Why a killer shouldn't be judged until survivors learn how to play against them.

- AFAIK, that's an oversimplification. From how I understand it, it tries to get a survivor lobby within a loose range, but the lobby within a set limit above/below the killer's MMR - which then expands over time. So you might have one very strong player and three weaker players against a strong killer player.
- Queue times are pretty fast all round these days unless you're at the cap, which was seriously raised because that's where you started seeing 'good' players against comp squads.
- The faster queue time measure…was the BP rewards? I see it pretty much equally now, but matchmaking still pukes a kafka game on me at least once a night.
- Yes, that's an easy fix for backfill problems, but the trade off is forever lobbies where people just cycle through forever.
Lobbies can be formed without a killer and the killer chosen would fall within the average range of the survivors.
-
If people's argument against lobby dodging is bad because it messes with MMR. Then make MMR not backfill on dodges. Dodge a lobby, you get matched with the same criteria as the lobby you dodged. Only increase the range if the lobby cannot be filled and reset on dodges.
So how do we go about stopping DCs or afks? Seems like a different issue.
-
Clearly Pig needs to be nerfed more.
-
And the normal mode is none of that?
-
Custom icons.
It's modifying game files but bhvr won't ban you for it. But, if EAC flags it and bans you, bhvr will not unban you.
-
Someone is throwing 💩 at a wall seeing what sticks.
-
A strong power just invites nerfs that make you wish they were 115%.

If I'm playing killer and I know that I'm going up against a 3/4-man SWF team, I'm absolutely going to dodge. Why would I want to knowingly go into a match where the other side has an unfair advantage if I don't have to?
How do you know? Same names? Same character? Don't say you checked profiles because most of my lobbies are cross platform. Because all four joined at once? You do know the lobby doesn't work the same as the PTP days. A killer can join a full lobby of solos.
How about those SWF teams that you don't notice until in match? Are you going to DC the moment they flashlight save or bodyblock? Stand in a corner looking up?

But there is an impact on the match where the lobby was dodged. The back fill player is likely to be completely mismatched in skill to what the lobby was originally matched for.
So you get a 12k hour nurse stomping a squad of solos, or the other extreme of a new killer going up against 6k hour survivors.
The only difference here is that dropping out of the match affects the game for 4 players, or may not have an effect at all if the match is already lost. Lobby dodging affects the match for 5 other players, and can create the frustrating 'matchmaking is awful' scenarios that literally no one enjoys.
12k hour Nurse stomping solos. What, solos can't have high mmr? How is that an example? Backfill is not as drastic as you are making it out to be.
Also to that killer dodging, the next set of survivors is going to be the same as the previous because this is SBMM not who clicked on Find Match button first. Killers that dodge are foolish.
To the point, it IS worse when ghe match already starts because there are only a few ways it will go.
- The killer feels bad and farms, which is boring on both ends.
- Other survivors DC leaving the killer playing against bots, not fun.
- Other survivors let themselves go on their next hook. Leaving other survivors that wanted to try without hope.
- Killer plays normally and gets called a tryhard in the end.
The whole experience is ruined because someone couldn't bare the thought of losing in a video game.

Going to have to ask you to elaborate.
Because the way I see it both scenarios include someone choosing their own enjoyment over the integrity of their match and the consideration of others in order to get a match where they won't have difficulty winning.
For one, the group needs to wait to start a match with no impact to that match.
The other the match is ruined but must be played out.

I mean, some people here are definitely a bit pessimistic about survivors chances of winning. But I don't think it's just about killer having any advantage at all.
And I also disagree that only the top 3 killers are viable, the game certainly has more viable killers than only 3.
It has become self defeating. They point to a 60% kill rate but forget this issue has been going on for years. So they give up more now because there's no real penalty in doing so, thus raising the kill rate more.

Killers not only get stronger the longer the game goes on as resources get used and the patrol routes get shorter, but they also have basekit comeback mechanics in camping and tunneling.
Survivors have all their power at the beginning and it's all downhill from there. So a bad start is a lot more devastating for survivors than for killers.
basekit comeback mechanics in camping and tunneling.
Which requires what? Catching someone! Not only that the other survivors would gave to fall into that trap. In a situation where you have to "catch up", camping out one survivor won't stop the remaining gens to be done and them running out the gate.
-
There's no comeback mechanic because this is a PvP not a PvE. You make your own comeback or die trying.
-

Why play out a lost game? If the first chase is incredibly short or doesn't happen at all (if the killer finds them in a locker) that's it. There is a 99% chance that that game will end in a 3/4k anyway, so why not move on? Also most of the people that let go in chaos shuffle have no mither and that is completely understandable. That perk is basically an insta loss.
Why play out a lost game?
Killers are expected to. So little they DC it's laughted at and seen as cowardly. Survivors though, its all oh woe is me and not held into acount.

where all the survivors are prestige 100 on their survivor from bloodweb, most are pretty skilled (lots of experience)
Odd, I find plenty of P100s that play like beginners.
-
But nobody has an issue with people using Voice chat?
What now? Nobody? Where you pull that from?
Lets say solos did have voice chat. It would still be less than what SWFs have. Why? Because SWFs are players that want to play with each other. They played games with each other normally and know how each other refer to things like callouts. Even with communication you will still have disorganization.
Now how about the bad side. One, every streamer out there will want a way to mute. Can't risk someone saying gamer words on stream. Normal players will want this too. Who wants to hear a kid screaming in your ear? Not to meantion the amount of harassment accusation that will popup because of it.
Overall just a bad idea for this game.
-
No it's not cheating. Really though, its a gimmick more tune towards FPS shooters with less environmental sounds. DBD has chase music on blast and no equalizer is going to be able to just quite down that part. The best you can get out of sonething like that is hearing breathing outside of chase. And guess what? Any decent headset will give you that.

