If possible do totem Spirit (Ruin, Devour, Haunted and Thrill).

Hmm interesting. But I'm not surprised. Devs had a probably a different Design philosophy back then. It was more common for AddOns to come with a downside like like Scarred Hand. And people didn't understand the game as much as we do now. Maybe the it was too succesfull back then, because survivors couldn't adjust to it that well.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1225253#Comment_1225253

That's interesting. Wonder why. Theoretically Vanity Mirror should be the worser AddOn. The killer is taking away their Tier 3 ability and movement speed for a close range wallhack, compared to an AddOn which sarcrifices Tier 3 to eliminate a survivor out of the game quite early. The last should be the better trade-off.

Wonder if it has more to do about how people play those AddOns or if it's downsides are more crucial with the current game design. If I think about it. Vanity Mirror might lead to more straight forward chases and less incentives the Killer to waste time etc. But that's just a little bit Spekulatius from my side.

I think people are stalking to much, therefore wasting time and giving Survivors easy gens. You might end up with only 1 Kill or maybe 2.

The way I use Tombstone Piece is a bit different.

I start stalking to get out of Tier 1 as quick as possible like with every other Myers build and stalk the first Survivor to 99 % if possible to get them red but not completely so I can still stalk them.

Then I switch chases, try and find someone else, hope my Haunted breaks in the meantime and get an early Tier 3 basically and get my first hook very quick. If not, I chase normally unless they are in a very good positon. If I get the next Survivor on a hook I have pressure, so I will keep on stalking after I find the next person and potentially kill them while the other guy is still on the hook. So they basically are one less person now with 5 or maybe 4 gens remaining.

The match is basically free at that point because they lost one guy very early on.

    My build would be following:

Tombstone Piece with J. Myers Memorial

    • Haunted Grounds: To get early pressure, if someone destroys it I basically get a normal Tier 3 for 60 seconds and get early pressure.
    • Corrupt Intervention: To get a bit of passive slowdown, Pop wouldn't be that great since I want to use the Tombstone Piece. Corrupt also encourages people so cleanse Totems, they might destroy Haunted even quicker.
    • Play with your Food and Nemesis: Basically getting speed everytime I get stunned which will make it harder to dodge my Tombstone Piece while I am in Tier 3. It also gives me an easier time when chasing people normally.

    Killer: Michael Myers

    Build:

    Addons

    Judith's Tombstone

    Judith's Journal

    Perks

    Nemesis

    Play with your Food

    Corrupt Intervention

    Ruin

I don't really need to explain this other than Judith's Journal being much better for this build than Tuft of Hair.

Just wanted to share the excact same build xD. And yeah, I also think Juidth's Journal with Nemesis is better than Infinite Tier 3. I almost got my 4 Tombstone kills with that combo as well.

  • I like them both pretty much and equally. The most satisfying thing for me is when landing a quick scope, it feels nice. With Huntress it's landing a far hatchet or a clean hatchet which goes between objects right onto the Survivor.

Yea Thats what I mean, the times you got a grab. Maybe they heard the phase or didn't but I know its inconsistent. Hopefully its looked into soon

This bug exists even since before her changes. Nobody is either reporting or talking about it. It doesn't affect her to much but yeah, it's a thing for a pretty long time already.

  • @Almo said:

Tombstone Piece actually has a lower success rate than Vanity Mirror (and everything else, for that matter).

Tombstone Piece can get rid of 1 or 2 or even 3 Survivors if used right. It's an extremely powerful Add-On.

Vanity Mirror gives you a bit of Aura Reading which is useful on some maps but if used on normal maps in a normal match, this Add-On just nerfes Myers and makes him worse than basekit.

The only thing I think might be good on Vanity Mirror is it creates a mindgame because if people are cautious they might think that the Killer has the Judith's Tombstone because of the opened left hand and smoother movement, forcing Survivors to play more careful but that's pretty much it.

Tombstone Piece is great on any map actually.

  • @Freudentrauma said:

I think Vanity Mirror would be fine without the Movement Speed reduction. That would turn Myers to an M1 killer with the ability to watch survivor movements in loops. Not great or much exciting, but it would work, I think.

I used to be like that. The first version was:

    Vanity Mirror:

    • Evil Within II reveals Survivors Auras within 16 metres while stalking.
    • Evil Within cannot progress past Tier II.
    • Get 100 % bonus Bloodpoints for the Hit score event in the Brutality category and 150 % more Bloodpoints in the Deviousness category.

