Should we disable perks when changes are announced? Are we going to disable thing only when its nerfs? How about buffs?
-
Without updates the game dies. But the amount of new killers/survivors can see a decrease per year. The current model was too aggressive from the start. They should turn a couple chapters into dedicated health/balanced updates.
-
The mode is a metaphor for the current playerbase. Unable to see two feet in front of them.
-
Anybody that clicks Ready should be commited to play that match. To leave that match is breaking that commitment leaving the other players envolved holding the bag.
Think of it as signing a contract. There are penalties to breaking a contract. Don't sign up if you can't keep your end of the deal.
-
Slugging a survivor is not camping.
-
May I introduce, the Fallout series. Years of garbage code on top of garbage code. I don't know why some have this naive notion that if BHVR were to takes steps to destroy their only cash cow, that they would do it from the ground up.
-
Survivors still let teammates die on hook.
-
It's called marketing. Network latency has zero impact to your PC's FPS. You can have 120fps and still rubberband around the map.
-
Would think it would have a buff to the item taken from a chest or something.
-
When playing in a SWF the member with the hightest MMR is used for match making. You state 1k hours, how about your teammates?

It can be used, yes, but is still not a requirement. I have no issues with any of the filters to be honest. I also kind of believe this may just be a temporary bug. But none of the software is a requirement to install.
It even says this on the driver download.
*This download includes the NVIDIA graphics driver and an option to additionally install the GeForce Experience application.
Its optional because it's not needed to run your graphics card but is still selected during a clean install by default. The application is more than just a filter and has other usage. Just because someone has a legit application installed and running shouldn't cause concerns about being banned.
-
Neither one is really impressive.
Getting everything to P9 is more impressive.

Just wanted to throw in here. Unless they've changed something recently, GeForce experience is an "optional" part of the driver software. You can even download it separately if I recall. It's not a requirement.
It's selected by default and could be used for other games besides DBD.

Sure, but I can't hear anything over that high pitch sound. It's so annoying and loud.
I wonder, if I can fix it with equalizer...
You can lower the volume but cannot isolate it out of the mix.

Maybe expectations were too high?

Bats aren't blind
Neither are you. You just can't see the survivors.
-
Cosmetic selection is a popularity contest. If it sales it ships.
-
Bats use echolocation to find prey.
-
Even if you don't use NVIDIAs reshade/freestyle it's installed by default unless you do a custom install. Are we saying that running a common video driver software will result in a ban? I don't think so.

It is not an exploit. Survs lose collision with the killer during flashbang animation. It always worked like this.
During flashbang or pickup animation?
-
It's so when you get tired of them buzzing around you and hit them. They can come to the forum and complain about tunneling.
-
Solo queue is bad because teammates give up too easy and only care about themselves.
SWFs don't give up on each other.
Camping/tunneling. Sorry but this has been a thing for 8+ years and survivors didn't DC as much as they do now. You want a better experience as survivor? Tell the player base to either play the game or don't play at all.

to have easier late game?
That late game gonna come faster than you expected.
-
Why would an experienced killer chase the strongest survivor first?
-
Sure you can 100% the achievements. But then BHVR slap you across the face with an Outbreak Breakout.
-
Such small changes yet breaks so much.

As for queue times... 2v8 is VERY popular. It's a real suffer from success situation. You have alot of ppl queueing to play killer because having a killer teammate which is a new experience. The gamemode is also basically the "casual" mode ppl have been wanting since there's no need to remember 100 different perks.
You mean, the gamemode is easy mode for Killer. This is why it is popular. I have yet to play a game where I did not get at least a 7K with a random Killer teammate.
I've had a handfull of games where 6+ have escaped.
-
There are 8 survivors on the map. When a survivor is caged they pop up on the other side of the map. Since most survivors run in the opposite side of the killers, the killers will stop finding survivors where they are and move to the side of the map where the caged survivor is at. Since survivors group up to heal and auras poping everywhere. There's a good chance the killer is going to find a recently unhooked survivor. Any killer will go towards the injured survivor. Take note there's no indication to the killer you were just unhooked. You look like any other injured survivor and there's too many to keep track of.
-
That seems a bit drastic. You could just let the account sit dormant and maybe one day come back to it.

If there are generator left to be repaired, then why should the killer lose MMR if the survivor escapes through a gate?
Because that's the system bhvr made. You wanted to know what to do, now you know.