What is BHVR supposed to do about this? Is there any game in existence that forces you to try if you don't want to?
A lot of PvP games have rules against AFK or actively not participating in the match. It could be considered griefing and result in bans. Of course those games have replay systems to watch back other players.
-
MMR for match making is still on. The only part disabled is inceasing or decreasing your MMR.
-
Unfortunately this is a player mentality issue. Too many are throwing tantrums to skew stats or simply inconvenienced in some way.

Finally i've seen someone say this 🥲, i get in p100 matches pretty frequently and this perk is just amazing when using killers such as blight for snowball, I promise you, you can be high MMR and this perk still be amazing imo
Whats a P100 match?
-
You can have a big sign with neon and still not prevent being picked up.
-
People will still say its slow.
They want to press a button and instantly spend all bp and have a window that shows what they got.
-
Not favored by the RNG gods.

MMR is off there. This is why my games there are finally enjoyable as both sides.

MMR seems to be off for the new gamemode, which I personally like, it adds the "chaos" to Chaos Shuffle.
🤔
Maybe it's the random perks.

good news, you can immediately opt-out afterwards again
5 days to get off the email list. Too late to stop your email getting sold to "trusted" 3rd parties.

It was stated to be a UI bug. Who knows if/when it will be fixed as it is still missing in the PTB.
-
It's a nice feature for those that want to try something different.

Does no one test anything anymore before coming to conclusions?
If you equip Bamboozle on 8.0.0, it still blocks the window after you vault with Legion.
They are talking about the vault speed increase
-
Physically can't leave without the killer seeing you leave. The Entity blocks the exit until the killer has line of sight of it.
-
Guess better than $5 and selling your data.

If you start asking those questions now, next thing you know you will question why your on these forums.

So, if we are back to it being a Game Mode. Where is my Kill With Friends option? But it has that? 2:04:40 if you want the time stamp of stream where they say this will happen and allow you to team up with another person to play killer. Is there some comment elsewhere saying it can't happen?
The feedback I'm getting didn't leave that impression.

This is considered a "mode" and not a "modifier". A "mode" seems to mean a completely different set of rules, opposed to 'simply' messing with the main game in some ways.
The way killers are programmed, it's entirely possible that there's gonna be some wild interactions between powers. As in, crashes galore.
For that matter, Freddy was disabled for Lights Out, and Oni was the only killer available for My Little Oni. The latter was perhaps a thematic choice, but I doubt the same goes for Freddy.
I haven't seen the stream so I'm only getting infomation about it from here. I figured it was the Game Mode but then it was stated it was for customs. So I thought it was a modifier.
So, if we are back to it being a Game Mode. Where is my Kill With Friends option?

In the stream it was shown that it will be the first iteration, and will be time limited (from the release of the next licenced survivor and ending on the release of the Castlevania chapter)
The lights out was public. So 2v8 is a customs modifier. Then why do they need to disable killers?

If you mean custom games, I doubt anyone would have a problem with it?
Will the 2v8 be custom only?

Funny you say that i constantly face God tier Nurse's so basically when facing her I don't have this chance to fully understand how to counter her because by the first minute of chase I'm down.
Any Nurse they can't get get away from is God tier to them. In their minds there's a constant stream of new players keeping her kill rate low while other killers don't follow that trend.
Try not to do the same stats as against M1 killers. Don't loop shack, don't loop low wall loops, don't camp pallets. Distance and cover. Run away when you hear the terror radius. Don't be greedy like against other killers. The more blinks it takes to close the distance between you and her makes you less of a target. The more guesses it takes to find you the better.
-
Where's the Kill With Friends option?
-
If the 4th survivor hasn't been hooked yet I will slug to get at least that. Hooking every survivor at least once is needed for Emblem progress.
-
Yeah, my P100 Nurse gets dodged nearly ever lobby. Never had this problem at P69.
-
By the wording, Still Sight is not limited by the 18 meters for killer auras. Making it a better OoO for SWF teams.
-
While grades reset your MMR does not. You will be matched with the same player next week as you would today.
-
Careful what you wish for.

Sure but he doesn't know which one is trapped? Unless you are on the most open map ever you will get 2-3 traps down before anybody spots you…And you don't know what the killer is at the beginning of the game, so you probably will not try to find him immediatly and risk going down within seconds.
Typically, the unopen trap is a good indicator of a Trapper. Remember we are talking about a system where gens are locked. The only productive thing a survivor could is find the killer and start a chase so the game can begin. Finding a Trapper early means you avoid the area the Trapper was found.
-
So the Blight never hooked anyone? Is this a common occurrence in your games?
-
Yes, so by this time next year we can ruin ruin and buff kick perks instead.
-
It's best not to get hyped or you risk disappointment.
-
It's bad if the killer has shown a pattern of returning to the hook.
-
Sabo or how I learned to love the Slug.
