Sometimes they'll just down me and let the others heal me instead but some are nice enough to do it. And even then, it still feels like a total waste of time where I have to wait for a lobby, wait for everybody to ready up, wait through a loading screen, then get downed and hooked twice, then repeat the first three steps. That's fifteen to twenty minutes of wasted time. It's fine if it's not a big deal to you or if you enjoy farming, to each their own. But I'd rather just leave the lobby immediately and save some time and my add-ons.

I understand it totally, but I don’t run into farmers that often tbh. There were like 3 Huntresses in the past few weeks that wanted their challenges done but other than that I don’t face them that often that I see it as a problem.

I disagree. I'd honestly rather load into a match, get one-hit downed, and camped to death because that wastes a lot less time in a boring match then the killer farming and me doing gens alone. Face camping at least involves some interaction with the killer in the form of a chase.

I agree with the DC and hook suiciding though, because that's not really the killer or other survivors fault and the killer letting them farm is seen more of a gesture of kindness.

you can also run the the farming killer and then let him know that you want to get sacrificed, I bet most will understand. You may still think it wastes some of your time but it can end it faster.

  • I would say better boring farming and getting at least some bloodpoints than a facecamping bubba, but that’s just me I guess..

also there is not that much time for messaging and sometimes killers don’t intend to farm before the match starts but decide to after a DC/hook suicide maybe even depending on map or offerings

  • There are of course many surv that do this to taunt the killer.

i only do it when there is/may be a survival in match that might need help. Or to give the killer a last hit (maybe for daily or achievement, I had some Billys/Ghost Faces thank me afterwards for it)

  • Yeah that’s way too frequent, especially while healing and the killer comes, maybe autodidact would be needed here, since that Perk has some not officially stated passive effect to lower occurrence of healing skillchecks?

  • is there any precedent for those unknown steam pages so we know in which timeframe something could be announced?

as I understood it, for every new licensed DLC a new steam page without any information is added some time before the announcement, right?

I absolutely do not see these as personal offensives because there's nothing personal about them.

Killers get stunned by pallets all the time, survivors "butt dance" all the time. You can argue all you want about intended offence. But it's absurd to think that any of this is personal. If it's just a collection of actions that are meant to insult people then there can be nothing about them directed towards a single person.

I would argue doing something that is meant to insult people and direct it to one person specifically is indeed something personal.

Also, you said you know people take it personal but you still do it anyway and just ignore their opinion because you see it another way.. maybe it’s not a personal offense but it’s still bad manners. You can’t change the perception of the majority of the community only because you see it not that way.

  • they could also make a new item like an Energy Drink, that would need some time to use (animation of drinking).

the ultra rare one would kind of work like a syringe, so a timed reset of exhaustion, lower rarity could just work like a better but one time use vigil or something.

a combination with other Medkit uses/addons wouldn’t be possible anymore and it can still be countered with Franklins, exhaustion killer addons.

  • so you pretty much don’t understand „hitting someone on the hook“, „buttdancing after pallet stun/at exit gates“ or „pointing at killer after a pallet stun“...

honestly... how can you not understand that many people do this as insults? It’s really not hard to grasp. You cannot show the middlefinger in this game so people use what they have got on their hands, and those actions are all totally unnecessary in those situations and non of these are fun to do or do anything other than taunt the opponent.

How can you not see this as a personal offense? It only affects that person and is taking away some of your time.

there are of course no rules against it and you can keep doing it, but acting surprised that someone doesn’t like it is pretty much only making it more rude..

That's actually something else I've been wondering about. Why people care at all about survivors teabagging.

The concept is the humiliation of an already defeated opponent by rubbing your balls over their corpse, because you had managed to kill them. But I really don't the action makes any sense to use in dbd.

You can't ever kill a killer, so you can't fulfill the one requirement of tea bagging in the first place, that being shaming your enemy's corpse. People just teabag on the spot as if that's somehow an insult and not missing the entire point of the action.

The most I can understand is survivors teabagging at the exit gates. But even then it's usually a save distance away from the killer so the survivors cannot be punished for taunting them.

