You can see blood cross map with this glowstick juice and it lasting longer is neat. It is especially good on maps like midwich, hawkins since there is a lot of ambient blood with nothing to do with survivors there and on swamp since blood blends so well on it.
Awesome thread; thank you for starting the discussion of the Perk. I'd love to see a lot more of these kinds of things. Truth be told, I don't think I've ever used Bloodhound, not even once, in all the hours I've played. Clearly I've been missing out. I'm going to slot it in today to see what kind of results I get.

While I have no talent for art, I have really enjoyed the discussions of it by people who do. I think it is a case of envy, the grass is always greener on your neighbor's lawn. I'm a writer, so the extent of my ability is to rearrange words in an order that sometimes can invoke an image in the mind. I always wanted to be able to paint or play an instrument which is the real thing rather than a verbal echo of it.

I find people don't respond much to how your last game went or whatever, because it doesn't relate much to them. So people tend to stick to what they don't like about the game, or what they're excited about is coming next. Because that's something more people can relate to.
Also DBD players tend to have a habit of needing to vent about their bad games more than talk about their good ones because the bad ones are more memorable. Some games also aren't too memorable or don't have moments that really stand out.
This seems a reasonable observation, but I also hope it is a trend that can be bucked. I think the negative feedback cycle is bad for the game overall without some input of normal hobby input. Therein lies the problem, more or less content people don't feel the need to chime in, whereas disgruntled types can't seem to hold back. It creates a funhouse mirror version of game, an unhealthy situation to say the least.
-
What I find interesting (and somewhat hopeful) is that there hasn't been an explosion of responses. That tells me I was wrong, and more people do have a sense of shame. For what it is worth, I reviewed the posts of DecisiveDwight, HaunterofShadows, and Dabihwow and found them to have LOTS of what I would consider normal, sane posts which actually discuss the hobby in the way a genuine enthusiast would. There were interesting posts about Lore, other subjects, insightful comments on playstyle and even some technique. I'm sorry to say DapperTrapper but your posts did not include much other than complaints.
I don't expect everyone to agree with me (it would be weird if they did) but I do expect people who share a hobby to have some way to connect that is more than rants, bile, and/or propaganda of one sort or another. I merely submit that we should be seeing a lot more discussions about playing the game, rather than just complaining about it.

Its not that this mechanics are too strong. Its just no fun and boring imo. (Camping)
I dont care for slugging and i just hate tunneling bc i get potatoes who cant loop. But its my choice to play solo.
Then might I suggest you seek your bliss and find another game? Lots of us are having fun, which is why we stay. If you don't think the mechanics are a problem, but just unfun to you... that means YOU are the problem. It is solved in only one way, removing you from the equation. I'm not being mean here, but stating a pragmatic, unavoidable fact.
-
There is nothing the DEV need to fix, no Deus Ex Machina required. All the tools Survivors need to counter Camping, Tunneling, and Slugging are already in the game (and there are a lot of them). The DEV have given you the silverware, the plate full of food, and even instructions on how to use said silverware. Dig in. If you need more help, there are countless videos on Youtube made by extremely good Players on all the BASICS you need to excel at this game. There are lots of Players here that will help you if you honestly ask. So let me repeat, if something ain't broke, nobody is going to fix it. The issue isn't the game. If you want to know the source of most of your problems, look in the mirror. Own those problems.

I don't have a problem with Survivors who die on the Hook, i.e. go the ENTIRE time without speeding up the process, getting points for it. They would have created the same distraction in a chase and helped their team. Thus, I think if (and only if) a Survivor spends the entire time on the hook (no attempts to get off it early in stage one and no failed skill checks in stage two) they should get credit for the same amount of chase time.

I'm not your "bro" which begs the question of why do so many of you types that think alike also use the same syntax. I've seen "bro" and "bruh" most often, and a bunch of other Fraternity variations of the same. In any event, I'm here because I enjoy playing Dead by Daylight. If I wasn't enjoying the game, I'd already be gone. It is kind of weird, defective even to keep hanging around playing a game that you clearly think is bad. So...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxFgZdhF9dQ
But returning to my original point, Dead by Daylight is a highly successful game and has been since 2016. The evidence is clear that the DEV must be doing something right. On the one hand we have a team of people who maintain and innovate on a successful video game, and on the other we have you a nameless, faceless hack on the internet with poor syntax. Gosh I mean I just don't know who to trust. :)

Put a timer on it or something. The face that these killers can chain kill because they can see where everyone is and most killers can scale across any map in a matter of seconds is ridiculous. Such a crutch. You shrunk the maps and took away loops but these killers can see where most survivors are almost anytime. Dumb.
BBQ & CHILI is the Survivor's best friend, the one Perk that reduces Camping and provides the opportunity to make safe rescues. What is more, it is easily countered if you don't want to be seen. You can also only be seen if you are over a certain distance away, so you can be gone before the Killer gets there. In short, don't be ridiculous.

