Some killers tunnel simply because a 3v1 is better than a 4v1. Even if you make killer super easy some people will try to remove a survivor as fast as possible due to that fact.
Does tunneling blow up in killer's faces? It can, but only when survivors are actually good at running a killer. Some killer's have it in there mind to never let go of a hopeless chase even if it cost them several gens.

There are long standing bugs for many elements in this game. For any of them to be fixed is a miracle someone did something besides making new cosmetics.
It's not uncommon for the Devs to say one thing years ago and say the exact opposite today. A bug yesterday is a feature today. An affect written in plan English is said to be a bug and is "fixed". This is what you can expect from DBD.
-
If you can bypass a penalty is it really a penalty? There were some who would rage quit and not play until the next day. What penalty did they have to endure? The fact that the OP is troubled with having to actually face a penalty speaks for itself.
-
good intentioned anti-tunnel and anti-slug
The road to the fog is paved with good intentions.
Yes, major changes need their PTB and feedback needs to be taken before going live. Current PTB is nothing more than a preview for the next update. Only a handful of times have they come out and said this feature is a test only. And we are partially to blame why they don't do more. Each of those times were followed by demands they be implemented and angry after many months after.
-
It's neither but any PvP game will be competive by nature. The game is not designed for both sides to have fun at the same time. One side will be frustrated by the end of a match and being that energy to the next one.

Mechanic is outdated.
Oh so what's the modern standard we should be looking at? Or you just want everything in the web and making a suggestion but adding dramatic flair?
There's nothing "outdated" by the mechanic. You aren't ment to grab everything or there would just be a points shop. You go for what you want by sarificing other choices.
The secondary effect of your suggestion is going back to a painful grind to leveling by effectively doubling the mount of BP needed to complete the webs.
The suggestion to shrinking the amount of noded in the web makes your suggestion a zero sum of what we have now which makes zero sense in wasting time developing.

To piggyback off of this as well, the results typically aren't the same. I'd be willing to bet bully squads lose more often than not because of the amount of resources it takes to maintain that playstyle, while hardcore camping/tunneling/slugging (at least in my experience) wins more trials because of how difficult it is to combat while cranking out all 5 gens and opening the gates.
It's essentially "I really hate dealing with these a-holes but at least I stomped them" vs. "I really hate dealing with this a-hole and there was nothing I could do about it". That impacts players very differently.

I would agree there too.

Of course you couldn't because I don't think you care about Survivor. I don't hold that against you either. But I'm telling it like it is.

That's where I think pulling it overall was a good idea. What shot their credibility for me however, was how quickly they pulled it and how some of the Survivor nerfs still made it through anyway. Personally it reads less like they want to encourage health and more like they don't want to piss off the wrong people.
Its clear they were ready to go live and pull it last second. BHVR being BHVR they left nearly every other change going with it in.
Unlikely but hopefully they fully test the next system in a PTB and shoot for the following mid chapter to bring it live if it passes.

Anti-Tunnel? How about we introduce a system which punishes you for BEING TUNNELED, oh wait they already did:
Go-Next Prevention. And people are asking for the same mistake to be made in phase 2. Half backed solutions that hurt the game more than helps. Instead of making bad changes and ripping them out a week later, lets test thing out in the PTB where issues can be discovered and resolved.
-
You won't get the PTB version just like we didn't get the PTB auto mori changes. Something tamer will come out at some point.
BHVR will rework the idea and give us the ability to test it in another PTB. This is good as these large game changing/breaking ideas should be tested in a PTB.
What people are doing is discouraging BHVR from doing these public test. If an idea comes to the PTB its automatically must come to live or BHVR is breaking promises. BHVR has said they want to fix these issues but last PTB wasn't the solution and it will take more time. Or do we want to suffer through half baked solutions that hurt more than help?
-
I've completed all 100 levels of the last rift but not a single milestone.
-
Instead of not being able to do gens
Somebody wasn't around when you could repair gens and keep DS. Knowing what would happen isn't even a hypothetical.
-
When killers go for kill streaks they are not going for 12 hooks. They will kill someone asap and slug as much as they can. If bhvr implements a system like in the last PTB you won't see these long streaks. Really when SBMM was tight you didn't have win streaks because every match was competitive. If it wasn't for streamer tears making the MM rules looser you wouldn't be seeing winning streaks now.

https://deadbydaylight.wiki.gg/wiki/Burong_Sukapat#Power:_Unbodied_Flesh
My bad, it was in the wiki (makes sense that BHVR would omit that detail though, just look at how people reacted when they figured it out. It's also not the first time patch notes do not contain certain details about Killer powers).
Even then, there's countless videos and threads about it. Be reasonable, there's no shame in accepting that you were wrong.
It's not that I was wrong or even if I was determined to be right. I've originally came to this discussion thinking it was the spit ball itself being talked about. Clearly, I was wrong about that. When I went and saw the video I was flabbergasted this is even worthy enough to be complained about. Even prior to watching I gave a counter example that I personally experienced in game and in a real match and got down voted for it.
People want to complain about the dumbest things and wonder why the Dev's don't listen.

