  • I love playing against streamers because I can rewatch the vod later and their reactions to my plays. Especially since I main GF. Watching the jump scares is the best.

Rank 19 is one step from out of the gate new player. Still not buying that this guy is legitimately that new as killer. People do rank down on purpose, to beat on low rank survivors.

His account level is low and rank reset just hit. His legion is lvl 38. His tier 3 perks are Legion base perks. He's running Coulrophobia/Iron Grasp.

Why don't you buy that this guy is legitimately a new killer?

As that guy said, petrified does nothing, just wanted to try the rng. Excuse me mister, i see you are such a smartass and you know our builds. Our idea is not to bully anyone, i hate bullying as i myself play killer also.

P.S we did not run wiggling builds.

What you're running isn't the point. Seeing the multiple petrified oaks is the point. The Killers don't know what builds you're running but they DO know that there's multiple oaks in against a SWF. Who the ######### wants to deal with that?

  • Hackers were giving people DC penalty. Like Tru3 got hit for like 72 hours or some #########.

  • @tortrader said:

Look at your perk tiers. You're not really a level 19 killer. Matchmaking is working in this case.

    Boo this man. Booooooooo

OP, new matchmaking was supposed to hit last month but we haven't heard anything about it since May so, who the ######### knows.

  • While the wider FOV IS an advantage, the main advantage was the extra vertical view you get so you can look over loops and see the Killer.

Anyone who said stretched res doesn't give an advantage are ######### deluding themselves.

So im the one that made the post. I dont use devour as killer so obviously I'm coming from a survivor side opinion. I understand totem perks are inconsistent and can be broken early in match. But im talking about when it isn't found. Its like ok 3 hooks and if you play ur cards right u can win it all. Thats all im saying but great to hear everyone's opinion

Hex totems are supposed to be strong due to the fact they they can be dead less then 30 seconds into a game.

Haunted Grounds - Every is exposed for a minute. Can quickly snowball and turn around a lost match for the Killer.

Huntress Lullaby - People start missing skill checks with just 1 token. At 5 it's like you're being bombarded on.

NOED - The bane of Survivor mains

Ruin - If it stays up, survivors have an incredibly tough time doing gens if you pressure them properly.

Third Seal - Useless against SWF but against solos, will be devastating.

Devour Hope is incredibly strong compared to most of these but it also comes with the restriction that you need to be 24+ meters away. If survivors unhook before you get out of that range or if you end up getting looped in that range when the unhooks happen, you end up with no tokens gained from the unhooks. You'll have to give up pressure or certain chases if you want to get stacks and if you want to defend the totems if someone is totem hunting or they see your 3stack Devour Hope.

So it's not simply "3 hooks and snowball". Those 3 hooks have to be done far away from you. And when you get those 3 hooks, the survivors will immediately turn to destroy that totem. This is all assuming they haven't destroyed it already. You will need to lose out on pressuring any gens near the hooked person or else you won't gain your stacks. It's not a lazy perk at all.

Maybe you SHOULD use Devour as a Killer before giving such an opinion on it.

  • I've played... hundred and hundreds of survivor games and I think I've only encountered 5 stack Devour Hope like twice. Very few 3 stacks Devour Hope as well. The Totem usually gets cleansed as soon as the 3 stacks hit.

  • As someone who's played an extensive amount of games like R6: Siege, LoL, HotS, Apex, etc., Killer in DBD is definitely way more stressful than any of them.

  • Survivor - Small Game. ######### them totems. Free BP. Free emblem points. Find those pesky well-hidden totems.

Killer - Hex: Third Seal. Can really ######### up solo survivors and not so coordinated teams.

  • It's an ok perk.

For awhile, Tru3 was using Ruin/Surveillance/Surge/and Corrupt(maybe it was Discordance?)on Pyramid Head.

Demo's perks could be good if they weren't so restricted.

  • If a survivor is just asking to be downed again, I will down them again.

I only tunnel when someone finds my hex totem.

Then again, it's not really tunneling if I walk over to my totem and you're always there.

They don't actually watch his vids

  • Kindred.

Deja Vu is just so you won't potentially 3gen yourself. This can be easily done if you just keep tabs of which gens are being done. No need for the perk.

