  • Never understand how Hillbilly previous to the change is now considered most balanced or average when he was easily one of the 3 strongest killers…

and if you wanna quote the devs, do it right. They said they were mostly fine with him.

and he is still performing pretty well, just not as often seen any more. Which is a good thing, more variety.

  • I recently introduced a friend into DbD and we played a few matches in normal lobbies but also in KYF to show her and some others the base mechanics.

she panicked even when I told her to stop and watch while I played killer. I told her to follow me and she ran away even when i directly told her i want to show her the hatch and what sound it makes etc.

so.. maybe she played a few matches without me and panicked? XD

  • Actually the devs explicitly said that they can’t even guarantee if Sony and Microsoft platforms will ever get cross progression.

Steam and Stadia already have cross Progression enabled and they are still working on Switch to follow.

  • @Thegalaxy10000 said:

yes I've already tested it. I was jus't asking what you're thoughts are from some matches. and I'm a swf player so I don't need the perk empathy because of it

and the reason I don't want to add autodidact is because it's luck for a skill check. and because I'm usually saving them from hook and the odds of a skill check appearing is decreased a lot and even if a skill check appeared I would probably be almost done healing . so the reasons why I picked. WGLF is because of stacks and it's bonus healing. it came handy a lot in my matches and saved some of my friends because of it. and when i'm solo I'm swapping it for empathy. and forgive me if I can't write right .

Ah okay that makes sense for both perks :) and as was mentioned having faster healing makes the skillchecks even more rare than they already are so I guess autodidact would make more sense as a stand-alone perk.

And don’t worry, your writing is perfectly fine

  • Another killer main broken and driven into madness by those mean mean hatch escapers and gate teabaggers. RIP

  • i think the fog is kinda missing. On some of the more open maps like autoheaven it feels like you can watch from one end to the other and see everything that happens there. The fog should make it more atmospheric and obstruct the view more.

    @Anniehere said:

Maybe i analyze it too deeply but i think it has to do with psychological fear.

For example, Léry's Memorial Institute is basically a nightmare no one talks about in real life.

There's something scary about a hospital when it's abandoned and ruined. knowing that there were people who died in this place, knowing that there is a morgue room and maybe even ghosts. seeing the beds scattered around makes me shudder "Who was lying on this bed, and what happened to them?"

The game map is also has something unusual, it may be missing some details but we have the idea of "torture". we are stuck here and nothing is safe.

Comparing these two maps to the other maps, there is nothing scary about them. For the most part the places look like a forest, too clean and non-threatening. we can not guess a scary story in these places.

But RPD map is nicely done, i really like the atmosphere of the zombies and the blood in the right places. Just like Midwich.

My conclusion is, places we find scary in real life, can affect you in the game.

It was my nightmare to get stuck in my school, my nightmare is to visit a hospital. and I'm scared of zombies outside of the door when there is no cops around. ☺️

actually I think the Cow tree on the coldwind farm maps also count as one of these things. I remember that i always found it so obscure.. but i got kinda used to it now and other open maps lack something like that.

  • Playing on Steam and I get occasionally have those issues as well. Though right now it’s pretty rare for me. And in most cases it’s enough for me to go back to the main menu and open a new lobby.

  • 4th year because it’s more simplistic i guess.

would have been cool if the 5th had a complete different design tbh. But in the end I won’t use any of them as I think i don’t use any of the original head cosmetics. Maybe for Elodie, have to see how she looks with a crown though..

  • Yes please.

i mean, Cybil and Quentin are still the ones that need a rework the most (Laurie is luckily really getting a good one), but Claire’s face seemed really odd. The rest of her model looks great though..

  • From what I have seen it’s only one crown for Legion now.

the thing is.. masks are universal for Legion members either way as the body defines the character..

  • This forum is not meant to be about the Mobile version and I am not sure if bloodpoints have another use there..

People usually save Bloodpoints for new characters so they can get leveled directly when they get released/purchased. Or before you Prestige and reset a characters progress to immediately get perks etc.

  • So.. there was no Problem with the cells and you still have it?

then no. Cells are not refundable.

  • So.. what is the question for the community here?

if you want to give feedback here is the link to the forum section Feedback&Suggestions, where devs and mods collect feedback from mainly:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/suggestions

  • The sad thing is that Urban Evasion has such a bad reputation in this community that in the end toxic survivors (and killers) just hate on someone who uses it because they read about those survivors that use Urban Evasion and do nothing the whole game.

Not sure if that’s actually common in lower ranks but i think it’s not really as bad as some people want to make it out to be.

yeah the games were fairly decent surprisingly. yet I'm dissapointed how low the cakes count is for me at least.