The splash shouldn't be changing direction dependant on the survivor location.
After seeing how inconsistent geometry is in the game, think of blight, you still find the reason for it as unacceptable? The splat is an AOE. The Dev's more than likely wanted to save resources by only sending projectiles in the direction where it mattered. The alternative is an greater sphere in all directions while the result remained the same.
Even with the way it works, many surfaces do send them upwards or not in the direction of the survivor at all. The ones on this thread are claiming an unfair advantage when one does not exists. You are not guaranteed an infection by aiming at a random wall. I've had many instances where the projectiles did go in the direction of the survivor but none of the projectiles hit. When I've spoke of my experience it wasn't a stationary survivor backed by a flat surface but many matches against real players trying to get away. I've never once said to myself "that shouldn't of hit" because there were many times when it should of but didn't. When I did bring up an instance where a survivor did stand still and the projectiles completely missed, it's down voted 30 times, because it doesn't follow the narrative that the Dev's hate survivors and give killers every advantage.
TF do you mean Krasue's spit auto-targets?! I thought those Krasue I faced just outplayed me, but you're telling me BHVR added a system to actually hold their hands?!
The best part about all this, the infection means little in a chase. The buildup is so slow there's little risk to becoming broken in a reasonable time, unlike Plague. The only disadvantage is getting into other aspects of the killer where there are unfair advantages. Little to no cool down between forms and fight. Even after shooting a spit ball you can swing immediately.

Are your splashes always hitting? Mine certainly aren't. Could you enable this brain dead ability for me please?

There is an autoaim, it's literally written in a patch note, even if you deny other people's experience and video evidence and only consider your own as valid.
However there's a few caveats to the autoaim (which may explain why you don't see it, somehow).
The autoaim splash only triggers when "bouncing" the projectile (I've yet to see it "explode" when hitting the ground) on walls or on a Survivor.
The splash only autoaims within 8 meters if I recall correctly, so you still need to hit within the general location of a Survivor (in my experience, it seems to be able to reach within most tiles).
The initial projectile doesn't autoaim, only the splash does.
Where?

Theres definitely auto aim with the splat as long as a survivor is within afew meters of where the projectile hits.
That's not auto aim! It isn't even aim assist. The splat just points in the general direction of the survivor. What do people expect to see? A full 180° spray? That would be double what is already happening!
People complain about the dumbest things. There is so many thing wrong with the new killer but they choose this hill to die on. Complete madness.

Ah yes, disregard all evidence cuz I believe it isnt true. Lmao with that logic someone could say that twins is not a killer in the game because they havent face them yet. I really hope you are baiting/trolling.
Difference is I've played her in many matches. You make it out that I've never played a match and couldn't know. I have her adept and her power's achievement. If it's stupidly easy to hit a survivor then it shouldn't be my experience missing shots. Maybe some skill is involved.
If you want to complain about something productive, maybe why can she just fly up to a survivor and attack with little cooldown?

There is objectively an autoaim. If you aim a a si gle spot and there is no survivor the recoil will go to a preset position. If a survivor approaches and you shoot the exact same way the proyectiles will go towards the survivor. Try it on a custom game with friends, saying there is no autoaim is a lie.
Not my experience.

When Myers received buffs last year Tier 1 movement speed was increased to 4.4m/s
That's all the buffs he ever needed then. Now we have the rework.
-
@jasonq500 said:
There's so many ways they could've done with the rework, the idea is there. But what we got is a bunch of nerfs (stalking range lowered, stealth movement speed being 4.2 ms, tier 3 lasting 40 seconds) then copy pasted a dash ability that's not even fun to use
genuinely this is arguably another failure of a rework right next to trickster
If they for some reason want to keep the dash, then at least they should make tuff of hair literally old myers again
it's too late now, but the community needs to stop demanding reworks for they never turn out like we want. Most if not all end up being disapointments.
-
Old T3 was basically a suped-up M1. So it was better than a charge and dash.
-
My experience, there's no auto aim, even with the splat. Had a survivor stand still and I hit the wall behind them, the splat completely missed going both left and right of the survivor.