Kindred lets you see your teammates when someone's hooked + killer if in close proximity. This allows you to do many things.

-See if the Killer is camping.

-See which way the Killer is headed after hooking.

-See if the killer has BBQ.

-See if anyone's going for the save so you can focus on objectives.

-See if someone's being chased by the killer after the hook.

And if you're hooked, your teammates get all this information instead.

Deja Vu might be better if it showed the teammates the 3gens if YOU complete a generator. Even then, people just need to pay attention to which gens are being done to prevent the 3gen.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/171331/scott-details-the-issues-people-have-with-boring-killers

Yeah but this is one of the times i think hes just wrong. His argument is essdntially "survivors want to be able to use the skills theyve learned" and by ghat he means looping.

Want to take a wild guess at what the most boring thing in the game is for killers? Running around in circles for 5 mi utes.

What behaviour is doing is creating killers that have different counterplays to their powers, some killers you can loop to ######### like wraith, some killers you have to counter a little more uniquely like Spirit. This keeps the game fresh and different. If every single killer was loopable the way wraith is this game would have died 2 years ago.

Scott's wrong on this, the people that find a killer boring its because they either dont understand the counter to thst killer and are getting waxed all the time, or they understand it really well and dont find it challanging. Either way, so tf what. Its better than every single killer having the same boring ass nascar counter

Yeah having to play the same against every killer would be boring as ######### #########.

Having to change your playstyle and adapt to the Killer you have is one of the best parts of the game.

I enjoy going against spirit personally. I love horror games and spirit phasing is one of the scariest things in this game. Doc too. Doc makes you go insane and the devs have done a good job with his him with that design in mind. I enjoy playing against Ghostface but so many list him as boring??? I guess it's because he can yoink you off gens before you even know he's in the game and he can hide himself in loops.

Feel like most of the people complaining just want to mindnumbingly run in circles around trash and that's one of if not the most boring things about this game.

  • Who's complaining about Nurse spamming blinks?

  • @anarchy753 said:

I've gotta say, I flat out don't understand the devs' design pilosophy half the time.

Look at Huntress, she came in and they were like "ok, we have a ranged killer, so to compensate we're gong to make it so that survivors have a really large area that lets them know she's around."

Then Deathslinger comes out and it's like "ok, we have a ranged killer, so let's make him stealthy af, like no terror radius until you're already in shooting range, and add ons that can let him shoot you outside TR."

They're very different ranged killers though. DS can't down you over multiple walls from like 40+ meters away.

  • Look how much attention the bathrobe Yui outfit combo got. I'd buy any skin for Yui.

  • You can "win" without being toxic. Whenever I play, I focus on bp and making the game exciting for the survivors. Especially if there's a streamer in my games. I love rewatching the VODs of myself as killer and seeing how people react in my games. I keep my toxicity levels low and ramp up the tryhard/exciting gameplay especially against streamers.

Especially since I usually play Ghostface. The jump scare reactions are the best.

  • Survivor Loadouts

Kindred, Spine Chills, Small Game, Resilience - My usual build. Very solid all around for solo play. Very solid escape rate with this build.

Wake Up!, Hope, Iron Will, Spine Chills - For opening gates fast. Especially helpful when you're the last one and the killer stomps on the hatch.

Saboteur, Breakout, Dead Hard, Spine Chills - Sabo build. Fun and stupid.

Killer Loadouts for the 2 I play most.

Ghostface - Nurse's Calling, Sloppy Butcher, BBQ, Ruin - Very standard build. Hit and run. Stalk when there's the opportunity. Jump scare them survs.

Doc - Huntress Lullaby, Unnerving Presence, Distressing, BBQ - Impossible skill checks build. The real fun is when the totem is well-hidden. Most of the time it's out in the open and gets popped by the time I get my first hook.

The BBQs can be switched out for much more optimal perks but I love my BP.

  • Like trapper, you just gotta give away the early game to try to set up your traps. Very snowbally though once you get things going. Radiate your traps out from whoever you hook towards other gens. This will allow you to catch anyone coming in towards the hook or running out from the hook towards the gens.

  • too = to a higher degree than is desirable = over

    strong = powered

I'm not playing dumb, the words are literally the same.