Oh I am super lucky with cakes! Both in my bloodwebs and burned by other players. But I see that many have problems here as well..

  • Yeah, couldn’t find a match as well. Gonna go to sleep now and will collect more crowns tomorrow. At least the players don’t seem as toxic as during other events..

  • @apathyinc said:

A survivor who uses a wheelchair would be pretty great.

Actuall that would be pretty neat - but such a character would need complete new animations for almost everything and this would actually take away resources for stuff that is more important. And BHVR already said that survivors shall only remain skins of one another.

someone with a prosthetic leg or arm would work though as @ryankickassrb suggested!

  • it only changes the name of the event at the bottom right?

didn’t this already happen with the Halloween items as well?

  • Great to see you back again!

it was getting kinda boring here…

but for the question: no it’s just a QoL change for survivors and preventing instant hook suicides. This does not qualify as a buff at all

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

They can add Ellie from TLOU as a survivor, so that we can have a queer licensed character :)

(Aloy is in fortnite, so I’m sure it’s possible, it was even mentioned as an option by BHVR)

Ellie would be great, as well as Robin from Stranger Things as legendary Nancy skin!

Aloy is the Main Char from Horizon, right? I guess she wouldn’t work as that’s not a horror genre at all..

edit: and we have the Look-See, Birch and Mordeo as legendary skins already and they are confirmed to be LGBTQ+ by their creators! Though they are also monsters.. little bit weird on that..

That I was gonna say everyone is bi, which I wasn't, and that I'm in denial that they'd ever introduce a character that's LGBT lol I just prefer things being neutral and characters being open to interpretation. Just like that one dude thinks everyone is hetero, some other person might think they're all gay. That's the fun of keeping things ambiguous.

If you meant me with ‚that one dude‘, I never said that. At all. I was saying that there are explicitly heterosexual relations mentioned in the lore and everybody assumes that those chars are heterosexual.

literally no one said they think everyone is hetero.

and not everything is kept ambiguous, that’s just not true since introduction of Nurse. And no one asked for confirmation of sexuality or anything for every character at all.

and, again: why bring up politics at all and why are you avoiding so hard to explain what you meant by this?

and to be completely clear: I did not attack you. I just asked you to explain as I didn’t understand you.this is a discussion thread after all..

  • @Apollos said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2321145#Comment_2321145

Not interested in those characters, but I don't recall anything in particular other than Jane getting embarrassed on TV and driving off a cliff.

It's up to interpretation. Maybe you assume they're all heterosexual, but that doesn't mean everyone does. Characters like Ash are undeniably hetero based on Evil Dead, but there's nothing I've seen from other characters I like that would suggest their sexuality one way or the other. Honestly it's a lot more fun with them as semi-blank canvases than anything set in stone.

if you are so uninvited in the current lore, you should not have a problem with LGBTQ+ inclusion - which will solely affecting the lore and nothing more.

and again, this thread was not about politics at all, so i wondered why you would bring politics up at all?

  • @Apollos said:

I like the idea that the characters have no real sexuality, so we can project whatever we like onto them. Besides that, the characters are rarely all that consistent so anything political about them like that would just sound shallow anyway. No thanks.

Political like what? Nothing in OP was referring to something political. And have you read the lore of Jane, Yui or Zarina?

and there are several characters with confirmed heterosexual relationships. Sure they could be bi or pan or maybe even asexual. But being homosexual is kinda out of question for them. And let’s be real, everyone assumes they are heterosexual.

Its fine. After reading back I figured there probably was some sort of confusion there.

Thanks, and -since you asked even though out of the confusion- GaymerX are the consultants that help BHVR to avoid adding bad representation or harmful stereotypes. They talked about it in the anniversary stream i think.

  • @KateMain86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2321097#Comment_2321097

Who is GaymerX and did I ever mention them? If a character looks cool I'll play them. I play video games to have fun and spend time with my friends. Thats all that matters to me in the virtual world of entertainment.

I have confused you with kate_best_girl. So I apologize again. Just went back and saw that. I only ever read the first part of both your names.

  • @KateMain86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2320908#Comment_2320908

Literally never said that so don't put words in my mouth. Video games are fun if they are fun. I have tons of fun playing video games that have lgbtq+ characters in them and even play as them in some of them. Why? Because they're fun to play and I couldn't care less what a fictional character is into. Game devs should make what they want to make and not feel pressured into doing anything.

    I apologize then.

so, great news: the devs already confirmed they want to be inclusive and add LGBTQ+ chars on their own will. Not because they were pressured. And as survivors are just skins, the chars will be as fun to play as everyone else!

edit: just to be clear, the following paraphrase was actually not meant for KateMain86, I got confused with usernames being similar.