[P100 means nothing and is worth nothing] and thats fine, at the end of the day its just a way to spend excessive bp and watch a number go up.
Agree
-
Tier 1 wasn't 4.4m/s. It was the same as it is now. On release Tier 1 was slower at 4.14m/s.
Also, people need to stop begging for reworks. They never turn out like you want and often turn out worse.

The issue, downvoting maked it's way back into the interface. As far as the forum content goes its about the same as always.

survivors can't skip the last hook stage like before
You can attempt selfunhook and die in 2 missed skill checks in 1v2…
did that make it to live? Guess not many know because I've haven't seen survivors do it.

If you need a place to get Steam backgrounds from, Steam Grid DB is great for that.

Explain for me how it's kinda impossible to 4K
Killer can't slug more than 1 in 1v2? So even if they find second survivor, they can't down them, because first survivor will get unbreakable, right? Then what go back and just keep doing this over and over again?
So you just have to play hatch and hope for the best.
Not always the case. I'm not saying they get instantly up so you weigh the options by the situation. Not all survivors are death hook by the last 2 and survivors can't skip the last hook stage like before.

That does not change the issues it have…
Your feature also makes it kinda impossible to 4k unless you win hatch and gate.
and no antislugging feature should work when all gens are finished.Explain for me how it's kinda impossible to 4K? Or is this a critique of slugging for the 4K aspect?
-
@PetTheDoggo said:
Survivors can pick themselves up if n-1 of active survivors are slugged or hooked.
In a 1v4 a killer can slug up to two survivors. At three, survivors gain the ability to pick themselves up.
n-1 with 4 active players should be 3, no?
which creates very fun situation, when I managed to down 3 survivors as Oni and I find last survivor, I can't down them. My best play would be to follow them and just down whoever they pick up until everyone else bleed out.
Issue is, if I would simply down them to end the game, they can all pick themselves up.The anti slugging system does not disabled during EGC.
Yeah, which means killer can just give up. When all gens are finished, slugging is only way to get comeback. You don't have time to hook.
You will have to view this as an alternative to the PTB. I've rather have slugging remain viable as a slow down tactic than a punishment.

You can add faster crawling speed, if you are fully recovered.
That still wouldn't affect majority of players, but would make this feature better, if needed.
Even with faster speed it would be hell. Imagine solo queue where your teammate doesn't understand and crawls away from you.
-
@PetTheDoggo said:
So far my favorite suggestions is what they talked about in scott video, where survivors can pick each other up while being slugged and fully recovered.
That simply deals with mass slugging and that's it.
if they are close to eachother. May have to crawl cross map to do so.

Isn't the new one easier because you can mori on the floor or standing up? By just having them death hook and you being t3?
You can only mori on death hook. Meaning you better have the last two survivors ready.
The mori must be done using the power but T3 is much shorter now. There's a great chance they can get the hatch before you go T3.
-
Think the problem here is evaluating one of the weakest exhaustion perks.
-
The perk works as intended. Yes, some survivors will bully with it, you just need to be mindful of it. There's no holding hostage.
-
Any killer.
Same reason picking up a survivor changed the killer facing direction for a long time.

Probably trying the achievement while it's still possible.

damn right i am if they are close together, as a result i end up escaping. if slugs want to spread out then im more likely to help one that isnt by the killer. nothing wrong with that.
I understand if the killer is not leaving them but the moment you pop that gen they know exactly where you are. Now if it's the last gen and you are betting on the adrenaline play, sure, I just hope it's not with multiple gens to go.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/456961/anti-slug-suggestion
whole team slugging isnt an issue, there is literally an abandon option designed for when all are slugged the survivors can move on to the next match.
i would argue slugging as a whole isnt really an issue because as long as there is 1 player left they can either do gens or heal the slug. its like if the player was hooked. the other team players can either do gens or unhook except slugging takes 4min to bleed out. thats 4 whole minutes the other player or players can do gens.
if im slugged i rather the team forget me and do gens….i would do the same if they were slugged. if the team all decide to rush over to me and get themselves slugged thats on them. Thats the only way to reduce slugging as a means of winning, make it so they dont win which is solved by correct team play.
I hope you are not doing gens when three of your teammates are slugged.
-
I'm in the 80s and only really played during the 2v8. Other than the event it was maybe one match a day.

Time to switch to another platform.