  • @SailedSavage said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1435355#Comment_1435355

Never said he was OP, I asked if other people think he is too strong. See the difference? I'm getting other people's opinions and information on why they do or don't think he is. You are just here trolling instead of being productive my guy.

    too strong = overpowered

  • Had a match where one survivor DC'd before I could pick him up and kill him with a hook. Post game chat he was like,

"want to know why I dc'd? Because you did nothing but tunnel."

I responded with... what am I supposed to do? I've got one person hooked, I hook another person and the unhook notification goes off. I have BBQ and don't see anybody else, do I just not go to the unhooked area? The game was going pretty terrible for them, I always had at least one person hooked and by the time they unhooked someone, I already had someone else hooked. I was literally juggling hooks between all of them but because they were going down so fast, this dude DC'd because I was "tunneling" them and proceeded to try to call me out for it in post-game chat.

I tried to ask him what he wanted me to do. Did he want me to just ######### off and not go after them? Clearly they weren't working on gens and didn't even bother to let me wander away a bit before unhooking. But all he did was complain about how the game was boring because of tunnelers and didn't answer me at all.

As a person who is a killer main, I understand the utter brokenness of this perk. I was one of the killers that thought sprint perks were broken because they actually were wholeheartedly. The thing is it’s useless to stack crutch perks now. There is no point of running those types of perks together anymore. Even though you can stack those perks and hex perks why would you? Hex perks are crutch perks, but killers fail to understand that. Anything that can give you exposed status is crutch. My argument is that NO-ED is too much crutch, just like balanced landing used to be. All the killer mains would agree how bad BL, SB, and Lithe used to be. All survivors would agree NO-ED is the ultimate crutch. And perhaps you’re only going against my proposal of changing the perk because you aren’t good at survivor or killer, and just maybe you yourself have abused this perk before and see no issue with it. The issue lies with Status effect. If it was similar to haunted ground it would be more tolerable. A perk that strong is not okay. At some point you have to see the connections I’m making between survivor and killer.

A perk this strong is ok because it's useless for 90% of the match and can easily be useless for 100% of the match.

And the ensuing panic of noed triggering is one of the few really "scary" parts of this horror game.

  • That's what people already do vs the current Franklin's.

  • The little mobile staircase thing outside the portal room on Hawkins. Downed a survivor when they were running up it. Went to the top to grab the survivor, vaulted the little ledge instead. Walk around and back up the stairs and vaulted down again.

  • PH is like Doctor tier, which is a very solid tier to be at. Very very good chasing tool and zoning but lacking in map pressure. Being able to see cages only mattered to campers/tunnelers. Removing the cage auras for him made no difference to PH players who utilized his cages for map pressure(sending survs away if all other survs are near, caging them when in slugging situations, etc.) and were good with his ranged attack.

He was strong without needing to camp/tunnel and the change had no affect on his power.

    @Speeddemonsaif said:

Ghostface comes outta nowhere. Like ghostface is crap hes like bootleg micheal myers well in dbd and plus when im survivor and get matched with and ghostface he never stalks.

Ghostface is one of the higher tier Killers. As a GF main, I find myself not stalking much cause most competent players will quickly spot me and break me out of stealth.

I stalk when I can but any Survivor with any sense of awareness of their surroundings are hard to get the jump on. Not to mention that spine chills is seeing a rise in usage.

His real power comes in being able to ambush people and winning mindgames with his stealth.

My personal licensed killer tier list would be...

