    1. Ha ha, that's a good one. "Official " killer ratings mean nothing in the game. Trapper is listed as "easy". Do I need to explain? Myers has a very low skillcap and no, his "toolbox" is not complicated. Myers is just plain bad and needs a buff. You want a hard killer with a high skill cap? Play nurse, huntress or hillbilly.
    2. Are you blaming people for wanting to play with friends? Especially when the solo queue experience is horrendous? Anyway, if you don't like 4 man SWFs, you can always dodge them by checking their profiles. Easy enough. Don't see the issue.
    3. God forbid I too want to play with my friends sometimes. I play both sides, and I try to have fun playing as both of them. I'm not biased at all. And I hate to break it to you, no. Myers is not a hard killer. One of the easier ones to play, in fact. There are no advanced tactics to him, which is why he is so bad. He's just a basic M1 killer with a low skillcap.

    Whatever you say champ. :)

While I can support a slightly stronger effect on how long it takes to cleanse, I think that 25% would be WAY too much tbh- it works for some large maps, but it would be nigh impossible to cleanse totems on smaller maps against high mobility killers, unless you picked to cleanse it at a time when they were deep in a chase and about to down and then hook and they didn't want to lose their prey. The first totem would take about... 32 seconds to cleanse if my math is correct, which is plenty of time for a killer to book it towards you even at 110% speed on the largest map, if they're not occupied at the moment.

So a decently coordinated SWF could probably handle it, but it would just be another rough thing for solo queues to deal with.

True... finding the sweet spot is a problem. It isn't enough now... and that might be too much. But right now, the only people who REALLY do a lot of Bone ARE the SWF. :)

  • I do wish it were a bit stronger, say it extends the normal time to cleanse by 25% per Totem left, and thus is by +125% at the start of the game.

  • I run into Hackers at least once each day I put in a good long stretch of games. Some are mild hacks, and some are outrageous.

Then the issue is not SWF, because like I said - only a 10% survival rate gap between 4 man and solos - but the fact that you're playing a bad killer. Myers is outdated and not very good. Bottom tier, if you ask me. The solution is to buff the weaker killers, not to nerf SWFs/survivors.

You need to learn how to read statistics and take proper inferences from them. Or perhaps you are reading them correctly and purposely trying to skew them to support an unsustainable point. But let me correct you on a few things:

    1. Myers is not a BAD Killer; he is a HARD Killer. That is to say he has very little margin for error. Bad Players will find him unworkable as they advance through the Ranks. He has, however, an excellent toolbox and if applied correctly can stand up perfectly fine.
    2. Statistics are only as good as when they were last taken. The SWF is a "snowballing" problem. More and more people are choosing to play as a SWF. The longer a group of people play as a SWF the more pronounced the disparity becomes. In other words, the statistics you are quoting applies to the so-called casual, fun SWF who get a baseline advantage but don't press it. The competitive SWF (and there are more and more of them every day) leave those statistics in the dust. The problem is known, and growing.
    3. Your own desperation to defend and try to normalize something outside the game reveals your bias and NEED. In other words, unlike myself (who chose a Killer rated as HARD) and dove into the toughest matches I could to get better, you seem to want to endorse the easy way out. Do you see my point?
  • @MadLordJack said:

I don't think that that tactic works, unless the Devs have done their usual misdirection. It used to be a huge problem, til (thankfully) they changed matchmaking to only take into account the team member with the highest rank and apply it across all teammates. However, this coincided with the killer exodus and flood of new survivors and helped create the old 20 minute wait times, so they basically fixed that issue by having the matchmaking algorithm rapidly disable itself.

They may have had it fixed in the past, but after reading this thread today I started tracking my gal's matches. She recently got to Rank 12. She played 17 matches today... of those 12 of them had multiple Red and Purple Rank and always one or two strange level 15-20 which could only be explained by the fact they all loaded into the Lobby at the same time. So either there is this unprecedented (I've never seen this before) MENTORING program where Red Rank Survivors collect 1-2 Potatoes to train them.... OR... the SWF is being put together on purpose so that those Red Ranks pull a weaker Ranked Killer.

  • @ringwinning said:

...that as a key addict, I have not used one single key in my matches since I joined the forums and saw how much it pains you. You're welcome.

Well... Maui... I didn't ask you stop using keys so you can stick the "You're Welcome Song." :) I say that in good humor, not malice. If you like keys, use keys. I play against people who bring them or find them in my matches all the time. I have never once complained about them, and never will. When I see a Key I simply adapt my play to it; that person becomes a priority target depending upon what stage of the game were are currently enjoying. I think Survivors what complain about Killer Perks and tactics are being poor sports, and I think Killers who gripe about Survivor Perks and tactics are being the same.