Yah I never even bother with their polls, generally if I'm loading up the game to play I just click the button over and over till it loads. So what is the number 1 thing players would like fixed according to their in game polls?
You should do their Surveys as those are the ones to which they pay the most attention. Players want optimization fixed across the platforms. They actually would prefer a skipping a new content chapter to work on bugs. Quite a number of them want a change to the basic regression speed. A significant number (and I'll never understand why) are interested in cosmetics.

I'm curious about that so I made 2 polls one for Killers one for survivors to see what bugs who
I'm not talking about Player Polls on the Forum. :) The Forum isn't really the community. The majority of the actual community never come here, post on social media about the game, etc. I'm talking about the surveys that bEhavior gives us periodically. There have been some that talk about all sorts of issues, including the ones discussed here. Over the years it has come up countless time and in countless ways. The actual statistics and responses to the surveys they give (and care about) tell them all they need to know. And as I said, the results would probably surprise you.
People who spend there time here get a Fun House Mirror version of the community and the game. It is one of the reasons I'm such a stickler sometimes. I don't like the confirmation bias, the glittering generalities, and the fact that more people who are upset post (and post a lot) as compared to the LARGER number of people who are content, and thus have no reason to post. It is a basic fact of statistics that certain kinds of feedback and polls are tainted at the source because of their nature. Happy people don't say much. Angry people make noise far in excess of their size.

Ok mister genius you tell me how to beat those strats without using stealth and still being able to pip up because your emblems will get ######### over even if you are not the one getting camped because the killer refuses to interact with you and you can’t heal or unhook the guy getting face camped.
Teamwork, looping, Borrowed Time, Styptic Agent, Camaraderie, We're Going To Make It, Spine Chill (not for Stealth but for knowing when to leave a Gen early), Dead Hard, and just plain old mind games. The fact is the BASICS carry a Player past most obstacles. I've played fourteen games tonight as Survivor, mostly because I was going for the Gnome. I died in two. Of those fourteen games, only two Killers camped; I died in neither of those matches because my Teammates STILL got me off the hook.
There is no magic bullet. You log in the hours, many thousands of hours and you get good enough that all the things that bother you now seem unimportant later. BASICS. You practice Looping. You practice Safe Rescues. Against a Camper you have lots of useful tricks. Dead Hard combined with Borrowed Time used correctly will bait the swing at you which DH handles, you unhook while he is reloading and take the protection hit while the other gets away. That is just ONE way to do it. There are videos (lots of them) made by far better players than me (I consider myself a competent Survivor... no more and no less) which you can go watch.
Look, I'm trying to be nice. I'm actually trying to be helpful, but people like you really try my patience. If you spent even 10% of the time working on your obstacles in game and researching as you do moaning and groaning here, you wouldn't have anything to complain about. You would already be past it.

There is no getting good when it comes to those strats. The way you beat them is to play stealthy to not get found by the kill but wait the devs keep ######### nerfing stealth because killers kept complaint it wasn’t fun to play against. Go figure the things killers think isn’t fun get nerfed but the things survivors think aren’t fun don’t get touched.
And yet thousands of Players manage to play against it successfully every day. Git'gud.

Yes we are because anyone with a brain realizes how stupid that it. Camping, tunneling and slugging are the most complained about and hated thing in this game and has caused more people to quit then anything else. The fact that the devs keep trying to say those are legit strategies is only hurting the game in the long run. Keeping those things in the game only increased toxicity, divides the community even more, and make people hate on the devs an extreme amount. Literally nothing good comes from keeping those things in the game and nothing good comes from the devs continued defense and support of it.
No, actually they are are not. A distinct vocal minority complains about them endlessly, but every time serious polls are done, the results would surprise you. You just need to git'gud.