There's no stress here. But I do try to climb MMR in every PvP game I play, and there's zero reason to make an exception here just because MMR is hidden.
Therefore, I should absolutely play in whatever way maximizes my MMR gains, since I'm given any facts on the MMR details.
If the 4th survivor really isn't important, then BHVR can just flat out tell us the MMR details about the 4th survivor… We have been told that hatch escapes are 0 MMR, but we still don't know if gate escapes are worth 0 MMR if there are still generators left. That is very important information. if there are still generators left, then any escape survivors make should be 0 MMR points. We shouldn't have a loophole that survivors can gain MMR from gate escapes when there are still generators left.
…and if killers are not supposed to slug for the 4k, then BHVR should tell us the 4th survivor is always worth 0 MMR points, and therefore it literally doesn't matter what happens to them.
If you're that worried, then this is basically how it is.
Survivor dies = killer +1
Survivor escapes = killer -1
Survivor escapes via hatch = draw
Now, the system bhvr deployed has a soft cap. Meaning there is a limit to what match making uses to match you with someones else. Say the soft cap is 17,000. You could have an MMR score of 50,000 but match making will only see you as 17,000. Thats why it's meaningless to raise your MMR. Even if you let every survivor escape for the next 100 games, your MMR wouldn't fall below the soft cap threshold.
-
I guess we can make it a game where survivors frolic in an open field chased by the classic slow moving zombie.

Not being able to see MMR causes its own issues.
If there are generators left, there is only one survivor alive, and the killer closes hatch… we don’t know if the killer will lose MMR (and the survivor will gain MMR) if the survivor escapes through a gate. This means that if the gates are too far apart and the killer can’t defend them both, then the killer should never want to close hatch, and the survivor should never want to jump in hatch.
And since we don’t know if a 3k and 4k is a big MMR difference or small MMR difference, killers should always slug for the 4k, because they don’t know how badly their MMR is being affected by letting the 4th person have a chance at hatch.
Maybe having it hidden means not to stress over little things like this.
-
Probably nothing to do with space, 20k < 2 bytes, but with concerns with an overflow exploit.
-
When she hits her camera pushes forward beyond the survivor. Makes it seem the survivor disappears. It wasn't always this way even before the November update. It's been like that since dedicated servers. The way it is now is just more out of sync than usual.

Maybe, but that's not really the whole picture.
In theory, all of these modes have the same ratio of 1 killer to 4 survivors, and with MMR turned off in 2v8, it shouldn't really matter which queue people are in unless people are also switching roles.
Which is the real problem with 2v8: you have survivors switching to play kwf instead in droves, which is why the ratio is broken in both have modes right now.
MMR is still used for match making in these game modes. The adjustment to your MMR score is disabled.

Many cheaters getting find at least on steam if they have only 10-20 hours in game and still have p100 character wich is huge red flag and now the can do it for free
That's if you can check their hours. It's likely either you're not on the same platform or they private their profile.
-
Unless you believe P100 = cheater, there is no way to tell if someone is cheating by looking at their prestige level.
-
Two game modes with one taking twice as many players (so essentially 3 modes) splitting the available player base. Of course this is the result.
-
Now you will need to come up with a new excuse as to why killers are dodging you.
-
Another cycle in the back and forth between time efficiency. Now survivors can stay on gens longer without feeling pressure to go rescue.
In a year or two the devs will make a change referencing the hook time. Just normal dbd.
-
First off extremely unfun that the major killer strategy is to just hard focus one survivor making loops and vaults completely meaningless
If only we could of forseen this not at all obvious strategy when we proposed the 2v8 idea.

The AI calculated it was better to just not try.

Zanshin Tactics

Auto mori? No, you actively have to use it. You only mori when tapping M1 while breathing down the survivor's neck. Lunging doesn't trigger it.
Yes, survivors are dumb and will act like bugs to a bug zapper. Even in this case the addons only saved you having to hook one. It could of easily been 4 slugs with how foolish they played.

The 'suggested counterplay' in this thread is:
- Voluntarily waste time dropping your item in the corner, so you have to waste more time later to go get it, just in case the killer runs this combo, or
- Spend an extra perk slot to voluntarily show your aura to the killer, again even if this killer isn't running the perk.
Both of these have been complained about (and likely already nerfed I might add) by killers as 'unacceptable counters'.
Number 1 was the exact counter to boons (going out of your way to snuff) and that wasn't an acceptable counter... So much so that boons were effectively deleted from the game.
As for #2, object being considered a counter here is hilarious. The exact reason that 'old object' was considered too powerful is because it essentially always gave wall hacks, and it was nerfed because very consistent aura reading is not healthy for the game. So now the argument is that is that this aura reading is now only one sided it's supposedly ok? Just equip that perk and it'll function essentially like the old object? Old object and old MoM are considered some of the most broken things this game has ever had, so the power level were taking about here absolutely needs looked at for adjusting.
Only reason to drop it in a corner is to prevent teammates from stealing your item. If there was trust between survivors you could drop it next to you while repairing a gen.
-
None of the modes so far have been.
-
New players have more integrity than some of the player base. You can 8 hook with 5 gens remaining and they will still try. Other survivors: Get 1 hook with 3 gens about to pop? Well guess I'll die now.
-
Scratch marks are getting worse in general. On top of sound going silent with ever object between you and the survivor, there will be large gaps in the scratch marks mid chase.
-
Why have a lobby?
Why have offering screen?
Why have cosmetics?
Why have characters?
Why have maps?
Why have an end screen? Just put us in queue for the next match.