  • I play both Survivor and Killer. As a Killer I will camp, tunnel, slug, and Mori if that is the appropriate tactic in a given match. Since every game is different, I never know for certain what I have to do until I have to do it. There is nothing "scummy" or wrong with these tactics. They are, in fact, counterproductive if you use them at the wrong time, or incorrectly. Many of these tactics are coming up more and more because every day there are more SWF playing, and the SWF we already had are getting more and more practiced at using their built in advantage. I'm going to avoid going into a lecture about positive and negative feedback loops. You can read about them on your own time; google them. It suffices to say that Dead by Daylight is currently in a Negative Feedback Loop if you consider the requirement to be more and more efficient and ruthless just to maintain the status quo. I'm sure you see my point.

I'm an advocate of splitting the Solo and SWF Ques. I think this is unavoidable in the end. It is the only solution where the DEV will be able to add balancing objectives to balance the 5th Perk (Comms) without hurting everyone else. I don't think it will slow Ques down because Killers will be more than happy to fight SWF if the playing field is leveled. My suggestion is always requiring an extra Generator to power the gates and unlocking a 5th Perk for the Killer against them. Whatever is eventually worked out, it will allow people to stand down from the OTHER solutions being used. How do current Killers cope? If you aren't a God (Monto, Otz, Stalkyboi, or Tru), you try to reduce 4v1 to a 3v1 as quickly as possible so you have a chance at keeping up. That is just the game now. We adapt. If we didn't have to play that way, we wouldn't.

For better or for worst, this is a PVP game, full contact (virtually anyway) that pits a supercharged Serial Killer against for victims that seek to be Survivors instead. Right now SWF as well as certain balance issue, hacks, and lag exploits are screwing up the water works but good. I have faith they will all get addressed in time, but there is no reason to blame Killers for using the legal, valid tools at their disposal. Likewise, I don't complain about Survivor Perks either. Why would I? That would make me a hypocrite.

The rules we should all abide by (in my opinion) are:

    1. Don't cheat, either by hacks or lag spikes.
    2. Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
    3. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat, i.e. no Salt.

My polite suggestions for etiquette are:

    1. If you are Killer and notice you are NOT fighting a SWF (and I admit it is hard to know sometimes) don't treat them like one.
    2. If you are Survivors who beat the tar out of a Killer, don't treat them in a way during game or after that will make them coldblooded.
    3. Remember that this is game, and what happens in a match stays in THAT match.

Uh huh. Look up the official dbd stats on swf groups. 3 or 4 man swf survivors make up 15% of all matches, and the rest, 85% goes to 2 man SWF and solo players.

SWF has a bigger winrate, but there is only a 10% survival rate difference between solos and 4 man groups. There goes your "massive" advantage. Some people in SWFs don't even use comms at all.

And yes, there are competitive 4 man swat teams with OoO that are ultra sweaty and they do use everything to their advantage, but that probably makes up for less than 0.5% of matches. Or even less. Most people just want a casual game with their friend(s), without the need to worry that a random claudette hiding in a bush will let you die on first hook.

And lastly, of course SWF is going to play in regular queues. You can't gain any bloodpoints in custom matches, not even mentioning most people won't find 5 people to play at once. 4 man swf makes up 5% of the matches, mind you.

"SWF" is just an excuse for playing in a scummy way. Stats show it best.

Uh huh is right, as I'm taking it literally and not sarcastically as you intended. I hit Rank-4 after a hard fight from 20 playing nothing but Myers. From Green Ranks on I fought nothing but Purple and Red (mostly Red) Rank Survivors and MOST of my games are against SWF that are playing hard to win, and there is very little fun in it. Perhaps your stats apply to games for the lower Ranks, but not from where I'm sitting. :)

I see 3-Person SWF and a poor Red Shirt stuck in with them most often, followed by 4-Person SWF next, and 2-Person and Solo very rarely. I also get more Salt and obnoxious behavior from SWF, up to and including hacks. I record every game and I'm planning on a compilation upload in the near future of these "casual, fun-seeking SWF types."

  • @MrLimonka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1637766#Comment_1637766

So you're basically saying you resort to scummy tactics because you can't play properly against people who just want to play. a multiplayer game mind you, with their friends? Very, very sad.

You probably win 80%+ of your matches. A balanced winrate would be 50/50%. You sound like you just want to 4k every match without any effort. You also sound like the "facecamp a default meg at 5 gens" type of gamer. Play animal crossing if you want to have a casual gaming experience.

No, I'm saying that SWF utilize a Perk entirely outside the game, i.e. Comms. I utilize whatever tools I can to play the game against them. Camping, Tunneling, Slugging, and the Mori are NOT "scummy" tactics. They are just tools Killers use when appropriate. Against a SWF, they are necessary. And no, the 50/50 win rate is what the DEV shoot for as an OVERALL statistic to understand the game is balanced. They do not expect every game for every player to go 50/50.

I've never calculated my Kill rate. I know against a SWF if I don't fight hard and bring everything I have to the table I will probably get zero kills or perhaps one. That is how effective the 5th Perk, Comms is when applied by a SWF. Don't give me that "we just want a fun, casual game with friends" nonsense. You already can do that. It is called a custom game. If that is all SWF Players want they could do that 24/7 with NO WAITING. :) What they want is an unfair advantage against other people. Do you see my point?