Teabagging is just a term being used in DbD because it is similar in a sense but not the same concept as in other videotapes. Some call it buttdancing and there are probably many other names for it. The name doesn’t change the action though. It is an unnecessary action that may even steal some of your own time just so the opponent can see it and gets angry/salty/taunted or something.

  • @SirCracken said:

Personally, I see hooked survivors as noisy blood pinatas. If I have maxed out STBFL or am playing a killer that can multi-hit I'll occasionally smack a hooked survivor for the sheer fun of it.

But some people really don't like that, even though it gives their team mates extra time, and they somehow think that me hitting them means I'm angry or something.

I think it's just weapons-grade projection at work. But I could be wrong.

May I ask if you find teabagging or pointing after a pallet stun to be toxic/rude or something?

  • Charlie from Don’t Starve Together with some kind of Darkness power. Not really scared of her but I think it would be fitting.

I always likes the Cheshire Cat, never seen him as a killer.. if they tweaked him, that would be kinda scary though

    It's never been easier.

II play in a 4 man SWF. Myself and another player always got rank 1. Player 3 hit rank 5 once and Player 4 hit rank 8 as their highest. This is after hundreds of hours of playtime btw.

In the past couple of months they have both set personal bests. The Rank 5 hit Rank 1 while the Rank 8 made it to Rank 5.

And? Still needed some kind of investment. And SWF work, which makes it way easier.

and I never said it was hard to begin with. And never said which kind of investment it takes. I just wanted to make a joke and say congratulations.

  • What? A killer main saying that it actually requires some investment to get to surv red ranks??!! gasp

joke of course, congrats! Nice solid Perk build for it. But it’s kinda sad that BT is such a required Perk

Mostly on YouTube or Twitch streamer who play the game lately who complain like little babies because the killer is too overpowered. My goodness if they feel that way then they learn how to play better. Don't leave the match because you don't like the killer, it should make you WANT to play to get better. Does that make sense?

It does make sense. I don’t watch too much YouTuber or Twitch streamer though so I wouldn’t know that.

but the same can be said about killers that complain. It’s not an issue only on the survivor side.

  • Well, when someone says X Killer is OP they probably mean compared to other killers, and while there will always be killers that are more viable than others, there shouldn’t be one that highly overperforms over all others. Also I haven’t really noticed THAT high of an „PH is OP“ or „Silent Hill shouldn’t be in the game“ outcry tbh, where do you see all those complains?

  • They would need to negotiate with the license holders in both versions (normal cosmetics and legendarys), they cannot just add something because they want to..

  • why would the look be a legendary skin instead of a normal skin set? It is still Michael Myers, and you could mix with current cosmetics.

different chase music is something else, which I wouldn’t hope for..

  • There were suggestions for Mori animations in the in-game shop, which would be really cool! But I guess they would need a little more work put into and many people wouldn’t buy them because you don’t see them that often..

Sorry, I didn’t mean to come off so passive aggressive. I misread your reply as I was distracted when I was doing so and I thought you were doing the typical “git gud scrub’ response that far too many people overuse.

But, I definitely see your point. It’s just stupid that you’ll be targeted for being a strong player. You shouldn’t have to dumb down your play style so you don’t hurt the killers feelings. I guess it’s just one of the downsides of playing with real people.

No problem. Just wanted to clear it up, hope that wasn’t rude (language barrier).

with these kinds of killers, there is just no way to please them. If you really dumb down your playstyle they are the ones that will cry „git gud“. Not saying all killers are like this obviously. And there are certainly enough survivors with the same mentality :D

  • @TheLastGreatStar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1321225#Comment_1321225

I wasn’t the first one hooked. And I’m definitely not the weakest link so don’t even try that with me. They tunnelled me because I was hard for them to catch. Both the Claudette’s in my Freddy game went down almost within seconds of being injured first. Were they tunnelled? Nope. I am chased for 3 gens and then the killer deliberately walks through other injured teammates just to down me again at the hook. It was because they were salty. It’s stupid to punish somebody for being a good player.