Personally, I think this is one of the best surprise events they have done in forever. I hope they do more of these things where things are just appearing on the map. Survivors don't have to commit suicide to get one. They can just play normally, and eventually they will get one. :)

@rch614 said:
I agree though. It's very unhealthy regardless because it also encourages killers to slug one person and close hatch so they can look for the gnome while that one person is bleeding for 4 minutes.
Absolutely disgusting "event".
That isn't the Event's fault. Most Killers I know do that anyway for the points of closing the hatch. :) It never takes four minutes though. :)

This has to be the actual worst event BHVR has ever done , In order for survivors to have a chance at finding the Gnome they have to run around aimlessly and kill themself to hopefully find it and then have to escape afterwards???
4/5 of the playerbase have to kill themeselves and thier teamates just for 1 charm
Meanwhile all killers have do is equip Blood warden and get easy 4k's and get to take advantage of the event
How did this make it into live?? , it's just a suvivor suicide mechanic and an easier time for killers and A GIANT temporary buff to blood warden
Actually I rather like this event, kind of a nice surprise. Play Killer if you find that easier to find the Gnome. I got mine while playing Survivor but you do you. :) My advice is stop looking for it. I searched for it as Survivor and Killer for a LOT of matches with no luck. When I stopped looking, I found it.

The issue is not so much the killer forcibly taking a survivor out of the game, it’s the fact that all 4 survivors get their ranks and pips screwed over because the killer doesn’t want to interact with any of the except the guy he is camping/tunneling. Camping and tunneling would probably not be cared about nearly as much if the ranking/pip system was reworked but the devs don’t want to see to do that either.
You really need to get some new material champ. Look, I want to save you some time and aggravation. Camping and Tunneling aren't going anywhere. You could do one post a minute for the next three days full of sound and fury and it wouldn't have any effect. The DEV have made it abundantly clear time and time again that those are valid tactics and they aren't going to do anything to fix it for you. I suggest you go back just six months (no reason to go entirely crazy) and look at how many posts there have been. Go back two years if that is what it takes. You will find that you are beating a dead horse for no avail.

I understand your point. And I agree 1 perk won´t compare solo queue to the advantages they have in SWF. I don´t even aspire to that,
But I respectfully disagree with you on that game is balanced for solo survivors. I only play solo queue, and I can tell you win rate for survivors on my games are around 15%. Balance is a stadistic concept and it happens when both sides get around 50% win rate. Until win rate for Solo survivors - killer won´t be near around 50%, we can not say game is balanced. Is clearly not. balanced.
We can agree to disagree. I submit that Dead by Daylight has too many variables to be considered in terms of simple probability. Chaos Theory would be necessary to even begin to calculate anything remotely accurate. They do not have anything that works as an accurate matchmaking system, and even the ones that they do have (or could make) have no way of taking SWF into account. Thus, the only statistics that matter (or are possible) are so-called "big picture." It means there will never be a commonality of Solo matches that are 2/2 results. The only way those averages will happen is by averaging the large numbers of 4K versus 4E over and over again. The Bell Curve is the only Goddess that matters in this equation, and it has nothing to do with what you are trying to achieve.
In any event, I respectfully accept that we don't agree here, but I'm confident as time goes on that the only viable solution will become more and more evident. People will continue to call for all these complex fixes with unknown and unintended consequences. The DEV will continue to ignore those calls because the man hours and cost would be prohibitive, and the issue will continue in a feedback loop to get worse. Every day we get more SWF because Solo Queue is stressed and problematic. The longer a SWF play together the better they get. Fewer and fewer of them return regularly to Solo Queue. Thus, the best Players are slowly siphoned off. Trust and teamwork in the Solo Queue continues to degrade, egged on further by games where Solo are used and abused by 3-Person SWF. No trust means poor teamwork. Poor teamwork means poorer results and thus the cycle continues. Meanwhile the Killers, fighting more and more SWF adapt and become steamrollers, which devastates Solo who can't compete. Other Killers who can't adapt leave creating longer Queues. :) I trust you see where I'm going with this.
The one thing we can have faith in is that "Malthus always has the last laugh." That is an old axiom, but is telling and appropriate in regards to DbD. Certain things are increasing geometrically in our beloved game while others only increase at an arithmetic rate. It is only a matter of time.