All that aside, I play the game with the following rules:

    1. Don''t cheat, i.e. no hacks or lag spikes.
    2. .Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
    3. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

In the game, I'm going to use whatever strategy or tactic works for that particular match. I make no bones about it.

  • Hrm. I might just have to step away from the game for awhile. I don't really have time for this nonsense. So I'm one less Killer for the Ques. I'll check back in a few months and see if they have it fixed. If not, I'm not a hypocrite. I say if someone isn't happy with a game, they should move on. I'm starting to feel it might be time for me to put on my travelling shoes.

  • @angardia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1637711#Comment_1637711

but what will be different between the Ques? ofc killer will mark that he doesnt wanna play against SWF and keep camping solo survs match after match

Killers tend to tunnel, camp, and Mori more against a SWF because the HAVE to level the playing field because of the 5th Perk Comms. I know, from personal experience, that against just Solos most Killers don't do that. We would rather play a less sweaty and more lucrative (BP-wise) game. We adapt to fight the SWF. We wouldn't do that if we didn't have to, and thus having the different Ques would take some of the pressure off the Solo Survivors.

  • I think this Perk needs an entire rework. When there were only 4-5 Killers in the game, it wasn't so bad. The chances of pulling Trapper were ok. I see that guy once in a Blue Moon. It really doesn't feel like a full value Perk. I'm not sure what I would suggest, but I know it needs to be entirely different that it is now. It needs to be much more effective in general when not against the Trapper.

  • @angardia said:

i understand that camping is the best situation for SWF

but im getting tired to play as solo surv... 5 matches in a row today out of 5 i played! same yesterday and the day before and before and before and before.... it wasnt so bad before july, but now its impossible!

KILLERS CAMP CAMP CAMP at the start of a game!!!

    and NO!

no - he isnt 20m from the hook

    no - no one teabag

no - no one "gen rush"

no - its not the games end

NO! no other reason! killers stand at the freaking hook with kindred or without it - the moment your on the hook, your done.

on my question "why you camp?" - mostly answer the same things:

    1. its a tactic
    2. ez 4 kill - i camp u die i win
    3. why not?

amazing! and people keep telling me:

    1. red ranks dont camp - they DO!
    2. camping give you no points - you get more then enough!
    3. camping is boring, no one camp - i agree! its BORING! but still happen A LOT!

so few days ago i had some free time to play and i decided to see for myself -

i took hag and wraith (also spirit) and decided to do some tome challenges and test camping and here are my conclusions:

    1. by camping style i didnt lose a pip on rankings and mostly ended even gaining one
    2. i got over 20k points
    3. most surv run without BT so it was just so easy to drop them
    4. it was EASY vs solo - cause they go for a save (even when the hooked surv have kindred)
    5. it was harder vs partial SWF - at least 2 surv will die before all gens are completed and can be more with NOED
    6. it was VERY hard against good SWF

i understand that some might say It's the survivors' fault, they should have finished the gens instead of unhooking the camped surv and some might think its an amazing strategy...

BUT this strategy ruining the game! and there should be some sort of penalty that actually discourage such behavior!

i can suggest 0 BP if the killer spend X amount of time near the hooked survivor - the amount of time wont reset

    anyone have other ideas?

Advocate for SWF and Solo to be two different Ques. Until then, they are going to continue to make things rough on everyone.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1637684#Comment_1637684

    No, this is deliberate.

It's not just a bunch of buddies queueing up. It's a bunch of high rankers (often someone with a stream) abusing the current system (survivors have matchmaking protections, killers don't) to destroy lower ranked killers.

I made a thread about a similar issue a week or so ago and the devs admitted that they removed killer matchmaking protections completely.

Why do you think this is okay, exactly?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1637680#Comment_1637680

There were systems in place to stop this for a while. The matchmaker would try to ensure that an SWF faced a killer of a similar rank to the highest ranked person in the premade. Not the lowest (which seems to be the case for solo survivors).

They quietly removed this system, and as people twig onto this, you are going to see more and more smurfcomps.

I've already seen a LOT of this to be honest. I just didn't realize there was an intent to play the system. The sooner SWF and Solo Que are split into different Ques, the better. I think it is unavoidable eventually as the problem just gets bigger every day.

  • So that is why I keep seeing this? I wondered; I knew it HAD to be a SWF due to the mix of Ranks, but it didn't occur to me that they do it on purpose to screw with matchmaking.

  • I think they are losing Killers due to the increasing issue of SWF. Until that is addressed there will be fewer and fewer Killers and the matchmaking will get worse. Right now (as a Killer) I get matches instantly. Yes, I get all sorts of people way out of my league and have for a long time.

  • Agreed. If I were to revisit it... I would change it to 3/4/5.....

  • @PingBallMaster said:

I was playing as blight and went against a no mither, it was impossible to slug/win the game. I am asking the devs to either nerf or ban no mither due to it being unfair towards killers who want to have fun. I was just sitting down playing some blight when this david had no mither which he must of been hacking due to that perk being level 3. I am really sick and tired of facing overpowered no mithers and hackers. Please fix this devs, thank you.