I didn’t try anything with you. I was just saying that there is not one reason why killers tunnel. One tunnels because you are hard to catch, the other because you are easy to catch. You can’t change your playstyle to not get tunneled (I was referring to you „play purposely bad“ part).

but then again, if you were so good, were was even the problem? You wasted time of the killer, others could do gens, you even get points for lightbringer-Emblem for distraction. Also most killers are slugging for the DS timeframe anyway.

So, what's about killers like hag, demo or Freddy who can teleport across the map? Still survivors fault when they instantly come back to tunnel? Maybe the survivors should wait till the killer is out of the Map so they can unhook safely without getting tunneling omegalul

Well of course, Killer can’t tunnel if no survivor gets unhooked! It’s all the survivors fault!

  • @TheLastGreatStar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1321181#Comment_1321181

The ironic thing about it is, the other survivors who don’t get tunnelled are the ones using DH, DS and other exhaustion perks. But there’s me and Jeff using stuff like Aftercare and Pharmacy and we’re targeted for being hard to catch. Am I supposed to just purposely play bad so the killers show mercy? Haha.

Nope, if you play (purposely) bad the killer will tunnel you because you are the weakest link and one out means easier pressure and you should git gud.

notice a pattern? Yeah most killers will just tunnel the first one hooked.

  • i think most people are just trying to have fun, but matchmaking screws you and then you are not able to participate in the match. Tunneling/camping is seen this way at least for the chosen surv, so is genrushing/looping the killer for the whole match (which is easier to do for a coordinated SWF).

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1320749#Comment_1320749

Its because the SWF's commas are OP. They should just use a period and end the sentence, but no... they have to keep it going. I'm just busting your chops.

Personally, I'll look out of curiosity...but I dont get scared away by SWFs. I'm not one to blame every outplay a survivor makes on SWFs, although I have turned abit paranoid anytime someone goes down near a locker and check the locker before picking em up.

Don’t pick on me, autocorrect on different language is hard 😂

yeah I know that not all killer mains are like this. But the majority is, and I noticed that whole accusing of SWF often lately.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1320696#Comment_1320696

Tru3 constantly claims everytime he plays killer, the survivors are "optimal" while everytime he plays survivor, his teammates are potatos. Also everytime a survivor 360s him and he wiffs, it was "Dead 'ard", which apparently they must be hackers because they can often times use it several times per chase, lol.

This sounds like just every killer main tbh. Accusing of SWF with comms, and the whole potato thing.

  • Replace „Tru3“ with „Any Killer Main“

  • It is being tested and rainbow rank matches have been pretty much everywhere for a period of time now. Also it is being turned on and off again. You will probably not notice it at all in such a short period of time.

  • cool story indeed. And such a unique one that we haven’t heard at all before. Go on with it, you clearly make the community better this way 👍

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

I used to love the prospect of licensed chapters...but this was the last time I will put energy in to brainstorming who the new killer will be.

It's just worth the disappointment and unjustified hype.

I will certainly not be watching anymore YouTuber prediction videos. I viewed one or two and it's really easy to acknowledge when people haven't got a flying clue what they're talking about.

You should have just listened to the people who insisted that the 4 was shaped like Pyramidheads head. It was so „obvious“ and turned out to be fully true!

  • Sorry but no.

Devs have stated that SWF don’t perform that much better than solos and all this would bring is solos having an even worse experience!

also, lately I have very often been accused of being full SWF when I was maximum only 2 man SWF and the other 2 were clearly solos.

even if there was an indicator for SWF after-game I am sure there would be accusations of SWF connecting via lobby dodging until they are together. It is not always the reason you are struggling.

I have to play otherwise I’ll get behind on my battle pass

    you have to STAHP.

no seriously, pause the game. Take your mind off it. Don’t buy any battle passes if they make you feel like this, what do you gain from it?

  • You are literally just posting a pic with 2 of those „add player“ symbols though? What could be there that is invisible?

edit: wait there is a name on the right side! They are gonna add a new completely invisible survivor named Claude T(something)!

