True but u cld always just mute, let ppl who want it, have it. You don’t have to talk or listen to any of the players, it’s like it wldn’t even exist for you.
Yeah. That’s what I have said in this thread.
as long as the devs are not starting to then balance around voicechat though. That’s when i will complain :)

aren’t language barriers, people with bad mics, background also an issue in val and overwatch? Yet they still have it.
And I don’t like this and don’t play those games (well that’s of course not the only reason)
though it seems like BHVR is also thinking DbD shouldn’t have it. Not every game has to have the same features after all.

Balanced gameplay is what has forced dbd into this stagnant point. The killer powers are copy paste cookie cutter crap that we have seen a dozen times. Killers like the crow lady, trickster, even slinger took no chances. This obssesion with making p0wers balanced puts game designers in a bind as unto8ched unexplored game concepts like ranged exposed killers, disguise killers, just out there designs.
In original killer design we had tombstone myers, teleporting killers like nurse, spirit invisible hunting. Are you saying were better off with current killer designs. Theres no wow factor to any of them there all orientated around the same looping crap we see every patch. How about more daring solutions to weaker killers. Go big on making there powers even stronger even if itm eans trimming back there less interesting aspects.
The game getting baseline changes isnt possible outside of some casual alternative gamodes. Pigs traps, pinhead boxes. But indivigual power reworks can be the key.
Frankly, I dont even know what you are trying to tell me here?
there is bound to be stronger and weaker killer powers and after this many killers some reused ideas and concepts are also inevitable..
also, with Spirit they have shown they can balance powers even if they are more creative/unique.

Wait why would nurses existence effect other killers. Her play rate is abyssmally low. Her kill rate is awful (for the general player base). On multiple occasions we have seen comp teams beat nurse so even the high level play argument is dumb. Distance is the nurses enemy provide you throwin the odd left or right she will lose distance its hard and she will get you. But every second you burn hurts her.
She is uniquely one of the few only killers that performs well at a high level and has enough complexity to warrant both killer and survivors respect. Her design should be what bhvr comtinues to emulate without resorting to the same anti loop, m1 killer tripe we see.
Her being unique and having the highest potential is affecting the overall game. I stated that she doesn’t affect other killers individually, but buffing the whole killer side generally isn’t really a great idea when it also would buff Nurse even further.
just because her playrate i low (which especially in high skill play isn’t true) or that statistically she is ‚weak‘ doesn’t mean they should buff her in any way. The community always says the devs shouldn’t rely on statistics alone for balance decisions and here we have the best example of how they actually don’t do that.

They have stated that Haddonfield is deactivated until it gets its rework..

Which challenges are you struggling with exactly?
maybe there is someone here that can give you some tips to accomplish them even with unfair mm
-
There are usually 4 jigsaw boxes in a match. Are you sure there wasn’t one left that you didn’t use? Which box is deactivating your trap is purely random and may very well be the very last one.
-
If they ever make this then it should be defaulted to mute and never be considered for any balance changes ever.
besides the community being toxic there is plenty of other reasons why this can’t work: language barriers, people with bad microphones, background noises in any capacity, etc pp.
just leave it out. Premades already have a way easily communicate and voice chat was one of the main reasons Friday the 13th was so annoying.
-
MMR is ‚broken‘ (well, intentionally prioritizing lower queue times over fair matchmaking) - but it’s broken in pretty much in both directions. You will eventually get matched against opponents that are way lower skilled than you are. Chances for this depend also on time of day/week.
-
I know cross-progression is coming for all platforms.
where did you get this misinformation from? They clearly stated multiple times they can’t confirm this for all platforms…

Even against potatoes. It doesn't last long enough. The point I was trying to make. Is it's not even high risk/high reward anymore. It's high risk/no reward on hexs anymore.
Well. Then I gotta disagree with you. I get value out of it often enough when I run it (mostly for a challenge with exposed hits).
of course not every game, but that has been the nature of Hexes since their introduction.

no what I want is if the killer snuff it out the totem break or need to be how many time you boon one totem
like if you boon this one totem and it gets put out you can't relight that totem but you'll be able lit different totems but same will happen to that totem if it gets put out.
something!
Well I agree to some degree. But in the end, Hexes and Boons are two completely different topics.
@Predated said:
This is honestly one of the harder to find totems. Because you dont often come from that area as a survivor. It's not the best gen to fix, better to travel upstairs as there is more vision on a potential killer running and its out of hearing range from the staircase.
From your angle, that totem looks super obvious, but if we're gonna use angles to make totems look obvious, then I can stand next to any totem and be like "so easy".
you are explaining it from a reasonable point of view. We don’t do that here. ;)

where boon there is no risk.
Boons have nothing to do with any of this. Or do you suggest hexes should be working like boons, because then you would also need the set up time if you want them to function the same.