This must be some sort of weird joke, right? If you have a problem with No Mither, why don't you just hook him. :) It is a TERRIBLE Perk. I want to start the game one step closer to death on the HOPE that the Killer won't bother to Hook me.

  • The Blight is an excellent Killer. He just has a very steep learning curve. Like the Nurse, once you get it down, he is VERY hard to counter. That being said, most people don't have the patience to learn to use him (me included). I just wanted his Perks. :)

  • @1nsignia said:

Ok but I'm normally not the kind of person to do this kind of stuff but it's got to me.

I've been experiencing multiple frame drops, stutters and rubber banding on killer since the release of blight. After the hot fix, nothing happened. I have tried to be calm and look for help. One of your mods helped me fix this issue, or at least I thought. After I got helped I was no longer getting rubber banding and stuttering, but the fps drops still persists. Sure I have a crappy pc. But at least it ran the game damn find until blight. Don't get me wrong I love this game but sometimes I find things blatant.

I've met multiple of other players in game with the same issue and only a few here on the forums. I find it so stressing when I see a squad of baby survs defeat me all because of frame drops. Each time not even a kill sometimes not even a hook! Not that rank matters, but from 1 to 8 is pretty big! I just hate the feeling of facing more inexperienced survivors who stomp me because of crappy fps drops, sure that sometimes even with the low fps drops I might make the wrong choices. But if only I could count how many times I could of won from a actual game without fps drops getting in my way.

At this point I don't even want to play killer as it ruins fun. What the heck, even a kill or two will please me! Sure survivor works but I do t want to play it all the time. Not to mention how it stacks onto of the games ring hating me giving me the worst maps for every killer i choose. But that's a different topic. And no i will not go toxic and get up to the higher ranks, using Morris and crap. All because I'm having a bad experience doesn't mean others have to have the same fate.

Please it draining my fun. Can you please BHVR announce a fix or at least announce what systems are not compatible because that's all I want to know. Why and what's going to happen?!. Do I need a new pc or is it on your end.

Please no arguments aswell I'm not in the mood, I won't be able to respond straight away im taking a break from technology all together.

Also if any of you are experiencing this please do say, this let me no if it's actually common or not, or my fault. if you have a fix please tell me.

Thank you for using your time to read this.

I've been experiencing this too but not consistently. To me it seems more likely to be cheaters using lag to alter the game. I just had one where the ENTIRE match was stuttering me.

  • @megswifey said:

So last night, I was in a match and had no clue I was being streamed. I played normally and I thought I actually did pretty well, but after I died I saw they were a ttv killer and I usually check them for feedback. I go and see that this person is making fun of me while being chased and such, and I actually feel really bad about it. I don't know, I get that it's all in good fun, but sometimes seeing people commenting on how bad you are really gets in the way of how you play. Has anyone else had this happen? And is there any advice for a relatively new survivor (5-6 months)?

I leave a Lobby when I get a Streamer join. Why? They get paid for it, but I don't. I didn't agree to become part of their show. I suppose if I saw Otz or Monto or someone like that I might stay because I watch the shows and I'm a fan. But in general, I'm not going to track down every damn Streamer to see if I show up on their show. I'm not that vain, nor that interested.

The ethical matter is they are getting paid and I am not. It seems off somehow.

  • I would do the following:

    1. Solo Que would allow no more than (2) People to join a Lobby as friends and all identifying information would be held till the end of the match. This would prevent on the fly Comms being setup and return Solo to how it was intended
    2. People entering as a 3-Person or 4-Person Team would go in the SWF (or Team) Que. This Que would require one extra Generator to power the gates, so a 3-Person Team will need (5) and a 4-Person Team would need (6).
    3. Killers choosing to play against the SWF (Team) Que would have a 5th Perk Unlocked.

*I think these changes would have several effects. The Solo Que would no longer be punished by attempts to try and balance the SWF. Killers playing against the Solo wouldn't feel the pressure (we don't actually like it) to bring the Mori or Tunnel just to try and reduce the 4v1 to 3v1 immediately to have a chance. Everyone in the Solo Que (Killer and Survivor alike) will have more freedom to play without it always being as sweaty and dirty as possible. The Group/Team Que won't have a problem getting Killers either because with the playing field leveled, I think plenty of Killers would jump at the chance of taking them on. If the balancing options I suggest turn out to be too strong or too weak, the DEV can easily adjust them, and again it will not impact anyone outside the Group/Team matches.

This would also open up a whole new line of LUCRATIVE cosmetic options for the game to sell. Think of the matching League Jackets or other identifiers that could sold. Teams could have names that might even appear on said jackets, hats, or whatever. I know my friends and I would all love some leather jackets that have our personal name on them. The point being this done right not only solves some of the balance problems, it might actually quicken both Ques and make the company some extra money.