  • You shouldn’t feel this way because you play a game.. take some time off the game, or try not to focus on the challenges for a few matches. There are actually some that just get finished naturally without any change in gameplay.

if the framerate bothers you that much, just stop playing. No one is forcing you (hopefully).

  • Yeah I get that. Especially when it is so rewarding for the facecamper: one easy sacrifice and another pretty easy sacrifice. Slap on NoeD and you got yourself a third almost guaranteed sacrifice.

Solo queues can pretty much do nothing against it, everyone needs to check if killer is really facecamping AND of killer continues to facecamp. No time for genrush and all totems.

Why play GF on PTB when its used to try brand nee things?

Try GF on new map, as OP has stated.

and try GF (or any other killer for that matter) with the new Killer Perks or against the new survivor Perks.

  • There was no one in the wrong here. DC penalty’s are not implemented in the PTB for a reason, so they can disconnect.

if they were rude by telling you to not play GF that would be a different matter, but then again everyone is allowed to give their opinion and as long as they didn’t insult you/broke any rules, just ignore them..

There is a section clearly marked as "Feedback" so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Again: question arouse while in this thread. You are not the only one writing here.

but thanks for the answer, thought there was only the game feedback.

  • @MrCookie said:

If survivors could see the killer it would make all good killers wait for ages to play the game. And the reasons why survivors would dodge the killer are just ridiculous. "I don't like playing against Freddy\Legion\Hag\Spirit....." "This guy kicked my ass" "This guy doesn't leave hook when there are survivors swarming it, he is a camper!" and so on. So I am pretty sure that's not healthy for the game. And the only thing killers dodge I guess SWF, though I just change my loadout if I suspect SWF.

You really think that would be the only reason for killers to dodge?

heck, I have dodged lobbies as killer because of Steam profiles or names. And I can guarantee you killers dodge lobbies when they get matched against good survivors that „kicked their ass“ in a match prior. And that without any SWF involved.

There is no Killer Rulebook for Survivors, only the opposite. And that has got a reason: no book could ever include THAT many rules.

  • Off topic, I know, but is there an „ignore“-option on this forum where I can just see all posts but not that of a specific user? Some people you just gotta ignore so you don’t let yourself get dragged down to their level.

When I started playing, it was that it gave you the bonus bloodpoints during the match, and if you got to 8k naturally without it, bringing it did literally nothing. People have been saying it's been like this for a while, so I must have missed the change.

I started some time in autumn 2018 and it never changed since then. I am pretty sure of it.

  • Have you recorded this? Sounds like a bug and you should report that.

i had one spawn where I was in the line of sight of the killer on Gas Heaven Map and noticed that I often spawn in „lullaby-radius“ of huntress, but never as extreme as you described

They know they are ruining the game for the killer when they pick that character. Nobody picks this character because they like her. They pick her to have EZ camouflage. Anyone that says otherwise IS A LIAR.

Not to mention that as survivor all I even see Claudettes do is run to a corner and Self Care. So even as survivor they are ruining my game, leaving me to die on a hook when they could easily save me.

Claudette is one of a few free characters and actually pretty likable both lore- and style-wise. She was the first character I played as, when I didn’t really know/realize that whole Blendette thing. I also dropped SelfCare very fast.

your arguments are just wonky, „even Claudettes in their brightest cosmetics are harder to see than other characters“? Really? Even pink hat and white jacket?

  • I love these screenshots! Really something refreshing in these forums where normally the opposite is posted.

my experience is also more positive (or no answer) from survivors when playing killer.

even in this one frustrating game today where I got teabagged and flashlight clicky clickys and genrushed. Ended up killing 3 because I startet tunneling and proxycamping. I apologized in endgame chat and explained why I did it and they were good sports (probably after seeing my rank more so)

  • I just watched that trailer and I would be really glad to see those survivors in game! Give them new identities and make them legacy. If you want to avoid any racist accusations, make Alpha Meg a Claudette legacy cosmetic and name her „Margaret Thomason“.
