

Well they said they'll add some Mori elements into the Killers basekit, but what excactly, we do not know.
I have read that survivors with keys increases a chance of killers getting to mori them. But I don't know how that could possibly work because what if they drop a key??
-
I don't think I'd use WGLF but yeah I'd keep running BBQ because the information is great.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
This is a poor bandaid fix. It still comes down to you needing to bring Franklin's just to counter keys, instead of doing the smart thing and nerfing/removing keys.
Hopefully while they nerf keys, the mori change comes and this time they need to be stronger than keys.
-
it's so annoying.
-
the whole reason why I never run iron will is because of stridor, well now this change makes the perk actually useful.

It’s too strong to last the whole match. Just imagine if Spirit got changed to have directional audio, Iron Will users will have no counterplay.
I respectfully disagree
-
@GannTM said:
I’m not happy with the change. Iron Will needs a nerf just as much as Spirit does but they nerf one and buff the other. People should really stop saying the devs are killer sided.
iron will is fine