Look, I know this is my own personal cause. I play both Killer and Survivor. As a Survivor (with friends who frequently play with me) I'm aware of the advantage it provides. This issue is only going to get more complicated, and in the end they will have to be broken up. I think Dead by Daylight might as well embrace it, and earn some extra money from it.

I don't really expect anything. Just calling it as it is, my man ;) you use whatever tactic you can to tip the scales in your favour. You're free to be as insecure as you will. Same as a survivor who brings a key and then stealths around the map waiting for their teammates to die, so they can get hatch. Super boring and pointless playstyle, but it does award you the win at the end.

Personally, I enjoy the game, so I actually play it

Whatever. This grief and shaming schtick is old, and kind of pathetic. I'm totally secure. I say what things I will do, and why. I don't give anyone garbage about how they play. You can take your Survivor's Guide for Killers and ... well... use your imagination.

  • I've actually had this happen multiple times against me, and it was ALWAYS when I was fighting a SWF. They would be losing the match, and one would take themselves out so the other could get the Hatch (sometimes while I was closing in even). It is just one more abuse of the SWF.

Yeah, losers. I see them more and more. I think the penalties need to be back or they need to be split into ANOTHER Que populated by people who... you guessed it... have a strong tendency to disconnect. They deserve each other.

  • @Slickstyles said:

Unfortunately for Myers, he is a killer that needs to set up so having Corrupt Intervention is a requirement in red ranks. Otherwise, you'll just get genrushed. He's also an instadown snowball killer so it's wise to use Infectious.

I like using BBQ for the extra bloodpoints and M&A for the smaller terror radius so I can sneak up on survivors and get easy stalk. M&A also increases the range of Infectious Fright which is pretty neat as well. You can go for a more aggressive build with Brutal Strength/Bamboozle instead of M&A which I like to do sometimes.

My favorite addons are the Hair Bow and J Myers Memorial or the Dead Rabbit with Memorial Flower. You can also do fast stalk with J Myers Memorial and Judith's Journal/Memorial Flower.

That being said, Myers is still a C tier killer. He really has no antiloop and on bigger maps he will suffer if he can't snowball. Maps like Ormond and Haddonfield won't even allow you to get to tier 3 until 2 gens pop, unless you go against potatoes or run fast stalk Myers. Due to the nature of his power, he typically doesn't get many emblems or bloodpoints which kind of sucks.

I got to the Red Ranks without Corrupt Intervention. :) Don't get me wrong; that is a useful Perk. I just don't use it. Haddonfield can be fought on as Spooky Myers, but is just frustrating with any other build I've tried so far. I've also gotten a 4K on the Ormond with Spooky Myers (only once so far, but that is promising since it was against Purple Ranks).

  • @Corikstarr said:

As a killer main, sorry you're getting tunneled and camped. They're not even effective strategies, it's just a way for a salty killer to feel good about that one kill they wasted time for.

On the flip side, I wish people would stop calling me a camper in endgame just because they trip my traps when I'm playing The Hag. Or because I followed their teammate 1/4th of the way across the map to a hook. It's both a real problem for bad killers to do and a scapegoat for salty survivors. It's like they believe unhooking is a sacred act that I should never interrupt.

Um, no. They are effective strategies in the right situation. This myth you just parroted is 100% incorrect. Camping, tunneling, slugging, and the Mori are all tactics, and sometimes they are the RIGHT tactic. Used incorrectly, they will result in a net loss. Used correctly they can turn a game into a solid 4K with perfect emblems. The hard part is learning when to use them, and when not to use them.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Because it is super fun to die with less than 5k bloodpoints due to Tombstone add-ons, without even being wounded, downed, or hooked.

Nothing about Myers has been confirmed, so I wouldn't stress about it. Even if they do change him, I wouldn't expect they would alter that particular thing about him. Myers being able to Mori under special circumstances is the big UNIQUE thing about him.

  • The Tournament didn't cause any issues, it merely highlighted how the game must be played effectively against a SWF. This has been a growing issue for some time. A lot of people watched it, realized they have been dealing with SWF on a regular basis here in NORMAL games, and said, "well here is finally an option I can see works." You can't blame them for that.

The sooner Solo Que and Group/Team Que are separate, so the DEV can level the playing field against a SWF without punishing the Solos disproportionately, the better. Killers will be glad to take on either (no Lobby dodging) and will be happy to fight without a very limited, ruthless strategy. Right now people are adopting the only thing that works effectively. You cannot blame them for that.

  • Myers, and the Killer I play almost exclusively in fact.

  • Camping, tunneling, slugging, and the Mori are all legal, valid strategies for Killers. They are, in fact, the only other strategies possible to employ besides looping with you and mind games. If you had your way, you would reduce all Killer Players to Bots. You would swiftly lose them as Players too, and your Ques would get very long indeed. The only people that would remain are the Otz and Monto of the world and you would STILL be complaining and asking for more nerfs.