That wouldn't work when 2 and 3 person groups can be put into lobbies with solos. Those solos would feel cheated if they were put into a disadvantage because their SWF team mates are debuffed. The only way to fix this is by giving survivors base buffs and QOL features so as to lower the information gap between solos and SWF. That away the devs can then balance the game around one survivor standard instead of two survivor standards.
Here's what they could do to buff solos to SWF levels:
- Totem counter in the HUD.
- The survivor portrait glows with a special effect when the killer is camping them.
- Action status (gen repair, cleansing totem, chests) for all survivors in their UIs.
- Chase indicators for all survivors in the HUD. Obsession now has a unique one.
- Allowing survivors to see whose in a group in the lobby.
- Allowing solos and 2 man SWF to join an other group while in the same lobby.
- In game voice chat for SWF groups, as a QOL feature for crossplay players.
Then you can radically change how generators work. Have it so their base time is increased to 100 seconds, but now their are gen parts or gas cans hidden around the map. Installing one of these parts lowers the base time to repair a gen by 40 seconds. There is 1 part for every gen. This would encourage survivors to explore the map more, then just camp gens, and be rewarded with 60 second gens. But in doing so they allow the killer more chances to get into chases with survivors. A win-win for both sides.
However this still leaves two killer tatics that hurt solos bad, while being nesscary when against SWF + current gens: tunneling and slugging. But now with solos buffed and gens chanegd to allow for more killer interaction they can be changed to be less unfun for solos.
Survivors now have a base ability to lift themselves up when downed. But have it so they can only use it 3 times. As of right now, slugging is hell for solos but still manageable with SWF. This would equalize it somewhat.
Tunneling can be addressed by the camping indicator I mentioned and a new base survivor mechanic: Survivors can hold there breath for a few seconds to not make any injured or healthy running noises. Once the 5-10 seconds are up, the ability goes on a 30? second cooldown and they let out a loudish gasp of air. Would allow unhooked survivors an easier time to avoid tunneling killers and add more depth to a chase by making jukes and mindgames more possible for survivors. Iron Will would have to be changed (nerfed), but that's for the good as it's a problematic perk anyways. One of the games many band-aid perks that was created to solve an issue (tunneling killers) that should have been solved through core gameplay mechanics.
If after doing all this, kill rates plummet, then the devs can buff killers as they see fit. Though I doubt they would drop much considering they're quite high right now, even with SWF being OP.
But as of right now, no major changes will ever happen when they are held back from designing everything to be 'balanced' with both solos and SWF in mind. Which due to their power difference is simply not possible and futile.
Solo stuck in with SWF now are already at a terrible disadvantage, not the least of which is the fact their teammates consider them a disposable asset. :) Let me put this another way, the DEV always choose the path of least coding when they make changes. I suspect you and I would agree that some steps are better than no steps. What do you think is something they are more likely to consider doing:
- Simple unlocking of an extra Perk for Killers tied to 3+ coming in from a SWF Lobby, or
- Massive changes to existing spaghetti code, changes to existing Perks and base kit mechanics?
I'm being pragmatic here; time and time again they have made changes based on a combination of cost assessment and effect. If (and it is a big if) they decide to do anything about the growing issue we are talking about, it will be done in the same manner. They will take the path of least coding. It is my view that they will not do anything about the problem until it actually affects numbers and causes a sustained drop in Players, i.e. they will only do something to address it when dragged kicking and screaming by the situation. In short, we will simply have to adapt and continue forward assuming the status quo isn't going to change for quite some time.

RIP to that rando who unknowingly joined a 3-man and now would face a killer running 5 perks. Sucks to be them...
I agree. If I had my way there would be NO RANDO getting punished in that way. I hate that they are punished in this way now. A 3-Person SWF is a pox on the poor Solo tossed in with them even now. :) I personally think SWF should be 4-Person, but that would require more of the Players and they don't tend to ask anything of us because of the portion that won't do anything but complain. :)

Different queue for solo and SWF would be a bad idea. So that would mean longer queues.
When I talk about buff solo, I´m not even saying giving solo queues the same advantages. I just want the game would be a close and balanced game, challenguing for both sides with a win rate about 50%. Killers simply destroy solo survivors, and they don´t even need to play at their best for that. So those games are not funny, neither exciting. Many people dc or suicide on solo games. It´s not the best behaviour, but sometimes games are so unfairly onesided that survivors get interest on trying to survive.
Regarding SWF i keep saying I have no a certain idea as I don´t play it. At competitive levels I see many times killers can handle a "pro" team, and take 3 or 4 kills. But I suppose that only happens with tier S killer like nurse, spirit or Blight.
They should try to buff solo queue for sure. And killer vs SWF (if that´s really unabalanced as well; I insist I have no diea about that).
I mean.....what´s the worst thing can happen??? Balance the game???? xDDDD
Except that buffing Solo won't balance the game. :) The game is already balanced around Solo which is why SWF is causing so much havoc as we get more and more of them (and the ones we already have get better and better with practice). I agree the different Queues won't work which is why I favor the additional Perk unlocked for Killers ONLY when they face a 3+ SWF. But I'm going to double down and repeat what I've already said, you CANNOT give Solo anything that will remotely be like what SWF have without having to rebalance the entire game. Even then it probably isn't possible. Playing regularly with friends forges "Seal Team SWF," my little play on words for Seal Team 6. Simple buffs won't provide that. A SWF is more than the massive boost the 5th Perk (Comms) provides. It is about more than communication inside the game. It is knowing the other Survivors in a personal way, communicating without even having to communicate, and the team having plans of actions, policies, and practices already worked out over time for each situation. Solo won't ever have that regardless of Buffs. That is why the only solution is to target Buff Killers but ONLY when they face a SWF. They go back to normal against Solo.