Your problem with GaymerX I don’t understand. But I didn’t look up their work. It just seemed like you had a problem with including LGBTQ+ chars in DbD but maybe you just didn’t know the devs did say they wanted to do it.

  • You could test it yourself?

i would say Empathy instead of WGLF, the 100% healing speed for dying stating may sound nice, but in most cases the person on the ground already healed themselves far enough

another perk you might consider would be Autodidact by Adam. It’s only valuable if you get more than two healing skill checks of course, but as the teamhealer that shouldn’t be a problem..

  • No, if they turn it on either for a Testphase or permanently, they will make an in-Game announcement (the news that pop up when starting the game)

It did actually...people actually complained because killers would avoid killing people with the LGBTQIAwhateverelse flag on their characters because they would threaten people in comments on steam and in game chat to report them.....which is exactly what we thought was going to happen....

Ever heard of false flagging? Chances are some of those people just wanted to throw shade against the the pride flag.

also, it happened before. Because of playernames including anything LGBTQ+ related or with another ‚reason‘ (characters that are people of color for example)

  • @KateMain86 said:

I'm supposed to feel represented in a video game? I don't want to be represented in a video game. I just want video games to be fun and give me an escape from reality, not remind me of it.

You don’t have to read the lore, which is already FULL of real life stuff others might try to escape from. And maybe there are people that want to escape from the reality of explicit exclusion and discrimination.

and no, you are not supposed to feel represented in a video game. But others would like to.

if you really think a video game can’t be fun when there are LGBTQ+ characters included… well.. i don’t know what to say..

I'm saying they should spend their time actually improving the game instead of adding gay people, since adding gay people really doesn't benefit the game as much as fixing the new map would.

    Completely agreed!

the devs really shouldn’t be working on creating a backstory for a character that’s LGBTQ+!

luckily, as was stated by many already, there is no reason to believe they are.

Looked up GaymerX and they seem like the exact reason we have these problems in the first place. And maybe people don't view as normal because we ourselves don't view the community as normal and treat it like some baby that needs everything it asks for? The fact the community is screaming so loud and DEMANDING they add in 'representation' shows that they view themselves as not normal and a special case. Acting normal would be playing the game and appreciating the characters not shouting at everyone because they don't have a gay character yet. And considering they're working with possibly the worst people imaginable to work with for this subject I can't imagine a single good thing ever coming from this.

    You know what?

from what you have written here, you seem like the person that tries to make the LGBTQ+ community look bad.

there isn’t a huge demand or crying. People are just asking for normal representation and equal treatment. And they started to ask only after BHVR already promised LGBTQ+ inclusion. Before that I have rarely seen anyone asking for it. Don’t judge the community by the bad apples.

And we are not in a place or time were being LGBTQ+ is widely accepted. You have said yourself how you get treated. And there are many many people in the west that have worse experience than you.

no one starts hating LGBTQ+ people because of representation. Those people already would hate LGBTQ+ people but are using representation as an excuse. If there was no representation, people would still completely think in the most cliche stereotypes.

  • I think Adam has amazing cosmetics! Even though only a few overall.

  • Kinda liked the layout of the old one more.

  • Yeah definitely both.

also add at least the favorite feature for charms and cosmetics.

  • I like it, I have heard about the show but kinda forgot and never watched it. Maybe I should? Hope it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger?

and wonder what the prestige head would look like 🤔

  • Then blame those people that are making you feel this way and not those that try to normalize this topic.

diverse representation can help. Of course one character in one Videogame won’t make it or break it. But it is really not as harmful if done right.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2319890#Comment_2319890

Its obvious everyone doesn't like this idea and never has. Doing these meaningless things only makes the LGBT look worse and it always feels pushy and seeing the people they promote something tells me this character is gonna be just one big cluster of stereotypes.

Yeah but it’s also obvious why people don’t like this: they don’t see LGBTQ+ people as normal people.

representation helps to normalize it, so that maybe one day people actually won’t mind if there are LGBTQ+ people or not.

and for the stereotypes: the devs are working with GaymerX to avoid harmful stereotyping.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

I don't get why we NEED a gay or trans character like I'm gay and I wanna be seen as a normal person I don't want a 'gay character'

That’s exactly why we need to end the explicit exclusion.

why should there be no gay or trans characters when we have already such a diverse cast? The devs want to include LGBTQ+ chars as well. And just looking at them tells me they are genuine about it, they don’t seem like the guys that want to exclude specific characters just because of their sexuality.

the former reason was no sexuality at all, but they didn’t hold their word - unintentionally. But their way of incorporation lore and writing have changed drastically since release either way.