Killers do you a valuable service. They provide you with an Antagonist so you have a game. Variety in style and options are what keep the game interesting. Without them, this is just PacMan with scary Skins. You will never dissuade Killers from improvising and doing things which make commonsense. If you truly want them to camp and tunnel less, you will have to make it worth their while by giving them rewards for leaving the hook. This would be their version of Bold behavior, like Survivors spending a lot of time inside the Terror Radius.

I play both Killer and Survivor, and listening to all this nonsense is annoying. Survivors are part of a team, and it isn't expected that all the turtles are going to make it from the shore to the sea. If that bothers you, play Killer or find another game. Quit scapegoating Killer players for your choices. They are just playing the game. Likewise, I tell Killers who complain about Survivor Perks to shut the hell up. Survivors are just playing the game. This only works with both sides playing hard and not whining and whinging about every loss. Seriously.

  • I get quite a few who seem upset when they see I've been running Undying, Thrill of the Hunt, and Ruin together. :)

Switch to killer to be nice to survivors after facing some scummy brats as killers, just to give survivors who likely endured similar a breather? if only for one match?

No. What happens in one match stays in that match. The only time I give Survivors a break is:

    1. Some losers disconnected super early and left them to rot.
    2. Some loser cheats tried to help me (the Killer). I make that loser pay.
    3. I realize Matchmaking has me in with people not ready for me, so I slow down to their level.

To me each match is unique and gets evaluated on its own merits. This is for being nice or bringing the hardest game I can. It would be odd indeed to be part of a game where I got a raw deal, to then assume the Survivors I pull as a Killer are somehow deserving of miracles based on that alone.

  • The Entity reminds me of the "Other Mother" from Coraline. She is an entity, a sort of emotional vampire that lures people in and feeds on them. The Entity has created a perpetual, emotional roller coaster for the Killers and Survivors she has brought inside.

Solo queue is actual hell. I feel your pain. Play with any friends you have when ever you can.

Agreed. I play Survivor and Killer. Until they separate Solo from Group/Team this is going to be an issue. :( I'm pragmatic about it. I don't begrudge Killers for having to play every game as if they face a SWF (because often they do), and I completely understand the Solo frustration (I share it). The sooner Solo and Group are in their own Ques the DEV can do things for the Group Que that levels the playing field without gutting the Solo.

*And as a Killer, if I KNOW I'm playing Solos I do not Mori off the first hook. I don't treat a Solo game like a SWF game. The problem is we never KNOW what we face because they won't tell us. :)

What is there to salvage? If you lose, you got outplayed and that's that. Get over it. All you achieve when you mori off 1st hook is earn less bloodpoints for yourself and everyone else in the game in order to stroke your ego

Actually, no. We can still win by taking a 4v1 to a 3v1 early. We can still earn good Emblems and still earn lots of points. :) We just won't earn AS many. We use whatever legal, valid strategies work in a given match. What else would you expect?

so what build did you use this with spooky or maniac and what are they

Spooky Myers is my preferred name for Jump Scare Myers. He is built with:

    Scratch Mirror + Boyfriend's Memo.

Current Common Perks: Hex: Undying, Hex: Ruin, Hex; Thrill of the Hunt, and Sloppy Butcher

Previous Common Perk Build: Hex: Ruin, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Play With Your Food, and Sloppy Butcher *Still use this sometimes.

*You will most likely be putting in a map offering with him, as his optimal Maps are the Meat Plant, Hawkins, Midwich, Lerys, Swamps, and in that order. He CAN be played on the larger maps. I have gotten 3-4K on Cold Wind farms (all but Rotten Fields), about half of the McMillian maps, etc. My goal is to get good enough to play this Build anywhere. It is actually very effective against SWF who are very surprised to run into it in the Purple and Red Ranks. It shuts down a LOT of their abusing of OoO and other info Perks which effectively EVERYONE gets.

Maniac Myers is my preferred name for any Myers Build that can get to Tier-3

Because I ONLY play Myers and spend pretty much all of my points in his Blood Web, I end up with a LOT more Rare and Ultra Rare than someone who spreads those points around. If you combine this with the Hand Offering which protects you from losing your selection, it means you can choose to use the Fragrant Tuft of Hair, Tombstone Piece, etc. far more often. That means I play a LOT of Infinite Tier-3 Myers. My most common builds are:

Fragrant Tuft of Hair + Any Add On that Speeds up Gaining Evil While Stalking (and Hand Offering to protect Tuft)

    Or

Tombstone Piece + Any Add On that Speeds up Gaining Evil While Stalking (Offering Really is Optional as I have tons of these)

    Or

Hair Bow + Any Add On that Speeds up Gaining Evil While Stalking (offering whatever floats your boat)

Current Common Perks: Hex: Undying, Hex: Ruin, Hex; Thrill of the Hunt, and Bitter Murmur (or Barbecue & Chili)

Previous Common Perk Build: Hex: Ruin, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Bitter Murmur, Barbecue & Chili

*The key to Maniac Myers is to use Thrill of the Hunt to still home in on Survivors faster (they usually touch a Totem within 15 seconds and if not certainly in the first minute). Juice up to Tier-2 and drive them off the Totem. Don't get the bad habit of just stalking till you hit Tier-3. Do your best to hit and down them as Tier-2 and Stalk only when efficient. When you are going for Infinite Tier-3 a bad habit I have is to just Stalk and Stalk and not really start hunting till I hit it. This puts you too far behind. Don't do it. If you are Infinite just keep the chase up constantly and pressure them off the Gens and your insta-down WILL wear them down slow but sure. Love the basement if accessible. If not Infinite, maximize that Tier-3, and then repeat.