Right so as most of you have seen my previous comments on previous posts regarding gen rushing and saying how absolute nonsense it was.
K, well... turns out I've had my first experience witnessing from the start of the game AS A SURVIVOR. Pretty much I've fixed one and obviously done a stupid move in not paying too much attention and run straight out infront of Trapper 😂 🤙 as I clearly have the skill this morning to do this.
I've got into a chase for a good minute looping ect... anyway right, here's the punchline. I fully understand and aware of being hooked as long as I can to for my team to at least get one extra gen in... however, ALL 3 OF THEM were on a gen each, and it literally took a message to one of them like "so am I just hanging here now or will someone kindly get the save" before one of them decided to get me (whilst I'm on the struggle phase) 🙄
And last but not least. This dwight didn't have borrowed time on, and so he unhooked me infront of trapper and instead of him going for the one who saved, nope... he decides to drop me again 😂 the problem wasn't the fact I died or got a good spanking from the killer himself... the problem is from start til I died, everyone was only interested in getting the gens done. Has anyone been in a situation like this before? 😳 and why does it take 3 people running off to a gen each ignoring the save?
They were all purple ranks too 😑
They were a 3-Person SWF. You were their Red Shirt. That is an example of an entirely different issue. :)

That is interesting. Buffing killers against SWF 3 or more. Not all the time.
Exactly. Balance is a harsh mistress and balancing a game like DbD is always precarious, hard and a work in progress. Suddenly trying to buff Solo up to match SWF is a massive undertaking and not really possible short of giving Solo exactly the same Comms. That runs into lots of obstacles:
- Not everyone is comfortable talking to total strangers (for a variety of reason).
- Talk between strangers (not friends) often has explosive, undesirable consequences.
- It would be even more demanding on systems to have it internalized into the code.
- It would further increase the complexity of the Spaghetti code.
- Talking to other Solos does not, in of itself, provide the coordination that regular play with friends does. They would have to play with the same Solos to develop the trust and sense of camaraderie to get the same results, and at that point aren't they just a SWF and no longer Solo?
In short, there is no way whatsoever to buff Solo to match the competitive edge that playing regularly with friends (on Comms) provides. All you would get for trying is losing all sense of balance as the entire system recoils from the shock of the changes. Imagine the changes to so many Perks that would happen, and how Killers would have to be evaluated all over again. Everything we know about balance would change overnight. It is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
However, simply unlocking an extra Perk slot for Killers when (and ONLY when) they face a 3+ SWF is a rough balancing act that in no way impacts Solo or requires everything to be rethought. It is something easily done to be tested. Would it exactly equate to the competitive edge SWF have? It is impossible to know, as it is untested potential. Not all SWF are great even with the "potential" competitive edge. Not all Killers, even with another Perk, would be better. They would merely have greater potential. I think the best we can hope for in this situation an escalation within the limited framework. The only other option is to split Solo Queues and Team Queues up so they can be balanced individually, and that is something they will never due because both Queues would slow down. No matter how you look at it, the best solution always comes back to the most direct, simple one. Buff Killers but ONLY when they face SWF. Don't change any basic powers or Perks, just add one Perk Slot to offset the 5th Perk (Comms) that SWF enjoy.