"Not intended and meant to be a risk"That's fine and all. Except there's almost 0 point in running any hex now adays. As survivors spawn on top of them. Or don't even have to put effort in to looking for them. As they're often in stupid open places. Or right next to gens for some inexplicable reason
Go ahead and run something like Devore/Undying. Let me know how often you actually get 3 hooks/devore value. Before its gone. Because it's almost impossible to ever get value.
Well. If I do and get value out of it often… won’t you just talk it down by saying I am playing against potatoes? (Which I would kinda agree with, just saying to tell me to do it)
and Devour Hope is especially a high risk/very high reward perk. Take Ruin and you got a perk that’s being used often and is giving value often. Maybe not on top 0.1 % skill. But then again, there is only very few perks valuable on both sides there
-
Totems were never meant to be completely hidden anyway. Of course there are better and worse spawns, but on indoor map like The Game, most are pretty well hidden anyway. RNG spawns are part of the risk of running a hex.

The problem is not her it's her on pc, i played against her from consoles, she was strong but we do 4 gens and after she killed us but the game was fun and after I played against nurse from PC on ormon, (the legion map) she teleport very far and she down the team in 2 blink one blink hit the survivor and just after she hit again him, nurse on pc are too op
That’s not quite true though.
there are god level nurses on consoles and there are potato nurses on pc. Just being on pc doesn’t make her any stronger, it’s just easier to learn because of performance/optimization being worse on console (which is a whole other topic) and her being easier to learn/master on mouse and keyboard, but it’s still very much possible to master her on controller

as long as she exists in her state (and Blight with some specific addons) the overall gamebalance can’t really be changed in favor of killers…
I would say you indirectly imply something like that here and have heard more explicit arguments in that direction several times already.
And again i am of the opinion that thinking that behaviour will improve killer gameplay in anyway just because the delete and nerf the best options is a fools hope.
Nah. I was talking explicitly about general/overall game balance and not about (specific) low tier killers. And I didn’t say they would directly buff killers when nurse was removed but that a direct buff is not logical as long as there is strong killers like Nurse. Don’t try to put word in my mouth.
-
I think it’s both. There are definitely aspects about story writing that are objectively good or bad but in the end, different people are looking for individual things in storys.

This is pretty much the most recent official statement we got on Switch cross Progression:
@DeathByGiggles said:
Yesterday, we announced Dead by Daylight’s inclusion in the Epic Games Store catalogue. While we’re thrilled to provide cross-platform progression between Epic, Steam, and Stadia at launch, we also realize this may raise some questions regarding the arrival of cross-progression for Switch, announced last year.
On any platform our goal is always to deliver the best, most consistent cross-progression experience we can that includes everything our players have purchased to date. Due to technical aspects beyond our control, transferring DLC between all platforms has not been possible, significantly impacting that experience. As a result, while we remain dedicated to doing everything we can to resolve the issue, we can no longer provide a clear ETA on when cross-progression will be available on Switch.
We’ll keep you posted with any new updates as we continue working on the matter. We understand a lot of you are looking forward to this feature (we are too!) and we appreciate your patience!
also, transferring progress from one platform to the other isn’t possible in any way..

They can delete nurse for all I care but can we please stop making the delusional argument that if the best killer is gone that behaviour would suddenly buff the worst?
AS IF anything like that would happen or has ever happened.
-They nerfed enduring because it's interaction with DS wasn't satisfactory, buffed ds stun time and left enduring in it's nerfed state
-They nerfed the stridor/iron will interactions because of spirit, then nerfed spirit herself and left the stridor/iw intarction in it's nerfed state for all other killers.
Just as two examples that directly come to my mind. And I can't remember when behaviour ever did it really differently, at least not pro-killer, with wraith and the reducing of his post phase lung after buffing him finally.
I never said that though? Of course they won’t buff the worst killer if nurse was nerfed/removed. And the other stuff you mentioned doesn’t relate to this in any way?
-
I definitely love the fact that so many popular horror franchises meet in this game and still think it’s great to get into matches against those various killers without knowing at the start who it is. I also think the original killers are designed in such awesome and fitting ways that they all work in this realm together!
i guess I got into this game (watching YouTube Let’s plays) because of the various franchises.