    Patch 1.2.1d

Nerf: Added a 7 % speed penalty to the Vanity Mirror

Don't ask me why, they did nerf an already "meh" Add-Ons to be even more garbage.

  • Shadowborn for Killers.

    Premonition for Survivors.

  • A Perk which doubles your BP but gives you the Oblivious and Blindness Effect troughout the game.

It would be a better challenge Perk than No Mither.

    Perception Disorder:

    - You start the match with the Oblivious and Blindness Status Effects for the duration of the Trial.

    - Bloodpoint gains are increased by 50/75/100 % and will be gained after the Trial.

  • @Deadeye said:

@Ghost_Face_Main @NursesBootie But that would require grabs to be successful. Once you hit them, they are alerted and chasing with Scratched Mirror doesn't work, if you don't want to lose 2 gens per chase. I just had "decent" games with it, when I had to play other maps because of survivors bringing other map offerings and apparently not expecting scratched mirror, giving me easy hits by trying to hide.

@Aven_Fallen Actually Hawkins is the worst map. The catwalks are pretty safe, without some PWYF stacks you cannot catch anyone there or lose a lot of time. I have the best results on Gideon, because you have the best information. It has the smallest base size, so you can pretty much see the whole map by circling the center 4 rooms above or below and you know where everybody is. And there is only a single safe healing spot on the whole map, which is in the corner of the map at the big dropdown. I heard people saying that finding the stairs can take too much time. Yeah you need to get familiar with the stairs placement to find the best path. But getting to a gen in Lery's can actually take more time, if you even "see" that you need to get there

I think the ms reduction to the Vainity mirror is really ruining the addon. You already steal his power. Both of it. Undetectable T1 is gone and Instadown T3 is gone. So what's the point of T2? Nothing except a slightly decreased TR. So he has basically nothing left and gets 16m aura reading and STILL needs to move slowly. Anyone knows how fast he is in Vanity T2?

I tried to run it on Badham several times with M&A and Dead Rabbit to get close to 0 TR. Survivors still get alerted soon enough, so close windows or pallets give the needed kickoff to be save and chasing at low speed simply doesn't work like with Scratched Mirror. And 16m aura reading doesn't help out in any way. You still need to get almost into hearing distance to gens, have even less map pressure than Mikey has normally and "mindgaming with aura reading" is easily countered by pressing "W".

So this addon basically removes all benefits from his power and turns him into a slow M1 killer. With short range aura reading, that is useless in most situations

I think he moves at 108 %, slightly faster than Tier 1 Myers, better lunge BUT he isn't undetectable which means he requires one TR Add-On plus Monitor while Tier 1 Myers doesn't need any of them, he also has a red stain and gets destroyed by Object.

I rather use Judith's Tombstone at that point, I move at 106 % but I can still instadown and even kill Survivors with Play with your Food.

  • Losing a part of the power gauge when hitting someone was there since Legion's release.

I don't really know why tbh.

I've already explained this but I will do it again. A lot of people play videogames as an escape from their daily stressful rutine. Do they have to stop playing because some group ruined their experience but they can't do the same?

People doesn't care about them but they have to care about others?

Why anyone would follow that logic? Even someone that is not affected by emotions can see that the root cause to a person being toxic is in most cases because the interaction with other that's being toxic. Correct me if I'm wrong but you are indirectly saying that one can be toxic but the other has to "get help". A person emotionaly involved would never follow logic, but that's not even logic it seems like a selfish statement on the line of "I don't care about your problems so don't splash them out at me". Also telling people in a bad mood that you don't care don't help, it probably makes it worse as all the players that don't care will be the target because in a defensive stance, everyone that's not friendly will tend to be seen as an enemy.

And being annoyed by a social interaction doesn't mean you have psychological problems. Having emotions is a problem? Do you think venting some steam out in a videogame is that bad? I mean ... there are limits of course but raging after being teased is not a psychological problem in most cases.

If you get in a bad mood because of a game, you should probably stop playing. Doesn't matter if you had a stressful day or not. If you had one, why bothering with even more stress in a game which is supposed to be fun.

If I get in a bad mood of dbd or any game I go outside, get some fresh air or sit on my balcony with a beer and enjoy myself, forgetting about a video game at that point, and not taking "revenge" on other people because you lost.