Dead by Daylight provides minimal training before throwing Players out into the fog. You don't really learn the game until you are playing it. This creates a see-saw power role situation, wherein the Killer is far more powerful at first because he/she doesn't have to rely on anyone else to accomplish basic objectives. The Killer's benefits are readily available from the very start. The Survivors, by contrast, can't really get out or achieve the overall objective without working together. By in large, nobody has stressed the importance of that to them yet. They have to learn it as they go by painful trial and error.
However, as the Survivors start to find their footing and work together, learn the tactics of spreading out on Generators, how to do safe rescues, and so on, the see-saw starts to tilt the other way. By the time you get to the potent Ranks the power role is absolutely the Survivors. They make all the key choices now, and it is the Killer who must adapt to them. Everyone starts and goes through this same process, unless of course someone was nice enough to take them into custom rooms and give them private instruction. That goes a long way. Playing with a more advanced SWF as you learn helps too.
The experience you describe is pretty much the same as what most of us experienced. The game is very hard for new Players in the Survivor role. It becomes very hard for the Killer shortly thereafter. The game has a high stress/frustration level but that doesn't appear to have caused it to crash in burn. To the contrary, the fact that the game is so unpredictable and unforgiving seems to spur a certain type of Player (not all of them mind you) to keep going, determined to succeed come hell or high water. It is from the fires of this adversity that really good Players are forged.
-
We don't need to balance the game around SWF. We simply need a buff that only triggers for Killers when they fight against a SWF. That way Perks, gear, add-on(s), etc. don't have to be altered to try and fix the problem. The easiest solution is for the system to unlock an extra Perk Slot for Killers when they face a 3+ SWF. This doesn't impact the Solo Queue and doesn't require massive buffs and rewrites of existing things, forcing a rebalance of the entire game.
We can test this for a bit and see if one more Perk helps off set the SWF's 5th Perk (Comms).
All trying to buff Solo Queue up to match SWF will do is require another set of buffs for Killers and we end up back in the same damn spot down the road. The issue is a competitive edge that only SWF have. The answer is to provide a competitive edge to the Killer that only triggers when they fight a SWF.

not priority over gens though, if you miss one by endgame, then the killer gets a free down and camp, not fun.
It isn't free; there is no such thing as a free lunch. The Killer played the entire match one Perk DOWN to gamble on whether the Survivors would not do Bones. People like you make that a good bet. The same Red Rank Killer who put in NOED could have easily put in a Perk that guarantees results every match and also turned it into multiple kills. The main problems you have (among many) is that you have no self awareness, an unwillingness to listen to any of the people trying to help you, and a bad tendency to make excuses. You have put yourself in the willful ignorance cage, and nobody is going to be able to help you because you don't really want to be helped. You clearly enjoy complaining about the game more than playing it.
NOED is probably one of the MOST easily dealt with of the Insta-Down Perks. You know how to stop it. You have an entire match to stop it. You know when it is going to go off. You have lots of tools you can choose to take to make stopping it easier. You know exactly what the Killer is likely to do when it does trigger. You can STILL stop it even after it triggers. Blaming the Killer (or the Perk) for your unwillingness to take steps is all on YOU. You get no sympathy here. Everyone reading your posts is thinking the same things I am; I'm just used to being the bad guy and saying it. Pulsar, a genuine trooper, tried to help you for two hours after I wrote you off and you still blew him off. Stop lying to us, and more importantly stop lying to yourself. Own your problems. Take responsibility for your failures. Until you do, you are done.

Yup. If i get 1 indoor map i quit, 2 straight indoor maps I'll get on a different game.
Like if a survivor quits. Im locked in a 3v1 getting stomped unfairly.
Flawed penalty system for both sides.
The atrocious map design just amplifies frustrations
Well... I wouldn't go that far. :) Indoor maps still can work for Oni but I realize they aren't our preference. There are some good add-on(s) for Oni that can let him see Auras even better than my Spooky Myers. They work VERY well on Hawkins in particular because of the cramped quarters make it hard to avoid the blood which triggers the auras.

Rant warning.
I played several killer games and got nothing but Hawkins, Midwich and Swamp with a few Cowsheds. Rough as Oni Main. I had stressful games and got screwed bad by map rng so i took a break and tried survivor.
3 straight spirits. 1 had and ebony and tunneled, 2 slugged, 1 let me bleed out and was teaming with the Dwight who led her to me.
Out of 9 games every surv match but 2 had a DC(penalty does nothing but trap me in a 3v1 or let me bleed out on the ground lol.)
Only 7 gens were done. I did 5. The best Claudette I've met did 2.
And doing me challenges was incredibly annoying as I'd get bad luck, swamp challenge and get the previous the very next game with it no longer equipped.
Sorry for the rant lol. Seems like every Sweaty Freddy has become a Spirit main or joined Survivor.
Seriously though dbd hasn't tilted me like this since pallet vaccums existed
I was going to say, as a Spooky Myers main, that sounds like a great lineup. Hawkins and Midwich are my jam. :) The Swamps are workable. The new Cowsheds also work for me now. But yeah... as the Oni I can see why that would be an issue.