  • @ToxicMyers I didn't have Hex: Undying either until I did a grind recently and grabbed it. :) I made it all the way to Rank-4 using the following:

    Hex: Ruin

    Hex: Thrill of the Hunt

    Play With Your Food

    Bitter Murmur

*I found it better than Barbecue and Chili because Myers is a slow burn and chances are I would see more Gens go up than early game hooks. If I was playing Spooky Myers I would switch out Bitter Murmur for Sloppy Butcher. I didn't need any help finding the Survivors thanks to the wall hack innate.

The key to this build is Thrill of the Hunt which is underrated on Myers. Usually in the first 15 seconds or less I get an explosion telling me where at least some of the Survivors are when someone touches a Totem. That cuts down the search time problem you are having. If you make a beeline for that location you can often grab them off the Totem or drive them off of it... or if it is a dull one you don't care about Stalk up to Level-2 and then grab or strike. The Thrill of the Hunt is a small protection for your Ruin, but more importantly it becomes another way to find Survivors, particularly on larger maps. Again, I want to stress I only just got Undying, so these builds were able to carry me as long as I leaned into them and played them optimally.

I'm not going to lie, there is a very narrow margin for error with Myers, but if the game were easy, it wouldn't be any fun.

What bothers me the most is that this strange activity is from both sides. I know it seems like I'm just talking about simple toxicity, but it just feels like it's more than that. I hope some way this will die down, in the future...

Well one thing that would help is for Killers to KNOW 100% if/when they are facing a SWF. I know I don't go for the Tunnel/Mori when I'm facing a Solo group. I don't have to, and would rather not. They WON'T tell us, because they are afraid we will dodge Lobbies. The result is people STILL dodge lobbies doing their best to guess, AND assume every game is a SWF till proven otherwise. Do you see my point? :) Better to just tell us any 3+ group up front so we know when NOT to bring the sledgehammer.

But I don't understand. Everything was fine until the day before yesterday. I was having a blast on both teams. Actually, I've been having fun endlessly before the release of Level 4 of the current tome. But now, my fun is slowly dying down because... because everyone is becoming an ass?

With all due respect, no... it wasn't. You can look at my own posts going back over a month talking about the rise of the Mori and Tunneling. You may not have noticed it, but it was going on. You can see it in videos on Youtube and discussions of how to deal with SWF. The chatter and implementation of it isn't something Killers wanted but rather have been adopting out of necessity. A LOT of us (Killers) have been talking about it for a LONG time, specifically in context that we don't love it but what else can we do.

You know what? You're actually right. Yesterday I've started to notice something wrong, not only on the Survivor side, but on the Killer side as well. It's as if literally the entire playerbase of this damn game has changed their playstyle from regular to uber toxic. Is this the influence of that Hexy's Tournament everyone keeps mentioning? I seriously know nothing about it, but I've been noticing an increasing amount in camping, tunneling, slugging, t-bagging, flashlight clicking, gen-rushing and even DCing, from both sides. I started seeing these signs around yesterday or before, while I was trying to do my Daily Rituals and the Killer challenges in the Level 4 of Tome: Conviction.

I know those things have existed in the game before, but not on the level it currently is. As Killer, I was Rank 3 and had at least FIVE "Entity Displeased" results in a row as I was trying to do my SIMPLE challenges. I can assure you that it can't be because of my skill level, since even I can play moderately well, above average, I would say. I know how to mindgame, I know how to play Killer in general, so what the hell is going on?

As Survivor, teammates keep DCing and the Killer camps, tunnels and slugs. Oh, there's also not a single Killer without NOED. So, what's going on??? Again, these things existed before this tournament, but NOT on the same level as currently.

    0_o Y'all good??

See my previous post. The META is shifting around SWF because the numbers of them (and their efficacy) has reached the critical point. I play Survivor and Killer, and have been noticing the shift in direct correlation. It isn't the Tournament that caused this; that merely showcased the issue to a lot more people. It has been going on slow and steady for sometime. We are just now reaching the point where EVERYONE sees it.

  • I run, whether I play Spooky or Maniac Myers...

    Hex: Undying

    Hex: Ruin

    Hex: Thrill of the Hunt\

    Play With Your Food

*This is the most common Build I run, and while I play with others, I always find myself coming back to this one. If I am putting in a Map offering to make sure it is a small, indoor Map and I am doing Spooky I will swap out PWYF for Sloppy Butcher. If I am playing Maniac Myers I swap out PWYF for Barbecue & Chili. I've gotten consistent results and made it to Rank-4 (Red) right before the reset, and I was ONLY Playing Myers as my Killer. I am hoping to hit Rank-1 before the next Reset.