Beautiful in black

Spirit wasn’t destroyed, her nerfs were healthy and needed.
though I kinda agree that Nurse is too strong, and as long as she exists in her state (and Blight with some specific addons) the overall gamebalance can’t really be changed in favor of killers…

There is two different stack of bp, the normal BP gain from matches is capped at 1M. But any bonus BP from codes, login rewards, challenges etc are being added additionally

I mean this in the nicest way possible to BHVR because it's not going to sound nice
BHVR talks a LOT. A LOT a LOT. All they ever seem to do is talk talk talk talk (and monitor, I suppose we can't forget monitor!).
Talk and monitor talk and monitor talk and monitor
Until something ACTUALLY happens, their talk means nothing. Talk is cheap. They talk all the damn time and to be blunt, I have zero faith or trust that until we see actual changes with our own eyeballs playing the game, all it is going to be is talk. Maybe at some point players could have taken BHVRs word and had faith that if they said they were doing X, it would get done but I have no faith in anything they say is actually happening until we the players get to see the fruits of those talks.
fair enough.
I think many things they talked about did get delivered though so I actually believe they are working on this stuff. But I can easily see your point of view as well.

Good call!
I'll be over here doing my best "Why can't I quit you?" Brokeback Mountain-style complaining :D
But yes, if you didn't like the game a year ago with the changes, very little (in-game at least) has been changed. For whatever reason, BHVR seems perfectly content with the games current state (in terms of performance and perks and SBMMR).
Well. Not quite true, as they stated they are aware that SBMM predicts the outcome of a match pretty good but the system currently has flaws mainly prioritizing Lobby times over fair matchmaking. Also they talked about performance on console and that they want to improve it (as they once promised with console being on constant 60fps, which they admitted was way too ambitious). They also talked about monitoring CoH and DH being closely monitored.
it’s just that they don’t really accomplish what they talk about. Or they are taking waaaay waaaay too long for it.
-
Yeah it is the white glyph.
and bonus BP from perks/addons/offerings won’t even show up on the score at the end.
-
No, you won’t get banned.
a report needs video evidence to get even looked at and in that it will be clear that you haven’t been the one that cheated.
-
Oni and Huntress I literally get nothing done. Got the adepts as pure M1 and pretty much ‚farmed‘ for the other achievements (though I guess I got a few hits legitimately as I didn’t outright farm)
Billy and Blight I am not good with at all, but I can somehow manage a little bit. Same with Trickster but not that bad.
-
Apparently, they backed out of the Pinhead NFT stuff. But here was no official statement on this. All we know is that the actual NFTs don’t use the model made by BHVR as previously stated.
They removed the unlockable masks for Bubba that were based on the original 4 survivors as they were used as tools for racism on social media etc. Also because SmartFace had a texture issue that made it literally black face. As compensation they said everyone who played Bubba at least once (even if with those retired splinter offerings) would get 6K shards. They did only get a few right though and many didn’t get their shards and those were given out in waves. I think there are still plenty that didn’t get them.
-
This game needs a community that understands that one single health chapter would not actually solve any of the existent issues in the long run.
this game needs more focus on quality assurance and game health (in terms of bug fixing and balance and quality of life) in every update and patch. Instead the community is parroting what their fav streamer said against the devs because they didn’t get catered to.
-
None of this.
but Billy and the current fog need to be greatly improved.
-
I wanna play only against Switch users with more than 500 h, PC players on Epic or Steam, but not Windows Store or Stadia, PlayStation players that have an escape rate of lower than 50 % and XBox Series S players. No one else. I would also like a Coke light with it. Thanks.
-
So… how long til the inevitable killer sided copy of this thread with Noed instead of DH? And who is gonna make it?
-
Family sharing is allowed. But if you share the basegame, only one account can play on it online.
DLC sharing is allowed and BHVR even fixed a bug recently regarding it.