    1. Freddy - Can TP across the map to gens. With the right information perks(BBQ, Thrilling, Discordance, etc), this can make him very oppressive. Also got built-in game speed regression with his sleep and very good anti-looping with his snares/pallets. He's not crazy powerful like Nurse/Spirit but he's got a very rounded out kit that's very strong in the right hands.
    2. Pyramid Head - One of the strongest anti-loopers in the game with his ranged attack. Can deny hook perks like DS/Borrowed Time/etc. with his cages. Cages also allow for removing hook stages when you are in a slugging situation. Can force 3 gens with his cages real well. Lacks mobility to apply pressure without cages though.
    3. Ghostface - Nightshroud allows him to easily sneak up and get quick hits on survivors. Also allows him to easily win chases with his hidden red stain and TR. Crouching allows for even more mindgames. With double power cooldown add-ons, you pretty much always have your shroud up for when you need it. No mobility for map pressure though. Pressure comes from survivors being injured and needing to be wary of surroundings.
    4. Myers - Can quickly snowball with EW3 if he catches the survivors out of position. He loses valuable game time needing to stalk though.
    5. Demogorgon - Decent map pressure with his noodle portals. Decent chasing tool with his shred. He's loud as ######### though. Obvious tells with his moves. Can hear if he's in a chase, or moving through tunnels, or just stomping around nearby.
    6. Pig - Head traps for slowing down game speed. Very RNG reliant. Less reliable stealth than GF.
    7. Bubba - Is Bubba. Only good for camping. Maybe with the changes he'll move up. We'll see.
  • The 3 play really different from each other though. Ghostface is the ultimate spookster with the grabs and high paced stealth style.

And yeah, he's a different character from the ones in the movie.

  • People always talk about how easy it is to pip up. Just take the depip and move on.

  • Yeah if you switch killers in lobby, you gotta reapply the offering.

  • I think most people rate DS fairly. Most people seem to know he's a good chase ender but lacks map pressure like PH.

  • Wait, why is Franklin's a toxic perk?

  • This is a glitch. I noticed that it usually happens when you've switched a character or something. Can be replicated quite consistently with Killers.

  • The game probably went a lot worse than you're describing it.

  • Yeah it's really only good on stealth Killers(only like 3) and only then only works with a gen low on progression.

Remove the below 50% restriction and its an ok perk on stealth Killers.

As it stands, it's completely trash. Any one who uses exhaustion perks will see that the Killer's using it and take the time to walk away for it to wear off(1 second at tier 1, 3 seconds at tier 3) if the Killer is coming to them.

  • Doesnt feel like a win on either side.

  • "Perfectly Balanced" - BHVR

  • @Reaver_Raziel said:

Nice job. Cant speak for all. But personally I hate farming. I find so goddamn boring. If a killer tries to start farming and other survivors start doing it I just kill my self on hook, if they try to farm me I dc. I really hate playing like that :/

Yeah but with the event going on and me having all these cakes on killers I don't want to play, I just want to get rid of them with everyone at least getting BP lol.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Chase one and hit them. Hit them a second time for a Hook. This means that only 2 Survivors are on 2 different Gens at this point.

Them being smart and efficient does not make the Killer play in a different way. It will get more difficult tho.

If the first surv you find is any decent and has decent tiles around, you could very lose 3 gens during the chase.

Honestly you just do your best. Hope you can snowball off the first hook with the team spending more time going for saves instead of doing gens.

  • The game wants you to play more Killer.

  • Addons

    Double Nightshroud Cooldown

    Perks

BBQ - For BP and finding people after hooks

A Nurse's Calling - For finding injured survs and ambushing them

Sloppy Butcher - More slowdown in healing for NC

    Hex: Ruin - Gen Regression

BBQ could be traded out for Tremors/Discordance/Surveillance. Ruin can be traded out for Pop.

The plan is to hit people constantly, don't worry about chases too much. Injure people and keep them off gens for Ruin and then take out anyone you find healing with Nurse's Calling.

  • The only people complaining are the campers/tunnelers.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

I'll say it again - stop using matchmaking and ranks as an excuse for you losing. Ranks, even by the DEVELOPERS OF THE GAMES admission, are just a participation trophy. It takes nothing but playtime to rank up, ESPECIALLY as survivor. Even to rank 1.

Go into solo survivor, get to red ranks, and tell me your team mates are good. Do it.

    You can't.

Those red ranks who dont belong are still infinitely better than other rank 15 and new players.

It's so easy to tell immediately when someone's not a red rank even with all the ######### red ranks. Those are the survivors these new killers should be playing with because even ######### red ranks will trounce all over new killers.

You're also dismissing the point that this mm shouldn't be happening anyways AND there are a lot of red ranks who do belong just completely smashing these new players even worse than ######### red ranks.

  • Run Mad Grit/Agitation/Iron Grasp/Forced Penance. Down someone and pick them up and then just start running around and trying to smack the other survivors while carrying one.

  • Imagine including clown in your complaints