Before the Hexy's Tournament and Rank Reset, I would get out of every match as a solo in red ranks. After the tournament and rank reset every teammate needs to get beat over the head with a shoe before understanding. Not including a few.

Killer before hand were genuinely good sports, I would give tips on how to fix the perk builds from what I've seen from people who main said killer. The minority tunneled and camped. Now, everyone tunnels/camps, runs garbage perk builds that are fixed with OP add-ons, most are toxic. And the majority tunnels/camps and now including, slugging. For no other reason than 'they can'.

The problem is 100% created by the ever-increasing power and population of the SWF. Tunneling and the Mori have always been around. Killers could always use them. They didn't, on average, because there wasn't a need. Now there is a need, created by a changing META. Killers have attempted all sorts of ways to deal with the increasing commonality and potency of the SWF, but none of them are as effective as removing a person from the carefully coordinated COMMS.

Removing 1 person from a SWF slows down the Gen-Rush, reduces the amount of information they share by 25%, and gives all the others pause (puts the fear of the Mori in them) and makes it easier to run them off Generators. Do you see where I'm going with this? Killers aren't shifting strategy because they love the Mori (we earn fewer points overall) but because to salvage our games at all we have to reduce that advantage. Balance that advantage and level the playing field, say by putting Group/Team in their OWN Que where extra requirements can be added to them (say extra Generator and giving the Killer a 5th Perk) and the problem would take care of itself.

Again, Killers (and I so play one) would rather go for more Hooks, have more time to play the game as it used to be played, and earn more points and Emblems overall. But until we have ANOTHER option that actually works against the SWF issue (without all of us somehow turning into Otz, Monto, etc.) we do what we gotta do.

Can I just say, you have the profile picture of Michael Myers, who I think has an add-on that lets him stab people on pick up.

    You wanna talk about that?

Myers has the Tombstone Piece and the Tombstone itself. They allow a special kind of Mori where we don't even have to pick you up. We can Mori you on the run if we are in Tier-3. :) Of course both come with significant downsides, so they more or less balance out.

This, this is why survivors end up running the crutches perks and play scummy towards the killer. This can’t be compared to keys (unpopular opinion btw). Yes, they are both very strong but the killer can just do this and get you out of the game. For a key to come in play, the survivors have to do their objective, gens. The amount of Moris I have been seeing recently is truly disgusting (not sure why). Maybe, this is one the reasons why players don’t play this game for very long, this is not fun.

Moris really don’t deserve a rework, they deserve to be removed from the game. The same thing can be said about keys. Both are really unhealthy for the game as both make the game end faster than intended and are probably the most unbalanced thing in the game at the moment. If you really want these things to stay in the game, you are probably not a good player yourself.

    https://youtu.be/-iO6oaJ9UtY

(Don’t bully me for running 2 exhaustion perks, I have nothing on Cheryl :))

You are seeing an increase in the Mori because of the increase in SWF. Until that is balanced, most Killers are desperate to turn a 4v1 to a 3v1 as quickly as possible. The sooner there are two ques, one for Solo and one for Group/Team, the better. The Mori has been around for a LONG time, and for the most part it wasn't used that heavily. It is seeing an uptick because Killers must adapt to the changing META. I know this is a tough pill to swallow, but the Killers don't know who is in SWF and who isn't. The games can be over before they are even begun, so the increase in the tunneling and the Mori are a direct result of Killers doing what they have to do.

That's totally biased and not the one and only reason. Killers dodge SWF by cherrypicking lobbies until they know they have mainly a solo queue lobby so they can noob stomp them, at least on PC. Worst part is tho, they even tunnel and camp the solos because I experience that for the most part when I solo qeue. The majority of SWF are not the sweaty ones but only players that wanna play together. But always blaming SWF for ALL the problems is just the easiest way, isn't it. The usual obsessed and disctracted killer main brain.

Wrong answer. I don't dodge SWF unless I'm exhausted. If I recognize them I Mori one immediately. Since I play Mikey that is easier for me than for some. I want people to be able to play with their friends. I just think they belong in their own que, so Solo doesn't keep paying the price for us doing what we gotta do to level the playing field. I believe there should be two Ques.

Solo Que: Up to two people can join these Lobbies together, so limited Friends. No Identity information should be shown until after the match ends to prevent setting up Comms on the fly.

Group/Team Que: Groups of 3 or 4 may join these Lobbies. Groups must turn on one additional Generator to open the gates, i.e. a 3-Person SWF must activate five Generators, and a 4-Person SWF must turn on six. The Killer also gets a 5th Perk unlocked. Killers will be happy to fight these challenges on a level playing field.

*This method allows the DEV to balance for the Group/Team Que without punishing the Solos in the process. The suggestions I make for balance can be increased or decreased as necessary.

  • I know, but the Killers don't know who is in a SWF and who isn't. That is why I think Solo Que and Group/Team Que should be separated.