If you feel stress because of a video game, you're better off leaving or do somethig else. You can always do somethig productive, and who says otherwise can't be serious, or maybe video games are everything in those people's eyes.

You can call me selfish if you want, maybe I am. It would be pretty unwise to not look after yourself at first.

  • I mean, if people get extremely mad at this or any game, instead of ruining others experience they could instead just quit the game and smash something by their own. Nobody will care and at that point you have aggression or emotional problems anyways and should get help tbh.

  • I am a variation type player but most of the time I stick with Huntress and Oni. They are the most fun ones for me.

  • I remember when people said new Freddy was a worse Clown because his snares are garbage... yeah. Things have changed a bit

  • Well, thank you both for answering/responding. I'm gonna look at their descriptions again.

  • Iri. Head Nerf = yes, definitely.

Huntress Nerf, no. She, Myers, basic Billy and Oni seem like the best and most balanced Killers. High skill cap but powerful in the right hands.

  • Due to consistency he would have a 24 metre TR which can be reduced to 16. Play with your food would be Godlike on this Killer since you only lose 1 stack per hit.

    Probably a bit op.

  • I mean, being competetive is more of a mindset than an actual reality in this game. Caring for being the best isn't always the best option, instead focus on having fun. It's not easy to get used to it but if you get used to it, the game becomes a lot more fun.

  • Because he's a good boi. He alaways UwU's as well when picking someone up.

  • Because there is a small minor QoL change for Legion that doesn't mean they are the big point of Chapter 16 and it's Midchapter. This only includes Deathslinger, Zarina, Dead Dawg Saloon, all the content (breakable walls, major Perk changes) Midchapter including the Map and Repair Changes.

  • Any plans on changing the bushes on Dead Dawg Saloon? At the moment you can easily blend in with those bushes if you have a dark outfit.

  • I rarely run Moris but if I do I use them on last hook if it's a chill solo game. If it's a sweaty SWF I am forced to use them immediately.

  • This is outrageous, it's unfair.

  • I should start using more Kindres and Bond. Grabbing Popcorn and getting entertained by my Teammates.

  • @Katzengott said:

I think they're on a good way now balance-wise. Please don't stop there.

There're still things what need to change so both sides can have more fun:

    • Keys/Moris, NOED and Hatch need a rework
    • Huntress IRIs need a rework
    • Survivor Second chance Perks need a limit per Survivor (DS, BT, Unbreakable, Adrenaline)
    • SWFs need a action-debuff per SWF
    • 99% gates need a rework (make it so it decreases like gens do with Ruin)

The last suggestion seems good, since Hex:Ruin is an late game Perk.

  • Or you could.. idk run and search for a Team Mate who mends you instead.

  • At the moment the Oni. Started learning him and he so much fun.

  • You need to get used to not pressing forward to move forward, it's weird until you get used to it.

Same for PC where I play, you usually press W to go forward. In Oni's case you have to press A and S and ignore W.

  • This is a great day for Dead by Daylight, it has seen the end of God Loops and now it will see the end of toxic Survivors.

  • @BenZ0 said:

You seem to get alot of bad survivors, when I play against a Legion alone or with swf we loop him always for ages and manage always to escape all 4 or 3 if someone get camped at the endgame.

If you meet bad survivors or really altruistic survivors then every killer can get 4ks, its more about how well or sirious they play.

Yeah, but how often do you get those Top Tier Survivors. I either lose when I get them and that's rare or when I played extremely bad and made many mistakes. But getting those top Survivors is pretty rare.

SWF is an exeption, because they can do poorly around loops, get downed within 10 seconds and still escape because they can coordinate on the gens because of comms.

But 4 man Top Solo Teams are the true "Ultra Rare" in this game.

  • The thing is, you can be ok or even good with every Killer and lose against good Survivor or you are either a God with only 3-4 Killers, win almost every match but therefore sacrifice variety.

It's all about experience. I started to play a lot of Oni because he seems to have great potential while also playing Huntress and Billy a lot.

I still play every Killer for variety but those 3 are my Main to go Killers where I want to get better, where I have like a "ok, I know I can win with this Killer" feeling.

  • No Mither. I have a challenge every match, if the Killer has no tracking then I can't get revealed as easy.

Killer. Might as well play Perkless so I'll pick Shadowborn for QoL improvement.

  • I'd like to see Oni Mains who explain well how they play them. At the moment I have problems with baiting to dash right but go left. I know you have to use A,W,S and camera very well with him.