Okay go ahead, help me with noed o' mighty one.
I said let us know when you ACTUALLY want help. Your tone there indicates you don't. Perhaps Pulsar will help you, but I'm not doing anything for you until you reach back out genuinely asking. Until you are serious, nothing we offer will be accepted. You have to want to learn, and you don't believe we have anything to teach you.
-
Nothing you are saying jives with that screenshot you gave us. But suit yourself. I don't recall what I was like at 300 hours, so I might have been just as pig-headed, perhaps worse. I assure you NOED isn't going away, nor are any of the things you are complaining about. You have reached a juncture where you are going to just have to adapt and move forward or cry off. If you are no longer having fun, there are other games. There will be no Deus Ex Machina from the DEV anytime soon. I'm not saying this to be mean; it is just a fact. Complaining isn't going to help you overcome these obstacles. Let us know when you actually want help.

My ping is always green, around 30, so no, we are not against the same killers.
How do you know what my Ping is? :)

Bubba is dumb, and his ability allows him way too easily to camp.
Noed punishes players for not running and cleansing every unlit totem.
Insidious promotes camping and needs a complete rework.
I'm sure the rest I'd list would have also been stated a million times.
I know you showed us that picture and all, but your comments are making me doubt the veracity of that Rank-4 in the right hand corner. Otz, btw, has a great video on how not to get tilted.

I'm not doing that... #########.
noed is dumb and needs to be changed, i am not changing that opinion, doesn't matter how many times I see it in games.
You won't accept actual evidence you see that you are wrong? You have DECIDED what is right and nothing will sway you? That is called "willful ignorance" and is the worst thing to do to yourself. Everyone starts out in ignorance, and there is no shame in it. We only advance as we learn. But "willful ignorance" is putting yourself in a cage. We can't help you if you don't want to be helped. I notice you aren't asking for advice on how to deal with NOED in the Red Ranks. That is warning flag; it demonstrates that you care more about moaning and groaning than actual solutions. If you don't look, you won't find.

What one person plays out of the thousands and thousands plays means nothing, even if the broken perks are only played once every ten games... that's still not fun? What nationality are you guys? I'm EU.
I'm in the United States, East Coast. But we are obviously online at the same hours so we are probably pulling the same Killers. The Queues grab Killers from where ever it can. :) Look, I want to help you. I respect Survivors who play Solo and you slogging down to Rank-4 as a Solo in a short time is impressive. Your experience of being overwhelmed and frustrated now that you are fighting regular Red Ranks is not uncommon, nor is it anything to be ashamed of. Most of us have been through it. What you need to do is NOT get tilted, forget everything you THOUGHT you knew, and recognize this is a brand new ballpark with all new rules.

I see noed every few games.
All due respect, you see it less than you THINK you do. :) I used to think all sorts of things because our perception is largely influenced by confirmation bias. The times you do run into NOED stick out to you more because you hate it and don't do well against it. What I suggest, because it helped me, is record every game and track every Perk you run up against and graph it. I suspect that after a proper sample you will find you don't run into it near as much as you THINK you did. :) I also suspect the slaughterfest you describe isn't as total as you are projecting. Being tilted blinds us to facts. Statistically you are pulling the same Killers as the rest of us, so statistically you are fighting the same builds we are fighting.

'People with below (so many hours)'s opinions don't matter'
I have below 300 total across both platforms yeah, none of my opinions are going to change in the next 100 hours.
Survivor has a lot of good perks and variety, don't know what I'd say 'the best' is, depends on if you're going for altruism or playing more for yourself.
The killer side I feel has a lot less variety, noed, pop, insidious for the campers, ruin (which i don't have much of a probably with just see it a lot) BBQ&C etc. don't know if i really need to list the ######### everyone knows.
Therein lies the rub, we don't know because you are wrong about that. I play a Red Rank Killer and I don't run Barbeque & Chili, Pop, Insidious, and only throw NOED in once in a blue moon. My standard build is Corrupt Intervention, Play With Your Food, Sloppy Butcher, and Make Your Choice. I play against a lot of Red Rank Killers too and I assure you their builds are quite diverse. Again, what you need is actual help, tactics, advice and to stop letting yourself be tilted. The route you are choosing isn't going to help you at all.