  • @Verconissp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2319731#Comment_2319731

that's why i believe that... adding one would lead people to either spare said character during pride month.

    Or straight up boolie em,

I have seen killers sparing specific survivors (one let me go just because I am a Kate) and killers targeting specific survivors or survivors that have on common trait.

why would LGBTQ+ be a reason for exclusion but other traits or anything not?

  • I guess you could use Steam for that?

at least something like this is possible with controller configuration in Steam. Don’t know if mouse wheel actions can be configured like that as well..

  • @Brokenbones said:

I think BHVR should focus on creating unique and creatively designed characters with compelling backstories. Whatever traits, characteristics or mannerisms that entails is all fine so long as it's well written and done because the people behind it genuinely love the idea.

At the end of the day, the art and design team of BHVR has always been consistantly good (even if the game itself is in a rough state right now).

    This!

    so much!

i don’t know why people are so against this…

Things to do in Dead by Daylight:

    1) Get the RPD map working

    2) Make survivors less strong at high level play

    3) Reduce bloodpoint grind so that people don't have to play 3,000 hours to max out a character

    4) Fix indoor maps being terribly designed

    5) Fix ghost face's reveal mechanic

    6) Balance/fix terrible perks on both sides

    7) Buff terrible killers (Legion, Trapper, Clown)

I think adding a gay survivor can wait

Adding a gay character can certainly wait. But then again that inclusion wouldn’t hinder any of your points at all.

also.. how is that related to the topic?

I just replied to someone who mentioned "colorful clothes" which happens to be a stereotype.

Well.. they have to wear something after all.

and if they only get black&white clothes it will also be twisted as harmful presentation.

of course if they go the colorful way of Yun-Jin or Trickster that would be stereotypical. But there are ‚normal‘ colorful clothes. There is no need to be overly limiting for a char that happens to be LGBTQ+.

in the end, there will definitely be people finding things to complain about. That’s for sure.

Yes, me as someone who is trans and bi, i'm totally have a problem. Dont try to put me into the "homophobe" category just because I don't happen to agree with you on LGBT not being a visible thing, because making it visible leads to stereotypes

No one said it should be visible though?

people are just asking for equal treatment to the already included heterosexual relationships.

and devs are working with people from GaymerX to avoid harmful stereotypical portrays

I think something is wrong with her in game face rigging. Looking at the non in game model looks fine, but putting her in DBD's engine somehow makes her face look like a human frog.

Ah I forgot in-game she still looked like that.

but yeah I meant the neutral face model, I kinda expect them to rework the in-game animations to make her look more human..

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2319165#Comment_2319165

Yes, all I want is an elderly woman (Bill's age) and more survivors who aren't considered "attractive" by society's standards.

Although I'm sure if a survivor isn't good looking, that means less sales on cosmetics so maybe they're afraid to go down that route?

Yep, I mean, they don’t have do go out of their way to make extreme ugly characters. But more everyday people. I guess Jeff, Dwight, Claudette, Min are quite good examples of not being overly attractive.

Of course that’s all subjective. And something like Quentin and Cybil is not meant to be ugly but just modeled poorly. So that doesn’t count for me either

  • @Tricksters_30thBlade said:

Honestly isn't needed dbd doesn't need gay characters it doesn't change anything.

DbD is going to get ‚gay‘ characters. You gotta start to live with that. And that was definitely not the question in the OP at all.

edit to be a little bit more constructive: it may not be needed, but the devs have expressed that they want to be inclusive and have a diverse cast of characters in their game.

  • On topic on how go get ‚more diverse‘:

we do have a pretty damn diverse cast already, we have many ethnicities, nationalities, a few different body types (Jeff, Jane, David, Elodie also a little bit), different ages (Bill stands out and an somewhat elderly woman is kinda missing), we have a smoker with Bill, different types of disfigurement and diseases (Claudette has a skin condition, Ash is amputee, Yui cross-eyed, Deathslinger has something with his leg and needs walking aid, Hillbilly being born disfigured), The Twins are born conjoined twins, with Claudette it may even be already implied she could be autistic/on the spectrum.

so I guess, we don’t need to get more diverse as it seems nothing was ever explicitly excluded except for anything related to LGBTQ+, maybe the trend of the successful and attractive young (female) survivor needs to be paused in favor of more everyday people as it used to be

and yes, asking for LGBTQ+ to be excluded but being perfectly fine with the inclusion of heterosexuality in the current different forms that are already in the game is kinda homophobic/lgbtq+phobic. I know some people are not aware of the heterosexual mentions so I usually don’t label them directly, but at some point people have to be aware that them wanting explicit exclusion does have a name.