  • I use following as the most optimal build:

    Dead Hard:

    • Allows me to extend loops for much lunger, getting more Evader points. Can be used to bait bodyblocks sometimes and to save teammates who are in trouble. Get the Killer to chase after you.

    Decisive Strike:

    • Sometimes I don't run it. Sometimes I don't even have it and jump into a locker, the Killer thinks I have it and respects my non existent DS. But usually I run it because there are the type of Killers who tunnel no matter what. It's just like an insurance.

    Borrowed Time:

    • If the Killer camps, I can unhook, maybe hooktrade to sacrifice myself for others because at that point I probably black pipped or pipped already.

    We'll make it:

    • If the Killer doesn't camp, I can unhook, instantly heal the Survivor within 8-10 seconds and keep the fast heal for 90 seconds. I don't get how people could not run this Perk. It denies any Anti Healing Builds and gives tons of Altruism.

Usually I take a Med Kit on top of it to heal myself (basically self care as a 5th Perk but without wasting 2 minutes in the corner of the map.)

  • Basically slowdown Freddy if you mean "boring" and not annoying or unfun.

Use Swing Chains and Jump Rope, Thana, Dying Light and Pop and there you have it. M1 simulator ft. Freddy Krueger. That's boring.

  • I enjoy playing as and against Spirit, Demo, Oni and Deathslinger. Why don't u like the others after Pig?

  • @Awkward_Fiend said:

Soon you'll be able to do it against thicker walls in Macmillan.

Damn, I hope my Chainsaw doesn't break.

  • I just pull them out and waste their DS because they won't have it for endgame. Usually I already have the High Ground over the Survivors so it doesn't affect me anyways or I waste it and down someone else afterwards.

And then if the same person who used DS dares to enter my field of view I know they can't do anything anymore and they're dead.

  • They would have to name it differently. The desricption of "Undetectable" says: Removes the Killers red stain and Terror Radius. The Aura of the Killer will not be shown to Survivors while the Killer is undetectable.

Since it could only work on Nea they'd have to make another Status Effect similar to Untetectable for Survivors. But it would be nice, it would bring some consistency to Anti Aura Perks for Survivors.

What I'd also like to see more are Killer "Hindered" Add-Ons or even Perks which reduce the Survivors movement speed and "Haste" Perks for Survivors like Hope and Breakout.

Also, when we are already at it. Hope Timer shouldn't go down while on a hook or slugged.

  • An experienced Oni can definitely be far more lethal than an experienced Legion but they share one similarity.

    • Oni is a normal M1 Killer until he gets his power and a normal M1 Killer while his power needs to be charged, therefore he will have a hard time against good loopers in order to charge up his power.
    • Legion can injure Survivors very easy but in order to down them he becomes a normal M1 Killer.

In the end, Oni's power is far more dangerous, he gets mobility, has insta down, almost no penalty when missing.

    • Legion moves to slow to call it map pressure while using his power.
    • 130 % isn't fast enough to traverse the map good enough.
    • His power is a good tracking tool and can also stall Survivors from doing gens BUT if you even dare to miss one attack while in Frenzy, get stunned for 4 seconds and go trough a 20 second power cooldown.

The one positive is, Legion gets his power no matter what. Theoretically you could deny Oni of his power all game but practically you will get hit at some point, you can't outrun the Killer for a full match and if you could it's the Killers fault for still chasing you.

But Oni is definitely better, stronger and more fun. Still a M1 Killer for an extend.

int3r4ct's Entity Education series generally does a pretty good job getting the exact numbers of what addons do, fairly quickly after a Killer's release here's a link to his episode on Deathslinger:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5pV3V3wjU8

9:36 is when he starts going over all the Addons in rarity order, so just skip through to find whatever specifics you're looking for.

How the hell does he find out those numbers. Thanks, anyways.

Go to KYF, select the Deathslinger (if you own it) and then you can see it.

    2 Pink

    4 Purple

    5 Green

    5 Yellow

    4 Brown

This is the standard for Killers, lately. Only a few exceptions are left where the numbers do not fit.

No, I don't mean how many he has. I mean the exact details of the Add-Ons.

Like: Slightly (10 %) reduced cooldown for example. The Wiki shows the excact percents and numbers for most Killer but not Deathslinger. Maybe they'll introduce it soon.

  • The sad thing is, there was actually a serious Killer = Baby Mode thread a few days ago.

1 … 57 58 59 60 61 … 75