The fact that you think anyone with a different opinion to you is lying about being red is hilarious.
Thank you for verifying to us that you are a relatively new player by showing us your Devotion. So you recently broke through to Rank-4 and are getting overwhelmed? That makes sense. It suffices to say what you need to be doing is asking for help, not complaining about Killers being too strong.
-
I believe you are frustrated and upset about doing poorly in the game. I don't believe your self-styled credentials. I have multiple reasons for this. For the record, I play both Killer and Survivor. I'm a Red Rank Killer who sits between Rank-1 and Rank-3 depending on the day. As a Survivor I'm not quite as good, the lowest Rank I've hit is Rank-3, and usually bounce back and forth from Rank-3 to Rank-6 depending on the day. I also play Solo MOST of the time. I'm telling you this so you understand my credentials, and why I don't buy yours.
- You don't talk like any Red Rank Survivor I know; in fact, you sound like a relatively new Player. You are parroting all the standard new Player complaints. You basically regurgitated all the classics, not missing a single one.
- You didn't talk strategies that failed, techniques, or mention specific problems. Everything you have said has been a glittering generality, all sound and fury but no substance.
- Red Rank Survivors tend to know how to deal with NOED and Insidious. It is a chore but not something we sit around bemoaning all the time. In fact, while there are some Red Rank Killers who use those Perks, they are far less common at the level you are claiming to play at than anywhere else.
- You are brand new to this Forum, with a tiny number of posts. Usually by the time someone has slogged their way up into the Red Ranks as Survivor (particularly Solo) we have heard from them long before that. It is almost as if you got frustrated and created an account to vent. Are you saying you didn't have a problem with these same Perks and issues before? I mean most people wrote novel-length complaints while still Potatoes about the things you are complaining about. Somehow you tolerated it all until now? That dog won't hunt.
- There is this trend that repeats itself every so often, at least once a month but usually every week or two weeks. Someone shows up demonstrating all the things I've already listed above, and claims to be a Red Rank Killer or Survivor or both because they mistakenly believe that lends weight to their arguments. It doesn't. This is a fallacy because I assure you that people don't care what Rank I am, and are only won over (or not) based on the strength of my arguments. This mistaken belief that Rank somehow lends authority to posts seems to lead people astray into fibbing about themselves. What follows is a number of long threads where it becomes increasingly clear the poster doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Someone eventually says, what is your name so I can go look at your achievements, and they vanish. I'm trying to save you that painful process.
DbD has lots of issues; any game like this is going to be a work in progress. The Killers being too strong in the Red Ranks isn't one of them. In general, the more potent Ranks sees the power balance shift to the Survivors because by this point (SWF or Solo) they know how to work together. Now, if you have some arguments to make that you can support, I suggest you do so. If not, I suggest leaving your "credentials" out of it. Whether I believe you or not is moot. Whether you are honest or not is moot. Your credentials bring NOTHING to the table. Let's hear some actual arguments backed up by something.

I'm a Survivor main, I play Killer super casual and only really to complete Rift challenges.
I could never really invest the same amount of time into Killer to Pip up and play at Red ranks, it's just not that fun to me and, I don't really care about "winning".
I also don't really care about escaping as Survivor. I like to make good plays, saves, breakouts, sabotage, ect. I won't leave a teammate behind at collapse, I'd rather die on the hook.
So what is driving the "winning" mentality? Even if you can slug down a 4K with very little Chase and only four hooks, you deny yourself the BP's and Pips and you deny the Survivors BP's and Pips.
I'd rather stay in the game, play the game as opposed to slugging and ending the game or, running out the gate when I could go try to save my friend.
Escaping and 4K's aren't "winning" to me, the Meta mentality on both sides drives the game to a toxic place where, people don't even come to play, they just want to dunk on someone and then tell you GG.
I think it is great you are sharing what winning/losing mean to you. I respect your personal choices, please give us the same courtesy. This is a PvP game, which by default is going to have winners and losers. DbD doesn't specify win conditions, and provides you lots of little ways to claim a win even when you get waffle-stomped. Live it, love it, lie about it. Some people measure their victory based on how many kills or escapes occur for their side in the match. We have to respect that too, let them seek their bliss. If you don't want to get slugged, get better at looping. If you want more casual games, make some friends and create a custom game where you can set whatever rules and limitations you all agree upon. I've instantly solved your problem.
